- Controversial design aside, this thing really moves. With a horsepower rating of 382 and 369 lb-ft of torque, this BMW M240i in Thundernight Metallic goes 0-60 in "4.1 seconds" (probably faster).

Received my M240i a couple weeks ago in BG and I absolutely love it. Fast and fantastic in the snow.
Also I wanted to add that I love how this video is shot. It reminds me of when I am talking to someone about their cool car and I walk around looking at the car while talking to them about it. Brilliant.

I recently got a 2022 230i because I didn't want to wait for an M240i, but even the 230i is SO much fun and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. However, all I can think of is how much more I'd like the M240i or the M2. I have a feeling I'll be a 2 series guy until further notice.

Yes, insulated (laminated) glass makes a big difference…like 20db or more.

Cross shopping an m240i and a lexus is 350 (the bmw in BASE form is 25% more expensive than a fully loaded is 350 where I’m from). I see that your channel doesn’t seem to have any lexus reviews, please consider reviewing an IS 350, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I have a 2021 M340. Because of my current vehicle situation, I don’t really need the 4 doors and the size of the M340. Because of the used car market, I may trade it for one of these. Is there any significant difference in handling?

Would you recommend the 230i xdrive? I am someone who keeps a car for a long time so I would want something reliable and a good daily driver that's good on gas. With the price of gas here in vancouver, I need to be sensible. I have thought about the 25 camry hybrid but the 230i looks so good

I went to pick up my wife’s 2020 M240i (previous model)from servicing at BMW on the Gold Coast today. I have watched many videos on this new model M240i, and I was left feeling very underwhelmed. Whilst at BMW, my wife and I chose to view the car in the showroom, as videos can often distort the actual “feel of a car”
Our immediate reaction was …..wow this looks awesome. You instantly notice the bigger dimensions of this 240, longer, wider, and a substantially larger interior. The infotainment system is superior to our car, but I would definitely wait for the 2023 model 240, as it will be installed with the new iDrive8 system, which is top notch. The use of the B58 engine and ZF automatic is a no brainer. Why change perfection. The boot (or trunk in the US) is very spacious for a coupe. The side elevation and rear wheel arches are gorgeous. Now for the polarising front and rear views. The rear end wasn’t as bad as I thought from the videos, but the light design looks strange and the materials feel “very cheap”
The front is a big failure in design for me. The headlights and DRL’s are a complete departure from the synonymous BMW branding. Gone are the beautiful twin headlights and matching DRL’s, and replaced with totally foreign looking lights. The huge triangular side vents don’t appear to have any design flair.
The plastics used on the exterior of this car (rear diffuser, side skirts, and front bumper) are horrible and unbecoming of the BMW brand.
I was completely broadsided by what I saw under the bonnet. The wiring detail in this area of the car, looked like it was installed by a back yard mechanic. There was wiring bound together with black insulation tape and the layout looks like it was assembled by an amateur.
Lastly, why would you purchase a prestige German BMW that is assembled in Mexico??? Not me, that’s for sure! Thanks goodness our 2020 M240i was one of the last German built BMW’s.
OK this is an excellent looking car and 4 sec ,,, I would just like to see a comparison ,for the regular people, for just the regular two series!

I wanted a supra but since this is the same engine AND all wheel drive, I'm probably going to get this. With the outgoing TTRS, it's pretty much the only two door coupe all wheel game in town. Bonus that it comes in purple. It'll match my plum crazy hellcat.
… and probably beat the Hellcat (stock tires) to 60 while doubling the mpg.

Ik the exterior design has been a little controversial, but I love it I think it looks really good and I’ve always been a Mercedes guy but this looks better than that cla sitting right there. I love the purple personally the color I would pick if I was buying one of these

I'm honestly between the M240i and the upcoming M2. What's swaying me towards the M2 is the Manual Transmission, but I may still opt for the M240i but using the paddles.
Have to wait and see what the new M2 looks like too!
If you haven’t already ordered the M2 you are going to waiting two years for one.
@@MitchM240 I changed my order for the M2 in late January. Delivery is August 2023. Ironically I ended up choosing Automatic Transmission for the M2 because the S58 engine felt like too much engine to fully enjoy in Manual (after test-driving an M3 Competition).

