Outstanding video! I bought the S1 for my birthday last month and recognized right away that that fan was lame. Your audio is perfect. Your instructions are concise and without confusion...I do appreciate this. I'm 70 and need all the clarity I can get, lol. Thank you very much.
Very welcome! Stick around
Literally one of the best tutorials I’ve ever watched on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the guide, I installed mine without a hitch, used eSun PLA+, working fine without a problem yet.
I also used the stock spacers they provided, seemed to be the right spacing I needed funnily enough.
It's great you make such detailed step by step video's. It is very easy to follow. Some other channels can take an example. Thanks!
Thanks so much!! I try to teach the way I want to be taught. Slowly and Completely. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Really complete and well done.
Super easy to follow your video! Thanks!
Awesome channel man
Thank you brother!!
Thank you for making an awesome video that is easy to follow. My Ender 3 S1 has given me nothing but trouble since I got it. I just replaced the firmware, because before that all it did was make shrill sounds and flash red lights from the leveling sensor. I have some replacement parts coming from Creality. So, fingers crossed that I ordered the right ones. Because this is the final attempt to make this damn thing right.
I am not a fan of the S1. It SHOULD be super, but for whatever reason, mine was a pain in the ass. Careful with "Upgrades". What is yours doing?
@3DRundown Driving itself into the print plate until I updated the firmware. Then that bricked it (the red-light and screaming). Then, I installed the professional firmware. Which seems to have resurrected it.
Now I'm having issues with consistent temperatures, the prints not sticking to the print plate, but the strip that prints before the print to clear the print nozzle prints perfectly and sticks.
I replaced the nozzles with - I think they were carbide? I tried to pull them back up on the creality page, but I can't find them. But they were supposed to be both crush and heat resistant.
I have on order: a replacement magnetic plate, because the current one was ruined and is missing chunks. Also, the glass one. Because the magnetic one has me at my wits end. A replacement auto leveling sensor (because I thought that might be the reason for the sudden dive into the print plate?) And the ceramic heating piece for the sprite Extruder (because of the sudden inability to maintain temperature stability. It looks like its plug and play, so it should be an easy part swap. But knowing creality, I'll end up screaming profanities.)
Right now, I'm watching your bed leveling video and doing that.
Your Z Offset is causing the nozzle to hit the bed. When replacing firmware, you will need to set the Z Offset again.
Use the glass. It is best.
Use MRISCOC firmware
I have not test the ceramic hit end, but the Speedy Spider Hot end uses it, and I hat troubles with it. Maybe this one will be ok.
The problem is likely the thermistor, or heater tube. Or, you need to run a PID tune.
@3DRundown Good to know! I planned on tuning it while swapping out the bed. Just do it all at once.
Do any of the parts require greasing or lightweight oil lubrication?
And when you replace the thermistor, the paste used, is that just standard thermal paste?
Don't go crazy on parts. Do what you need 1st, and of course, the Glass bed. No oils oils or grease. Only PTFE like this: Though, I almost never have used it on anything.... amzn.to/3OJypmt
There are mixed opinions, but, a little Thermal Paste, similar to CPU Thermal Paste will work.
Thanks for that video:)
Welcome!
You are amazing!!! Very well described! Continue in that way ;)
Thanks so much, will do!!

Hello everything is fine? I have an Ender 3 S1 Plus. With this change, can the nozzle reach 300 degrees of heating? Did you need to make any code changes to the software or change something in the Sonic Pad?
I really like your videos, you explain very well.
Thanks for everything and hugs.
Thanks!
Very welcome! Can't thank you enough, for the Super Thanks. Means allot, and helps me keep going! :)
Honestly though Great explanatory Video.
Weirdly enough Creality never advertised this upgrade for the CR10 Smart or Smart Pro. So many Crealiyy users are unaware of this upgrade option.
I'm not sure why they keep this so under the radar. It's a solid kit
Hi! In fact, the stl file can be found in the url referred on installation guide, you just need to create a creality cloud account, then select the upgrade kit and hit the download button. I’ve installed that kit and it was very very easy, but Creality does provide the stl file. Cheers!
I tried dozens of times, and even spoke to Creality about it. They told me only resellers can make the account. If it's working now, things have changed. However, I wouldn't use that stl.
Well, great video. For Creality - my kit break pin of hotend, so I`m now searching for new PCB.
Hope it's fixed up now
@3DRundown - Sorry for late reply. At the end, I ordered new PCB. Works fine now. Installed it another way for second time - pluged hotend cable first and then moved whole PCB into place. Seems making little bit smaller tension - connector is OK now.
