Remember the lake scene in season 2 when magnus and the rest talk about a woman who drowned there years ago, little did they know it was their own mother.
When Katherina was getting dragged into the lake I freaked the fuck out!
holyyy shit
and that's how Jonas found the necklace in the sand, that he gave to Martha
🤯
the lady of the lake
Fun fact: the boy who plays young Peter is the real life son of the actor who plays older Peter.
So that’s why they look SOOOO similar
And the middle are older origin guy too
@@lukaLondaridze People keep calling that and yet Pablo looks much more like his mother.
@ChinoCute the middle origin guy and the older origin guy are father and son in real life
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Nikita giving the fans what we want to see... 🦶
The quietness of the scene inside the trailer truck between peter, elizabeth and the perv is probably the most depressing thing ever.
Reminds me of The Road
@@JakeTS1992 most depressing book that I have read.
Yeah, I would say that this is by far the saddest/most depressing episode of the show (which is truly saying something). I remember being so tensed and horrified during the whole scene Elizabeth, her dad and the stranger. As soon as the man sat down next to her with his beans I could feel where this was going.
It also really messed me up when I realised that back in season 2, Magnus and Martha were swimming in the lake and joking about the ghostly drowned lady with their mother's corpse at the bottom literally right underneath them. Fun times, am I right? :)
@@imetacrab Oh yeah, that might be right, I forgot about that! Still pretty chilling though
@@imetacrab For me the most depressing episode was the second last one because while watching that I felt that the cycle can't be broken and all this depressing shit will always keep on happening forever in an infinite loop
Her body was found before they went swimming.
Comic relief, DARK style:
Martha - I thought about what you said at the lake.
Jonas - About grandmas? And the internet?
Dark becomes more and more clear on a second watch btw. The script is almost flawless written, everything can be followed in the end even it makes no sense on the first watch. The path of the St. christoper medal alone is hell of a writing job through 3 seasons. Those little things alone make the show a masterpiece on its own.
You definitely need to watch it again to understand it. I can answer you but that would be a spoiler for everyone. Your answer lies in both episode 7 and episode 8.
@@jdecore3895 They explain quantum entanglement in 3x6. Kind of hard to explain, but the jonas that dies is not the same as the one that grows up
@@jdecore3895 that's why he said you need a rewatch.
@@jdecore3895 because * *spoilers* * just like there are 2 different Marthas that are the same age (one with the big scar and the other with just a small scar), there are also 2 Jonas. They are the only characters in the whole show that have split into 2, and that happened during the apocalipse, when, according to Eva, time stopped for a second. And since time had stopped, all characters had actual free will, and Eva udes that moment of free will to send Bartosh to send Martha to rescue Jonas.
Then there are two Jonas:
* one that didn't get rescued and grew up to become Adam
* and the one that did, and died in Martha's world
And two Marthas:
* one that went to rescue Jonas, got the big scar, killed him and became Eva
* and one who didn't even know him before he showed up at her school
This is all the show's explanation, I didn't get it at first either, I'm actually surprised I was able to explain all of this right now lol
too bad it uses the same paradoxes over and over again for shock value
Young Ellie actress deserves a bunch of awards for that scene. I think she was only 11 or 12 when that was filmed.
She said in an interview that it was her favourite scene, because it had so much action.
She was 12 years old (born 2007).
Ulrich (although he is not my favourite character and he has a lot of flaws) waiting for Katharina was pretty heartbreaking.
