This is an awesome tour. When my wife and I were shopping for a new trailer, I did a lot of research and she had a few specific requirements. Chief among those was that she didn't want a "mushy" floor. I quickly realize that shopping for an RV with solid plywood floors dramatically reduced our options and in most cases, dramatically raised prices. Rockwood was a standout, offering the highest quality construction I could find anywhere in this price range- even better than many more expensive brands. We've had ours since '21 and couldn't be happier with it.
Really well done! We went to that plant 2 years ago, and had Mitch as a tour guide also. He does a fantastic job, and was able to answer almost any question we had. If he couldn't, he got whoever was the expert in that area. Highly recommend anyone thinking of getting a Rockwood/Flagstaff unit to take this tour. You'll be sold! As a side note, we just winterized our 2205S (Mabel). Rewatched your excellent video prior. Made the whole procedure much quicker and more thorough. Thanks for whsy you do.
Mitch does such a great job! You can tell when someone truly enjoys what they do for a living, Mitch is that guy! We met many people that day that work for Rockwood/ Flagstaff and get the general feeling they all have a sense of pride and ownership of the company. Thanks for watching all our videos. Glad we help!
Impressive factory tour for sure. We have a Flagstaff Microlite, so this was very interesting to watch. I've always thought that Flagstaff builds one of the best RV trailers out there in the middle of the road price point and this video reinforces my thoughts. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this very informative video! Loved the tour! We are currently in the market for either a Rockwood or Flagstaff trailer so this made it all the more fun to watch.
Glad the video helped, thanks for watching. We feel Rockwood/ Flagstaff build a great quality RV. We have plenty of videos out of walkthroughs, be sure to check them out. Happy Shopping!
Amazing ‼️😮... So that's how a travel trailer is made...WOW‼️ 😮...Way to go guys...What an inside scoop ‼️Rockwood doesn't mess around when it comes to building their travel trailers 💪🏽.... AND.... They're one heck of a happy bunch 😂😂...I ❤ the playful teamwork 😂😂... LET'S GO ROCKWOOD ‼️🤣🤣🤣... Can't beat that for Loyalty ❤❤...5 ⭐ inspection station 💯...Now I'm curious to see what the other RV companies are bringing to the table...I really enjoyed this video... didn't realize how much I enjoy seeing travel trailers being built...Great content Mrs. Tina and Mr. Tony 💯👏🏾👏🏾
Janice, We so look forward to your comments! Appreciate you watching and the time you take to comment. We enjoyed the factory tour, Mitch really did a great job. You can tell he loves what he does for Rockwood/ Flagstaff. Thanks for watching and safe travels!
When the workers are very happy the trailer will be put together alot better. I have a Rockwood fifth wheel 8280ws diamond package. The year is 2012 ran the wheels off of it. We are going to by another Rockwood fifth .one awesome trailer
That was a great look into how Rockwood and Flagstaff build their trailers. What made it even better for myself was they were actually building a Rockwood 2614bs, the travel trailer I am currently looking at possibly to purchase in the spring of 2024. Would love to see a review of this model in your future videos. Thank you and happy camping!
What drew myself to the Rockwood 2614 BS was the fact that it had an almost complete full camp kitchen right in the middle of the trailer. I did notice in watching other Rockwood Flagstaff videos that that the 2513 s and the 2507s have the sink in their Camp kitchens. I would have preferred the sink instead of the spray port in which the Rockwood 2614 BS has. From comparing the layouts of the three Camp kitchens the 2614 BS has the reverse layout which would possibly make the plumbing more difficult. Hence no sink. Maybe a simple fix or not is to use the layout from the 2513s since the sinks Plumbing can be routed to the bathroom and the spray ports that are next to it😊
Again, I love your product. maybe you can do a video of the QC to show how carefully everything is inspected and Scrutinized to Pass your Expectations. That would really impress Future customers I feel. And again, Flagstaff makes an amazing product.
I will tell them one of our viewers just ordered. Also, we just returned from the factory and released this video th-cam.com/video/g4x6_JBJZbM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bH7Va8bhFKB--oD3 Also, what unit did you order?
That's a nice unit, We like the front kitchen, dinette, separation of space of the bedroom, and that you can enter the bedroom and not go through the mid bathroom. Congratulations!
This clip was filmed right after a job change. The guy before, let’s say enjoys his fry pies. It’s a testament of how strong the roof construction is on Rockwood/ Flagstaff. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Thanks for sharing, we have a 2024 Flagstaff 21FBRS ordered and scheduled for production this week, we're very excited to take delivery once it arrives at the dealer to say the least!
