Years ago, I worked with a gentleman who has ended up testing this very model early in its development cycle. You may find this hard to believe, but the original prototypes were even quieter: they were virtually perfect noise isolation chambers...and they were making drivers and passengers ill. Turns out, the near total lack of noise combined with visual perception of movement and the wonders of our inner ear was causing nausea in a "substantial" proportion of people in the vehicle (I believe it was not most people, but definitely at least 1 in 5)". RR had to re-introduce a little bit of extra sound in both audible and sub audible frequencies to address the problem.
I imagine that the floaty suspension probably adds to that sickness, mixed in with the speed of an electric car that probably wasn’t dialed in all the way, would make an almost flying sensation on the road with no noise. The starlight roof (handmade as it may be) is tacky... thank you for being the only car reviewers bold enough to come out and say that! Awesome video BTW.
As much as people say Rolls Royce’s are boring or overpriced, this car is absolutely worth the money. It’s ridiculously luxurious and so quiet inside that it’s almost unbelievable how silent it is. This car is the king of luxury on the road for its class, there’s not another car on the planet that can compare.

Loved the review, absolutly amazing video with great cinematography on top! The only thing i can complain about is that i'm actually getting tired of car reviews "complaining" about how annoying it is with an EV "if" you run out of charge, while most people who actually own and daily drive one never really run out. The reality is that most of us don't drive 400km+ a day, most city people not even in a week. And if you can charge at home (which you will do if you own a 400k RR) you will basically never drive an empty car. Yes you won't be able to make a super long road trip in one go, but honestly most people will never do that, especially not without the occasional stop. I often have the feeling that its a discussion made on a level as if we experience the "worst case scenario" with our cars every single day..
I agree. IMHO, just about every road trip above 400 km is going to turn annoying around that mark. Someone owning one of these is not going to accept the effort of a several hundred km road trip. They're going to use the car to sail down to the gentleman's club or to the country house from the town house. When they want to travel further, they fly. They might drive themselves to the airport (or to the heliport), then spend the rest of the trip in the air. Traveling to get somewhere is done either in an enjoyable fashion or quickly (or both). Traveling several hundred km by car to get somewhere is neither.
This would be a dream to daily. One of the few cars I want it to be electric. It perfectly suites Rolls Royce. I also agree that the V12 didn’t sound that great

I actually don't mind the LEDs in the doors. The way other brands put "mood lighting" all over the cabin is for me much more tacky than what RR did with their stars in doors. I personally wouldn't spec them, but hey, to each their own, I guess.
10:19 the whole world never got it before. NOW, we get it.
The coolest car test ever done: PERIOD!
Many reviewers have told us about the sound insulation of RR but you guys took it 50 steps further.
Agree
exactly!
You guys need an actual televised show. You guys got that spark that the original top gear guys have
I saw a Spector at this year Goodwood festival of speed. I was at a famous corner on the hill climb and witnessed the Spector cock its wearside wheel. This car was poised and effortless and so so fast. It seemed to bend the law of Physics with so much mass. You just hear a whoosh of air trailing behind and pushed to the side. Yes I expect the driver was using his little pinkie.. That sound test was insane.. A great way of demonstrations the sound proofing. Great vid chaps. Bravo
The goofiness of the review is exactly how most car nerds I know would look at a product like this. Absolutely love it, keep up the great work! (Said this 2 years ago, so clearly you have been lol)
Today on Top Gear James says 'effortlessness' ... oh wait this Throttle House. Great job guys.
Not sure of the practicality of driving a $500,000 car around Toronto, but it sure looks good.
Loved the rock test. The complete noise cancellation when putting the windows up was unbelievable. Gorgeous Spectre....
Steve's Music rocking on the sidewalk... EPIC! 🤣
This was so well put together, it’s excellent!! LOVE it!!!
The observation regarding German shock absorbers "*SINGLE BOUNCE* NEIN! YOU ARE DONE!" make me chuckle 🤣
Fantastic review, outstanding production values and smile inducing commentary all make this one of the best reviews I have ever seen. I don't understand why the TV networks are not beating your door down to get Throttle House on mainstream TV. A perfect replacement for Top Gear !
mainstream tv is a corpse.. that's probably why. They make more online.
