That’s just how it be internet upload speed isn’t high bc of how the internet provider puts that speed difference. U don’t need a high speed in upload, u do need it in download

Don't know what you guys are talking about my download is 850 mbps and my upload ranges from 150-200. I have Fios. People blaming the console, but don't read the service from most ISPs don't guarantee a gigabit for example from optimum. I had them and I had a gigabit and speed tests on PC and Console had me at 200 mbps. They told me they don't guarantee a gigabit but it can get up to a gigabit
I use an ethernet cable to my ps5 regardless of internet wireless speeds. Because it takes out any potential drops in wifi speed and that could mean the difference in a great experience or a poor one.

He probably cut it because it says his network name. So basically for security purposes.
Also, your speed and his will be different so knowing his speed doesn't do anything at all for you. different location, different internet service providers, too many factors.
I just did this and it dropped my upload speed to about an 8. The mbps jumped to a 5-800 range.

Whats frustrating is when every game works absolute fine, you have 500mbps download and 50mps on your PS5 but every Madden, every year, has terrible input lags and high latency. Why ? Im not going to put a cable across my whole living room because one game can't handle WiFi

Please keep in mind the 5Ghz frequency option on the ps5 will only work if your router/modem has 5Ghz
If you're using the router the isp gave you and it sucks go buy a decent one. 150 $ at least, it makes a huge difference. I have an asus gaming router with dual core processor and i always get the max speed i pay for.

I know i’m late but if you were to use 5g your router should be close to your console, even in the same room as you would be better. For me, my router is down the hall from my PlayStation and I use 5g

I’m giving you a like regardless because it seems like good information, however my ps5 speed has not improved as much as I was hoping after changing the primary and secondary DNS, my upload is still only like 15 mbps, and I’m really unsure how to fix it. Troubleshooting resetting the router as we speak, distance definitely shouldnt be an issue and I doubt wifi on 5gigahertz would somehow be better than a wired connection so I’m a bit stumped.
Hey, did you figure it out? ps5 has been having this issue for a year now, started out of no where and ik its not cause of the internet cause no other device experiences this, matter of fact my ps4 is much farther from the router and works flawlessly

I have a cat8 from living room to my bedroom but is 200ft it’s was to long and I’m having speed drops so I ordered a 50ft because the 200ft was way to much and I think that’s the problem because I have WiFi 6e with up to 1gig download and upload 39 my ps5 download speed reads up to 900mbps but sometimes drops to 100-200 im thinking I’m having issues because of the length of the internet cable is too

Get a cat6A, cheaper and still supports 10gbps at 300ft. cat8 should as well, but only with the same 10gbps anyways. The 40gbps are only 100ft max. Not to forget, the PS5 anyways only has a 1gbps ethernet port.

When I tried to do the manual set up the done button stays gray it doesn’t allow me to move forward, so I don’t know what you’re doing different than I am but that shit is not helping. I’m still running low speed and I have the Google nest mesh router.
What is it I need from scratch to never lag on ps5 games? Router and boosters? Is that it is so what router and what boosters are best and how many boosters. I have my setup in the room upstairs so I can't travel cables from downstairs where the main router will connect
Dude thank you SO MUCH!! For the longest time I thought that my ps5 was a completely wasted purchase. I got the console, Expanded ssd, fight stick and pro controller for this console (over 1k invested in it) and my internet was so terrible even though I knew my internet did not have those speeds that kept showing up on the console. I have talked with playstation support to no avail, but With your simple video my connection is now running at my service standard and my console is completely good to use now. Like I said thank you so much man

@yacium_5227 I'm not sure I personally didn't use an ethernet cable because my gaming setup is too far away from my internet connection to do so, but adjusting the settings for recieving internet by the console is what changed my connection. Before it wasn't recieving my houses internet well, leaving me lagging all the time and even dropping out of games. I switched to 5ghz instead of 2.4ghz which it was set on and also changed some of the other wifi settings he recommended in this video
@yacium_5227 I have a 300mps internet service plan, distributed through the wifi my xbox would recieve numbers in the 200s, my playstation was often under 100. These changes in this video allowed my console to recieve the same amount of internet that my xbox recieves

Here is my tip and correction:
DO NOT USE 2.5Ghz band even if far. Not reliable and smooth as 5Ghz. 2.5Ghz good for IOT devices. I have WIFI 7 router and even tho I don’t have WiFi 7 devices it did improve the quality significantly. Best is to place ur router in a clear site of your ps5 if not run a Ethernet cable. Last option should be 2.5Ghz. It’s like just surviving.
Switching to 5ghz only was a game changer, went from 65mbps to 450mbps. Was tryna download a game and its was taking WAY too long before, went from 3 hours to 19 minutes

Didn't work for me lol. My Wi-Fi connection with 5G was 171.9 before I did it. After I did it it went down to around 1.50.5 - 1.65.1 Mbps. But either way I'm happy with my speed overall I just wanted to try it.
My Mbps went up is that a good thing or bad thing
The higher the Mbps the better, Mbps means how much data can you internet transfer in megabits where download is receive and upload is send. If you’re wondering what is a megabit then in simple terms 8 megabits is equivalent to 1 megabyte. Hope that helps.

First of all i use ps4 which only supports 2.4ghz connection and second my internet speed is 100mbps and when i speed test i get 50-60mbps download with 68ping and third i play cod mw3 multiplayer and u can imagine with all the sbmm/Eomm how i manage to unlock mastery camos😂

Googles routers are THE worst. No comparison, Netgear has millions of years of tradition and experience and they are reliable. The latency is constant and persistent.
Had spectrum out last night as ps5 pulling 76 mb… tech suggested mesh router.

Followed these settings. Have 1 gig internet and only getting 460mbps on Ethernet connected to the 5gb port. Have an Xbox that gets a constant 900mbps on a WiFi extender. Can’t pin point the issue.