I was wondering, if you order a RV, how do you know it’s in production? Does the dealer have that information? How did this customer know it was scheduled for production?
@@timhemmerly9425 Yes our dealer contacted the manufacturer probably 3 weeks after we placed our order, and they was able to provide the date our camper was scheduled for production, the whole process starting at the time we placed the order was around 10-12 weeks till we took delivery
They really should put some cross members in the floors and roof for better support and stability but a very well made camper rockwoods are that's why we're ordering one. 5 years of research. In many ways they are built better then Brinkley, in some ways not so much. Need better AC units (Colemans are junk) and better refrigerators, not a fan of magic chef myself. That said, can not wait to get our 371RK, We will video tape the entire process and upload it even though I don't upload videos much.
We just returned from Rockwood/ Flagstaff, Tina and I did a quick tour of the 371RK. Congratulations on your purchase and Welcome to the Rockwood Family. We really like the build quality of Rockwood / Flagstaff, they have a great system in place that double checks the quality of production. CAI Building, Customer Assurance Inspections, they pull random units and go through them and check everything again very closely. Not only are these same inspections being done on the production line by a separate team, they are brought in to the CAI building to double check to verify that they are at the quality Rockwood / Flagstaff expects. Stay tuned, lots of videos coming soon,! Thanks for watching & commenting!
I previously wrote this on Forest River's TH-cam video comment section: "I really like Forest River products, but I cannot understand if the floor is glued and screwed every 12", then why is my Flagstaff floor popping and squeaking loudly when I walk over it (in one area)? Did whomever screwed the floor down, miss the floor frame underneath? My trailer is a 2023 Flagstaff Micro Lite, and it has the enclosed underbelly. I've owned 11 trailers, 7 Forest River products (6 new, including 3 Flagstaff 21FBRS's). I've spent quite a bit of money with Forest River. It's just disappointing when you find, in my opinion, a larger oversight". I just want them to do better, especially for returning customers.
If your near Indiana, attend this years Forest River Owners group meetup. It’s a great event and you can put in a service request. Date of International FROG meeting is August 11th thru 17th 2024.
As fast as those guys were gluing and screwing I'll bet about half of what they were doing got to where it belonged better to slow down and hit your marks. Just because its "Fast" doesn't mean it's quality.
The team works efficiently and effectively. They have a strong focus on quality control and regularly check the units as they come off the line and during production. they even pull units off the line and perform a 300-point PDI, any issues are addressed immediately and corrected on the spot. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@TNTRVing I toured a 2442bs at the rv show in Cle last spring and when I walked thru the hallway to the bedroom upstairs the floor squeaked like crazy...now I know why.
Just got my new rockwood. Would Forest River like to know everything that was done half assed? Lets start with the gutters...they leak from one end to other... every screw hole drips and you guys didnt even bother to caulk at where you pieced the gutters together. ON BOTH SIDES! The TV has an inch and a half gap on one side and on the other the tv hits the cabinet. I have to remount the TV which is infuritating. The theatre seat was not centered...in fact its so far off its laughable. The side table has a knob that is almost poking through the side of the seat and on the other side there is 4 inches to spare. The caulking on the front is not complete. This makes sense based on seeing how half assed and quickly they are assembling things here in this video. The quality these are built with is shameful. Here is some advice...fast doesnt equal better especially when you are charging over 40 grand for these. Your quality control is demonstrably non-existant. Battery was sitting in an inch of water..maybe drain holes..or better yet a battery cover that can be used with a battery that doesnt let water in and fill it up? This video is proof of the issues I have already seen after 1 week. This poor workmanship should be addressed. You are charging steak house prices for a mcdonalds hamburger level product. Please explain how leaking and non-sealed gutters made it through your quality process...again on both sides of the trailer.
Sorry to hear, I would send Rockwood customer service an email with photos to address your concerns. Here is there email address rockwoodcustomerservice@forestriverinc.com There should be a bead of non sag dicor on the top edge the whole length where the gutter meets the roof, the butt joints of the gutter should have sealant as well. Careful remounting anything, double check with a magnet to make sure the metal backing plate is there. Also no screws longer than an inch. If you are near Indiana, you may want to attend the FROG rally next year it’s early August, there is lots to do there. Seminars, vendors and touring the area. The factory service department will be there and they will fix warranty items. There is also a big dining hall where they serve breakfast and dinner. There is a cost of $600 or so but we feel it’s worth it, the factory service guys were really helpful. Best of luck!
