This is the final straw for me with both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. I can't take it anymore. Watch the video and let me know what you think down in the comments below.

I miss ol' SquareSoft...
I think he feels proud that the franchise, his baby, is still going strong to this day. It still remains Square's flagship. It's mostly just for some of us consumers, who are fed up with being just seen as a wallet, which yes, we are, but we still want a little bit of respect for the things we love, especially stories that sometimes help us escape and for a moment forget about our worries.

As soon as the marketing cycle for the remake is over they will drop this like a hot potato, i cant believe people are dumb enough to literally 'buy' into this money grabbing blasphemy, we all hoped for a like for like remake and got the worst outcome possible
As soon as I saw the main menu in ever fucksis, I dipped. Then I just heavily modded the original with the Echo-S dub, 4K everything, etc

i just started playing with the Echo-s mod and while i certainly wont say the voice acting is mind blowing, some of it isnt half bad (so far) and it really does make it feel more like the remake i actually wanted.
The moment Remake ended the way it did showed there was no love for the original. Ever Crisis will end up like First SOLDIER once they make their money, shut it down, then after Rebirh give you another mobile game with more monitization and nothing really connecting it the main line.

So painful, after decades of waiting patiently for a FF7 Remake, we got two, and neither is truely faithful to the original, it boogles the mind how they couldn't get it right.

I hope we get a fan mod/recreation of Ever Crisis that removes all compulsory-online and gacha aspects.
Unfortunately the "definitive way to play ff7" is locked behind a much steeper pay wall than any presented in Ever Crisis if you don't own a PC.
Honestly 'mobile game' told me everything I needed to know about what to expect from Rver Crisis. They said it would span the entire compilation which is a tremendous amount of content so I couldn't imagine it not being a simplified abridged version.
My expectations for Ever Crisis were low and what actually came out was far better than I ever thought it would be. Not to downplay any of the flaws you pointed out. I'm just saying it exceeded expectations on my end lol

No one is going to convince me that PS1 games can not be remade for mobile platforms due to technical limitations.

Honestly, the reason it is a too download right now is it is ff7 and it's new. Give it a couple of months and then check back to see where it is. It'll probably fall off quick

@@thatguybis1997 theres also a mod that fully voices all of the dialogue with a better translation of the original script, its called Echo-s 7.
Aerith should never be saveable. Yeah, I wanted to, and that's the point. It was my first experience dealing with losing something permanently, grief, as a 7 year old me.
It's almost certain she'll be in the reamake, if she will be even able to die at atll all.

I was so disappointed in Remake and when I found out about Ever Crisis, my last hope for a faithful "remake" of FF7 was crushed again.
and besides the added story of the begining of sephiroth you also get some back story for cloud, tifa and aerith which again can be played free, and this will only expand on the future. I really dont see the money wise issue here

The game is not a remake it is a game in the FF7 cannon where you can expirience the Story. If you want Final Fantasy VII just play it. You can get it in the Store or play the remake. The game is based on "Before Crisis" not on the PS1 game.
They sure advertised it as being another remake.
The remake is different from the original.
But yes, I will stick to just playing Final Fantasy VII, that we can agree on.

I have no idea what those games are, I don’t play mobile games.
But then again, I don’t think those games were anywhere near on the scale of what ever crisis is trying to do, nor did they generate the interest this game has.
It focuses on ff7 universe instead of a multivariate and the graphics are more akin to newer titles
And it's more coop focused than pvp
@@thatguybis1997 Brave Exvisu has 33million unique users contributing to it's wiki alone. Anyway it's possible to stay F2P in Ever Crisis it will just take a while to progress the account / power level of the characters
Tbf though, ever crisis isn't the first game to lock equipment behind gacha. FF Opera Omnia, Tales of the Rays, Tales of Luminaria, and probably many more that I am not aware of. I don't think locking the equipment behind the gacha is inherently a bad, but it can be if a) there's no pity system and b) players feel forced to spend in order to keep up their power levels. Opera Omnia has neither of those problems, and only time will tell if Ever Crisis will follow in its footsteps.

