    They usually printed the instructions on the inside of the box in the past. The QR code saves them time and money on printing and lets you keep the box more intact for people who likes boxart

    The Shining Gundam is only 16 meters tall. This specific G-Frame is super close to true 1/44 scale. Most HGCE kits and EG Strike are a little taller than they should be canonically.

      All of the Gundam series established in the 90's (AKA Japan's lost decade) before Turn A have kits in the HGUC line that are closer to 1/132 scale. My theory is that this is what their heights would have been if they didn't need to cut costs in the 90's.

    In SoCal Japanese supermarkets these go for around $12 each ($24 frame+armor) and some of them are released as a combined F+A set in one box for $16-20 to save a few bucks. So in many cases they are more expensive than HG 1/144 kits, just easier to assemble. Mobility Joint Gundam 3 series just came out here ($11), picked up the ReZel, Unicorn and Sinanju.

      Yeah import costs and all. They end up being so pricey for what should be a cheap entry grade type set

    I collect G-frames, Converge, HG, 30minutes Mission, MG, RG.... You name it, I probably have some sort of representation of that kit in my collection. I always enjoy these G-frame kits as a fun distraction when I can find them.

    if I remembered correctly the set that allows the G-Frame Zeta to transform into its Wave Rider mode is a P-Bandai set and comes in a larger box.

    I think the G-Frames are interesting but I find more ROI on just buying a model kit. Though I really liked the Universal Unit line as the only difference for the A and B versions was one weapon. The G-Frame "frame" is pretty useless by itself but it has the items you wish came with the "armor".

    PSA: The fifth figure set in the full case is NOT guaranteed to be a GM Custom. I ordered a set from Japan and it was 100% sealed, but when I cracked it open it had two Shining Gundams and only ONE GM Custom!!!
    This was problematic because I ordered the case with a "co-pay" deal with some friends, and two of us wanted a GM Custom...

    In the US, all the stores have the Armor and Frame boxes together as one item to buy. Also, you could argue that since the Bandai Spirits division doesn't make the G-Frame candy toys then they aren't technically model kits.

      @@wizardmanaia4664 Bandai Spirits is the division of Bandai Namco that specifically makes model kits so I am saying anything not made by Bandai Spirits could not be qualified as a model kit. All candy toys like the G-Frame are not made by Bandai Spirits.

    Would you agree that G-Frame kits may be a better option that an HG kit for beginners?

    • @badwrongfun5541
      @badwrongfun5541 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say no. Because you only really build the frame and the build isn't really like other kits. I think the Entry Grade kits are probably what you might want as like a cheap simple introduction you can build without tools to see if you'd be interested in the hobby. Cheaper than the G Frames and a nice option if you like the Nu, Strike, or original RX-78 Gundam. But HGs are all fairly simple and the only tools you absolutely need for them are some hobby nippers and a hobby knife to clean up nub marks. No reason to feel intimidated. I would really say to just find an HG or EG you think looks cool or is piloted by a character you like and just jump in.

    • @reijigamer
      @reijigamer ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on where you live, places like Barnes & Noble, Target, and dedicated hobby stores sell them. TBH, I would suggest just getting some Entry Grade kits and technically all Bandai model kits are just as easy to build no matter the grade

      @@reijigamer thankyou

    • @badwrongfun5541
      @badwrongfun5541 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can't find the G Frames, have you considered the Entry Grades? There's only three in the line so far (Strike, Nu, RX--78-2) but as the name implies they're supposed to be a good entry point. They're same size as high grades but a little cheaper and the way the runners work you don't need tools to get them out cleanly. But also I don't think there is any shame in having, say, having a straight build High Grade kit that might not have the best nub remove on display. Like it's still a cool robot. You still built it. You can show it off.