In my opinion, I believe it's important to make the distinctions, and point out the differences between Amish folks and Mennonite or other Anabaptist movements; especially when it comes to using power tools and other modern conveniences such as telephones.
It's clear these guys are trying to knock out as many units as they can in as short as time as possible. Quality takes a back seat to productivity. I wish the RV manufacturers would change how they throw these things together. You can't convince me that these guys are not making more mistakes after they've been doing this for six + hours. My guess is they have a daily quota and when they meet it, they go home. No difference in pay if it takes them six hours or eight. Thank you for posting this.
You are correct. Yes, they are trying to knock out as many units they can in a day. It’s called a production line. It’s not General Motors, where guys are sitting around and reading the newspaper. One think we noticed is if a station is moving a little slower, the guys/ gals next to them will help. The other thing is they all strive for a quality build. They have a points system and are constantly battling to have the lowest points in production. Rockwood/ Flagstaff have been around for 50 years. Sure they have made mistakes in the past, but they learn from them and keep moving forward. Try touring another manufacturer, I bet nobody is working and everything is nice and clean.. Appreciate you watching & commenting!
The 2515S. Saw it at Hershey. We love having a dinette, sofa/theater seats, and bed w/o needing to convert. And the shower on that model is nice and wide; no more banging elbows !@@TNTRVing
Yes, I remember your comment now on our 2515 video. Sorry, we didn't bump into you at Hershey to talk Rockwood. We spent lots of time in the Rockwood area. Appreciate you watching and commenting! Safe travels and Happy Camping!
One, having come from Indiana the Amish guys are hard working and not your "transient" type of workforce. You can kind of see that and MOST of those guys I see on this line are Amish/Mennonite. That "pressure test" thing I hadn't seen before. I am really really liking the use of the torsion bar suspension.
They have a great team of men & women working on the line. We absolutely love the camaraderie and pride that goes into the manufacturing of all Rockwood/ Flagstaff RV’s! The Dexter torsion axles are pretty awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting.
missed the part where they actually looked for leaks during the pressure test. The spraying guy in no way had time to check stuff. As soon as he was done spraying he instantly unhooked the fan.
My thought is that the air pressure is so high it instantly will bubble. Mitch also stated if a screw was slightly off and leaked air they would catch it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@TNTRVing But the guy never looked to see if there were any bubbles! It appeared to me that he was just checking the block not actually doing the check.
@@stevejonhson4947 It would be nice to see one pressure tested that failed. I would hope that it was so obvious that they would catch it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
We feel that although they move quickly they are kept in check by QC. Any issues are addressed immediately. Sorry our video didn’t clearly show what we saw on our tour. Thanks for watching..
I just rewatched that part of the video. You are correct, they are a little short on the rear section. You can see that the guy pulled it a little to the rear when they laid the aluminum frame on top of it. Not exactly sure why it’s that way. I will ask on our next visit, I’m wondering if the front was the same way or if there was extra? Appreciate you watching & commenting. Don’t forget to check out our laminating plant tour.
They changed the roof membrane for 2024 it’s a 45 mil Alpha ply TPO. Only 2024 units have the lifetime warranty. The speed they move to assemble the floor looks fast to people who work slow. Imagine how much more expensive they would be if they took their time and poked around. There is plenty of adhesive on the aluminum structure and wood to accomplish the secondary bond, even when they drag the plywood a foot or so. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The ladies and gentlemen at Rockwood/ Flagstaff do a great job. I would think laminate flooring like they use on boats would add a premium not all customers would want. Appreciate you watching & commenting.
We have owned a Wildwood and a Cherokee in the past and were underwhelmed by their construction and QC. We switched from Forest River to Grand Design (2017 Imagine 2500RL), and couldn’t be happier.
Forest River own many brands, they are not all built the same. Here is our latest video on how the sidewalls and roofs are made in the Rockwood/ Flagstaff family. th-cam.com/video/g4x6_JBJZbM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=moWupWlk_mAL_4Ym Appreciate you watching and commenting, Happy Camping!
Great Question! I just had to reach out to my contact to verify. They said the Mini Lites take about a Day to build. The larger Ultra-Lites and Larger RV’s take around two to three days to build. Appreciate you watching & commenting!
Why are they working so fast? Are the RV's selling so much that they have to crank them out quickly? With the interest rates as they are today, I think they could slow down and concentrate on increasing quality.
Rockwood moves at the same pace regardless, if there is a station that is running a little slower the fine folks next to them will chip in and help. They are truly a team! Rockwood Flagstaff’s production is still going strong where other manufacturers are slowing down. Be sure to check out some of our other plant tour videos. Appreciate you watching!
