THANK YOU!! Searched for a ton of solutions and this was the last one I was going to try before buying a whole new gimbal. The stick calibration was the only solution that worked
DUDE, THANK YOU. I was definitely experiencing drifting issues for months. I also recommend using”System Calibration” option in the menu, I did that once and it stopped my drifting issue immediately (Did so right after double clicking the center position button)
Same for me - fixed drifting issue. I am still unclear on sport mode. Press and holding M is not doing it. I dont think you are supposed to simultaneously hold trigger. That doesn't work either.
Yes - my SC worked great for a year until the last firmwear update. Then it started drifting. So frustrating, and embarrassing when I was doing a BTS for a feature. I made sure I was excellent on the 3 axis balance- then I calibrated joystick, still drifting. - Then I did this bit with the Joint Axis in this video- Then it wouldn't stop spinning. Oh No! - So then - in order - I 'restored the gimbal set up' on the app, powered the gimbal off, removed the app from my cel phone, installed it again, signed in etc.. - powered the gimbal back on to connect to the app, balance test, then auto tune, - Joystick calibration- seems to be working without the drift... Fingers crossed it stays. Thanks for making this resource -
Oh my lord! I've been searching to find out how to do this and was about to give up. Thank you, kind sir, for making this information available!!!! (Yes I am happy now my RS2 is pointing perfectly straight, lol)
I've tried tapping Joint Angle for 5 seconds, 15, 20, 60 seconds and nothing happens. The issue I am having is the gimbals Roll isn't level at standstill (off by about 1 degree left or right), the more I turn either with my body or with the joystick in either direction the roll goes off by a maximum of 5 degrees and when I stop moving it takes about a minute to reset back to about 1 degree off horizontal. Any idea what might be wrong here? (Roll smooth track is also OFF)
Hey thanks for this, But it doesn't seem to work for me: I got to the menu, adjusted the roll which was a bit off, and then press ok, as indicated. But if I double click the trigger it goes back to the off roll position before the adjustment. Any ideas? thanks a mill
Thanks so much for this explanation. I'm having trouble with my roll and hoped you'd explain that later in the video. Can you tell me how to adjust the roll with the "joint angle" feature. I can only move tilt and pan with the joystick or am I missing something here?
My ronin S is perfectly balanced and doesnt drift but for some odd reason it leans to the right, so even when im holding the camera straight on, my frame is crooked. Should i do the last calibration? Please help
The stick trick has worked twice for me now, thank you! I really appreciate you making this video...until finding it, I was tempted to just toss the gimbal
My camera GH5S is not levelled . It's levelling to the right when in resting posotion after tapping the back button twice. motor parameters did not work with this. I'm using a DJI ronin SC with the latest firmware. The balance was excellent but when turning gimbal on it's off level.
Hello! I have balanced all well, auto tuned, balance tested, but still does not center. I tried several times fixing joint angle by offset calibration. It says “offset callibration successful” but when I recenter it drifts and centers tilted. What should I do? Please help!!!
I’m using an iPhone and once I click “ok” to set my new joint angle, it doesn’t calibrate. Instead, the window just goes away and nothing happens. Any ideas? I wish this would work. Thumbs up for the vid though
@@AlecKarakashian-HighCamFly- Hey! I recently upgraded to the S2 Buuuuuuut. I was able to get my S1 working again thanks to DJI's app update. There a now a few more re calibration features in the app that should take care of the problem. It fixed mine. Update the ronin's firmware and the app. You should be all good.
Me my problem is the balancing, it is no longer balancing well but yall are just into some other topics. No matter better you balance is the camera keep falling when you want to test the balance. Either you leave it fixed on horizontal/vertical but once you wanna pan the camera to test the stiffness then it falls, the motors are dead or what?
I have a balance problem in tilt axis, it doesn't stay pointing upwards as they say in balancing guide it just doesn't, i tried a lot. Even balancing test says all excellent but it doesn't stays.