Quick question, 430i with m sport package, or well equipped M240i ? They are around the same ballpark in price..
Well.. im definitely new to bmw..but from what i gather.. i think the m430i has little bit more room in the back seat by few inches so ppl in the back wouldnt feel "to trapped" than the m240i ..price wise tho..if your not in to performance than the 430i would be good for you cus you would pretty much have everything plus ventilating seats that the m240i dosent even have..255hp vs 386hp i mean it would be the performance for me......only way i know all this is cus i just order the m240i last week..with pretty much every option..grap🫐exterior with the peanut butter 🥜🥜interior😅🤣😂..
The peanut seats are full sports seats no lumbar support!!! Hope you don’t have any back issues. for me I wanted the peanut interior but a bad back means I’m forced to order in black or red. Still trying to work out the best colour combo. Any suggestions. The new light grey might work just not sure with a totally new colour.
@@marktierney2986 to tell you the truth..i would only get the m430i in 1 color and thats the black color..and i would get the shadow package only cus the huge Kidney grill really looks better in black with the car also in black so it doesn't stand out as much..and there is just 2 exterior colors you can get the with the lumbar and ventilated seats..thats the black one and this mocha color.
I would go with black exterior with the shadow black along with the black interior and black tires/all seasons double spot ones with the red break calipers
@@samuelreid603 I ended up ordering the M240i (Brooklyn grey), after reading/watching multiple reviews the performance on the M240i tilted the scale (plus the much better looking front end).

It's much better than the Subra. And it's cheaper. They need to offer the RWD version at a cheaper price and lighter.
Is exhaust sound pushed in via speakers?
Oh 100%, but it does sound good from the outside as well.
@@ACCELER8TV last question, the 4.1. 0-60, is it on paper only? BMW has a tendency of scaling back this number and it’s the same engine as the Supra which states 3.9. 0-60 on that model..? Hmmm

Add upgraded turbo, aftermarket suspension, & big brakes and you have a 700 WHP AWD BEAST.
Manual shifters/transmissions are not necessary for vehicles with more than about 250hp that will be daily drivers. 🤔🙂

Actually been timed at 3.79 seconds real world and you know that b58 and 8 speed can take more. It’s a low 11 second car with Ecu tune on 93+ octane, intake and exhaust.
Pretty sure I was the last high school kid to learn how to drive a manual. An that was all the way bay in 2010 😅

In my country, (Nigeria) anyone learning how to drive usually starts with a manual. It just makes no sense to learn with an automatic here, since manuals aren't exactly... Scarce

So with the 4 series and m3, I loved how the new grills made them look hyper aggressive (I live in Florida so we don’t need a front license plate) and I thought it suits them. The 2 series tho…… I’m really not feeling that front end at all even after seeing one in person

I too am a Mercedes guy but in the past I owned a BMW 335 Coupe and this M240i feels like it’s replacement size and power wise.
Great review. Just want to point out that you keep referencing "Audi S Line", as if they are doing something different from BMW. Audi has S Line, BMW has "M Performance" packages that go on their 30i vehicles. Audi has the "S" vehicles to compete with these M Performance vehicles from BMW. I'm glad there is no "RS Line" vehicle...what would be the point?
You're kinda adding to the confusion with this post.
S Line is not the equivalent of M Performance. It is the equivalent of M Sport. S Line and M Sport are cosmetic packages.
M Performance is the term used to refer to performance oriented vehicles in the lineup. These are the "M Lites".
S Line = M Sport Package
S3 = M240i (M Performance)
RS3 = M2
@@jbermud2 yes my apologies. The point was he was saying "what's up Audi" as if they didn't have an equivalent. Audi is not trying to compete with an M Performance vehicle (or M Lite as you put it) with an S-Line vehicle...they compete with their S vehicles.
I've owned an S4, S5, M340i, RS5 and now another RS5 Sportback so I'm very aware of the naming schemes of both manufacturers.