Ooo don't pull on the thermistor wires.. they snap so easily. Go for the plug only to disconnect.
😂😂
I bought this kit and changed to the 0.6mm nozzle before even using any filaments, but i am getting underextrusion. My profile was already a 0.6mm cht nozzle so this is very weird for me.
Any suggestions? I looked inside and all threads looked great and no obstructions. Same distance between hex-head and heatblock as well.
Nice walk through. I was looking for this but only how to print and mount the Zuff duct. Question, is it imperative that it’s printed in PETG? Does the duct get close to the nozzle enough to warp or soften it if it’s PLA?
I think you'd be ok with PLA. Print 2. When/if one warps, swap it.
@@3DRundown Oh yeah, haha of course!
Having already bought the diamond tip nozzles that fit the s1pro I'm wondering is this kit still worth buying for the upgraded fan alone with the hot end that comes as standard with the s1pro running klipper.
Thank you :)
Yes and no. If you can get the creality fan, I would go with that. Then print the Zuff. If not, you can get another 5015 and splice the connector yourself. I am not in love with being restricted to the spider 1 Nozzles
Thank you for uploading this! I have a few questions, if you don't mind.
1. Does this new fan improve sound? My stock Ender 3 S1 is pretty loud while running, so if this fan makes it quieter I think it'd be worth it just for that.
2. What's the issue with the nozzle? I don't know much about nozzles since I just got into the hobby, but I was wondering why you said it's bad. Would you say the nozzle makes this kit not worth it, or less worthwhile? Also, is the nozzle a standard 0.4mm like stock?
3. Do you have to change any settings on the printer or in the slicer after installing this kit?
4. Is there a reason why you went with the 3D printed CR Touch spacers over the metal ones provided with the kit?
I only have a quick min, but didn't want to leave you waiting.. so, quickt:
1.) The fan is reasonably quiet.
2.) they are proprietary, so cost more, and less options, but not really THAT big a deal. The Speedy Spider, went back to using MK8. That is the way they shoulda went. That said, the Nozzles are good nozzles. Not a single clog yet.
3.) No. unless you want to try pushing it for more speed
4.) Because the Zuff Shroud is not compatible with the Metal one
Nice video explaining all. Those nozzles are a hateful "upgrade" when you have dozens of mk8 or v6 around. One thing I did notice, why are you using a torx T10 driver on allen screws? I know it worked but just curious.
It works. That's exactly why. 😜 They do work, and since we're not using a ton of torque on these little screws. There really isn't much worry about stripping. Also, get the new Speedy Spider! They corrected the Nozzle situation
Do you have to use Pet-G for the mount? I can never find any sort of direct best solution to upgrade airflow for the Sonic Pad so I found a kit and will be here this week. Was there any sort of issue with fan speed through the settings of klipper I know people say if they splice in a fan it makes a lot of issues, that’s why I went this route
Yes, I used PET-G
Wondering if are there any adjustment on the Klipper for the new height of the cr-touch?
Nah, just add the spacer and you're good.
One thing i just noticed is that there may be a possibility that you need to change the flow and temperature setings. This is just a speculation based on what keeps hapening to me, but even with the v4 fan duct, though it worked much better, it still seems to have some blobs and cant print overhangs that well. If its a high flow kit, then the plastic would melt faster or more than it did previously right? Should the flow settings be changed in cura so it wont overflow and mess up the over hangs? Or maybe lower the temperature too?
You may indeed want to do some calibrating. For me. A small retraction change was all I needed. Can run some Calibration towers. Temp, speed, retractions. See how things look
Is there a way to just get the blower fan? I installed the bi-metal heatbreak / thermistor to replace teh PTFE tubing one before knowing about this upgrade. I'd like to install this blower to avoid having to do wiring with a different brand.
Sadly, I haven't been able to find it.
Great video. thanks. I just bought a couple of 5015 GDStime for mine, but they come with a much bigger JST connectors. Do I need to replacement with smaller one? if yes, what's the size of the smaller JST? is it JST-PH or micro mini? Thanks
Yea, seams only the Creality fan has the correct connection. I'm not sure what the right one is. I'd have to google some. Can splice it to the creality wire
They are Picoblade 1.25mm jst connectors..amazon has them in kit form.
I jave managed to actually download the file of the fan duct or mount. There was actualy a typo in the manual I'm the English translation. Go to the one thats in Chinese. It will then lead you to the high flow kit product and there is a download button. Thats where you get the file. You have to make an account though to have access to the download.
