Have you used Workrooms or are you thinking of using it?
If so, what will you be using it for?

I’ve never used it before and I am thinking of using it to teach my students how to day trade

I haven't used it, but I plan to use it to work with my Windows PC on Design work with AutoCAD and with Office Excel. I'm looking at which is better of this Meta Workrooms, immersed, Steam Link, or Vitual Desktop. Thank you

I plan on using this for an upcoming project in developing a technical paper for the IEEE Electrical Safety Conference in 2025. I’ll be collaborating with people around the country and Canada. Look forward to it.

it would be cool to see a comparison between this, immersed, vspatial, virtual desktop, and the native remote displays

I forced myself to use the Quest Pro every day for around 2-3weeks. I work in a 3D art production team from home. I found it to be usable but it needs more resolution. I used Workrooms, Immersed, and Virtual Desktop. Immersed had the worst quality but better customization. Workrooms had better quality but lacked basic features. Meta should have solid software if this is meant for working. Both programs suffered from bad antialiasing effects around windows and affected general readability. Virtual Desktop was the best in terms of quality. No weird antialiasing. It was smooth and consistent. One massive problem is the lack of virtual multi-monitor support. I use the Quest Pro every day for workouts and gaming. It's a great device for that purpose. It is not however in a good state to use as a daily work device. I feel this applies to most of the available headsets. You can do it but I'd rather work on two small 1080p monitors than deal with the downsides. Micro-OLED high resolution headsets should fix all these problems. If Apple does release a VR headset I expect them to nail the productivity side of things.

@B S did you try charging the resolutions in Immersed on it's desktop agente under options ? They usually start the monitors with a 1920x1090 resolution but you can increase it by a lot. In my case the quest oro is just really heavy and puts a lot of pressure in the fore head. Or maybe I'm using it wrong ... but I haven't found a way to be comfortable in it for more than 1hr

@@BS-we7xp there's also one called vspatial

    • @BS-we7xp
      @BS-we7xp ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@brucejheison Yeah, I changed the resolution. I'm just not a fan of immersed. The head strap as it comes is not comfortable for me. It gives me a headache and feels awkward. For comfort, I remove the front pad and rotate the back pad. I wear a thin winter North Face headband, so my forehead has some cushion upfront. I also wear over-the-ear headphones. Sony XM4. The headphone cups kinda prop up the headband and take a lot of weight off your head. You barley have to tighten the headset. I could wear it for a full day.

I prefer Horizon because the three virtual screens set up seamlessly. In Immersed it’s a whipping trying to get the screens linen up properly.

I really like this video this is what I’ve been looking for except can you do the same thing in Immersed I haven’t seen a video yet of what it would look like using immersed as a viewer and not the teacher I watched your last video but you didn’t go into what it’s like as someone who would be viewing a teaching our meeting like you did with this one

Immersed doesn't have the capability of viewing the collaboration rooms from outside VR.

I just found this channel Since I haven't seen any replies or responses at all for quite some time, I'm guessing the channel has been abandoned. But in case the creator is still viewing, these videos are very good, IMO. It's a shame that you've quite after just a few. Hopefully, you'll reconsider and pick the channel back up.

What for I need these 3-5 virtual monitors if I can't work with soft containing tables, text or financial graphics using my physical mouse or keyboard, I can't insert some text from keyboard because there is a huge lags when you input something from physical keyboard in application launched in one of these virtual monitors. My thoughts that it's all for fun only.
What kind of "work" you will able to do there?

  • @kr1sso

What about font size / crispness? With the low per/eye resolution how does this hold up for tasks that are text heavy need the eye to focus on text (like writing / coding)?

I haven't tried it but I can't imagine that real, non-VR screens aren't better for work. VR screens are defendable for media consumption, because sometimes you just wanna watch a movie on a giant cinema screen or something, and movies usually aren't crystal sharp anyway. But for working, looking at UIs and reading text, DPI is king in my opinion and virtual screens that themselves need to be displayed on your headset's screen can't compete with physical ones in that regard

awesome and mind blowing. one question: i already have a virtual room created in one my VR apps. can i use that to let other ppl come and join? its like i created a classroom environment with virtual objects and i want participants to join me in that and see what i am doing? in your video you are streaming your actual desk

I am speechless, looking at this. See no value add whatsoever in terms of working or collaboration. I only see extra overlay that makes working harder.
I want a screen, I just take off glasses and look at the screen. Looking at a screen through glasses is like using a video camera and looking at your computer screen on TV
I want whiteboard, there are tons of web and physical to web whiteboards out there
I want outside collab, i just start any video meeting service
This is just gimmicks, with no added value.
Meta will discontinue this product in 6 months, cause its plain useless

When I travel, it would be great to be able to have a tripple monitor setup without having to fly with all that. With this I would only have to pack the headset and my laptop.

I hate curved displays so I gave this app 1 star. Just kidding I didn't rate it. Flat screen for a perfect image!