Nice to see but way, thats why so many issues. I have a 2022 mini lite i really like but after every trip a screw falls out, other screws not put in properly. Slide out improperly alligned, you could do so much better
Issues happen occasionally, not sure what screws are coming loose. I have had a couple fender skirt screws get loose, issue is our bumpy roads. Slide issues can develop if people sit in them when they are closed or set jack stands under them when setup for camping. I have seen both on our travels. Our mini lites are built way better then the compilation in our opinion. Thanks for the comment, Safe Travels!
@@TNTRVing Hi, yeah was on a trip to Alaska this spring. The two nuts holding the slide rails to the tip out were gone, i was lucky i did not loose my tip out. Two screws holding oven in olace gone two s rews holdung microwave in place gone and several screws on drawers gone. Had to thighten some screws holding side panels in place along lower side of rv. Im extremelly particular on preventive maintenance so someone that is not would have missed many issues. Lots of exposed unprotected wiring on outside i had to had protection from flying rocks. Having said that im somewhat satisfied with my tt. Cheers
They move to fast , that’s why everything falls apart. They need to slow down and do it right. Having your fridge and microwave, stove fall out of the walls is just ridiculous. It’s incompetent workers that aren’t taking their time and doing it right. And screws falling out everywhere, they need to slow down and put them in properly in the right places. The way they move half the screws and staples aren’t even in right.
My 2019 minilite 2401s must have been built on a off day or at a totally different factory many bad joint bubbling in outside panels, water tank moves from side to side, dometic fridge that never worked right many more problems that Rockwood’s hype and marketing was great but their service was absent from the scene during the warranty and after😢😢😢
My thought is most Rv’s built have a certain amount of flex in the roof from weather/ expansion & contraction or from stresses while underway. The membrane allows for those movements without compromising the integrity of the seals. I do know that Rockwood is working on one piece fiberglass roof on the Mini Lite. Here is a look at one on a Prototype 2024 2515s. th-cam.com/video/08UO2nabh6s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GF-KA_r9Vy4_gpRn Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks very much for your reply. My wife and I are looking for a good couple’s unit, plus a small dog, to travel around for about a year and visit the grand kids a couple times a year. Want to be able to get into, at least 50%, of the state parks which looks to be problematic for RV’s longer than 26 to 30 feet. Want something with good storage and the least amount of, shall we say mechanical, difficulties. One of the problems I have personally seen and what is talked about quite frequently on TH-cam is leakage. So, the idea of a single type of construction method would seem to minimize that issue from occurring. Now I am not talking about molded construction such as an Oliver. But using the same fiberglass, aluminum, and foam composite construction as used in the side panels, for the roof makes a lot more sense. This would keep the thermal coefficients alike throughout the coach. Expansion and contraction would be consistent. When will these new fiberglass roof models be available? Thanks Jimmy @@TNTRVing
@@jamesstever8335 Agree, with the size of some of these units you have to consider the type of camping you intend to do. I'm not sure when they plan to release the new roof system. I was surprised to see it already on the 2024 prototype. Hopefully, it will be out in 2025. We will have to wait and see.
The workers go way too fast in everything they install. There is no way they are catching all of their mistakes. The tour guide talks about quality materials as the workers throw everything together like they are in a race!
The workers are performing the same task repeatedly, they are good at what they do. As Mitch stated, not, only are the inspectors looking at the units while being produced they will pull several units for thorough inspection. If the inspectors see anything they do not like, it is addressed right now. I would put Rockwood/ Flagstaff quality build against any other company and win every time. Thanks for watching and commenting! Safe travels!
Hey Steve - that's a baloney response from folks who posted this video - I'm on minilite site on FB group and post all over about their notorius water leaks. Course never see these folks show up at those posts but I made furniture for years and did roofing & we sure as heck didn't run around like that
@harryatvick if you had to build or re-roof the equivalent production in a day these guys did, you would be moving as well. As for roof leaks, the only I recall that I have seen was from maxair vent fan. Under the clips that hold the cover on a little rubber plug didn’t seal the water out. We ended up fixing ours with dicor. When the factory found out there was an issue they fixed it. I try to chime in on FB if I can help. There are many helpful people on these groups. Our own personal belief is Rockwood builds a solid unit with premium components.
I know I was thinking the same thing. After watching a tour of Outdoor RV, it’s just the opposite. No running around going as fast as the can. People taking their time trying to do it right the first time. Every unit gets tested multiple times down the line. Then every single unit got to quialty control before being shipped to the dealer.