Honestly, seeing his face in that scene, knowing the brutal end Katharina had just faced, and understanding that Ulrich was now doomed to die alone without ever having a hope of getting his family back... That was the first time I properly cried in the entire show. It gutted me. His character has many flaws, but we were still taken so deeply into his journey that a part of me had kept hoping he'd be able to achieve his goal. I feel like part of me died when Katharina did.
Dark's ability to make me feel anxious the entire time watching it, even on re-watch, is incredibly impressive. This episode is violently uncomfortable almost the entire time.
Did you catch the easter egg? Katherina is the dead lady of Lake that Bartosz was mentioning back in season 2.
The family tree being jonas' wings was a pretty cool shot.
This episode is the most brutal of the whole series. The trailer scene is still super difficult to watch, even edited down like this.
yeah. most asian movies have scenes like this
Man Katerina’s death hit me as hard as Hodor “the door”
All she wanted to do was save her man and her child and to be killed by your own mother?!! That is just the saddest thing I ever saw. 😭😭😭 🕯
All the rest of the episodes moving forward are so good can’t wait to see their reaction 😂
The saddest part is that, in the end, Katharina couldn't break free from her mother's violence even as an adult.
I think Katharina is one of the only characters in the show with very minimal flaws. She gets abused her entire childhood, she gets cheated on by her husband who she has 3 kids with. Even after all the abuse she went through, she never let the cycle continue in her family. She was never like Helene to her kids.
Very interesting comment from Suraj where he compares Evas world and says her names are basically written in stone where as Adams names are written in pen/chalk... that's because in Adams world everyone is trying to change/destroy the world/timeline whereas in Evas world they are doing everything to preserve it. Its all in the details.
I think the scene in the trailer is so well done. You can really feel how helpless and scared Elizabeth is.
I love how this show is so "Dark!" that by the time we get to season three, fans are like this is too cruel just end everything/ everyone lmao
The dark finale is one of the best episodes in the history of any tv shows.
Not as good as the finale of 12 Monkeys 🤗
@@sandcake will have to watch it then .. 💛
@@sandcake I really liked 12 Monkeys but the writing was not nearly as good (lots of filler and they dragged it on too long) and that ending isn't fully explained. Its a really satisfying way to end it, but to get there they really had to make you suspend you disbelief in order for it to be a happy ending for everyone. Dark dealt with the same kind of thing much more realistically while still giving a satisfying ending. That being said, 12 Monkeys is definitely worth a watch and one of my favorite shows form the past decade.
@@JimmyRussle Personally, I prefer the character development in 12 Monkeys. Dark has always preferred the puzzle over people. It was exciting, but I wasn't as touched. Dark is very german in the structure and feeling (pure misery). I prefer some comedic relief, like 12 Monkeys did. The story in general in Dark is excellent and I think s2e5 is one of the greatest episodes ever produced. The whole production of Dark is outstanding, Bo is just one of the most kick ass artists of our time. But still emotionally, I prefer 12 Monkeys - that finale left me weeping for hours :)
I didn't think it was anything special, to be honest. It was good, but it was understated - which, don't get me wrong, I really appreciated because it'd been a long while since I'd watched a show that didn't completely screw up its ending by trying too hard to impress. Still, "one of the best" doesn't apply for me.
"Where is the levity?"
We germans aren't known for that
And I prefer it like that! Serious dramas FTW
Unless it’s your comedy police shows. I don’t get it but the spouse loves that Tatort
21:21 "WHERE IS THE LEVITY?" Welcome to Germany.
Based on what I’ve seen in this show I have no desire to travel to Germany.
@@dodapictures2141 I'm glad to tell you there's a difference between tv and reality then lol
Nikki saying "We have to go back" made my day

