I've had a 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ RS with 70,000kmi on it for 4 years now and no problems whatsoever. So far so good

KMPNY I hate my effing lemon 🍋 Volkswagen Beetle convertible. But I hate the service even more! If you sneeze the electrical goes haywire. I’ve had more recalls and battery changes and ABS issues than years of ownership. 32 k miles. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Tires didn’t last either. My college Chevy lasted longer and it was 2nd hand. These bastards are so lazy they won’t even look up your warranty info without complaining.

Hey Scotty. I went to a junkyard the other day. Was surprised to see a lot of different brands at a Chevy dealer.
I changed two head gaskets last year and it was pretty easy. Took all day, but I'm pretty new to this stuff.

On the 03 Silverado vibration, check the drive shaft carrier bearing and U joints. The rubber on the carrier deteriorates. I have a 2002 and this happened to mine.

low brake fluid could be a sign of thin brake pads. its a good idea to check the pads all around to see if they need replaced before adding too much fluid,

I got lucky with my Mirage in 2013 when the head warped & shot oil out by #1 cylinder. Had it milled, pressure tested and cleaned like new they said & nearly 7 years later no oil burning or leaking, no over heating and drives smooth as silk & it had nearly 180k on it when it was done.
Nice catch on the tacoma brake fluid reservoir + brake light.!

I'm most states, used car sales are "as is" unless the seller provides inaccurate information. Knowledge of a problem is not actionable in most states.

Hey scotty love yoir videos, im from the little island of Mauritius, could you please comment on the tank gas issue of the new toyota rav 4 hybrid, by the way i have a 2009 vw jetta with 170 000km so what do you think of that?
I know that on the GM 5.3 with cylinder deactivation, the deactivated cylinders end up filling with oil, "on demand" sound similar to deactivation. Probably doesn't help with wear.

Brake rotor balancing weights rust and fall off. Perfectly balanced wheels and tires yet still vibrating; went through this on my 91 Volvo 940SE turbo wagon.
I got a 2010 with 245k miles runs super good and strong still love it thinking about getting a 2015

Hey Scotty, I'm being gifted a 1993 buick regal (not sure which engine) with 33K (yes) one 33k miles on it. It's in California and I live in Chicago. Should I drive it all the way back? What should I look out for?
We had a Outlander sport with a 5 speed manual. Great vehicle. Traded it up when it was near 100k and had zero issues. But ya wasn't a crap CVT that's for sure.
Solid car one problem in 153'000 , heater air conditioner fan sled, solid as a rock, had the gt with the 3 later v6.
Hey Scotty, what is the most reliable SUV/Crossover under $30k, doesn't matter if it's used or new, from the last 10 years?
The other way to answer the question about the Canadian card at -15C is that no, wind chill does nothing to make a car colder than if there was no wind, if it has sat out long enough to already get down to -15C. If it wouldn't have gotten that cold yet, wind chill will accelerate the rate at which it cools down to -15C. Wind chill will also increase the amount of time it takes your defroster or defogger to become effective and how long it takes the engine to warm up unless you are driving the same direction as the wind.
Having written that much, if it's not a terrible inconvenience then I would hook the heater up at -15C, but it doesn't get that cold here, does get as cold as -9C and I've never had any plastic cracking issues at that temp, though I don't have vinyl seats and am pretty gentle on a vehicle, letting the defroster get some heat into it before trying to operate it.

Same in Cali, the car lot will do the best they can to give you another car off their lot or replace with another use engine to prevent from getting sued or losing their dealers license. Most lots will replace engine with another use engine instead for fixing head gasket

We have a 2009 CRV with 173,000 miles the we bought new. Runs like a champ, only real issue was the air conditioner.
hey Scotty, I got a Nissan Versa 2015 with 47k miles on it. It runs great no problem as of now. Should I be worried about the transmission or engine problems in the near future as it is crossing 5 years.
Any suggestion for vehicles with the least issues? I bought a 2014 equinox and Im so dissapointed to learn of the expensive issues the regularly have. I've had the car for 1 1/2 years and its already cost me almost 2k. I later learned how easy the cam shafts are to replace but what scares me the most is the pcv valve issues.
Also I would love to see a video for replacing 2014 evap purge valve. No good videos out there for this yet. Any easy way to clean or avoid carbon buildup on that pinhole opening inside the intake.

Hi Scotty I have a 2002 Mustang GT, 98k miles on it. Car runs great a couple minor problems though. My check engine light came on so I plugged in my scan tool and my camshaft position sensor code came up. I changed the camshaft position sensor and the engine light went away for about a week or two and came back on. I was reading the Mustang forums online and a bunch of people saying it might be the alternator going bad. Also Sometimes When I get into my car It Won’t start on the first time, it it doesn’t fire right up on the first time then it always does on the second time. Any idea what it could be thanks!

Scotty I have a question! A '13 Chevy Malibu that I share with my sister claims that when shes on the breaks like at a stop light or just simply spotting at a stop sign the car will accelerate as if shes didnt break. She even said when she came at a full stop at a red light as she was waiting for it to turn green, the car automatically accelerated! And said she it scared her and refused to drive the car ever again. It never happened to me personally but is a problem like that known in my type of car?

I have an A4 1997 model with 1.8T engine Code AEB and it is a very relible and strong engine. The Turbo can go out but its typical wear.
Scotty, I have a 1993 2 door Saab 900 16 valve engine with an automatic transmission with 300k miles. I bought the car new in 1992. Has no rust, and it's burgandy. Not the usual red. Any idea if this engine will last for another 100 k or whatever. I would appreciate your comments, John.

Scotty I have an 07 Mazda three 2.0 sedan, It has 139 000 km (86 300 m). I am servicing the front end suspension. At the moment the engine and transmission still function very smooth, but the body is fairly rusty. What are some tips to increase the life expectancy of my 07 Mazda to prevent it from becoming a money pit?
Scotty, I bought a 2010 Hyundai Sonata from a used car dealer in Addison, TX in June 2017. I just got a letter from a law office asking if I knew it had frame repair. I did not. Dealer provided car fax to show no accidents and there is nothing in the paperwork to indicate damage. I found a small sticker in the door that says the car has been modified and may not be able to carry its original load capacity. Would the lawyer be able to help?
I used to sell cars here in MS. If you signed as a "As is" statement, meaning that you're buying the car exactly as is, with no warranty, then honestly we are not responsible if you're car blows up 100 yards down the road.
Im a very old school vw guy, 95 and older, excellent cars hands down, long range miles, and the diesels were amazing, went so long , it was worth rebuilding and going again...when interiors and engines lasted forever honestly, I've seen them start after sitting in fields for years.
same with old skodas. Janky cars, but man, could they take a beating. Those days are long gone though and current cars with same brands are totally different companies.
My daughters VW Cabrio was junk. The plastic disintegrated within a few years, the trim fell off, Top was shot 3 years. On and on. Yes those old VW's could take a beating and neglect, but that is a different era. Now she has a BMW and it has been a disaster too!

Hey my silver 03 crv just blew a head gasket too a couple months ago😔 at 190k miles. I ended up going with a jdm swap since it was cheaper than a rebuild
I just bought a 1999 Honda CRV, manual trans with 100,000 miles (replaced motor) AWD... I love this car! It’s running rough though? It shifts well no other issues. I think it may just need spark plugs changed? It feels like something is shaking in the engine? Doesn’t have any leaks. It’s kinda loud in the cabin? I’m a female on a low budget. Any ideas what it could be? It starts right up w no hesitation. It doesn’t shake on the highway it just does it mostly when it is idling?
