Immersed no longer works for free and does not allow you to click on anything on your mac in VR. They also have ZERO support so you can't ask any questions.
Thank you, this was a great walk through. I have chronic headaches from my posture at work. Going to try this setup so I can sit and work at my computer in a more natural posture. Hopefully it helps!
Have you tried a kneeling chair? I had issues with my back whilst at my desk/computer and it has saved me. I don't sit down without it. As long as the screens are at eye level this might help. Also looking to get VR for work so I can have multiple screens and work on the go.
Might be another video, or maybe beyond the scope or capabilities, but wondering if there is a passthrough can be created from inside a VR app? Simple example, say, watch a program on TH-cam TV running in a web browser on the VR desktop while playing a VR game?
Pokerstars VR added the capability to create a passthrough. Makes it look like there's a poker table in your living room. At the same time, it's still "sensed" details," so can't really watch TV in this passthrough, but more to my point, you cannot run a web browser inside of Pokerstars (will check out this feature in Real VR Fishing), nor can you simultaneously run two VR apps. I know people will wonder why you'd want to do that, but there's times I wish I specifically had access to a web browser inside of another running VR app.
Thank you for this demo!! really helpful. I have a specific idea you may be able to help with. I want to be able to demo a short regular video on my laptop in a busy environment and would love to allow viewers to see and hear using a great virual headset. They dont need controls or movement, just an immersive environment to see a demo without distraction. i have a Macbook pro and IOS device but am open to the best great quality experience with good sound. How would you achieve this?
I was never able to get this working correctly. I'll try again, but I was wondering if anyone was using this to write code in an IDE. Seems like the text might be a little too small.
Is there any way of controlling QUEST apps from the Mac? (Not the Mac from the Quest.) I want my wife to wear the headset and then for me to control loading various 360 photos from my Mac for her to see on the Quest.
i believe they were charging a fee to have more than one monitor. Is it now free? Can you have more than one passthrough portal running at the same time? the reason i asked is because when i tried using it a couple years ago.. they gave only about a 20 day free trial.. and after that they wanted me to pay a fee to access many of the features .. i believe mulitple monitors was one of them. At the time they didn't offer passthrough portals.. that is a very nice feature. I would like to try that out. BTW, I saw someon had, I believe, used their macbook as a PCVR device to run their quest 2.. and they said they were able to get very good resolution. And that they used workrooms on their macbook.. not sure about the detials.
you can have 3 monitors at the same time but if you use it 5 times per week then for the remainder of the week you can have 5 screens (or is that per month? I forgot)@@manp1039
When wearing the oculus is that the video quality that you get (sharp and high def), or a low definition video quality where details are not distinguishable like you were too close to an old tv?
@@TheFlyingTurtleArchive I've had multiple personal items that came up this year the kept me from posting videos regularly. I have some Chromebook videos planned and should be able to get back on track, with regular videos, in another couple of weeks.
Hi. I would like to view a home made 360 video on the occulus quest 2 and mirror and record the video on my MacBook Pro. Also I will not have access to the internet. Is this possible? Thank you.

I can't speak about trifocals, but mine are bifocals and work just fine. I did 3D print a spacer, that clips around the lens in the Quest 2, to keep the glasses from touching the lens and potentially scratching it.
I can tell you that the Oculus lenses have scratched the lenses on my prescription glasses quite terribly over time. I had to buy a new pair of glasses for everyday use and wear my scratched glasses strictly with the Oculus. I've tried everything in inventory to help stand off my frames/lenses from the Oculus lens, but nothing has worked. Finally I ordered prescription Oculus lenses from VR Wave. I'm farsighted and have progressive lenses. While my VR Wave lenses are not progressive, they have been fantastic! I no longer have to wear prescription glasses with my Oculus and I can see very well in the VR world.
This is awesome. I’m sold. Now I want to do this. Do you have to have a Meta or Facebook account? Or… can we use a built-in web browser to download this to the VR headset?

This is a horrible demo. This is not going to sell the idea. It adds a layer of wholly useless abstraction to the computer UI. Seems like a massive productivity killer.
Not sure what useless abstraction you're talking about, but this feature is extremely useful for a very targeted audience. The demo is simply showing that you can work with multiple monitors with their headset. The multiple monitor setup speaks to a lot of individuals, perhaps not to you. I've never been interested in VR headsets until I heard about the Meta Quest Pro and it's multiple monitor setup with passthrough. Even for $1500 I'd consider buying it.... Then I checked out the Meta Quest 2. $400 new or $250 used, I can easily check it out, maybe get the pro in the future. I feel like you are criticizing a vision that is years away and too fixated on the marketing focus that most VR companies have been pushing. So when you see something different from what's been pushed by VR companies, it doesn't make sense. The problem that a lot of VR companies have is marketing an idea that is years away instead of marketing what you can do with their headsets NOW. Outside of VR gaming or experiences, nobody really cares. When I'm told by VR companies about virtual gaming or experiences, and then see the reviews that VR enthusiasts have to say about the whole gimmick.... I'm not impressed, and I don't even care about a virtual experience to begin with. Seeing people use this as a multiple monitor setup, now I'm actually quite interested. Meta's strategy is different. They're not "shoving VR down people's throat". They looking for ways VR can improve what people already are doing. Multiple monitor setup is one useful VR usecase. There are a whole lot more.
If you're interested in VR specific content, I just started a new VR channel: www.youtube.com/@eevnosvr

Certainly not on the mac, VR support is not even close to what it is in Windows.
Real VR Fishing has this capability in the game.

What’s the quality like if I wanted to code and design?
It depends on the headset.
With the Quest 2 it's decent, but I do get some eye strain.
With the Quest Pro it's crystal clear.
