  • A very simple way of explaining my van electronics and if it helps one person out there then it will make me a happy man.
    Not long now before we can all go out and enjoy our vans with a little more freedom!

    Crackin vlog mate if your set up workes and you don't run out of power it's perfect I've got 2 AGM battery's 110 amp solar panel and a split charger never run out of power yet you can spend a fortune on a electric system and it will only do the same job looking forward to the next one 👍👍😎

    Thanks, great vid, well explained. An unusual system but if it works and you like it, why not. Thanks for the vids.

    Sound. I used Raynes too. I ll be chatting to them about a trickle charger for my leisure battery. Cant rate high enough. Wiring is same mostly but my fridge isnt through the control panel.

    Just tried to download the electronic diagram from your website and it won't let me even attempt to download it. It actually acts like it doesn't exist. Looks really helpful though. I can make and build most things but the whole electronics thing completely baffles me. Nice video.

      Hiya buddy, just checked and it's there (if you're downloading it on your phone, check your "files" folder and downloads, it should be there) if not send us an email at yorkshirepoptopadventures@outlook.com and I'll email it through ;)

    Great video, quick question.....
    The live from the solar panel goes to the CTEK split charger, I can see on mine it has a positive fixing for the live wire to connect. So where does the negative from the solar panel go? Sorry if that's a daft question!

  • @davesearby9843

    Great video I left my fridge on the other day and leisure batter voltage went down to 11.7. Apparently anything less than that (repeatedly) is bad for the battery (mines an AGM) Looking online you can get voltage protectors that shut off the supply from the battery at a preset (low) voltage to avoid damaging it any thoughts?

  • @SmokinHaddock1
    @SmokinHaddock1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice and simple explanation. Thanks. One question. Is there any reason why you have split the solar wire to create a Beaudens charging input rather than just use the 12v or USB socket powered from the leisure battery? Is it more efficient to charge direct from the solar panel rather than via the leisure battery? Keep the videos coming!

      Cheers David, no particular reason mate, it would work either way but I do like all the cables hidden away... :)

    Mate, nice vid! You don’t use a converter for a laptop or something on 230 volt?

    • @Yorkshirepoptopadventures
      @Yorkshirepoptopadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No mate, I just use the Beaudens generator (charges via solar) and it works for me at the moment, maybe in the future I'll get a dual battery set up and a converter! The vans never finished 🤣🤣

  • @carlnewton7591
    @carlnewton7591 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. How much power does the battery charger use when powered by the Beaudens? Or how long can you use the battery charger on the Beaudens until the Beaudens needs charging(when there is no solar/van is stationary)? I want to charge my leisure batteries when not camping/at night and stationary and then charge the Beaudens at home when it needs it.

    Hi Colin, is your camper a 140BHP or standard 102. I only ask as I had my 102 T6 remapped to 156 with Pendle. Made hell of a difference, and good mpg. Just in case you’re thinking about it.

    • @Yorkshirepoptopadventures
      @Yorkshirepoptopadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's definitely on the to do list, it's actually a 115bhp (according to the V5)

    Alrite buddy a little question y do you have 24v in the camper van. I am, just wondering looking a putting a kitchen in mine and just wonder if I need it for anything with that. Thanks

    • @Yorkshirepoptopadventures
      @Yorkshirepoptopadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ey up bud, no i only have 12v - I have thought about a 2nd battery but not having them linked, maybe switched so that one is a back up battery etc!

    • @Yorkshirepoptopadventures
      @Yorkshirepoptopadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No bud, you'd need a LOT of batteries to run an electric cooker. Those with electric cookers usually do so when on EHU (not always, but mostly) - stick to gas oven/hob matey, or an induction hob that works on hook up! (Unless you have 8 x lithium batteries in the back 🤣🤣)
