PAN RE-BALANCE ISSUES READ THIS POST!!! Soooo...I run the balance test on the app (10th time is the charm right?): Tilt: Excellent, Roll: Excellent, Pan RE-BALANCE NEEDED. So I decide after watching about 5 of these videos that I can't be that dense. So, as with all things new and technical, I decide to do the firmware update. BOOM! problem solved!!! Excellent now appears for all three. Ah...I'm not an idiot ...the app told me so! Please save yourself some frustration and do the firmware update FIRST. I'm not sure why not a single video mentions this but that's all it took! I hope this helps at least one other person.
Hey has anyone encountered drift to the left or right? I got all the checks and green lights and an audible ping, but it's a pain in the butt. I've resolved to a 50 bucks slider !!
Out of all the tutorials... this was THE BEST ONE, I liked yours better than DJI’s one, I just got my ronin s for my channel yesterday and this video helped so much 👍🏼
The tip of facing the camera straight up to adjust the motor on the side is the craziest, more beneficial piece of info that I learned from this lol I never thought of that and I’ve been taking so long getting it just right but that speeds up balancing so much!🙃
Amazing tutorial, but I have one issue! At 2:15 when balancing this tilt axis, (pointing upwards) it works great for one of my set-ups but for my b-cam with a much lighter set up, the Ronin S slidey thing physically can't move any further back even though the camera hasn't been balanced yet. It's all the way, yet the camera keeps falling. I don't understand how to fix this issue! HEEELP!
I’m struggling so hard with the second balance check when the lens points towards the ceiling. I’m using a Sony a6300 with the 18-105mm f/4 lens but it just always falls done. I have it basically on 0 for that adjustment. I just got this today and have been at this for two hours. Can’t even use it :(
Yes Kitty!!! You just helped me do my first barrel roll!! 😂😂💪🏼 I couldn’t do it and thought I had it balanced right, I’m using the same lens so this balance video was so clutch! Your amazing!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
Fantastic tutorial! I'm planning on upgrading to the f2.8 24-70 as soon as the A7SIII is out, so very nice to know this gimbal can handle that front heavy beast :)
I watched this last night, then went to practice mounting my A7iii with the Sony 24-70. The first thing I noticed is how the mounting plate in snug against the zoom ring. So basically I have to know what focal length I am shooting at when I mount it. I was planning on using this to run and gun during concerts, so I wish this wasn't the case.
It's June 11, 2020. I rebalance this thing like.. twice or three times a year max. I'm still coming back here to double check I'm doing it right, haha.
Hi, I am trying to balance dji ronin S. But very first step when you put camera upside and leave, for you it's stable but for me it just fell down to vertical position and never stay at top. I have tried all possible options but still it is not balanced at all.. I followed each single step you showed.. Can you where am I going wrong?
I like the multi-cam edit on this, nice job! It must add to production time, but it seems worth trying out when making content. I never seem to leave enough cropping area in my single camera talking clips to crop-in when I need to cut. Two cameras might make it easier in a way and I wouldn't have to crop 1080p source footage.
If I mount the A7iii with 24-105 the way you did, the zoom-ring gets blocked by the plate, making it impossible to change focal length. Any workaround for that?
Trying to balance my sony a7s ii on a DJI Ronin S and I'm having issues balancing the TILT axis. Every video says 'when it maintains its position you'll know it's balanced. But mine won't stay still it just flops forwards and backwards. I read something about using the camera riser plate to prop it but I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out can SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP??
Question for you. I also have the GM 24-70 on my A7rIII and recently, on my ronin m when I zoomed the 24-70, the zoom ring rubbed on the bracket plate causing my zoom ring to bubble. Have you had balance issues when using the higher plate to prevent the zoom ring from rubbing?
I have literally the same exact setup and for some reason, the roll axis wont balance correctly for both sides. It can twist 45 degrees to the right but not the left.. anyone know whats going on ?

