It's because your walking fast... confusing the headset. Typically people just move them and don't walk around the house. Meta will update all of these quirks making this better.
I find the hand tracking works best when the cameras can see your fingers. Try grabbing and moving virtual objects with your thumb facing towards your face and where all your fingers are visible. Basically, turn your hand over when grabbing objects 😊

Interesting -- didn't get into this topic until WWDC's announcement of AVP. But kinda glad I didn't? If this is Meta's third-gen product (and I know they have Pro level in addition), it seems like it's not ready for primetime -- that passthrough with the wavy outlines of near vs. far objects, and the inability to see screens of other devices is a pretty big downside -- I get it, if you have a virtual screen environment, you can check all your VR screens instead of real ones, but just moving around and the hands create a warp-y pass through seems so odd. Your hands not being able to grasp the virtual screen is similar to the frustrating experience with Siri -- only a handful of times at unsuccessful attempts and you'd give up trying -- that would be the same with this -- it HAS to work, or won't get adopted. If AVP proves it can do what they touted at WWDC (which most of the influencers/media that got to do hands-on demos say it does deliver), then those that complain about price have nothing, NOTHING to complain about if THIS is the competition and doesn't really work. Resolution also seems to be a downside of these devices; it has to be as close to real eyes as possible (and again, understand that that's advanced and expensive technology, but considered early in this product category). I know each generation of anything will get better over time, and if adoption is necessary to get that feedback (although data privacy and sale of that data is a separate and important topic), then you do need unit sales volume, but if it seems like it's more still in-development, I don't think I'd want to waste the $500 for Meta Quest 3, or $1000 for Meta Quest Pro.
