Just to let old sten and the rest of you know. This info turned my health around. I had to follow it which is equally important but to Dr Ekberg thank you.
I am a medical doctor, a diabetologist. You and your channel have completely changed my approach to the treatment and to the patients. The patients who follow my (your) advice don't need any medication. Unfortuntely, a lot of people don't wont to hear it. But I don't give up .Thank you very much. Dagmar
Please share with your fellow diabetologists! Most of them are still on the whole grains, fruit and vegetables, and keep increasing your medicine kick.
It’s great to see that older more educated individuals can acknowledge opposing arguments and maybe change their own stances on certain issues. Knowledgeability is hard won so we see many individuals who refuse to let go of their previous held beliefs even in light of the weight of evidence disproving them.
@@mlcarver1739 Exactly. I graduated 25 years ago and nowadays experts present on medical conferences , medical journals and publications still the same diet informations.
I am 53. I have fatty liver, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and protein C deficiency. I did fasting and followed a no carb diet with only 1000 calories per day and only drank water. I DIDN'T LOSE AN OUNCE !!

Dr Ekberg, just wanted to take a moment to thank you for saving my life. I was diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic in 2017. Did not have the understanding necessary to control my diet. Gained about fifty pounds and ballooned to about 282 lbs at my highest point in September 2020, along with taking several medications. Somehow ran into one of your videos on TH-cam. I found your explanations to be concise and easy to understand. Using your teachings, I've taken a long journey to restore my health, followed your teachings and went Keto, and now also intermittent fasting (8/16). As of today, I've been able to find much better health. No longer need insulin shots. Blood sugar is 90-110 regularly. Down to 231.2 lbs as of today. Thanks to you, I'm able to continue living and able to watch my kids grow and stay alive for my loved ones. I'm eternally grateful. Thank you again! I look forward to each of your videos and will continue to try to be a good health champion for the sake of my family!
@@ulychun I'm glad I ran into his videos at that time. I was pretty desperate. Taking shots and nearly 300 lbs is not sustainable long term. I fully believe that I would have already suffered some heart attack/stroke if I had not run into Ekberg's videos! Just for the record: I became diabetic despite going to the gym five days a week for one hour each day! There is truth to that saying: The battle for weight loss is won in the kitchen, not the gym. I'm glad this man is able to enlighten us like he does.
I found this man a little more than a year ago. At that time I was a borderline diabetic. I started watching these videos every morning and learning how the body works. I soon started a low carb / high healthy fat diet. I started walking more, preferably 3.5 miles every day. Now, I am proud to report that I am no longer even a pre diabetic! Thank you Dr for all of this valuable information! I pray that everyone that finds you, will discover the balance they’ve been seeking. 🙏🏽
The day I was told I had type 2 diabetes I radically changed my diet overnight. The diabetic nurse offered me drugs for it but I said I can reverse this and I did. Plenty of exercise and a massive reduction of sugar my body fought against what I was doing for a few months and then my body clicked into place. It had accepted the change and I felt fantastic. I could feel that my body was thanking me for putting it back on the right track. 2 years down the road and I wont ever go back to the way I used to be. It was as if I was going cold turkey on sugar and then came out the other side. I feel 30 years younger and I look great too. Those 2 factors will keep me from ever going back down the wrong road. It takes will power I know, but when you see yourself in the mirror looking and feeling the best version of yourself you could ever be, that is far and away better than any sugar fix. Every single day I can feel my body thanking me for doing the right thing.
Thank you mentioning something I think needs to be said more often. The body resists the initial changes so it takes time to get back to normal. That is something I was not getting as I was also diagnosed recently and went cold turkey but my glucose levels were not aligning. I have to keep reminding myself it takes at least three months to get things back to some kind of normal so I will keep plugging away with low carb and lots of exercise.
Thanks for this message, i feel as tho my body is fighting the sudden change too, you hit the nail on the head with your body clicking into place! I feel like mine is trying to click into place too, but needs a little bit more time ❤
After nearly 2 years of watching Dr.Ekberg's videos, I finally understand how the body works. His presentations are clear and concise. I wish they would teach this in early childhood. Thank you.
Thank you Sal Lazuka. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and the mechanism we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄
Thank You Irma Kalember. I'm so glad you found it valuable and I appreciate the feedback. I'm in a "figure out what the body needs and explain how it works" career. Nutrition is only one aspect of what the body needs. 😄
I was very surprised when my friend told me about being diagnosed with diabetes and his Dr from the VA advised to go on keto and fasting. After 7 months, totally reversed now.
@@unapologeticcook7168 Oatmeal is a grain. Grains are bad for you. Even Complex Carbs. The distinction is complex carbs cause your body burning energy through glycogenesis. You want Keto genesis. You need to starve your body of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are unnecessary for the body. Our body needs Protein and fats. Only trace amounts of carbohydrates. Also, in America, we do not really have starvation. You need to eat to satisfy your liver(which means sugaring insulin) and your kidney. The big idea is your body cannot tell the difference between table sugar and carbohydrates. Your body converts both to glucogenesis. Your body needs to run on protein and fat. By the way fat is satiating. Glucogenesis promotes diabetes and cancer pathways in the mitochondria of the human cell. No potatoes, no rice, no bread, milk and juice have too many carbohydrates. You can test your sugar and ketones in your urine. That is a good starting point. You do not want hyperglycemia or over secretion of insulin. You want maybe one glucose spike a day or zero. You do not want 6 sugar spikes a day with carbohydrates. That is where you get into trouble. 30 years of the great american diet can lead to blindness, amputation. or worse heart attack or stroke. 90 million americans have diabetes. Try bacon, eggs, cheese, nuts, coffee with heavy cream and butter, fish and all meat and salad. Do intermittent fasting
Lol. Yes am eating my whole grains and legumes. You were eating processed carbs. I don’t eat sugar, processed carbs. I eat fruits, brown rice, beans, lentils and i don’t have diabetes
I started my journey on December 2023, I’m type 2 Diabetic and my blood sugar was up to 170. I started following your videos and already see a huge improvement in my life
Ive lost 130lbs at 65 years old. Was over 400. Just wanted to say thank you for changing my life, and saving it. Ive hooked up so many to your videos when people ask how. You have reduced 1000s of lbs through me
For prediabetes and diabetes, many doctors still recommend: 1. reduce sugar 2. wholegrain bread 3. low GI rice 4. reduce saturated fat 5. plenty of fruit 6. plenty of veg Reality: delete sugar, delete grains, delete fruit (except low sugar berries), increase natural sources of saturated fat, add veg for flavour (if not lectin sensitive).
Problem is the reality is hard to stomach for most not terribly ill. How do you enjoy your butter without that crispy piece of bread ? Or the cheese without a good glass of wine (and some delicious sweet grapes) ?
@@radam2818 We have different vices. I've always found grains to be meh. After keto conditioning, grains are now gross. Ice cream is actually hard to quit.
I’m 50 and JUST found out I’m insulin and leptin resistant. My glucose is great. My A1c is great. I’ve been morbidly obese for over 20 years! I’ve tried EVERY diet to no avail. I’ve done all the things! Finally I went to a doctor-referred weight loss clinic and they did the RIGHT tests! I started gaining weight when I became a vegetarian over 20 years ago. I didn’t know anything about protein, and I filled up on carbs. Since then, I have been trying to lose weight. I had no idea!!! Intermittent fasting and keeping my carbs under 100 g or even keto, is what my new doctor has recommended! I love your videos! Now that I know this is not not my fault, I can stop hating myself and start fixing this! Your videos are on the top of my playlist!❤❤❤
I WAS!!! I did these things and my A1C went from 11.9 to 6.9 in three months!!!!!!!!!! Every word this man speaks is true. I've watched hours of his videos and I'm so glad I did. There are others, but this man is amazing.