After testing the Tilta Gravity GIIX and the DJI Ronin S, is there any difference or better feature on any of them? Do you still prefer TILTA? I am deciding between those two but have not found anyone, who had the chance to test both...What to buy, thats the question...
Hello atola thanks for the wonderful tutorial! I have a rode vid mic pro. The issue is that it is just big enough that it hits the motor when trying to balance. Do you think it will be a problem to just balance the camera and put it on after? Or will this damage the gimbal or put it off balance? Do you have experience with this?
I usually use wireless mics when I use mics with gimbals such as a lav. It's easier to deal with. If you still want to use the Rode mic def balance it with everything on beforehand. You might not be able to do crazy angles like inversions caz it might hit the back axis, but it will work. But yes attach first than balance
This one is way Better then the DJI "how to balance" video ! 😂 best BBG you've ever handle hei😂 not too thick not to slim. grip is nice also that texture, gotta go into that details in your review 😜😅 Ronin S Bimbal
your a staying late person lol yea go on to DJI channel nothing fun about it, gotta say doing editing late at night is best, don't know why but head is in the zone, here in Montreal (Canada) it's around 4am
Great vid. Where we’re all these balancing videos two years ago? Wait....the gimbals sucked back then and no one uses em. LOL Quick question for the community: any bag recommendations for carrying an A7iii wih a lens, a second Tele prime, and this Robin S?
yaw is movement on the vertical axis. Put out your hand straight, keep it straight, and move your wrist left and right. :) Maybe try to update your firmware.
I balance it at 40mm but when I change focal lengths, it'll bounce/throw off the balance if i change the zoom. Anyone have any tips or advice? Seem like it can't handle the focal length change.. but seen most reviews saying that the motors are strong enough to do so. Please reply me :)
Thank you so much for this! I just balanced my Ronin properly for the very first time lmao. You did such a good job explaining ☺️
This was the video that helped me balance my Ronin S with the 24-70 GM - clear and to the point.
Thank you.

This was the best tutorial for balancing the ronin s, great work!
Finally found a teacher I can understand! Boom! Balanced! Thank you!
This is the best tutorial I've found!
Thank you gimbal queen! I’ll be coming back to this video once I get my Ronin.

So happy to hear this helped ❤️
Is there a way you can turn of the ding start up noise?
I only use my S once a month or so. I STILL COME BACK TO THIS VID EVERY TIME I NEED TO BALANCE. Why can't I just remember?!
That beautiful motor sound didn't alarm me but it did make me crave some espresso. Another well done video.
Pahaha. drank up!
just got ours! best balancing video by far...
Great tutorial. Helped me figure out my “tilt”
Thanks Kitty for the initial peak at the DJI Ronin-S. Looking forward to the full review.
Hope you like it!!
Thanks for this video. I'm sure I'll be watching it a few times before I memories the steps. Lol! Thanks again.
I'm glad your video came up when searching for videos on the Ronin S and the Sony 24-70. I'd add the 24-70GM to your title for faster searching. :)

awww I just got my first gimbal and I felt you're talking to me
I really enjoy your videos. Followed your step by step on DJI Ronin S, and it works perfectly! You are one of my favorite channels. Thank you!
The best video I've found on this topic. You're WONDERFUL!!!
Thanks Kitty. Mine has been collecting dust as I got tired of the unit not calibrating. I'll give it another go. Thanks Gumble Girl
I'm so excited to get mine in the mail. Also, obsessed with your hair. So pretty!
Awesome. Can't wait till you get yours soon too!
Best video I’ve seen on balancing! Thanks!
Lighting is on point!
This video saves me every time 😁 Thank you so much 🙏

same!!! I have the Sony a6500 with the same lens. It's killing me
there`s an extension plate shipped with the ronin s. Just put it between camera and the actual ronin plate
bro same issue with a6300 kit lene, it doesn't point upwards. Did you find any solution?
@@TheBoyWithDreams Somehow I managed to get it working. I can't remember exactly what I did wrong! It is possible though!
@@chasingbrews You mean you found a solution to that and you it stayed facing upwards? Can you think and guide me bro.
Nice! Looking forward to the review :)
Soon!!
Yes Kitty!!! You just helped me do my first barrel roll!! 😂😂💪🏼 I couldn’t do it and thought I had it balanced right, I’m using the same lens so this balance video was so clutch! Your amazing!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
SO glad this helped you out. There's a world of unbalanced gimbals out there that I hope to save soon. :)
Fantastic tutorial! I'm planning on upgrading to the f2.8 24-70 as soon as the A7SIII is out, so very nice to know this gimbal can handle that front heavy beast :)
Will that camera ever come out? lol this gimbal will handle it like a champ
Fingers crossed for September! Hopefully by then DJI will have more cameras supported :)

Notification squad for life!
Drop errrything. New video up! haha
atola visuals Always! Nothing more important than watching that fresh new vid the moment it drops!!! 😂
I LOVE YOUR SONY CAMERA!
Awesome tutorial! Saved. I’m buying the Ronin soon, so definitely will need to look back at this video to help me balance mine 🙈
Best explanation ever!
Oh nice! Glad it helped!
Can't wait to give this a try later today with my Canon 70D and Crane 2! Thank you for the tutorial video =D !
SpectreRobin You got this! 💪
It's June 11, 2020. I rebalance this thing like.. twice or three times a year max. I'm still coming back here to double check I'm doing it right, haha.

