It’s not a GM Development History, but Merry Early Christmas and Happy Holidays!
(And don’t worry, this video doesn’t replace a future GM Development History.)
My headcanon is that the GM that we see behind the GM Spartan in Fukuchi Mobile Suit Station is actually the GM Scout, a GM Command modified for ground combat in the jungle.
@@xXswagy0l0blazeit420 Huh, I never noticed the second MS in that picture until now. I think you're right about that being the GM Scout.
If you take suggestions, how make making a couple of lists for top mobile armors, one for the uc, another for the other unverses, again just a suggestion
Wouldn't the unit 0 of the Blue Destiny count as it is RGM-79?
Also the Ground Type Stealth as well as the Gefagener GM depending of what you consider a gm
Becoming an Ace with a GM sounds way more impressive than becoming an Ace with a Gundam
Do GM Ace get upgraded Gundams because of their performance ?
Or an ACE with an Guncannon.
Ace with a Ball
Not really. The GM actually wasn't that much of a downgrade from the Gundam. It still outclassed the Zaku in every way.
@@anzaca1 A GM in the hands of a good pilot can overcome all Zeon MS but the Gelgoog and the Zeong
Shiro Amada: "What mobile suit is that?"
Mechanic: "Its called the GM Juggler, sir. It uses two modified remote control Ball units for supplemental firepower."
Shiro Amada: "So... I can pilot a mobile suit AND two Ball units simultaneously?"
Mechanic: "Well, technically yes sir, you could,"
Shiro Amada: *Eyes roll back, mouth foaming. Happy Ball/MS Pilot noises*
Finally. the GM ChuChu custom
Amuro: we need funnels
Federation: we have funnels at home
Funnels at home:
The charm of the GM lies in the fact that, despite its simple appearance, it is quite a powerful mobile suit in terms of its settings.
It's interesting how it can look incredibly strong depending on how it's portrayed in the anime.
I personally love plot developments where mass-produced mobile suits play a significant role.
17:24 Mu making the impossible possible by being the best pilot of a machine from a different universe.
one question.... how?
@@jackbannon257 He's just that good
It when UC and other AU till Seed collide into ones....
Where Kira saved Amuro from Hamon kamikaze attack and saved Ryu Jose in process
And Doan pulled HYPER MODE
th-cam.com/video/6Kr6VlmWKfo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iwKiGwty-NePOWAU
@@jackbannon257 its the remote units. His space plane(later akatsuki with its space pack on) had 4 pods he could remotely control so he is the best natural bit users everyone else that seems to be any good with them is a full on new type or cordinator ie special people while he as far as ive seen is considered just a normal human.
I feel like most of the time he’d be on the back lines controlling the ball units from afar and only actually using the GM when someone gets close. Then he goes back to using the ball units like a fighter jet and fucking destroying units so efficiently that it gives the opponents PTSD towards the ball unit.
Always hated how gms would get destroyed just to show off how powerful that enemy ace is :(
Same with the Zaku.
@@erniestrother3545fr fr. We need more grunt on grunt action
That was various of aces doing that and Zeon had more experience pilots well until near the of war, how many zaku, doms, goufs, gelgoog, the gyan, big zam, and mobile armors just the gundans destroyed, there only hand full them.
Its the worf effect acting in full force
Boy would you hate to watch the show as a Zeon fan.
Kakarot-"And that was all of the gms in the oyw."
Gm spartan-"am i a joke to you?
Gm gatheroad: *bruh.sfx*
I would have been dead in a Ball near the beginning of the war, then my weak ass newtype conscious would have ended up in some failed Char clone named Power Bottom, or some such nonsense
Lmao 🤣
Gotta respect someone who knows their luck.
Of course Mu La Flaga would use the GM Juggler, not only does death not effect him, but neither does the multiverse. Funny enough, I could see him as one of the few pilots who could actually use it well.
Technically, any fella with enhanced spatial awareness can drive the GM Juggler... heck, you can put say, Morgan Chevalier (from the Astray mangas) or Amuro Ray (the CCA version, that is) and it will be a potent mobile suit.
And luckily for him in that G Generation Advance
Rau didn't had Providence yet (since Providence and Justice not debuted yet when the game was finished developed)
I get the feeling this started out as "GM Development History" and it snowballed into this.
You mean the same GM Guard Custom that appears at 6:55?
UC needs more animated content of GMs doing more than explode whenever a Zaku looks at them funny.
At the very least, Tenneth Jung deserves an animated spin-off where he styles on enemy aces who are all "It's just a GM! Why isn't it dying?!"
Any teenager can pilot a Gundam to full effectiveness but it takes a real pilot to be a badass inside a GM.