27:10
Suraj :You got a boyfriend
Rana : who?
😂😂😂😭😭
You Remember? When magnus, Martha and Bartoz are swimming in the pond they mention. That there is a dead lady in the lake?
" I'm so confused" I can literally tell this might be the hundredth time they said this from season 1 😂
I made myself the same question.
I finished watching the episode an hour ago and I was waiting for your reaction. To me, this is one of the saddest episode so far. So much happened, so many died,I can't wait to see how the series end.
I love how utterly confused you all are at the post-episode discussion 🤣...I'm so excited! 3 more episodes to go
And it's not even the most confusing yet😂😂
"And there will be no comfort for you. No comfort to ease the pain of his passing. Jonas will come to death, an image of the splendor of the time travellers in glory undimmed before the breaking of the world."
Katarina is the lady in the lake! This show is so good and so fucked up. I love it so much!!
in that lake scene in S2, Jonas and the rest talk about a women who drowned there..and it was actually Katherina..!!
Yea "lady in the lake" I didn't catch it myself the first watch
This is still fresh for me even if its almost a year ago
This is probably the best episode of the whole show. So devastating!
Im glad that Suraj noticed that the epusode ends wirh a really sad music. It always gives me hard chills listening to that mysic bc that is OUR jonas, the one we've been followint from the beginning although there are many versions of him you know. But OUR jonas died right there and then. Also notice how that tree of families looks like wings bc he died truly a good person not like adam
when Katarina's mother killed her daughter, I was so sad(like Suraj at 19:27), and not only for her, but also for the Ulrich, after all, he was waiting for her, and I'm almost sure that he thought that she also left him, like Hannah ... it's just f***ed up
So excited for the answers to start flowing! They are going to be so happy lol
This what they call “Ultimate mind fuck”. I got head aches binging it nonstop. But the creators undo every knot they made. These creators are making new series on Netflix. Waiting for that.
5:50 we realized the importance of this scene so late.
its crazy they wrap this up so well from here in only 3 episodes.
Why isn't Nikki in most of your reactions ? She is amazing and I want to see her reacting other series too ..
Ranas reactions made my day. :) You three are killing it, thanks for your share.
Man I really wished we could have seen Marketa and Chris reaction.
"Have fun" is so Chris oh my god
11:45 Well if you remember season one well you might find that it was Jonas who planted this idea in teenage Charlotte's head the first time they met in the woods (Alpha und Omega, episode 10, around the 30 minute mark). At the time she thought he was crazy but now she is obsessed with the idea.
18:50 And this is where it is important to understand that Helene has indeed had an abortion 33 years ago. She thinks that adult Katharina is the child she got rid off and that has come from hell to torment her... and break a satanist from the mental ward.
Others have already pointed out that in 2x06 Magnus told the story of his mother being drowned in the lake.
24:32 Let's take a second to talk about the imagery here. Jonas is sourrounded by these angelic wings that are the family tree but also he is bleeding out on the mark of the infinty symbol that represents his son. In a sense this symbolizes him giving his life (rather involuntarily) for his son. But if we consider the fact that Jonas' gunshot wound mirrors Martha's gunshot wound we cannot ignore the repeated dream/memory of season two. In that memory we saw Jonas and Martha (his Martha) in bed with each other. In the third version, Stranger-Jonas dream, we saw the black goo emerge from Martha's belly foreshadowing the gunshot wound. But it might have also foreshadowed events of this season. The god particle was believed to be the origin of time travel by Claudia throughout season two and is therefore kinda euquivalent to the Unknown who is now considered to be the origin (see also 3x06, Licht und Schatten). So in that dream the particle/origin emerged from Martha's womb as did the Unknown/origin emerge from alt-Martha's womb. The show plays strongly with the symmetry and the idea of the third dimension here, as the picture is not complete unless you consider all three, Jonas, Martha, and alt-Martha.
This must have driven you crazy all week. I binged the whole season on release and still only understood how it worked out later.
So since you watched this 3 week ago means you have watched it all by now?
38:25 @The Normies
Katharina's death is particularly disturbing when you consider that the kids in season 2 talk about the woman in the lake while swimming in the lake.
Thanks to Noah, Peter's death was to be expected. It didn't shock me much, although the way it was very cruel. I have great respect for Carlotta von Falkenhayn's acting performance (Young Elisabeth).
Jonas' death was confusing, but I don't want to say too much about that now. Above all, there were clearly too many Marthas in the room. That couldn't go well;)
my ass cannot relate with these 3 weeks ago comments because I’m broke af 🌝
The guy that played young Peter is older Peter son IRL
And now we enter the realm of that guy’s cat, can’t wait how confuse they’re gonna be.
😂😂😂 That guy’s cat is funny. Schroedinger.
Spoiler
This is part 2 of Season 3 where I almost quit watching Dark, my boy Jonas had 3 terrible seasons and just when he was about to think for himself and then he just DIES
I love dark so much, every season is gold and the finale is beautiful
Don't worry, everything is explained and makes perfect sense by the end.
I dunno, it's been a good year and I still don't really understand S3.
I don't know whether the director of this episode got any awards, but they should've done. Truly the darkest of all Dark episodes, and those deliciously long one-shots were testament to the acting on this show as well.
DARK Reaction Checklist
1. Did two characters have sex?
NO
2. Did a character wake up from a nightmare?
4:35 - Jonas wakes up suddenly after dreaming about HisMartha.

