Y'all really that this man for no reason. Melo was the first player on OKC that told Russ to do his thing and be the man and that they'd figure out how to play around him. And it was working too with Melo as the third option until their lead defensive win Roberson went down. The defensive duo of Roberson and PG was what propelled them to wins and when Roberson went down, they struggled on the defensive end. Melo welcomed taking a back seat there.

Carmelo should have been happy he's got a PG that that was an unselfish player and someone that would have helped elevated his game but he was injured so he had to watch Lin win the hearts of New York and that was what ate away at him. The chemistry between Fields, Chandler, Jefferies, Novak, Shumpert, Stoudamire was unreal. That was the kind of chemistry that would have won a championship. And you also had Carmelo in your team so that's like a team that should have destroyed every other team that year but I don't know what went wrong. Lin elevates everyone around him. When he was with the Lakers, Ed Davis and Lin was so beautiful to watch.

Call me crazy but that team without Melo was a championship caliber team. They had insane chemistry and Lin was the perfect point guard. He was unselfish, a pass first type guard sure but when it was needed, he was the one who made the tough shots so that no one else would. He always made sure that if they were open he would find his teammates and if they weren’t well no worries cause he could make his own shots as well. Lin brought out the confidence inside his teammates and got them all involved, they actually played like a team instead of 4 guys just standing around for 20 second waiting for Melo to inevitably shoot the toughest shot they could possibly get. That team was a SQUAD and with all this new found help you would think that Melo would be happy that he had another star playing with him, someone who could get him open shots now that they were both big offensive threats, actually the entire team was a offensive threat, they could’ve either gone to Melo or let Lin run the floor and find the open shooters (Melo, Landry Fields, Jared Jeffries) with him pulling defenders on to him, or run a pick and roll with Tyson Chandler and Amar’e Stoudemire. But no, with all this help also came fame being dragged away from Melo and less ISO plays for him and that was too much of a sacrifice for him and so now instead of us remembering a championship winning Knicks team, we instead remember Melo ruining possibly his biggest shot at a Championship since he was at Denver

Of course he was a little bit jealous , but a lot of comparisons between the two at the time were disrespectful to the talent that Carmelo Actually had. Lin is playing in China now and while he does have a ring, I think we know he wasn’t the key role.

Lin's clearly a smart kid, he knows who Melo is as a player and what he can do, he will have no problem at all passing him the ball. For the Knicks right now, that vibe they've got going within the team, it's not about one dude, it's about winning as a team. I think that's Lin's biggest gift to the team, if there's one thing he demands, it's that the team plays the right way as a team, he's an ultimate team spirit glue guy.

I never liked the Knicks trade for Carmelo. I've always observed him and I've seen him as a selfish player. Or else the question would have never came up to begin with. Lin plays better without Anthony, plain and simple. Lin is a team player, and nearly everyone on that team enjoys his spirit and they seem to love him. Carmelo seems disturbed by the attention Lin is getting and I think that's what resulted into the losses that followed when Anthony returned. Knicks will keep Lin and build.