They probably enjoy owning the brand ,not selling it off, or selling out to become a cog in a machine
Why would you want it on cable TV. Anybody and everybody can watch it on TH-cam. TV would just ruin it.
What a fantastic video, such high production quality
The way he got tf out of that $20,000 chair lmfao!!! I mentally did the same thing in that exact moment.
This doesn't come as a suprise to me, or anyone else watching, but this was exceptionally good. You guys are dialed. Excellent video. You did the Spectre justice!
This car is an example of modernizing the styling without ruining the design language.
you guys just blew it out of the park. that is easily the best review of the Spectre
you feel it when the camera car is shaking to bits and the Rolls is just gliding over those tramlines. 😊
Kind Sirs, Thank you very much for making this video in Toronto. It is my desert island video. It is my last car video to watch before taking my last breath. I live in Toronto. I love, love, love this. Thank you very much.
Came for the intro, staying for the review.
The Thomas's Furniture Analogy is Perfect
Amazing car and great review. I find that rock band sound test to be unbelieveable....No way a piece of glass can completly block that much noise but somehow it looks real...
Pretty sure it’s not just one piece of glass
A simple piece of glass can't, but sound can't travel through a vacuum, so if there's a vacuum in double glazing, that should do the trick (although I don't actually know if they do that).
It’s double glazed but also there is a lot of noise insulation in the door too
Love all your episodes. You really are the best car channel
Watching a review of a $500,000 Rolls-Royce Spectre on TH-cam is like window shopping in a parallel universe where my budget is the price of a cup of coffee! ☕😄
I prefer going to the pub getting pissed smoking pot snorting cocaine with three mates and the dog in my Honda Civic ,,, having a fist fight pooing on the bonnets of expensive cars on Main Street picking up some girls and saving $499,500 for next weekend i bet i had more fun than you
The starlight roof (handmade as it may be) is tacky... thank you for being the only car reviewers bold enough to come out and say that! Awesome video BTW.
This is your best review to date
The intro never changed at all 😂👍
You guys are just epic car reviewers!! Always make it interesting 🙌🙌🙌
It's a BMW i7 with a Rolls Royce badge. You are happy now?
@@HermanWillems Enjoy being broke. If you’ve ever been in a Rolls Royce, you know the quality is unmatched across all manufacturers and marques across the globe
@@HermanWillems Broke ppl shouldn't be yapping
Amazing review! Love the chemistry you guys have. Keep up the good work!
Really great video guys! Nice change of pace vs drag racing and standard car review.
T: We've tested the rear seats
J: Good space in the back there, yeah **tries not to laugh for the next five minutes**
Absolutely love you guys!
You guys nailed it !!! The best Spectre review by far and one of the best car reviews ever. Well done !!!
16:15 made me laugh way harder than it probably should have.
Same😂
The color on this particular car is absolutely spectacularly beautiful. Love it.
About the stars in the doors, I actually think they add to the ambiance of the car, especially with a darker interior color to complement it like dark blue. It kind of feels like you're floating in a night sky. It's really nice. Again, u just need the right color
I am not here for the car reviews, but I am here to listen you two reviewing cars! Good job guys as always!
I don't care for nearly any car reviewers out there. Cheesy, annoying, lack of information comes to mind. I'm picky, and I KNOW my cars. Eat, sleep and breathe them. This channel and you gentlemen, are quite baffling. I absolutely love every part. Keep going, fellas.
Your reviews are becoming more and more like Top Gear!
Thanks for telling me something crystal clear about the car after watching this video 😊
This would be a dream to daily. One of the few cars I want it to be electric. It perfectly suites Rolls Royce. I also agree that the V12 didn’t sound that great
I love how James could not let the umbrella touch the ground.
Best car review channel. By far.
Have been watching for years and always been impressed, but this is a step up, such a strongly crafted review.
Ahhh watching you guys drive around Toronto is so refreshing, hope you guys do more of these
My fav car review guys period
Everyone always comments that you guys are the modern top gear but honestly this episode legit felt like an old top gear episode. From the silly golden donuts to the chair and music bits this was a great video 👌
