Happy, Safe Adventuring - Cheers Graham.
I found the Ikea Skubb organizers to be pretty good for separating sections within a draw too
Great camping truck and set up, thanks for sharing be safe take care.
Great to see you back on the tube mate, some good and practical mods and updates 👍🏽
Nice set up with the comforts of home 👍👍👍
Thanks mate - yeah it’s comfy & practical
good one thanks
At the start I was going to leave a comment saying overkill, but I ended up liking your setup
Cheers mate 👍🏻 - for most it is overkill....but for how often we use it, for where we go & what we do, it’s perfect 👌🏻.
It’s been an expensive year for you Graham. Good to see all is coming together and your able to get back out there.
Apparently not expensive enough 😂 - got some unavoidable renos to knock out at home now.....will be glad to see the back of them & get back out on trips again.
Good video! A couple of questions: 1. In removing the second row of seats did u have any issues with airbags? 2. Is your fridge slide a tilting on an is it a Dunn & Watson? Many thanks.
No - there are work arounds for removing the rear seats with the airbags. Yes the fridge slide is the Dunn & Watson tilting version.
Great walk through. I'm thinking about getting a clamshell RTT. Where I live there is a lot of rain so inevitably it will get closed when wet. I guess it's no different than a ground tent in that respect, you just need to open it up again ASAP to air it out?
Correct mate - would be nice to be able to open it up inside the carport or shed, but it’s too tall....so I just open it up, outside to let it dry out.
Ssb quality battery, had mine 130ah mounted on its side for 4 years plus accidently left my engel running in the garsge and had it down to 9v, the dcdc brought it back to life.
Yeah I’ve had to jump myself from it the other day too.....no dramas at all.
Hi Graham, nice to see an update from you. Looks now like a 5 star accommodation !! great ...
Liked very much your rear setup and definitive will go for it rhs & lhs Behind the spare wheels. Like your roof set up, for camping, but I guess you will pay the price for it so top heavy !! Your roof must be loaded to the maximum and your care must drive like a rubber ducky when cornering or swerving around! What’s your roof and top weight ?. 150kg ? I would be worry about the little screw tabs in the roof console not lasting the corrugations drive. Please watch that closely they are not designed for such loads. Rather then that, you gave me some new ideas for my 200 series build to finish. All the TH-cam postings are GOLD !!to learn from each other nowadays. How about : Glind under bonnet heat exchanger running with a 12V pump from your soft bag water tank with a Gardena spray heat for low water consumption showers in your new toy on the right side ??? Cheers mate
Hey mate - yeah it’s turning into a comfortable setup....the dynamic load capacity of the roofs on the 200 series are rated for 200kg, my tent weights 57kg, rack 9kg, awning 18kg & ensuite 9kg.....so 93kg in total.....with the wider rim offset it honestly drives just as well as factory....except it uses a bit extra fuel. Hot water will be something to look at next I reckon, either a gas instantaneous or glind
Looks awesome. Great vid👍. What Ram mount is that. I’m looking at purchasing one but not sure which model to get.
Nice rig👌I’ve seen a fella that just occy straps his ladder to the inside of the rear passenger door and said it’s great as he’s got rear seats removed and only uses the outside door handle- what brand is your water bladder?
Not a bad idea 👌🏻. My bladder is from flexi-make it’s going on 5yrs old now & its going strong 👌🏻
Really like the slimline RTT. Good info for ideas i might borrow (steal). Not a criticism just meant as feedback. Try to cut back on the use of obviously. Love ya work and im a long time subscriber.
Cheers mate - appreciate the feedback & support 👍🏻
welcome home !!!!!
looking good mate! I actually went the other way with my HF antenna and put it on the front. I use it a lot and my 270 awning meant taking the whip off, I got sick of that so we're all different. I did like it on the back for protection but ease of use made me move it. Cheers Steve
Yeah it was a consideration with my awning too.....I set the antenna low enough and far enough away I can just slightly bend the whip to put the awning out....not ideal, but limited options.
Great video mate. I have Motop V2 tent. Did you attach awning to tent for roof rack and how?
Roof rack mate, due to strength and I do occasionally remove the tent if needed. I just made some steel brackets, they seem to do the trick.
Hey mate, where abouts can I go to see this tent in person in Perth? Cheers
Aus 4WD Equipment in Bassendean or MW Toolbox in Oconner
@@great_offroad_adventures Brilliant, cheers mate!
Hey mate why is your tilt slide arms bent? they seem to be bent inwards. Cheers.
Great video. A question re the 240v power at back of vehicle - is the Inverter to power point feed protected?
If not correctly protected then it could create live AC on your car chassis if the wiring gets damaged/rubs through.
So many cheap inverters out there and many people do not recognise the risk of death from a 'portable'/vehicle mounted inverter.
