I’ve recently had a full lab work done that I requested from hormone levels to c reactive protein to blood count, cholesterols and insulin. And much more. It’s unfortunate that us, the patients, have to do our due diligence because a lot of doctors/physicians are lazy or incompetent.

@Khaliando. 99% are only going to do what they are told. They avoid sticking out and just want to earn a living. It is the current system that sets the "standard of care" which the doctors must follow. The exceptional 1% eventually start thinking for themselves, stop taking insurance and practice independently. 😐

I get my own blood tests these days. My doctors just refuse to order blood work. So I go to Ulta Labs which is shockingly cheap (done via the quest network) and get the basics every year. (CBC, CMP, A1c, HS-CRP, Fasting insulin, Cpeptide, iron, even immunoglobulins) It is obvious to me that if you want to be healthy you need to do this. Doctors don't want you healthy, they want you to pay them. So they don't order the most relevant tests. I am so greatful that we can do this now and the ladies who draw my blood at quest tell me a lot of people are doing it. I can also get Urine tests.

My husband and I have watched all of your videos. We have been practicing a keto lifestyle since March of this year. I have lost 20lbs, plus getting stronger. I work out twice a week at the gym. Usually 6 stations with weights upper and lower body with aerobic usually 30 seconds to one minute intervals at each station. My husband has lost 40 lbs and is now only taking one blood pressure medication. He has lots more energy and feels better. It’s a long story, but we want to thank you for reaching out and informing us on how to stay healthy. We also fast with only one meal a day. I am 66y/o and he is 68. We are retired. Thank you 😊

@@mstainasbabies7063🥲 Too bad god didn’t have the wisdom to just create us so that we did not get sick or age. It’s a shame that millions of people die from lack of freshwater every year, but god cannot do anything about it. Same goes for starvation or lack of medical care or housing. It’s sad god doesn’t have the power to simply correct everything and make life beautiful for everybody everywhere at all times. It seems your god is really a human concept.
Isn’t it wonderful that reality has presented us with knowledge shared by many people, studying, researching and sharing information to grow our knowledge so we can help ourselves… I am grateful for this wonderful doctor and the knowledge he wishes to share with us. No mystical, magical powers needed. Just use your brain and deal with reality instead of living in a fantasy world of foolishness and perpetual funding for freeloading pharisees calling themselves “men of the cloth“ or “men of god” because god cannot handle money except to collect it and not pay taxes. What does it mean? It means taxation without representation, because regardless of what any of us believe, or don’t believe we are all subsidizing, religion and all those who profit from it. When I was your age, I never went to the doctor. Unless I had some issue. Maybe for a sinus infection or something. It's a common thing with males. But as I got older, I started going in more regularly. People can look okay but they may have an issue. As I aged and my friends aged. I found out that a couple of my friends have diabetes. They never said anything about it right away but eventually it comes out when they feel comfortable telling others. For myself I take a blood pressure medication. High blood pressure is something that can happen to you, and you don't even realize it. So, I've made adjustments in my lifestyle to be more careful with my health. I'm 68 and I feel good.

My docs (general and OBGYN) refuse to do hormone, A1C and C-Peptide panel. Says not necessary as my blood sugar levels tested within healthy range last year and that they could just put me on HRT based on age and symptoms without testing. I think they are nuts and reminded them that they test vitamin D levels before prescribing vitamin D. OBGYN still couldn't see her illogical reasons for refusal because docs are trained to treat after the fact as apposed to testing with prevention in mind. She asked what would she do with the information, that she'd have to interpret for me. I told her I would need her to interpret it for me, but as a paying customer and the one in charge of my body, I wanted it done. She still refused. Time for a new doctor.

Their tests are designed as an excuse to write (sell) a prescription, completely ignoring optimum health. Anyone interested in overall health MUST find a good Functional Medicine type who's education is 50 years ahead of their regular MD. Over the years I have solved several potentially disastrous health issues on my own because my MD had no pill for it, and was completely ignorant of how the body heals itself given a chance. After reading a forklift palate of cutting edge books, I have never once caught Dr Ekberg saying something inaccurate. His topics should be taught in every school in America.

I had blood work done recently at a walk-in clinic. I spent the first 10 mins of the consultation trying to convince the doctor I was not ill, had no prior condition, and was in no pain so unaccustomed was she to someone attempting to be proactive with his health.

I had A1C checked and my doctor never called me. I was curious some time after and checked my results: 5.6, almost pre diabetic. I wish the doctor would have called me to discuss preventative measures. With your videos I realize it was my daily fruit smoothies and eating some wheat products that were causing insulin resistance. I made the correct changes and I’m becoming insulin sensitive now.