I realize this is 2 years old but how do I recalibrate the joystick on the RSC 2? I tried the 4 trigger press and hold on the RSC2 and nothing happens. I went through the user manual and can't find anything about it. The app has a warning message saying to calibrate the joystick (specifically) and restart but doesn't tell me how and isn't an actionable notification. I've gone through the app, the manual, the on board menu, and nothing. I've reset the gimbal, calibrated the system, the horizontal axis, the standard gimbal calibration (comes back excellent on all axes) and still drifting. The app registers joystick feedback when not touched and I get an error code of 1013 which no one seems to know about. :(
Havent tried it yet but sounds like an easy fix. These gimbals are complicated and it takes a while to learn all these functions to get it working professionally. Not a beginners item
Guys help, What to do if my joint angle is ok, BUT.. Target Attitude and ATTI is wrong, both shows 0 35 0 and even when i try to balance test, somehow program shows Current gimbal incline angle 30" EVEN if its on flat straight surface
Hi I had my gimbal off center and your method worked out very well. I just bought my first ronin s. My unit works fine according to what I've been learning. However I have two questions that you might be able to answer, I use a canon 5dMarkiii and a Tamron 24/70 most of the time 1. After Autotune, the motors seem to be quite noisy, they have a constant grinding sound. Is this normal? 2. All the motors have a random crack sound as I gently operate the gimbal. I've seen a few videos around showing the same issue. Do you think that my unit is faulty?
My ronin has become shit! I can’t even update the firmware because it’s “not connected” to the computer but it is. DJI tech support sucks and i’m really about to upgrade to another gimbal or stedicam. I hate when I go on a job and it acts up. Super embarrassing in front of clients.
Thanks for the very detailed and clear explanation. My issue with my Ronin S is that it consistently points slightly downwards and slightly to the right. I tried your solution but to no avail. In fact, after I press "OK" for the Offset Callibration, the "Offset callibration succed" notification does not appear and the gimbal will just return to the incorrect position once I try to bring it back to the reset position. I'm not sure if you have any guidance in this regard but any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
@@redlinestudio4242 I was able to resolve the issue after I recieved these instructions from DJI: 1.Update your Ronin APP to the latest version. 2.Before power on your gimbal please ensure it has been balanced well. 3.connect gimbal to Ronin APP and do the balance test in Ronin APP. After passing the balance test: 4.Go to Ronin APP>Motor parameters>Auto tune 5.Go to Ronin APP>Status>System calibration 6.Go to Ronin APP>Status>Advanced system calibration After advanced system calibration, this issue should be resolved.
Very good to know!! One question.. would you recommend using a bubble level on the hot shoe if this last resort calibration is needed when setting the joint angles?
Probably yes if the camera does not have anything build in, The GH5 has a built in level meter so it’s easy to do bit of you don’t then you would want to set it up somehow to show it, tbh if it’s your eye showing it’s off your probably better setting it by eye as regardless of if perfectly level you will be happy with it that way. Sometimes level don’t even look right at times lol.
Peace be upon you, how are you, brother Ronnie S, when they turned on just as well and gave me an error saying that an error was detected in the joystick. Turn on the automatic adjustment of the joystick. My dear brother, what is the solution
Have you tried calibrating the joystick, on the trigger Tap four times then hold to calibrate the joystick. Move the joystick in all directions then tap four times and hold to complete the calibration
You seem to know a lot about Ronin gimbals! I wonder if you can help on this one. I have the SC and when I set up a motion lapse with more than a 120 deg pan, the gimbal (on a flat surface, calibrated and autotune) starts the camera all level to begin the motion, but about 1/2 way through the level starts to go off. It begins with a small amount of tilt error, then the roll goes out and this stays like that until pan is complete. Then the gimbal sets itself level. So clearly the gimbal can pan level across a wide arc, but in motion lapse, it seems to get the wrong feedback and stays off level. btw, using GH5 and it displays level markings. I already have a conversation going with Ronin, but they are a bit slow...
Yes I have seen this my self actually, at the end of the action it self levels and you think what, I also seen it on GH5. Are you on the latest firmware as mine went away after updating and doing the new calibration to help with this called Advanced calibration.