@@Admin-qj7me I stopped metformin almost immediately after starting it. I only took it for a week or two. That stuff was nasty for me and there are some studies that suggest it counters the benefits of exercise.
Dr. Eckberg provides the highest quality videos! One, his topics are very well organized. Two, he gives good illustrations. Three, he is to the point, without giving us unnecessary, extra ‘fillers’, describing the points concisely and clearly and not going on a ‘tangent’. Four, he enunciates the words very clearly without slurring or talking fast like a machine gun, unlike many others do. Almost forgot, he is very factual and analytical. Superb job!
In one year of hard work I reversed my pre diabetes and lost 110 pounds. But best of all I now have knowledge to continue on with confidence. That’s invaluable. Thank you!!!!

Thankfully Sten Ekberg was one of the TH-cam channels that I found when I was researching diet for diabetics after being diagnosed in October 2021. After only 3 months of low carb my A1c went from 7.0 to 5.2. Since then I have lost 15kgs (was 80kg), waist now 38" (was 44" - and my waist is now smaller than my hips!!!), stopped my blood pressure drug, my cholesterol numbers are good and my ALT liver function went from 45 down to 22. I had told the doctor that I would not take a statin and metformin and would try diet first. She wanted me to do all 3 and I said you only change one thing at a time. When I saw her 3 months later I said that I hope she suggests diet to her future patients BEFORE suggesting drugs. I will be getting a scan done at the 1 year mark; I was diagnosed with fatty liver about 20 years ago but was not giving any suggestion about what to do about it.
Thank you Jo Brown for sharing your great results and helping inspire others. That is so awesome. I am thrilled that you have seen such great results. Keep it up! 😄
@@tiffgplu2590 His fatty liver will cause high liver enzyme levels. I also had fatty liver. When I went on a keto diet, the reduction in carbs caused my fatty liver to reverse which lowered both my SGOT from 137 to 35 and SGPT from 204 to 57. My SGPT is still above normal (44) but I think it will drop lower the longer I'm on the diet. I was only on the diet for 2 months when I had the labs run. BTW, i started the keto diet to get rid of my fatty liver. I've had it for 20 years too and was scared of needing a liver transplant and my regular doctors weren't giving me any read advice beside telling me to lose weight. I had to find videos like this to figure out that the root cause was carbs.
I have continued the healthy keto program and intermittent fasting 16/8, and I have completely given up medications for nearly six months now, and my blood sugar readings are very, very impressive.❤❤
You cracked the weight loss code for me. I'm down 7lbs following these guidelines. Mornings were where I was doing everything wrong. At 55 my insulin resistance is very high in the mornings. I switched to a small serving of high fat high protein snack for breakfast. A decent lunch, and another small high fat high protein dinner. Everything has changed for the better.
@@cristianabarlan7257 I eat a small handful of mixed nuts about every 2 hours and drink water throughout the day. I never get hungry, and the weight continues to drop.
@@wikhart9269 not if the snack is low carb. Nuts in small quantities are low carb and will not spike insulin. It does suppress hunger though which is why my weight continues to drop.
I discovered this amazing doctor 9 months ago and he changed my life. I’m 57 and for the first time, feel like I’m truly learning how the body actually works. Nine months ago I began a keto lifestyle and IF and today am off almost all medications. The problem I face - and probably a lot of us- is that our own doctors seem resistant to this correct way of reversing our type 2 diabetes and in fact never even mention insulin resistance. Thank goodness for Dr Ekberg!!
Doctors are taught using the pharmaceutical curriculum in medical schools. They are indoctrinated to treating symptoms with drugs, not curing diseases. Some learn the truth faster than others.
If you watch any other doctor, they leave you with so many questions and confusions. but not with this great doctor, he covers every possible corner of the subject he is talking about. Thank you Dr.Ekberg
I used to think the AMA, NIH, CDC and FDA looked out for the people. Boy, was I wrong. They only look out for big pharma. That's why people working in these organizations go back and forth, making big bucks. Also, big pharma provides the majority of the funding for these organizations. Thank goodness for this site.
Dr Ekberg, I'd like to thank you with All my heart! Without this information I was on the road to early imminent death... I've been very sick since 2018, and because of you and a Naturopathic doctor in my area I'm finally starting to understand the root of my medical issues and feel better! From the bottom of my liver, thank you!! 💕
Dr. Ekberg I am 58 years old. I went through menopause in my early 50s. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid about 3 years ago and had two glands removed. I discovered your videos about 4 months ago. I started at 208 lbs (June 2022) and today I am 172 lbs (September 2022) by OMAD at least 18 hours between meals, walking 2 miles at least for days a week, cutting out sugar, limiting carbs to 50 mg per day, cutting out grains and cereals, eating only whole foods (no processed foods). Bp is 124/83 (stopped blood pressure medicine), A1C is 5.3. Lots of energy, feel fantastic and I am eternally grateful for your careful explanation on what the issue was regarding sugar, glucose and insulin resistance.
Hello Dr Eckbert. I've been following your work for about 6 months, and you changed my life for better. I've tried few different diets and none of them worked , I think it's because I didn't have a clue how Insulin plays most important role, and you help me understand how important it is. 3 months ago I started Keto/ Intermittent fasting, went slow, from 16/8 to OMAD, since then. I've lost 37 pounds and I never felt better in my life. Thank you so much, you are changing so many peoples lives for better.

My mother has T2D. I tried to help her but she refuses to clean up her diet. She rather take meds. I on the other hand refuse to become diabetic. At my heaviest I was 330lbs. High blood pressure, always hungry due to insulin resistance, not feeling good, everything hurt……. Today one year later I am down to 280lbs, blood pressure normal , I am no longer hungry all the time, aches and pains are much less and my brain fog/memory is so much better. All my blood work is now in the normal range to include triglycerides, hdl and ldl. What did I do to change my life? Well I learned about sugar and insulin resistance by listening to videos like this. Then I completely changed my diet. Whole Foods only. Good protein, good fats and low good carbs. No longer eat any processed foods. I also fast 18/6 everyday. I only eat between 12 and 6 and eat two healthy meals. I have to say detoxing from sugar was difficult but after two weeks I was 100% better. Now I can go 18 hour’s fasting without being hungry. Now I workout every other day for two hours-walking and light weights. I am still losing weight and hope in another year or so I’ll be at my ideal weight. Don’t be like my mom. Make changes for a healthy lifestyle. You won’t regret it.

I'm so thankful I discovered your videos a year ago. I'm 48 years old and spent my life counting calories, losing weight, gaining it back plus some. I feel a sense of peace that I have never known. Because of what I have learned from you, not only am I healthy but I can teach my husband and children the right way to eat. My daughter is a senior in high school. She came home last week and said she had a teacher going over health in class. Telling everyone to be sure and eat 3 times a day with snacks and breakfast was the most important meal of the day!🤦♀️ I'm so thankful that my daughter knows better! My friend just lost 20 pounds on a diet that has her eating every 2 hours their food she buys in packages. I said “ you are spiking your insulin constantly “ but I shut up because she is happy
Excellent perspective of the metabolic syndrome. I can’t understand how it is possible that some medical and nutrition schools are still teaching the wrong old school theory. Thank you Very much for this lectures.
I saw your video around February this year, I went straight into a 62 hour fast after never fasting before. Maybe I should of built up to this with shorter fast, thats me though. What was remarkable was how my back pain went down to practically nothing, I slept like a baby with deep peaceful dreams and I had mental clarity at times that was amazing. The day after I broke the fast and started to eat again I felt like I was 20 years ago, my thoughts everything. It was a amazing.
I am insulin resistant in my early 50s, eating too much and eating junk. I was diagnosed with prediabetic in my 60s, A1C vary from 5.6-5.7 blood glucose 107-117, up and down for over a decade. The only reason my test results hold me at prediabetic level is that I am very active, exercise and practicing sports all my life since I was a kid. I started IF last year, 16-20 hours daily, eating healthy, walking 2 hours daily, hiking weekends. Last week my tests came back with A1C 5.5, blglucose 99. I expected it lower than that but I am right at the border limit. May be my age, am now 70. I heard older people and elderly have a different measurements and that show higher than younger people. Isn't it? I strongly believe exercise is very important and necessary for a healthy life.