No real men fight with Balls
-Shiro Yamada....probably
You don't tug on Kycilia's cape.
You don't spit into the wind.
You don't pull the mask from the ol' Red Comet
And you don't mess around with GM.
if i may, you missed the GM Spartan, it was used by the Black Dog Team in code fairy, with their leader Renato Germi using a customized version.
GMs need more love.
Good to see The White Dingo team getting recognition. They retook Australia with nothing but GMs and pure skill. No newtypes, no gundams etc.
That always makes me happy especially knowing a SRW finally introduced them and have their own combo attack.
Edit; after finding the footage again, it's NOT SRW BUT, Gundam SD GGG(?). It REALLY does LOOK like an SRW game though.
what srw are they in?
@@sovietdominion made a mistake, it's ACTUALLY a Gundam SD game. It just happens to be JUST like SRW. I made the appropriate edit.
no problem@@phantom_xrd
It shows how comprehensive GBO2 is that it stands beside the original MS art so well for so many suits.
The only way a military force could deploy so many variations of a weapon during a one year long war is if they are written by a toy manufacturer!
The Earth federations in my opinion have some of the coolest mobile suit. Love your Gundam content.
The GM, Jegan and Jesta are all cool looking.
true just wish they had better water suits, i girhen greed i had to hope that i get a stolen design from zeon, any one of those becomes the main underwater suit for the rest of the game into the axis endgame.
"The aqua gm may look deadly"...Kak .. my man.. play GBO2 I've been messed up by Aqua GMs sooo much
I don’t think it helped that the only time we saw it on screen was 17 years after it was rolled out. Combine that with a surprise attack during peacetime, those poor guys didn’t stand a chance.
Yea, you are definitely not wrong, expesaly by that Mobile armor 😂.. and a kapool.. they did not stand a snowballs chance .. if I was one of those pilots I would have said fuck that... the fedration needed more Jeagens at the very least
Are they still the king of low-cost general types? Haven't played in a while and I thought they've been nerfed or something?
@dbKneecapped they did get nerfed but if they get a hit in close, you will die
Wow, for a war that lasted only one year and for a mobile suit that was introduced only late in that war, the GM certainly had a lot of variants! Maybe they should have made it the Three Year or Five Year War!
Anaheim Electronics shareholders have entered the chat
It is somewhat believable at least since most of them are built based on each other
There is a reason the Feds only four MS platforms compared to the seemingly endless options of Zeon.
Originally the war against zeon predicted will last longer than one year. Before amuro piloting gundam, federation still doesn't have effective mean to train their many MS pilot. Thanks to char discovered gundam test site, forcing amuro piloting gundam and whole fiasco afterwards, federation manage to obtain amuro combat data to create system assistant for their MS pilot. After zeon failed attack against jaburo, federation taking advantage zeon loss of MS forces, push forward counter offensive
Good old expansion creep.
I always love that the GMs are a example of intelligent mass production. Something Zeon consistently struggles with.
My OYW Pilot would have started with the Vanilla GM, before upgrading to the GM Kai by the end of the One Year War.
However, in Origin's OYW he'd probably stick with the GM shoulder cannon variant all the way through.
And in Thunderbolt's OYW he'd have upgraded to the Gundam Head at the end instead of the Kai.
Would've lost first battle
That's why I love 0083 one of the few series where the GM's fight back .I do love the GM kai and the GM cannon 2 but painted in the standard gun cannon colors is a thing of beauty.
GM Sniper II and Cold Districts are my absolute favorite GMs despite their less than stellar on screen performance
Yeah, the 0080 GM's are my faves too, it's sad seeing them getting trashed on screen in the OVA. However, they carried the major brunt of the fighting and many of them seem to be not fully prepared (missing shields, etc) they prevented the cyclops team from accomplishing their mission and the Alex played a minor role.
As a GM enthusiast, I consider this an early Christmas present. 🎄
As someone who loves Federation Mobile Suits, particularly GMs, I consider this a great early Christmas gift.
As for which GMs I’d pilot during the OYW, I’d probably go the same route as an OC of mine went; starting off in a RGM-79 [G] GM Ground Type for the battles on Earth, before moving on to a vanilla RGM-79 GM in space, then a brief stint piloting a RGM-79GS GM Command Space Type, and finally a RGM-79SC GM Sniper Custom.
Why through?
Command Space is quite powerful, maybe even better than Sniper Custom other than the options
A true work horse unit that in all honesty deserves as much love as the Zaku gets. There's also the engineering side of the GMs that shows just how optimized the production was that many could be made due to all the variants sharing so many parts.
I see that Mu La Flaga is once again making the impossible possible.
Shadow special forces' GMs gotta be my fav variant of gm. Whoever thought of adding nightvision goggles is a genius, it goes so fucking hard.