According to Creality, it is not possible to make an account. I tried for about 2 weeks. They told me the site is only for re-sellers. They eventually sent me an stl, but it's wrong. Doesn't work at all. How did you manage to get this, and does the file fit? I was told by others, that the file is actually a users file that they took and provided without permission.
Hi, thanks for your videos.
I can't find the kit on the creality site.
I find the spider Hotend but it has no fan and I am not sure if it has the right length cables. Do you know if it is available on any other vendors?
thanks
Make sure on correct shop. Go to creality.com and click "store", type in High flow kit.
Been having the same problem. Can only find the high flow kit for the Ender 3 V2
@@hleumasg at the moment unfortunately it is only available in the US store
Hi there, great vid. Ive recently got inyo printing and love it.. I;m looking to updrade my cooling on my Ender S1 Pro and like this mod - bdoes it still stand up now in Apr 2024 or is there a better cooling mod to do.. Any help advice very welcome. Sub'd liked etc
This shroud has been updated since here, and there is a new version, but I prefer this one still. Welcome
@@3DRundown ok many thanks for fast reply.. Im juat watching through your vids... And i'll take look at booth Thanks
Did i understand right, that ti doesnt matter if the cr touch is mounted wirh a 10 cm or 3mm spacer? So it cant be mounted wrong if i use spacer from 3.5mm and up?
Use the smallest spacer that works. The ones that come with the kit should be fine. In the retracted position, the probe needs to be above the Nozzle.
How does the Creality Cooling Fan Kit for High Speed Printing with Sonic Pad 24V Upgrade [B0C2BVG7W7] compare to the High Flow kit 5015 fan? I have ordered both kits and intend to test the 3x 5020 kit before installing the fan in your video. I intend to install the High Flow nozzle upgrade either way, but it could be helpful to have some discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of these kits. I was unable to find any buyer reviews or videos for the 3x fan kit. Also, it is unclear if using both fan upgrades simultaneously is advisable (or too much extra weight, for example).
I haven't got my hands on the new fan kit, but it likely crushes the 5015. That said, i've had no cooling issues at all
Have you experienced rebooting when printing Petg? I run the Sprite pro and everytime I run material at higher temps than pla like Petg @235c my printer reboots after about 30min or so. I would expect the sprite pro fans can handle those temps since it is marketed as a multi material extruder. Pla, Petg, abs, carbon, nylon, etc. I’m stumped. Maybe you have had this happen and may have a tip?
This has got to be somekind of wiring situation. I would consider replacing the Thermistor or heater tube
@@3DRundown thanks for the pointer. I guess how’s a good time to trap the high flow kit. Been contemplating it since I watched your video on it.
Changed my retraction from 1mm to 3mm and increased retraction speed and print speed a little and it worked itself out.
I saw you had the Ender 3v2 kit. Same upgrade? I’m sure the moutning is different
I never bothered to do it. Shroud options are a pain. Better off using a spider 3 or speedy
Thanks for your detailed information video. The fan model are used from zuff v3 the zuff created a upgraded model of V4 dual fan duct design so I requesting to you please make a tutorial video for newer v4 fan model same I requested to the creator Mr. Zuff so he said he don't have experience in video making stuff so if possible please make the 5015 dual fans v4 duct tutorial.
The 4 was actually out when I did the 3, but I liked the 3 Better. My S1 sucks. I don't even have it hooked up, but I'll see if I can do the V4
Were you able to print above 300degree or just the speed was affected?
You can, but I had no need
Hi just installed after following your video, just want to say thanks you simplified it just enough. Lol I should have planned on printing the ducts first, didn’t think the stock duct would have been in the way. I never bothered to check but the nozzle that cane installed, was it a .4mm or a .6? I’m printing the duct now and just thought of that. The packing list says 1x .6mm nozzle but there’s one installed and one in the bag. It seems to be printing fine so far with it sliced as a .4mm.
It should be a .4 installed. I think.....maybe.
@@3DRundown thanks hope your right the extra nozzle is .6
Just printed and installed the duct fan V4 and checked it is indeed a .04 installed.
This Spider hot end is quite a bit heavier than stock, has anyone tried the ceramic hot end for the Sprite? It’s much lighter.
Spider isn't for the Sprite, but the HF Kit uses the Spider heater block and Nozzle. Speedy Spider is Ceramic. Heats crazy fast. The Sprite Ceramic should as well
So this will be the solution for bad cooling on my ender 3 mad neo with sprite extruder pro so i can get higher speeds for klipper?
Yes
@@3DRundowndo you have a link for the one you bought?
what is the model/size of the nozzle. I cant find it anywere on box or document. How would i know to buy replacements.