If most doctors were like you, this world would be a much better place. Thank you for telling the truth, it takes so much courage, dr Ekberg. You are a true hero!
I like this guys approach. He does a good job at breaking down the problem and even pointing out the faults of the allopathic approach to problems with medications. As a physician myself, I’ve always used a holistic approach to diabetes and insulin resistance. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the people I see for diabetes are extremely reluctant to change their lifestyle as to their diet and exercise. That to me is the absolute most important factor when it comes to this topic. I have seen people reverse their condition with and without medication. The key is their attitude about how they will live their lives.
I'm a little confused .l have pcos and some say it's insulin issues. Does one do keto or carnivore? And if have fatty liver and suggestions ? Hi Sten, Lee here in Atlantic City New Jersey. I have been watching most of your videos for awhile and I have learned a lot. I read a lot, I am a avid bookworm, and I am always reading a variety of subjects including the latest trends and discovered facts in health and biology. You definitely know what you are talking about and it is my pleasure to listen to you telling it like it really is concerning caring for your body. My experience with doctors is that most are lazy with their diagnosis and also obviously not knowledgeable about their specialties. Very frustrating trying to find a good doctor and to even have a conversation. Fortunately I have been lucky enough to have been healthy most of my life. But now that I am a "senior citizen" my body is going through challenges and changes. The reality is that it's best to just be proactive in my health care and constantly educate myself so I know what to do to stay healthy because from what I've seen and heard the health care industry is not interested in helping people stay healthy or become healthy because that's bad for business. So I want to say thank you for your thoughtfulness and education in your videos. I continue to learn a lot. I appreciate your time and effort to help us to be aware of how to get healthy and stay healthy. Oh yeah, I am now 69.
If your watching, I love your videos. So so helpful, thank you, I love you. You are the shiznit. I've been living this for 3 month's. No processed sugar or processed carbs for 3 months, I've lost 28 pounds and I feel amazing.