Nah - the power point to the rear doesn’t come on with the inverter.....I’ve got a 240V inlet that is tucked away and is connected when I’m at home or in a caravan park & it powers the fridge & that power point you mentioned & it’s protected 👍🏻.
Thanks for the walk around 👍I have the same Rtt and have used about 4 times. Absolutely love it. Was wondering if you have used it while raining ? I’m off to the Goldfields at the end of the month and was thinking of spraying some waterproofing around to help out. What’s your thoughts ? Cheers
Yeah it rained the first Night we used it - no issues, I put some sealant on the corners of the base where the sail tracking ends.....just to prevent anything sneaking in that way & it’s been all good.
Thanks for another enjoyable walk-around-update. I'm curious what/if you done anything with the 200's tailgate (storage, protective covering etc...)?
Yeah I keep all my utensils & cutlery in them - it’s in my original walk around video I believe.
Setup looks great mate.
Pretty happy with it - couple more little tweaks to do still
Great video. Btw where do you store your gas bottle that you used to have on the roof please?
Have a bracket for my wheel carrier now, otherwise I don’t take it & just use the fire & butane cartridges.
Looks great & practical Graham, was wondering has your new engine warranty run its time yet? So then you can fit the Moonlight Fab airbox. I’ve never had a fox wing style awning as I’m worried about it catching too much wind (live on the south coast of WA) Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Warranty hasn’t run out yet - barely ticked over 6000kms on the new one 😕....need to do some more trips.
I grew up in the South West and routinely visit that area along with the south coast & haven’t had any issue with my awning....if it’s windy, I always peg it down.....and I’ve been in some fairly windy conditions.
Who did your bar work on the rear of your vehicle please?
Have you had any issues with the HF aerial and tuning that close to the tyre? As tyres have circular wire in case and beads I remember reading somewhere that this can cause issues for aerials attached to wheel holders.
To be honest because of COVID - we haven’t headed away, so haven’t even signed up to a network yet.....so I can’t say.
Looking good Graham, will be interested on seeing how you go with the Motop RTT I have been looking at my options to speed up setup time and convenience.
Hopefully you will be allowed out to travel now in WA so looking forward to some trips fro you soon, we are stuck in NSW during winter not ideal :(
Yeah we can travel throughout the whole of WA now. Hopefully get a few trips under the belt soon.....definitely been missing them.
Will share my thoughts on it as we go & do a in-depth review at the end.
Hi Graham, Have you had any issues with your fridge tilt slide rattling. I have tweaked mine but it still it makes more noise than the Missus.
Very minor rattles, but nothing I haven’t been able to live with.
Hi Graham, what rear bar is that? Good vid, cheers.
Ultimate 4WD rear bar, no longer made now, I’d probably get an Outback Accessories or Raslar bar if I had to again.
Glad to see you've put the dusting behind you and getting on with what you love! Cheers:)
Just wondering what you do for camp chairs ? Do you use the standard bulky ones and if so where do you store them when touring ? Or do you use those compact hiking chairs ?
We have fairly standard size camp chairs, they fit nicely in the rear storage area, normally with the food boxes underneath them.
@@great_offroad_adventures ok cheers
If your looking for some compact camp chairs. Check out the front runner expander chair. Fullsized chair that folds and packs down to fk all insize. Good bit of kit, those hiking chairs are pretty shit.
Glad to see you back Graham, keep up the great content. It's appreciated 👍
In regards to your solar blanket (as I'm wanting to purchase one), what brand do you use and would you recommend others to buy this one after your experience with it.
It’s a 200W KT solar blanket.....can pair it up with my 120W panel on the roof & it’s putting in 18-20A if the battery is flat.....has impressed me & perfect for my needs when we park the car up for a day or two & need to feed it some extra charge.
Excellent, thanks Graham 👍
Great work Graham! How much does it weigh?
Great work Graham! How much does it weigh? Yes I’m curious too. I think it has more accessories than. I’ve seen on any car before
whats the name and where did you get the ensuit from
Quick Pitch En-suite - from Quick Pitch Australia
Good informative video. Looks really heavy though
Yeah it’s heavy, if I was tackling tough terrain then I’d be trying to lighten it, but for touring, the additional weight isn’t so much as issue.
Definitely a lot more de cluttered, looks good
We’re does your weight come in now in your general day driving and fully loaded
Cheers mate - yeah it’s a lot easier to use now too.....weights marginally less than before....planning another round of weight reduction soon.
So I weighed mine yesterday with 30lt water in tank and approx 40lt fuel, came in at 3540kg, a couple of hundred more than I expected, you must be close to that I’d imagine
why do Aussie trucks have carpet on the dash?
Protect the Dash from our ridiculous ball of fire in the sky that scorched our country.
Way tooo much unnecessary shit, to heavy
Unnecessary for who?
Everything on the vehicle has a purpose & is used.....so in my opinion it’s necessary.