First of all it's none of their business and then I ask them when was the last time they been to a doctor and they can't even answer. I gets it all checked on vacation and on my days off, I make an appointment ears, nose, throat etc etc etc. Get things checked before their are future problems that you can catch now. Hwllo Dr. Sten Ekberg. I was diagnosed with diabetes in the month of Septermber 2022. My HbA1C was 14 and my Extra fasting sugar (after 14 hrs) was 277. I was shattered and when consulted a doctor, was advised to start medication. However, I was not willing to take medicine and somewhere believed that diet should be able to help control my Sugar levels even though I did not have any idea how. It was just an intuition and then I started searching the TH-cam for some guidance. And as fate would have it, to my good luck I started watching your videos and learning more about Insulin Resistance and more importantly what causes it and how can it be controlled. I have been following you ever since and I see your videos regualarly for 1 hour atleast everyday. I have made certain changes in my diet and also started moderate exercise(1 hr walking). After 2 and a half months my Fasting FLucose is around 100 and my PP is around 170. Though these are not ideal levels, with your guidance I have developed the confidence that I can reverse my insulin resistance with persistence and discipline. Your videos are the best quality in terms of content and also presentation. May God bless you and give you energy to change millions of lives all across the world. Thank you so much!!!!

Good to know. I'm in Tennessee. I didn't know how restrictive it was over there. Just a thought. Maybe you could afford to fly to this country and go to an independent lab. You can order blood tests on line from Life Extension . They can send you an order for blood tests . There are many on the list on line. You then take the order to a lab. No doctor needed. However, if You can afford, try to get an appointment here with a " functional practitioner to work with you. Some will do long distance consulting also. Dr Schmidt in Michigan did offer phone consultations and still may. You may have to be here in america to have this done.Depending on your situation with your overall health may determine what tests are needed and whether or not they will evaluate you overseas.
      I don't know their policy.
I would take the time to search online especially if you feel like you are not getting the right care. Good luck.

A few months down the road my primary doctor asked me if I had thyroid disease I said not that I know of she said the blood test look abnormal. But during that time it was so terrible I was so hot couldn't take it , I was speedy Gonzalez everything I ate took me to the bathroom I was losing weight and then when I had my check up my Dr said she's going to send me to an endocrinologist because my blood levels are off. They did all kind of tests and that's whenI found out that I had Graves disease and I'm very happy because I could have had a lot of problems down the road. So now I'm an advocate for myself I always ask my primary doctor what is my CBC etc. I'm now hypothyroid and I take a pill evey morning.

I love your videos even tho my attention span sometimes doesn't last as long as they do. I just took my 72 yo Mom for her yearly checkup and literally had to tell doctor what blood tests to do. This is after I told the doctor all the symptoms my Mom has: she has pretty much all symptoms of hypothyroid but in the last 5 months she lost so much hair that if it continues she'll be bold in a few month. Doctor didn't seem concern at all. Her blood test shows her ferritin at 26, lower than it was before bur Dr. said it's in range, and her red blood cells are enlarged. They only tested her TSH which came at 3.66 (it was closer to 5 year ago) so again, Dr. said its in range and no thyroid issues.
What really bothers me is that the Dr. didn't seem interested in addressing the symptoms at all; oh hey, you'll be bold in a few months and you're always freezing but its all ok because your test shows you're "in range".

@@maryfolks9368 Thank you Mary! My Mom's blood work came back and her ferritin is low and her B12 could be better too. I've been suspecting for awhile that she might be anemic but didn't really look much into it until now. One of the side effects of it is hair loss. Low B12 could cause anemia too. Please check those if you can.
Personally, I noticed that my hair doesn't fa out as much when I take zinc. I also started taking some thyroid supplements (by 1Body) and noticed more new hair growth. I put my mom on it too but it's too soon to tell if it's making any difference for her.
Often times it's not even the lack of supplements but rather our body ability to absorb it. We need strong stomach acid and healthy liver, and unfortunately both of these get weaker as we age. Taking Apple Cider Vinegar can help with stomach acid (2tbs in a glass of water, or Betain Hydrochloric Acid supplements is what I take), but if you take ACV with water, make sure to use straw to drink it as it can affect your teeth.
I wish you all the best and hope you find a cause and solution for your hair loss!

In range is so much different than optimal. She sounds classically hypothyroid. Find a better doctor.