Wow. So glad you are here and are talking about this! You are a life saver❤. I learned the past year I was insulin resistant. It took me a while to have me realize it. I had gained 35 pounds when I turned 72 due to bad eating habits and a broken ankle. I have now lost the weight the hard way. I got sick from a diet plan and turned to did intermittent fasting. The diet plan I went on is called slim 4 Life. It is a good plan but not if one is insolent resistant. It actually made me very sick. It involved 3 healthy meals, their snacks in between meals and fruit 2 times a day along with their pills. I am so insulin resistant that I really cannot eat without gaining weight. I realize now that I have been insulin resistant for a few years. I talked with my doctor about it last January who didn’t suggest doing anything about it. I don’t think I was taken seriously. I believe for me this started when I became post menopausal. I am now 73 years old. People have told me for years I’ve always looked 15 years younger than whatever age I am at the time but my health needs help. I want to reverse insulin resistance. ❤
So happy to have found you Dr. Ekberg, everything just makes so much sense now, followed your advice for 3 months now and I feel amazing and have lost over a stone in weight 😀 finding it hard to get other people to listen though, people are just so defensive towards carbs it's insane 😂
Well done. It is truly worth it. I've lost a total of 2 stone in 10 months. I was recently carrying groceries weighing 1 stone and realised that I had lost twice that amount and thought how much my knees and lower back must be appreciating not carrying around all that extra weight.
Yes. People are very defensive of bread and sugar. Once I started telling people I no longer ate bread or sugar, they began delivering cookies, candy, and bread to my door! No joke. My neighbors panicked when I told them I no longer eat bread. They thought I would die without bread. Unbelievable.
Completely random comment - anyone else impressed by the way he's able to seemingly write backwards without any issues? Quite possibly just a trick of the camera and editing but my brain focused on that so heavily for a minute or two that I had to watch back the video to actually listen to what he said 🤣 (thanks adhd)
Insulin resistance (is a surviival mechanism). - overload meaning eating too much sugar and carbs) Causes 1. Sugar 50% glucose and 50% fructose and alcohol (fatty liver) 2. Carbohydrates and starches Reverse:: 1. Don't eat sugar and don't drink alcohol 2. Know your carbs intake (e.g.. 30 grams a day mostly from green leafy, veggies, berries, nuts) 3. Do not eat more than you need ( 12 oz of meat and 1 aTbsp of butter per meal) 4. Distribute your food properly during the day 5. Know your supplements needed
I walk an hour every day. My glucose has gone to 135. I eat lots of vegetables and chicken. I’ve lost muscle and weigh 94 lbs. I have Hashimoto, hypothyroidism, osteoporosis and di not what to do. I think I have insulin tolerance. My primary doesn’t have a clue about all these health issues of mine. My blood test shows normal. I measure my glucose and it doesn’t seem normal. Thank you for your thorough explanation of Insulin’s resistance. I will continue to follow your savvy channel
Thank you for video and teaching true health by choosing the right diet. I do have type 2 diabetes since 11 years, starting with 12,1% hb1Ac and an erysipelas at my foot, right-hand side. I managed to decrease my hb1Ac down to 6% in 3 or 4 years. But I had a hard time to get my weight down to a more healthy level. I got frustated and eventually fall back in bad habits in my diet and stopped taking my drugs (Metformin and others). Last december I got an erysipelas on the other side and went to the hospital. My hb1Ac was 12,6% and I had to start taking insulin. This was a punch in my face and I understood, I had to something, before they had to amputade one or more toes. I found the concept of intermittent fasting and lchf diet. It took me a few weeks to adapt. But it worked. After 4-5 month I could stop taking insulin and now, after 8 month, I lost 20 kg (45 lbs) weight (still 35 kg to much) and could even reduce the amount of Metformin. Everything with the advice of a PhD. My question: Does it make sense to continue taking Metformin (currently 500mg - 0 - 1000mg). Does it has an effect on blood glucose, when eating lchf diet?
I quit Cokes and sugar or trying man it's difficult ,thanks doc for doing these videos I lost 12 pounds , fasting more and more .thanks for all you share
I was never told about insulin resistance. I am an ICU RN and only learned about it after I was diagnosed with diabetes. Researching it and on labs my total insulin in blood was doubled from normal. Lab done by my request. Diabetes doesn’t run in my family. So have made changes to diet
Thank you Dr . You make us understand so beautifully. I feel so wise after listening to your detail explanation and I highly grateful to you. Gratitude from India
I appreciate that he doesn’t vilify the body. The body is amazing and many of its parts: cholesterol, insulin, fat, and hormones are framed as the bad actors when in reality what we eat, and the chemicals polluting our water, air, and foods, are harming us and the body is doing the best it can.
