    I was thrilled to come across your video. When I first configured my DJI RSC 2 a few days ago it worked fine. Then it worked intermittently. So your solution made sense to me as the handle could have worked loose. Thing is when I opened and closed the handle as you described it still moves to the backward position. I would appreciate hearing any new findings related to this issue. Thanks again for sharing!

      For anyone else looking for a solution other than returning it to DJI, this just fixed mine. It's nothing to do with dirty connections the gimbal thinks it's in Briefcase Mode. Fix by doing this: 1. With a camera mounted and the balanced gimbal switched off, open / unfold the gimbal and hold it in Briefcase Mode 2. switch on the gimbal and it will be of course working fine (at this point I thought 'great at least I can use it in this mode') 3. double tap the trigger to reset position 4. with the gimbal still on, close and lock the handle so that you're holding the gimbal in Flashlight Mode i.e. in a straight line 5. double tap the trigger again to reset position 6. raise the gimbal in to Upright Mode and just to reassure youths fixed, double tap the trigger to reset position. Et voila.
      I auto tuned the gimbal before reset but it was obvious by it's behaviour that this had fixed the problem. Good luck and hope this saves people a few bucks, I was about to buy a new one. Cheers!

    I tried that with mine but no go. It keeps thinking it's folded. The fold design is weak. That's why they probably didn't use it again in the third iteration. If you notice as well they changed the knobs to tighten the gimbal, as that was another issue on my gimbal it wouldn't tighten even if I tighten it all the way

    • @JustinBradleyPhotographer
      @JustinBradleyPhotographer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry it didn't solve it for you. You bring up a great point though. I have not had this problem yet but you aren't the only person who has said this. I think the only reason, with how often I use it, that I have not had this issue is because I have not folded it up since I made the video. I literally keep it locked in operating position and strap it to my pack next to my tripod.

    I like the video, but i hate when people take long to get to the meat of the video. At least add chapters so people can skip all the unnecessary talking.

    • @JustinBradleyPhotographer
      @JustinBradleyPhotographer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally get it. And ouch you just forced me to rewatch this video and man it's bad lol. I was getting bad advice from creators when I created this video. I too would watch videos and get so annoyed with all of the BS you had to wade through to get to the meat and then you finally get to it and BLAM TH-cam runs an unskippable ad. lol I feel your pain for sure and I'd like to think I am better than more than 90% of what I see out there but I am in agreement with you on this one. Definitely one of my more wordy videos and I went into it with the idea of getting right to the point. If the audience for this video was not dwindling by the day I'd be more motivated to re-do it, and I still might. I've been really focused on theme lately and growing my audience around "photography, adventure, VLOG, (with professional insight into my profession, photography added along the way)" and less around "how to solve X" because what I have found is the "how to solve X" crowd is one and done, they are not vested in you, your channel or anything else you have going on. They are on a one track to solve "X" and get back to "X" ASAP, which means closing their browser and getting off of TH-cam after solving the issue and that has not been great activity for this growing channel vs the theme I am currently working on which has added 10 times the subs in a 28 day period when compared to the video we are discussing now which rarely generates a sub.
      Btw congrats on hitting 10k, from what I hear you are over the greatest hurtle! My friend is just about to crack 1 million on his first channel and fast approaching 200k on his second. In both cases (and people he has collaborated with in the past) he has found by far the hardest was getting to 10k.

    This won't happen on a Ronin-S because it doesn't have that swivel snap into place type neck. Useful to know for anyone with this type of Ronin though.

    • @JustinBradleyPhotographer
      @JustinBradleyPhotographer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I am wishing that I grabbed the ronin s2 instead of rsc2. The d780 I use is listed as compatible, and it is. The problem is when I put the 24-120mm and a rose mic, the rode mic becomes the straw that broke the camel's back. It starts shaking like I do when I surf California winters. Definitely looking forward to eventually upgrading. Thanks again!

    • @TenthElementGraphics

      @@JustinBradleyPhotographer get an extension handle for your gimbal with a cold shoe mount and then you can throw accessories (microphone/monitor/light) onto it and it won't add to the camera payload. Let me shoot you a link to the one I picked up for my ronin-s

    • @TenthElementGraphics
      @TenthElementGraphics 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JustinBradleyPhotographer See, check it out. Get that or something like that that's compatible with yours. take a look at the very last photo of it, how it shows a monitor connected to it. You could put your mic there. I like this design because you can hold your gimbal with two handles, but still reach the gimbal controls. Unlike ones with two handles where you're holding the left handle and the right handle and your gimbal is in the middle but then you can't reach the controls on the neck of the gimbal. And this way your microphone isn't adding any weight to the motors.

    • @JustinBradleyPhotographer
      @JustinBradleyPhotographer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TenthElementGraphics This is a great piece of advice. I did not even consider that and I have been meaning to to get the SSD and Screen for the D780 so I can start shooting log. I hadn't considered what all of that will do for the weight as well... Damn the more I think about it, I need to get it because it would also solve the problem I have with my Rode Mic picking up the focus motor. Thank you! I'll check it out, I just saw the link you sent to my email.

    • @TenthElementGraphics
      @TenthElementGraphics 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JustinBradleyPhotographer definitely gotta have the mic on board for run and gun shooting, but if you're in any kind of controlled situation I'd usually just opt to connect a mic to a zoom recorder and a boom pole anyway. If it's a sit down interview or something like that I'm always sticking the mic to a mic stand and getting it close to the speaker and wiring it into a small zoom recorder. Then I got a wireless lav setup I'll connect to my cameras onboard mic input. which is great because it's just a tiny box that adds pretty much zero weight to the rig, and it's wireless so you can move freely and your subject can move freely and they'll still be mic'd up nicely. Only time you'll catch me with the Rode ON my mic is in very run and gun situations where there's no time for set up you just gotta pull up and hit record.