Should be a link in the video description
I'm thinking of getting this for my S1 Plus. You said that you don't like the nozzle that came with this kit. Which nozzle do you recommend for it?
I think he might mean the thread length, it’s not usual and a bit longer than standard nozzles. But i‘m not 100 percent sure.
It's the "Spider Nozzle", you'll need to use that one. So far, It's working well, but they are a little pricey and less available than more standard V6 or MK8 nozzles
Yea, it's the Spider Nozzle. An uncommon size
How would you set the cooling parameters?
I keep it all on the default 0.2 profile fan settings
Are you using a v6 nozzle for this high flow kit?? Seen a lot of people saying to use that instead MK8 and wanna know if thats true?
They are Similar, but not meant to be compatible. They have different thread lengths.
@@3DRundownso what would you say to use with this? Because I’ve seen many people saying using the MK8 nozzles will ooze out filament? Just don’t want a big mess on my hands! And want to get some clean prints!
Micro Swiss Spider Nozzle 0.4: amzn.to/3mfwJoX
Micro Swiss Spider Nozzle 0.6: amzn.to/3KG9fDz
My Fan has the wrong connector ... its bigger .. what is the right name for the connector for the Ender 3 S1 Pro Fan ?
I think it was JST micro IIRC. Look into the S1 "modder board" which has standard JST fan connections on it.
Whats wrong with the nozzle that comes with the kit compared to the one on the spider.
The Nozzle in the kit IS a Spider Nozzle
Hi, where can i find these spacers for cr touch?
They come with the kit, or, make your own: th-cam.com/video/fhTIfO1m_yQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wiktFmKr4OD4TYI7
What kind of nozzle does this high flow hot end use? Is it the Creality mk -hf nozzle?
indeed
Thanks
Forgive me, it's spider nozzles, like this:
Micro Swiss Spider Nozzle 0.4: amzn.to/3mfwJoX
Micro Swiss Spider Nozzle 0.6: amzn.to/3KG9fDz
Which speed did you achieve with and without those upgrades?
I honestly don't push speed much at all. As printing is my full time business, I focus solely on Success, and Quality. I'm usually anywhere between 30-60, with 45ish being most common. This is on the low end.... But, this hot end has been great so far.
I'm using klipper and the sprite extruder pro kit, and I can print ABS to 200mm/s without any problems.
200mm/s has a flow of 16mm³/s, so the hotend can handle it well.
@@ledzpg do you have a ender 3 s1 ?
so this is a useful upgrade even for the s1 pro?
Less so, but YES.
What fan are you using?
5015 included in the kit
Does this make that much of a difference? Also, why not print with PLA?
Because PETG can handle higher temp, and is stronger. Mainly for the higher temps, so it won't warp.
@@3DRundownhave you found petg to continue to hold up? I’ve always used abs for parts near the extruder and heat plate for the added temp resistance but nice to know that petg as an option if it continues to hold up
Just installed mine, but the fan doesn't work. Might have to order a replacement
Weird. That stinks
@@3DRundown cheap fix though!
So would this be a considerable upgrade for my s1 pro?
More so for the S1 and S1 Plus, but you'll still get a better heat break, HF Nozzle, and much better cooling.
You said you have a class? Im wanting to learn more about printing. Setting/adjusting speeds, temp, walls. Etc.
I'm still confused does this actually upgrade the S1 pro? or just the S1?
BOTH. It will add a larger throat, and HF Nozzle. But it's a bigger upgrade for the S1, and S1+, as they don't have allmetal
@@3DRundown after much research I found it has a copper throat
Does this work on the S1 pro?
Yep
so can i use the spider hotend? on an s1?
No. You can use the new Ceramic Hot End, on the Sprite
You should offer a service to do this upgrade! i would send you mine to upgrade! 👍🏼
I'll do it. Make me an offer and let's get it done

Do you need to use the spacers?
Yesssir
@@3DRundown do I need to use as many as you did?
I would use the little metal ones that came with the kit, they will be the perfect length.
Can you tell if it is the same thermistor as the S1 pro?
I used the S1's thermistor. They look super similar to me...
Its a NTC100K-3950 if it still matters. 15x3 Cartridge style.
Is it possible to print the bracket without the new fan?
No, cause you'll have a big unused hole where the fan blower goes
Thanks so much @@3DRundown then I'm really big trouble now :) My Hotend Thermistor for the old Hotend broke and I can't print anymore. Because of bad delivery times and my Sonic Pad, I ordered this new High-Flow Kit. So I guess I will not be able to print the bracket :)

Oh? Where's that usually?