Dr Ekberg thank you for being such honest physician Also if this contributes, my years of researching has let me to believe that our body is capable to breakdown the fat we eat into glucose as it needs, so there is no need of eating sugar or carbs, also we tend to metabolise fat way easier than carbs. Thank you sir
Thanks to you and recent researches I have lowered my high cholesterol and blood suger level and yet I'm steel trying to decrease it more ...3 months ago my fbs was 376 my a1c 10 . Cholesterol was 386 ...believe it after 3 months my Fbs 150 cholesterol 299 a1c 8.8 ...simply I have changed my style of life you were right
The only way I discovered all of this info was because I have chronic pain, doctors presume fibromyalgia, but as it stands, just like insulin resistance, there is also 'no known cure for fibromyalgia'. I was only 21 when the pain first started. After 6 years of thinking there was something cellularly wrong with me, I read somewhere that sometimes chronic pain can be your body telling you there is a problem elsewhere. I then saw a medical study published where fibromyalgia patients were given metformin and their pain decreased by 80%. This lead me to channels like yours and Dr. Berg's where you guys honestly tell the truth about the problem of insulin resistance. The global medical consensus on these issues is that there is something fundamentally wrong with our bodies or our genes that cause these problems, but in fact it's what we ingest that makes the most impact. From as early as primary school we are taught that our biggest food group should be carbohydrates. There has been a massive campaign for decades to demonize fats and to keep us on this path of consuming huge amounts of sugar/carbs. Not only is sugar proven to be just as addictive as cocaine, the massive amounts of ads and marketing for sugar and carbs is insane, and these foods are the most commonly available and cheapest option most of the time. Fast food places are cheap, even in supermarkets, "healthy" foods are generally more expensive. It's like being a drug addict and walking into a store where there are abundant drugs and in many cases the drugs are cheaper than the things that are good for you (and ingrained in our brains to be less appealing to consume). On top of IR causing chronic pain and all the other physical symptoms, it causes people to have no energy, to have mood problems, there are studies where schizophrenics were put on a Keto diet and cured a lot of their symptoms, so it also impacts mental health very badly. Fibromyalgia is associated with mood problems, and said to be a 'genetic predisposition'. This is the core of the globalist agenda to make people miserable, sick and ultimately die.. and then they have the cheek to blame us for it.
To challenge orthodoxy with critical thinking, leads to deeper understanding. I believe that you, Dr Ekberg, provide the necessary analytical tools that viewers can use to make their lives better. Thank you for turning knowledge into wisdom.
Dear Dr. Sten Ekberg Three years ago, I discovered that my A1c was 15 and my fasting sugar level is high, as well as after eating. In emergency I was put on insulin injections, but I was feeling a sharp drop in my sugar level to the point where I lost control of my nerves and my body as a whole Then I saw to my doctor and asked for a c-peptide test, the result was 1.8. He asked to stop the insulin( I only took it for three days 8 units dropped to 6) and put me on Janumet and also I was feeling a sharp drop in my sugar level !! After suffering for the month I read about the keto diet and watched your amazing videos and after three months my A1c was 6.6 then 5.4 after another three months and the result of the Homa IR was 0.58% and the fasting insulin was 2.7. and fasting glucose was 87 at the same test of homa ir Now, fasting sugar levels always under 99, and after eating, do not exceed 120 and sometimes 95 I am out of the keto or low carp diet for two years and I eat some fruits and very little brown bread and boiled basmati rice I have been eating average meals in quantity for nearly two years !! What is the explanation for this case, especially when I am out of the keto diet and things seem normal and I do not have any known symptoms of diabetes or even insulin resistance?! My last A1c 5 months ago was 4.4%. Sorry for the length, but I wanted to share with you my experience... Please guide me what should I do and what is my condition?!
Thank very easy to understand and do. I just started after a mini stroke. I'm ready for the challenge. I'm driven to getting my health back with your help. So thank you and God where ready to go. Thanks for the video.
Great video as always! It is funny to see clickbait title "Top 10 secrets"- but that's how the algorithm suggests videos. Your videos have so much more in depth knowledge than the title suggests. Thank you, Dr. Ekberg!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr! So clear and understandable 🙏🏻You are so helpful. I have been low-carb for about 5 months; BP down, 13% of body weight lost!
I went from 10.9 A1C to 6.8 in just 3 months. More Professional Medical Personel should check this out. I am sure there is a lot less money in curing, as aposed to treating. Life changing stuff here. I no longer am on any pills. Shooting for 5.8 next A1C. Thank you!!!