Yay a Gimboooo tutorial! Now I gotta make some money in order to get me one! 😂
GroovyMotion Gimbo! 🙌🙌🙌 lots of Gimbo vids this month
Awesome kitty! 😊
GroovyMotion I'm watching this and still don't have a gimbal. Glad I'm not alone.
Pando yeah and I want one for my phone as well. Might happen much sooner since it is much cheaper.
Ill be shooting a phone gimbal video later this month!
Can you plz do a updated version since that last update it changed alot
You're so boss! IDGAF about the gimbal, but you really know your stuff.
Thanks so much Steve! I try my best. :D
Liked and subscribed! Waiting for my Ronin S to come into stock here in the UK! Keep making these awesome videos please! 👌🏼👍🏼
What type of witchcraft do you all use to balance the camera up? mine just falls all the time
What message you should get from the app after auto tune, if you tune it correctly?
on my Ronin-S the numbers on the Quickplate are the opposite direction... Maybe a newer version. Why don't you use the lens-support?
My ronin s roll axis motor not balanced properly while stopping on 45 angle what should i do??

best tutorial, thank you!!
on ronin sc it doesnt matter how much i move my camera to the left or right, it would always swing right or left
Great tutorial! Just got my Ronin S today (Christmas Gift!).... and I forgot that last motor! Appreciate‘cha!
Best tutorial on this.
Why didn’t you use the riser or lens support ?
I like the multi-cam edit on this, nice job! It must add to production time, but it seems worth trying out when making content. I never seem to leave enough cropping area in my single camera talking clips to crop-in when I need to cut. Two cameras might make it easier in a way and I wouldn't have to crop 1080p source footage.
Not too much extra. Im pretty used to multicam editing by now lol. Syncing is so easy in FCPX and Premiere now.
is it totally silent when it's on? or is there some motor noise?
Thank you, Kitty, for the tutorial!
Thanks Apple!
If I mount the A7iii with 24-105 the way you did, the zoom-ring gets blocked by the plate, making it impossible to change focal length. Any workaround for that?
Try moving the quick plate back. It doesn't move at all or is it just a little more difficult?
Great video! Waiting on your full review 🙂
Thanks for watching! Currently getting edited!
atola visuals Yay😀
i love you so much that I would watch your videos even if I had no gimbal at all, or camera gear 🤦♂️😁
Daw
thank you for the detailed explanation!!!!
Do you have any problems with the viewfinder colliding with the back motor on the 24 70 Gm?
Great vid!

Which one do you like better? the ronin s or the crane 2?
The answer to that video will be released next month :P Just shot that video
That's a long time to wait. :P
Thank you soooooooooooo much you really helped me out
Can it be that my camera is too light? I have a Sony nex7 with 530g weight
Possibly. This is better for heavier camera setups. I'll have a review comin out for a gimbal for smaller payloads
Dope, thank you
Nice to know! Ill support you bc we need more female creator!
Thank you for the help!!
great! glad you found it helpful.
Thank you for the video ! Awesome
2:34 There yah gooo HAHAHAHA love it
every time I run the balance test, it says the yaw is bad. what is the yaw? can anyone help?
yaw is movement on the vertical axis. Put out your hand straight, keep it straight, and move your wrist left and right. :) Maybe try to update your firmware.

DJI - Hire this person...

Looks heavy, i have tge ronin m but i wanna get this 😊
It's definitely heavier than others, but it's super steady
@@atolavisuals I can imagine if it has c100 or c200 . It will be a work out hee hee. Thanx for the rep, will consider getting it this Xmas 😊
I think i love you.
her hair is fire
will this work with cannon c100 mk2?
I'd check the payload
Subscribing now please give me some advice I have a canon 70d, T5i and T3i can you give me advice on getting clients in video and photography?
Kitty, Sweet tips. Very straight forward. Now if I could just get my Ronin S, I could use it.
Never had to precisely balance my Zhiyun-Tech Crane v2, it simply knows what to do all by itself.
lol lucky you
I love Galancing my Bimble
I love you! thank you
Very good thank you
I have a Ronin s but i can't balance properly and i have Sony a9
Please help me
YOUR POOR MID BACK lol this thang is heavy !!! How do you not let your back get destroyed?
I balance it at 40mm but when I change focal lengths, it'll bounce/throw off the balance if i change the zoom. Anyone have any tips or advice? Seem like it can't handle the focal length change.. but seen most reviews saying that the motors are strong enough to do so. Please reply me :)
Did you balance it in the middle range of your zoom focal lengths?
i did it around 40mm as u said in your video ,. is it wrong ?. by the way if u zoom (70mm) for a long time will it pan down slowly ?