YES - Spoilers for this are in the first reply comment below.
Speculation spoilers below, reader discretion is advised...
!!!!! SPOILERS !!!!!
6:20 - "Did Elizabeth and Charlotte drop herself [BabyCharlotte] off?" - Yes! As you'll see in the near future, One-Eye Elizabeth and Post-Apoc Charlotte end up stealing Long-Haired Elizabeth's baby and traveling back to deliver her to H. G. Tannhaus to raise. This completes Charlotte's cycle.
The discussion about how Middle Jonas and Adam could exist is pretty amusing to watch, but they didn't figure out that twist yet.
Crazy episode, one of the best of the show probably.
27:09 Nahid suffered a far worse blow than Katharina did this episode

He protecc

I love how mirrored it is for Elizabeth and Katharina in this episode, Elizabeth kills a man for her father whereas Katharina is murdered by her own mom, how fucking tragic
who says the third season is trash, are they crazy? hell of a season, hell of a final, hell of a series!! periodt.
People who either do not get the science behind it or the purposeful suspension of science. Because both happen. And people completly miss that this was secretly telegraphed in episode 1x04. Well that is at least my interpretation of the ending.
(spoilers, duh)
..
..
In the classroom scene when we see the infinity symbol on the chalk board, the teacher is actually discussing the symbolism of Goethe's Die Wahlverwandschaften. Besides the openly discussed usage of symbolism, symmetry and a similiar main theme the novel is the origin of the German idiom of the red thread which is similar to the golden thread in English.
But most interestingly the novel contains a novella called Die wunderlichen Nachbarskinder. The novella offers a "happy end" solution to the same dilemma that the novel faces but it can only do so since it is more of a fairy tale while the surrounding novel is not... equally most of the events in the final novel seem to take place in a fairytale version of the setting that we observed for three seasons.
@@michaelklaus I don't give a shit about the science or the overarching themes. This season is needlessly torture porn-y and it makes for a miserable watch, particularly in this episode. The characters aren't really done justice with a few exceptions. That being said, I could never call any episode or season of Dark "trash"
@@ultravioletcatastrophe but an important point of the show/plot is that its an eternal cicle of suffering.
@@danielfrey2407 so? That doesn't mean there can't be moments of levity, or heart, or anything other than pure, concentrated misery
Buckle up, you guys. The last three episodes are the craziest and most complicated yet.
It went from introducing new time periods to new worlds and now they are about to see different possibilities within the worlds and how they coexist. I to this day don't understand how there are 2 jonas's
When there is apocalypse the time stops for milliseconds and they can change there fate.
If you watch The Vampire Diaries before Buffy....I feel like even most The Vampire Diaries fans would heavily recommend against that (I've watched both).
21:10 Hannah is the comic relief character. This Is a German show after all... ;) Misery is Levity.
The defeat on your poor faces! I felt exactly the same. Still enjoying your reactions!
I like how young Peter looks SO similar to his older self that, in order to reveal who he is, they just had to show his face lol
"Where do those rooms go?!" hahahah, that was a very good question.
This episode truly lives up to the shows title

I don't know who told you season 3 was trash. It isn't. It's amazing and it makes everything fit together !
I think Katharina is one of the only characters in the show with very minimal flaws. She gets abused her entire childhood, she gets cheated on by her husband who she has 3 kids with. Even after all the abuse she went through, she never let the cycle continue in her family. She was never like Helene to her kids.

It's probably to late, but it would be really cool to see a reaction of you watching the first episode after you finished the series (you are probably watching it again anyhow). It is so amazing to watch it after you finished. It would also fit the whole the end is the beginning theme of the show :-)

This episode is so brutal, it’s excellent (as always) but it’s the one I’m least looking forward to on every rewatch. Brilliant choice on Hozier’s In The Woods Somewhere though, definitely the right vibes
I would love for someone to hear this discussion having not seen the show lmao... they would be like wtf is going on lol

Be aware of the fact, that Noah could not kill Adam. The reason was that an older version of Adam already existed. So if the Stranger and Adam exist, then…
As grim as the scene is, Peter has got an Opinel knife, which is a popular pocket knife in Germany and a really good, practical knife.

You should watch Calls, from Apple TV+ next. You’re definitely gonna freak out! Just make sure you have a good sound system, because it’s a very sensorial hearing experience! Trust me, give it a try!
And by the way, both Lost and Dark are among my favorite shows, so watching your videos was like rewatching them and introducing them to my friends! You’re awesome!
I don't know which death was the worse to me... they were all incredibly violent and sad. That being said, I'm kinda in denial of Jonas' death.
Remember claudia told Jones that she saw a word without Jones and then there is middle Jones who didn't know about other Martha because they never met.
The whole scene with Peter and Elisabeth is so emotional and overwhelming, and the tension leading up to it makes me feel sick every time
You can say that the cycle is happening alternatively. Where one jonas goes to another world and other jonas won't go. Just like martha dies in one cycle and survives in another cycle.
This is definitely the most brutal episode of dark
Oof! I was waiting for your reaction to this one. This is definitely the heaviest episode imo the scene in the trailer is so horrible, it hits different how Noah fits into her life because he's there for her in one of the most horrible days of her life. And seeing Katarina getting abused by her mom after she literally killed her, fucking nightmare.
Great as always, thanks, guys!
This show has a really good element of “sike you thought"