Thank you ďr Ekberg You were my first inspiration I leave here my experience not to get pride, because even God do not like this, but to encourage people. As others, by their writings, encouraged me. They gaved me hope and strength. My turn now. A1c From 10.7 to 6.2 within 2 months, then 4.9 within 3 months more. 64yo. I lost 22kg. From 100 to 78 today. Mostly omad. Once a month 48 hours fasting, walking 4-6 km a day. No more than 50g of carbs a day except some experiments. I WISH FROM DEEP MY HEART TO ALL THEY TRY FOR THEIR HEALTH FULLY SUCCESS SOON. DO NOT GIVE UP HAVE FAITH.
The biggest secret I learned from your videos is that every food has its harmonal effect . I have been messing around with calorie deficit crap. now i know why i was not losing fat but muscle and weak body until I saw your videos on intermittent fasting and high fat diets thanks for helping and my belly is shrinking day by day I was stuck at 100 and in three weeks with OMAD and weight training today my weight is 91 KG 😀
It has taken me several years to figure out what you explained here. This is the most concise and short video that can help so many people. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver 15 years ago, but there were no suggestions about how to fix it. I had to progress to basically uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and suffer the consequences. Also had to get cancer... Twice. Currently on chemo, but have taken this advice from other sources, and I'm doing much better now. Down about 20 lbs in about 2 and 1/2 months.
Thank you tom g. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and the mechanism we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄
I am convinced that this is what caused my condition. The doctors have told me they have no idea what causes it. However I am off of medication and they have told me it's gone now. I think fasting and low carbs are the answer. I just gotta get the rest of the weight off.
Thank you so much Dr. Ekberg. You broke this down perfectly for a common man like myself. Keep fighting the good fight. I value your videos they are saving lives.
I'm 57 years old. And I remember back when I was a child. My mother heard that cooking on fat is unhealthy so she cooked on sunflower seeds oil. Why was fat thrashed and flower and sugar favorit. In ,50 years to how many people was recommended not to use fat. Today I'm cooking on fat, using butter and olive oil. I feel good ( little ower weight but ok)
If you want to see how the anti-fat hysteria/myth started, watch Nina Teicholz's videos on the topic. The villain of the story is one of the greatest quacks of all time.
I've only been eating animal foods and the very occasional fruit for the past month. Already lost quite a bit of belly fat without losing muscle, and stopped peeing 15 times a day. Pretty sure I was prediabetic. I highly recommend everyone tries it.
I am a type 2 diabetic. I have been looking for a diet to control my diabetes. I have the general recommendations from my medical doctor and I can follow it. I don’t think that is the total answer. I can follow the keto diet but I am worried about cholesterol since all the males in my family died early from heart attacks. So I am a little lost on which way to go.
Ive been diabetic since 28 years old. Ive been on insulin for the longest time. Its is when I turn to excercise and controlling my meal that i get true relief. Movement is indeed medicine
@@arvindacharya4274 true that...basically it's all about profits with this company's and food franchise and restaurants and big pharma...if ur healthy and free of health problems and don't depend on there drugs , and addictive food then there against that..
Very true as i have been fasting for 3 years and it is only in this last year that my body has started to change. I'm 53 and for all my adult life, I would put weight on so easily as I used to eat 3 or 4 times a day and was always hungry. I yoyo dieted all my life until 3 years ago when I changed everything. I cut out all sugar and flour and have fasted an 18/6 6 days a week and I lost 16 kilos and plateau'd at 84kg from 100kg (33%fat). In the last few months, something changed and I now am starting to break the fast 3 days a week and still only 82kg so my body is not responding to extra meals as it did for 35 years. I am still experimenting but if you give it time, you can reverse/reset your insulin tolerance. I was the guy who used to say... skinny people don't understand fat people and... I'm just a naturally big guy/easy gainer. I have proven myself wrong as I am now stronger, leaner and healthier than have been since I was 22yr old. Your body is amazing but you need to give it time to remember how its supposed to work.
My dentist recommended you and Jason Fung. I have since learned enough to ask more informed questions of my doctor who seemed defensive that I would be so curious to suggest that the treatment for the evil cholesterol twin was perhaps unneeded statins in increasing strengths over time. He did touch on weight and exercise, but no comment on diet. I have lost 40 pounds since cutting all bread, most sugar and endless label reading. Thank you for all you do.