@@thatguybis1997 but its a gatcha game so you have to see it from this point and as gatcha game enjoyer i can say it does this job better then the most games. this pared with a ff7 backround makes me hang on this game since release with no in game pay till now
They can always rig the probability rate of better equipment in order to ensure as much money is thrown at it as possible..
I tolerated it for 3 hours. After that, I uninstalled it immediately. These guys can't make a proper gatcha to save their fucking lives. The only one that I liked (Mobius) they closed it years ago

The fact that the game isn't a 1:1, it even has remake changes in it such as the corneos coliseum, and a lot of cut stuff is just... So sad for new players. The gacha elements just makes it a blatant cash grab game, but modern gamers defend and even like this somehow. Play the heck out of the game, people should tax their servers, but never pay a dime. 5 M downloaded...

The game is a terrible cash grab yes and there are WAY better ways to play FF7, the only reason I'm playing it is for more Sephiroth lore and to kill time on the toilet. However, you played yourself bro. Those blue crystals you, "had no use for" are the primary gacha currency in the game. So you were spending currency for Stamina when you could have been pulling weapons with it. And just looking at your UI throughout the video you had at least 30+ pulls you could have used.
When did they say it was gonna be made just like the origina I'm 40 seconds in and I already stopped the video.
Please answer this so I can either continue or just stop altogether.
Just look at the trailers. Definitely didn’t look like the story was gonna be instance based missions from what I saw.

The first forty seconds of your video is highly disingenuous. It's pretty sad you started this video without understanding what Square Enix was going for.
To a business.. franchises exist to be milked. Some do it in a positive way.. normal quality sequels like Armored Core 6. Most don't though.
Tip: If you grew up on gaming before the internet's existence.. your not the target audience for literally any mobile game. Frankly it's a miracle many of these companies bother with console/PC releases to begin with given how happy mobile customers are to throw their money at these mindless distractions.
I'm just curious WHO their target audience is at this point. You'd think it would be the fans who were dying for a remake right? Cause who else would care about a mobile game that's supposedly modeled off the original Final Fantasy VII?
@@thatguybis1997 It doesn't need to be a fresh IP to target an audience who hasn't played the game.
I personally have never played ff7, but i know well enough it's popularity. Up until my friend streamed it for me, their was a curiosity factor. Using a big name franchise and title is a plus even if the end-user isn't intended to be fans. Fans also might make that jump to mobile, and if they have a large wallet they might dump into the game. That, however, isn't a gamble.. it's a bonus and nothing more if it happens.
by using ff7, along with CC and that other game, they can build a very large game where the user will be slowly drenched in sunk-cost fallacy.. buying weapons for progression only to hit another barrier. They do this, without having to invest a ton into creating a new idea. The world is their.. midgard is designed already, and they already know what to do with Aerith.. they just have to code it. Reusing assets from ff7 remake.. well.. cost saving as well. They can make a AAA budget game on an A budget, if you will. Concept investment goes into the battle system.. make it more for the mindless mobile gamer.. don't want to make the user think too much. Also don't want to give the user too much control.. gamers are known for finding ways to break a system that gives a lot of control.

Do check what literally every other streamer is saying. That the game is friendly to f2p players. Also there will be a PC version without the first soldier storyline. And last this is just a promo for FFVII rebirth, not a remake.
ive literaly played the whole story of ever crisis (including sephiroth that just released) without paying a single dime, the only point i would give you that your right is the auto play feature and maybe customizations (its kinda a trade off for cosmetic customization, which btw you can obtain for free also). Grindy? maybe, but still you can play the whole thing for free...
I also done everything without spend money. Its grindy for the first 2 weeks tho.
I dropped it because the only thing that matters is combat score not gameplay