What happened to the GM Spartan? And lesser known GM scout form the same source?
Can't believe I forgot about the Spartan. I even got the modelkit recently lol.
bro is sure he would survive as a fighter pilot in UC OYW era
I'm willing to take my chances against the Dopps
Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.
Dankje voor alle content van hrt sfgelopen jaar.
Fijne kerstdagen een een gelukkig nieuw jsar toegewenst. 😀
Happy Christmas and thanks for the video, Kakarot197
7:58 Hold up. That top beam rifle he's holding is the rifle from the Hyaku Shiki. Are you saying the Sniper II had access to the same rifle the Hyaku Shiki would use 9 years later?
HS just had outdated guns I guess
The time has finally come at long last...
GM STRIKER BABYYYY
Edit: even better, a Sniper 2 with striker equipment
this is something ive been looking for. thanks for the upload and happy holidays!
Thank you for the video and very merry chirstmas to you
It's fun seeing you use pictures of the Robot Spirits figures for some of the GMs, because I've been collecting them and this was a nice "checklist" to see which ones I'm missing (not many actually!).
I'm glad you do these videos. You scour through all the cool Japan-only content I can't read and bring back all of the treasures. Thanks man.
The best Christmas present a GM fanboy like me could want
FINALLY IVE BEEN WANTING TO KNOW THIS FOR SO LONG im a massive gm fan and ive been wanting to know this FOR SO LONG
What an early Christmas gift you just gave us!
Great video as always mate, I have just returned from a 4 week trip to Japan first since Covid. I was able to pick up the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II - (White Dingo Team Custom) a kit i have been after for a very long time.
As someone who lives in a pretty northern state, I would like to say Cold District, but between there being more potent options and the cold weather no longer being something that can be assumed will happen according to season, that's not happening. For what I'd actually want to pilot? Sniper 2, Striker, or Armored. They are versatile and powerful. Or if I really want to make things regret their positioning, cannon.
What a wonderful Christmas gift!
Thank you for this fabulous christmas gift but you are 1 day early
What a perfect early Christmas gift.
Thanks for the video
I was always enjoy having a Kakorot video while building the always bulky, Zaku III.
You know it's a good day when kakorot197 posts
You're a god for this
Commander with his Gatheroad GM, thousands of kills and is able to keep up and assist against top Aces like Char, Haman, Rau le Creuset, Milliardo Peacecraft, Master Asia, Shinn Asuka and Ribbons Almark.
XD
Shout out to my favorite (all be it post one year war) RGM model, the GM II. Never had an ace, never needed one.
Coincidentally i just got into researching the GM so seeing this video got me more hyped to find all the model kits for these guys xD. Also if i was a pilot id honestly start with the basic GM then work my way up from the command to the kai which id probably be using in 0083
I do like the GM Gatherroad from SD Gundam Battle Alliance, but I fear it's too obscure and not enough is known about it to even bring it up. Still, its simplicity in its customizations (it only has two sprayguns and modified thrusters) and the funny implication that its pilot returned from Odessa now with the knowledge of future events and events from other universes (and, presumably, nobody believing him if he tells them about it) is rather entertaining.
Merry Christmas
My favorite GM will always be from 0083 Stardust Memory the GM custom. I love the Ground GM as well.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁❤
I always love a good GM custom! I feel like because Gundam's are such hyper specific units, you don't always get to see the personality of the pilot shine through (with some exceptions of course!) but GMs have such a range of options, the pilot gets to really make they're mark on it, especially Ace's.
BEST VIDEO EVER!
For me it have to be the GM Sniper ii or GM dominance
Damn. Now That's a lot of info on these guys. My fave are the Gm sniper II ,striker and high power unit
As much as i love the gm’s and I understand their development history was a few years before the oyw, I still think it’s insane they made so many variations in just one year
Gm ground type is one of my favorite grunt suits.
as a fan of the show since birth, thank you for making gundam lore easy
You forgot the GM Command Early Type. Basically a GM Command Ground model with a GM Cold Climate Type's backpack, but with a second beam saber. There's also an added detail of the GM Trainer. The Trainer's armor was weaker, yes. But it's frame was not. The GM Trainer's frame was reinforced because the unit was expected to take a beating when used by cadet pilots. So they were designed to last.
Now the gelgoogs 👀
In my school vr game there is a veriont called GM daemon type which are a mass production version of Goalius during his restored vengeance form and in the game thses thing are used by the Valkyrie devision of the Dawn of fold and they are monsters (monsters putting it lightly as each kill gives it a temporary boost by harvesting the dead pilot soul into energy)
GMs: *described to have better tech specs than the Zaku*
Sunrise: "Hahaha! GMs go boom boom by Zakus!"