Thanks for your honest and emotional testimony ! I fully relate to your experience ! Thanks to Dr Ekberg !
Dr. Ekberg is not kidding when he talks about life saving videos!
WOW! That's pretty awesome 😎

THAT'S AMAZING!!!😊😊😊
I feel the same way.
Thank you.
Me too. I have learned so much. I feel like I want to go in nutrition career. He is so awsome.

Dear Doctor, the only and biggest problem is that most doctors do not approach this matter as they are supposed to like you do. Thank you so much.
I went from diabetic to non diabetic in 4 months. Do not eat any carbohydrates at all. You can do it. Your life is in the balance.
Even complex carbs? What about oatmeal?
@@unapologeticcook7168oatmeal still raises sugar and insulin. It’s also a gluten food. That can cause leaky gut and stomach issues.
Those raise your blood sugar as well.

Have you needed skin reduction therapy? Have you done colonics or coffee enemas?
For prediabetes and diabetes, many doctors still recommend:
1. reduce sugar
2. wholegrain bread
3. low GI rice
4. reduce saturated fat
5. plenty of fruit
6. plenty of veg
Reality: delete sugar, delete grains, delete fruit (except low sugar berries), increase natural sources of saturated fat, add veg for flavour (if not lectin sensitive).
So keto/ketovore?
Problem is the reality is hard to stomach for most not terribly ill. How do you enjoy your butter without that crispy piece of bread ? Or the cheese without a good glass of wine (and some delicious sweet grapes) ?

no drinks besides black coffee and water.
1-2 glasses dry dry dry white wine every few days.
1 extra long fast per week of 18-24 hrs.
once per week have a treat, like two bites of a piece of cheesecake or a fruit pastry. But ONLY two or three bites, once per week.
this is just an example. i vary my diet widely, but focus on the macro ratios. some days I'd have a crab meat egg scramble, then a ribeye with cauliflower and cheese, or something. Or, cheese, meats, nuts and berries for lunch, taco meat and dark leafy green salad with avocado and sour cream for dinner.
THEN, I started to go broke, and have since learned to eat cheaper. At the time, I was varying things more to keep myself on the plan. It was hard at first. Now I go to Aldi and have to remind myself to eat things OTHER than cottage cheese and irregular bacon :)

That's amazing news..
Would love to know how to. Lower liver levels mine is 70-80 sgpt and 45-50 sgot
Which of your successful methods should we focus on implementing the most to get off of hypertension meds ????
80 kg weight with a waist of 44?
To watch this without Insulin resistance is such a flex. Thanks to you, doc.
Thank You Cillu Magellan. 😄
Can you give a example of a day eating please 🙏i have some problem and also i am very hungry always
@@cristianabarlan7257 I eat a small handful of mixed nuts about every 2 hours and drink water throughout the day. I never get hungry, and the weight continues to drop.
@@cristianabarlan7257 having a snack every 2 hours spikes insulin. Dr.boz ist very interesting also.

Well they would literally go out of business if they treated everybody correctly ;) Most doctors nowadays are totally hypocritical.
The only thing my 'doctor' does for me is drive up my blood pressure!
m
Doctors are taught using the pharmaceutical curriculum in medical schools. They are indoctrinated to treating symptoms with drugs, not curing diseases. Some learn the truth faster than others.
Did you have high blood pressure ? Could l ask what you dealt with ?
Doc, I believe you are walking in your calling. You are an amazing teacher and doctor. May God richly bless you with long life and great health.
If you watch any other doctor, they leave you with so many questions and confusions. but not with this great doctor, he covers every possible corner of the subject he is talking about. Thank you Dr.Ekberg
Try Dr Eric Berg. He has 2500 videos out to date!
Adapt Your Life channel is good. And so is Dr Ken Berry.
So True!
Thank you Na Vrh Brda Vrba Mrda for sharing your great results and helping inspire others. That is so awesome. I am thrilled that you have seen such great results. Keep it up! 😄
Doctor, that was the best presentation of ever seen and I learned more then all the supposedly medical professionals telling me what to do, my entire life thank you so much!
What do you think of different blood types and diets? Like O positive being meat eaters?
Thanks Doc, I am 64,
went Keto last year. I removed 35 pounds and reversed my arthritis. I was 175# and had trouble getting out of a chair. Now I feel like I did at 35.
Great job; keep it up 👍
Thank you for sharing. It's encouraging for others to hear.
Hello can u tell me inshort and easy way what is he saying thank you it wil be very helpfull to me
@@pkvlogs5891 hope this answer is helpful after such a long time. He is saying decrease your carbohydrates intake fruits and sweet things trigger insulin which is not good for you. Don't snack.
I'd like to know how did you reversed your arthritis. Since I have told not to eat meat because of the uric acid that will make 😮earthritis worse.
Discovering you, changed my life, I am now rid off Fatty liver, my Gout, and I lost more than 20 kilos in less than 6 months, I have been subscribed and following you for almost 6 months as well. I have been prescribed with an Amlodipine 10mg which increased from 5 mg, and now I am off of it, and my blood pressure had been normal without it for 2 months now...Thank you so so much...Please continue with your enlightenment...More Power to you my Doctor,
May l ask was your bp low and high ? Got higher at night? May l ask what you did to get well?
I'm lost and trying to understand? Is plant base and veggies ok?
Keto? Or carivore? Or did you just stop the sugar and bread ??? Pls would live a little guidance
Thank you Dr. Ekberg for all that you do. Sharing your knowledge with us. God bless you.❤
Excellent sharing this vidio top 10 secrets to Reverse insulin resistance Naturally. Thanks again Dr.Ekberg

