The thing I really love about Gunpla is that you can put TONS of effort into the cheapest kits and make something amazing. Or you can just snap fit that PG and call it a day. So much room to 'do stuff' with it!

Great to hear that! In the video, I used the template as a guide for drafting the panel line. However, it can be used by holding onto a kit by hand or stick with instant adhesive and scribe directly. That way, you can scribe the panel line with more accuracy. Holding by hand will be unstable than using instant adhesive but faster. It requires practice, though.
I recently assembled this guy as my very first Gundam build! I have to say yours looks a lot cooler, I did some rudimentary weathering with an ink pen I had lying around haha. But it was a lot of fun though.