So, you didn't actually watch the video?

Creality has already moved on to the “speedy spider” ceramic hotend. By the time it starts shipping, there will be something else that they will never support
Yup. I have a few on the way. Can't wait. The Spider 3 has been kicking ass on my Ender 3 Max. Best hot end they ever made by far. Creality? Support? Lolz
@@3DRundown can you tell me where i can find the speedy spider for ender 3s1 ?
Would the S1 pro benefit from the high flow kit or does it already come installed?
Not as much as the S1 or S1+, as it's already all metal, but the throat and Nozzle are physically larger, so, while less so, it's a yes.
Ok ! But the original firmware are limited to 260°C
Yup. Firmware is up to you. Many choices. I use MRISCOC

Creality makes some excellent printers and equipment. But some of the ....methods...and....support, if youd call it that, make me scratch my head. thx to cool people contributing to a thriving community, their crappy support is not needed.
Creality are the most helpful, interactive, and friendly, 3D printer company by FAR. Their support is great. So great, I've become personal friends with many people at Creality.
@@3DRundown good to know. i WILL take your word for it. maybe i misunderstood, I meant instructions.
but reason i said that is cuz they provided the fan, with no solution for mounting. then when you opened the instructions, that link. Then the whole situation with the incorrect file that doesnt work. So you had to go thru "community support" to find the fan duct. And then....the design (in their instruction booklet) being somebody elses. BUT, i realize thats just the instruction booklet and isnt necessarily reflective of their support people. my ender 3 s1 instructions were goofy in a few spots too.
but i have done tech support before, and I know the pain, ;D, of having to be the support person, for a product that has an obscurity in the manual. As people will tend to hate on you (as if you wrote the manual yourself!) 😑
much respect to any support team that is worth mentioning because good tech support these days is harder and harder to find. most people outsource to india/manilla/etc....that sounds like a line, but im in IT support, so Im constantly calling many different manufacturers for stuff. I do appreciate support that will take the time to listen to you, and shows actual empathy, or tries.
I am however convinced that the worst support on the face of the planet lies in: Hewlett Packard. Pray you dont ever have the displeasure of experiencing their tech support.
Sorry Creality for crapping on your name, love you guys!
Oh man. Yea... The Duct fan was not ideal, and I was not pleased about that. I also couldn't get the "VIP" site, to work, where the duct was for download. This does not surprise me in the slightest, you only ever get half an upgrade with Creality, there is always something wrong with them, have you noticed how many influencers are no longer reviewing Creality products? Some stopped when they were trying to bribe people for favourable revirews
I don't watch any other influencers, but, I can tell you from my personal experience, that Creality has never asked, nor even HINTED, at leaving them a favorable review. I had an 80 minute Video chat with several people from Creality last week, and even then, nobody even so much as WINKED at me, for a favorable review. They simply ask me if I'm interested in an item. If I say yes, they give me a time frame on sending it, and that's that. They never ever guide me in any way, on how to cover the item. That said, I can only speak on my own experiences. Creality has some weakness, but, other 3D printers have the same, and most of them, deal with a much smaller user base than Creality. The industry as a whole, has much room for improvement, when it comes to support, and documentation
nice upgrade, but why would you ever need it? Surely not for 50-60mm/s printing and because this offers the best quality and least stress on the parts, i dont see why you ever have to go faster. Same goes for the standard 4010 fan. More than enough. Its usually even a better idea to reduce the fan speed. And changing it for the sake of silence makes also no sense, because the heatbrake fan is much louder.
People print twice that speed on S1's.
i dont have to save 30 or 60 min time.@@3DRundown
Some people print things that take 3-4 days. You'd be saving hours. But, who really cares? You do you...

That kit sounds like a joke. Why would creality think that was ok to release?
This kit is easy to install and works great.
Creality Customer Service....more like what customer service. I had to reach out to them for some support and it was hell. They were extremely slow to answer and in the end they were not helpful at all. I do not recommend anyone to buy Creality products, better you go with Prusa which will most likely be my next purchase as a 3D printer
Creality has several Customer support channels, and communicate with people everyday. I've never had trouble reachine them. Now, try to get a reply from BAMBU.
@@3DRundown I tried via Facebook messenger and never got a reply from them. Via email I did get replies but man were they slow. I'm not aware of any other channels but if you have any pointers i'll gladly take them.
They have a FB page for Support, and they also have live support on CREALITY.COM. You need to try on THEIR time, so, after 9pm EST is best. Sometimes they aren't knowledgeable enough, but, higher ups review the chat and follow up with emails.