Actually young people probably should eat frequently ..but everybody over forty should do omad
Excellent perspective of the metabolic syndrome. I can’t understand how it is possible that some medical and nutrition schools are still teaching the wrong old school theory. Thank you Very much for this lectures.
Absolutely. Then again they don't make money on healthy people.

I worried as online they say help with insulin but l see lots if salads ? Are salads OK? Fiber? Whom can you recommend cause lm don't want to die like my grandpa diabetes and liver issues

Whew !

What do you recommend as a diet?
What should we eat?
You're talking all around it.

I think the fact you are writing backwards is the most impressive info in this video.
Insulin resistance (is a surviival mechanism). - overload meaning eating too much sugar and carbs)
Causes
1. Sugar 50% glucose and 50% fructose and alcohol (fatty liver)
2. Carbohydrates and starches
Reverse::
1. Don't eat sugar and don't drink alcohol
2. Know your carbs intake (e.g.. 30 grams a day mostly from green leafy, veggies, berries, nuts)
3. Do not eat more than you need ( 12 oz of meat and 1 aTbsp of butter per meal)
4. Distribute your food properly during the day
Thank you for your thorough explanation of Insulin’s
resistance.
I'm on day 53 of my strict carnivore way of eating and feel great. 64 years old, 6 ft tall, 172 lbs. No meds whatsoever, not even aspirin.

I appreciate that he doesn’t vilify the body. The body is amazing and many of its parts: cholesterol, insulin, fat, and hormones are framed as the bad actors when in reality what we eat, and the chemicals polluting our water, air, and foods, are harming us and the body is doing the best it can.
Dr Ekberg thank you for being such honest physician
Also if this contributes, my years of researching has let me to believe that our body is capable to breakdown the fat we eat into glucose as it needs, so there is no need of eating sugar or carbs, also we tend to metabolise fat way easier than carbs.
Thank you sir
Thanks to you and recent researches I have lowered my high cholesterol and blood suger level and yet I'm steel trying to decrease it more ...3 months ago my fbs was 376 my a1c 10 . Cholesterol was 386 ...believe it after 3 months my Fbs 150 cholesterol 299 a1c 8.8 ...simply I have changed my style of life you were right
Without drugs ....only food and fasting
Love your work Dr.Ekberg!! Big fan of your health, diet and fitness advice!! Much respect👍

Dear Dr. Sten Ekberg
Three years ago, I discovered that my A1c was 15 and my fasting sugar level is high, as well as after eating.
In emergency I was put on insulin injections, but I was feeling a sharp drop in my sugar level to the point where I lost control of my nerves and my body as a whole
Then I saw to my doctor and asked for a c-peptide test, the result was 1.8.
He asked to stop the insulin( I only took it for three days 8 units dropped to 6) and put me on Janumet and also I was feeling a sharp drop in my sugar level !!
After suffering for the month I read about the keto diet and watched your amazing videos and after three months my A1c was 6.6 then 5.4 after another three months and the result of the Homa IR was 0.58% and the fasting insulin was 2.7. and fasting glucose was 87 at the same test of homa ir
Now, fasting sugar levels always under 99, and after eating, do not exceed 120 and sometimes 95
I am out of the keto or low carp diet for two years and I eat some fruits and very little brown bread and boiled basmati rice I have been eating average meals in quantity for nearly two years !!

Thank You Jose Meraz. I'm so glad you found it valuable and I appreciate the feedback. 😄
Brilliant! I've, finally, been informed of what IR truly is. I appreciate it, Dr. Ekberg!
How are you and may l ask what type of cancer
These videos are so much more helpful than any info I have heard. On my journey to get control of my health. Thank you so much Dr. Sten!!
Dr Ekberg is the true “Health Champion”!! Thank you for sharing all that knowledge with us!!

How fantastic - keto?
extremely well explained in a perfectly logical way. you just added several years to my life. thanks doc!
Animal food will increase cholesterol and many more problems
@@rahulbangar786 I don’t think so .
@@rahulbangar786please listen to Professor Ben Bikman. He will explain why you are incorrect. We have been lied too, for a long time.
I reduced my carbohydrates and reversed my Type 2 along with loosing 65 pounds. This works!
Just basically go the opposite what the government is recommending...sounds about right
Lemme just replace the word government with companies
@@arvindacharya4274 true that...basically it's all about profits with this company's and food franchise and restaurants and big pharma...if ur healthy and free of health problems and don't depend on there drugs , and addictive food then there against that..
Spot on 🙏
Thank You Varela manila. 😄
Government, more so corporations. They are the ones that are profiting off us.
