So one thing I've been saying is that they could have the 'RG 1.5' project, where they keep the outer armor for the old RGs but redesign the inner frames
And for those who have some of the old ones already they could just PB the frames separately

I think its just 3 times more difficult to handle rather than build. i dont mind the build with exception of the tedium of the pipes but what gets me is the lack of fixed posed hands its just such a pain putting the accessories in there.

The first time I build it, I didn't have a nippers, only small scissors since it was my first time building gundam and I don't know where to buy a nipper. The pipes was a torture to put together, after a day of building it, I decided to put it on a shelf and just let it stay there since I was to afraid to move it. But after buying a HG gm ground type, HG strike dagger and HG kampfer, I took that zaku, put it behind some books and let it stay there since it traumatised me a lot just by looking at it. Now I only buy HG since I don't want to torture myself with complicated kits, and because the amount of HG that is available and the price is something I love

@@uminorachel4631here's something I recommend, if you ever want to go up in grade (to MG specifically), start with either the og gundam, or the Heavyarms (I recommend the EW custom version, aka: the blue one, because the regular beam gatling is a pain to attach), the heavyarms is on the smaller side, and (as far as I know) is one of the simpler ones, barring the gatling on the regular version, but I found that pliers work well for keeping that in place.
Just some friendly advice from a fellow builder.

This kit has a weird place in my heart. I got the green version, but this RG was my very first Gunpla model kit. It took me a while week during my Christmas break, during which time I discovered Gundam Build Fighters on Gundaminfo and binged that during the building process. The little tube beads went everywhere, the hips were so tight they snapped on me, the articulated hands crumbled, the front skirts would only stay together once I applied super glue, and everything creaks. But, it got me into the hobby and I still have it displayed on my shelf. I have since switched to HGs and have had a wonderful time ever since.

I have a question Kakarot197! How many Operation V units were present on Side 7 by the time the White Base came to pick up the suits as well as when the Zaku 2 reconnaissance team attacked? In the anime, we saw a Guncannon and Guntank get destroyed, yet we were never told exactly how many specific units (Guntank, Guncannon and Gundam) were present. On the Gundam wiki, it says that the White Base was able to hold a maximum capacity of 6 mobile suits. I was wondering if you would know how many of the three operation V units would have initially been intended for delivery to Jaburo Base, had Side 7 not been attacked.

    • @magnatcleo2043

My first model kit ever. I broke one of the leg joints by the hip, and somehow fixed it with a piece of sprue.
Those side skirts were and are the bane of my existence.
But despite being fragile, I do think that the amazing detailing on this model is what ultimately sold me on Gunpla. If I built something else instead, who knows whether I’d turn it into a hobby.
As far as comparing it to the Revive, I don’t think the comparison is quite so simple. The Revive has a much more cartoon accurate head, at least in terms of shape, and it adds a tremendous amount of personality and presence. Meanwhile, the real grade has a clear plastic shield in front of its monoeye, and after twelve years mine is starting to look a bit foggy.
Lastly, I used to think the colors on the RG were perfect, but the Revive is better. The darker salmon just speaks to me more

The RG Tallgeese was the first to mostly ditch the MS Joint runner. It still uses it for the arms and for one of the sliding pieces in the legs, but the rest is assembled Master Grade style. After that, the RG Unicorn used the MS Joint runner even less. So, Real Grade #28 and up are what you want.
That being said, I can still recommend the Gundam Mk2 Real Grades. Even though it uses the MS Joint runners for all of its frame pieces, it seems to be one of the least susceptible kits to Early Real Grade Syndrome. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the kit who have had it for years and never had issues with it. Even Mecha Gaikotsu, one of the biggest detractors of early Real Grades, still poses his RG Gundam Mk2 all the time, and he has a reputation for manhandling his kits.

I'm just doing my first steps in Gunpla and thought this was some Bandai model I've missed when searching for the "cool ones" to build (yeah, I don't have any nostalgia for the anime given that I've only recently learned more than being vaguely aware that it exists). I do appreciate your reviews a lot since you always seem to comment on seam lines, mould lines and sticker usage which has been very helpful in selecting the kits for me.

I think it's more like 3 times more difficult to maintain my sanity with this thing. I bought one as soon as it was available in my country, and after a few months I put in in my scrap/junk/extra parts box. It was just so hard to handle and pose without something popping/falling off. Plus after a few months. The frame just went limp. I pose this once in awhile. Even then it was just really frustrating.
    Edit:
I don't hate this thing. The thing I hate about it is how much I had to glue parts to the point of it almost becoming a statue.

@@yanjirujan193 while some original series art depicts the backpack as being brighter red than everything else, there’s also plenty that depicts the backpack as maroon, pink, dark grey, or even brown. Hell, there’s some artwork that shows Char’s Zaku as actually being red instead of the maroon and salmon pink that it was in the actual show. My point is they could have gotten away with not making it the only piece in that color. Whether that’s by not having that color at all or by adding a little more of it to other areas. They’re already taking liberties with the design (don’t remember all those panel lines in original artwork) and the color, so why not?