Go ahead and create the Zaku 1 & 2 equivalent to this.
My favorite variants no doubt have to be the Zaku 2 F & F2 Type, Zaku 2 Commander, Zaku 2 J Type, Zaku 2 High Mobility Ground Type & High Mobility Surface Type (the later being in AU-UC), Zaku 2 High Mobility Type R-2, and Zaku 2 Kai. With the Desert Zaku showing up notably later in Double Zeta Gundam.
I could only ever see myself piloting the Zaku 2 C Type if I was involved very early on the war and was specifically focused on battleships. Otherwise, I'd prefer to avoid lead poisoning. Besides, the F type is more maneuverable anyways and the J type is more suitable for land combat. As for Zaku 1; unless it's the sniper variant, I'd rather not use one. Heck no to the Zaku 2 aquatic designs. I'd rather use any other Zeon aquatic mobile suit. Especially Z'Gok-E.
Never been a big fan of teh zaku the only version i truely like is teh one from seed destiny
Sleggar's custom GM looks like he took his colors from 7/11. And they made 7/11 colored gundam model kits too with the beam javelin being the sign. Merry Christmas.
Imagine Gundam Mudrock assaulting California Base with Armored GMs as its escort I'm sure they'll sweep the Fenrir
Armored GM was my favorite GM to use in Battle Operations 2 when I played it religiously.
Do you think you can ever do mobile suit development history for the graze and its relatives? I feel like IBO gets sleeped on at lot.
Love the new video though, keep up the great work! You're TH-cam channel got me into gundam in the first place! 😊
Very happy with all the gbo2 model display shots
If I ever got into custom gunpla builds I’ve wanted to build some sort of GM with heavy weapons dubbed the GM Quartermaster. The GM Cannon, Striker, and Land Combat types are the closest start towards what I’d ultimately want, but the shoulder missile pod on The Origin’s GM is also something I’d like.
Some Trivia on the Night Seeker, it saw use by Yazan Gable way after the OYW, heck after the Gryps War too. I think it was actually the Night Seeker equipment on a GM-III base. This was in the Johnny Ridden manga by Ark Performance.
armored gm was so scary in zeonic front.
and they allways came along with mudrock in 2nd part
The amount of mobile suits they seemingly spat out in 3 months stretches suspension of disbelief if you ever stop to think about it.
not really. You have a base deisgn ie form the gundam which all teh gms are based and you have people throwing unlimited funds at weapons to fight zeon. Look at weapons development during ww2 for example the ammount of odd tanks and planes throught out beside the standards like the p47 or the m4 is insane. Most never went anywhere but a whole lot of odd units got made rather fast.
truly a christmas gift
I'm mostly familiar with this stuff through the models, though I have watched most Gundam anime. I've always loved the GM Sniper II, and one of my dream model kit projects is to make a custom GM Sniper II that's essentially my fantasy ace suit.
It's insane how much materials were used in all the destroyed mobile suits in the One Year war alone
4:02 this is my ALL time favorite variant of the GM only mobile suit I used in Rise from Ash
the GM juggler is one of the funkiest looking GMs i have ever seen with my own two eyes.
and i want a mastergrade of it, even a high grade i dont care i want one on my shelf
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
This lasted for my entire poop, good job.
One more I can think of is the GM type B 30 we’re deployed in Odessa they had the dual beam saber backpack
The GM later type, because I love the idea of a GM Command space pack being installed.
My head cannon for the number of variants. Quick search shows the total number of active military fighter craft at around 53,000. With a space mining economy I can see the Federation fielding triple that number. 2/3s would probably be the Vanilla units as the backbone. The remaining third are variants.
GM Kia, it was the 1st MS in Battle front 2 that I got the hang of and will always be my go too in the mid point games. But GM sniper is a 2nd and tied for 3rd is the full arkored GM and GM striker, for space the GM cannon space or GM intercept
If I were a GM Pilot in the OYW, I'd probably go with a GM Striker because close combat is my jam. There was also a Custom variant for Space Combat, and that version could use what was essentially a double beam saber.
gm sniper 2 is indeed the best answer. though, the railguns are interesting to play around in that branch of the tech tree.
1:46 GM Early Types were being piloted by rookies against Zakus with experienced pilots. They were underdogs from the start.
You know you are a bad ass, when your team is called the Guineapig's
Can't wait fo the Zaku list!!
My OYW pilot(if she started earlier in the war) would've started as a fighter pilot, got a GM Light Armour and used to the end of the war, although she might have got a Sniper 2 for Star 1, but I'm not sure if she'd use it, or stick to what works
(Other way she just uses a GM Cannon)
The GM dominance underwater type looks so sick