Rockwood has been around since 1974, They are celebrating 50 years this year. We feel they build a quality RV for the price point with outstanding customer service. Best of luck to you and your Sol!
Surprise, we ran blindly through trailer building and noticed missing caulking at finish. Pressure tested with people cleaning inside? What one minute? 😂
Mitch does a great job and is very knowledgeable about Rockwood Flagstaff! You can tell he loves what he does. He told me during the tour that he liked it so much he would do it for free! He also told me not to tell anyone, so please don't. Thanks for watching, Happy Camping!
Rockwood/ Flagstaff really does a great job. We were sold on the construction process, they are constantly making improvements along the way. From our 2021 to 2025 it’s amazing what they have done. Check out some of our other tour videos. Sorry you are having issues with your Jayco, appreciate you watching & commenting.
Imagine if they were slow and only built half of the current days production. Everyone would complain how long it takes to get a trailer and how expensive they are. With that said, they do make some mistakes. The neat thing is there are inspectors on the line going through the RV as it’s being built to verify it meets there standards. Furthermore, RV’s get randomly picked and inspected in another building at a much slower rate to verify it meets there standards. Here is our most recent video on that. Hope this helps. Also, check out our other video on how Rockwood/ Flagstaff build sidewalls and roofs. Appreciate you watching and commenting! th-cam.com/video/i9JUt5Xd2UA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oi2dZt3kG2FUn55m
Agree, I don't like how they secure to the top rail. I had to help a couple put them back on track and lock them in. There is not much room to fit tools & fingers into the area. Appreciate you watching and commenting!
You might want to watch more of our videos to see how Rockwood/ Flagstaff has evolved in our short time of ownership. The 5/8" Plywood Tongue & Groove Subfloor has a proven track record and works. appreciate you watching and commenting!
The guys are doing the same task daily, they are good at what they do. The other thing is the work they do gets inspected throughout the process. Thanks for watching and commenting!
They keep getting better. HOWEVER, That damn RUBBER roof.... They need to put a sheet of aluminum up there if they really cared about having top quality. That rubber roof will at some point leak. Aluminum will not! Any mfg that says they build a quality product then slap a rubber roof on it is a big fat liar! I have owned five 5th wheel and ALL of them (even the new ones) LEAK at some point!
Danny, I found out on this trip, Rockwood/ Flagstaff are starting to use 1 piece fiberglass roofs on all smaller mini lite RV”a they build. Stay tuned as we have another video showing what it looks like.
The PVC roof membrane now carries a lifetime warranty. The issue with most RV roofs is not the membrane itself, but the flexible seals used on the roof. These are actually maintenance/inspection items and not all owners inspect them. This is typically where leaks occur. Unless the membrane is punctured I haven't heard of anyone having issues with the PVC item itself. Plus it allows for flexibility of the trailer as we navigate the roads that we have. You'd have to make the trailer significantly heavier if you didn't want to experience movement and then it wouldn't be a "Lite."
The workers are performing the same task routinely, They are good at what they do. It just looks like they are moving fast. Also, Inspectors are throughout the plant to double-check the quality of production. Corrections are made on the spot If needed. I plan to do a follow-up video on the inspections. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just bought a 2024 minilite...I see all of the mistakes in my first mini lite here. This is as half assed unprofessional as it gets. This explains why my marker lights were put on without proper gaskets and caused my previous camper to delam. Quality here is almost non-existent. That these are the higher quality trailers is really sad. I may pull my downpayment after seeing this shit show.
We had a delam in our first MiniLite as well caused by a leak at the marker light. But I also didn't do as was in the manual and ever go up and inspect that seal. Those seals are all routine inspection points. I know now. We have a 2023 MiniLite 2205s (same as Tony and Tina!) and the build quality has been outstanding over 12,500 miles we've put on it just since December 2022. There have been no failures of any consequence (a few screws came loose) and all the systems and build have remained as they left the factory. There are few manufacturers who do things like pressure testing their finished RVs for leaks. We also run a Facebook Group with over 11,000 Rockwood/Flagstaff owners and people typically have very good experiences with these trailers. No product made by humans is perfect naturally. But I also appreciate that, when a decision is made, it's typically to favor the better component. Things like MaxXair Fans, ShowerMiser valves, 22" ovens, torsion axle suspensions, Goodyear Endurance tires, on and on. So to state that quality is nonexistent means you either haven't looked at many examples of RV build quality or might not be the right person to own any RV at all.
Sorry to hear of your past situation with delamination. From our view during our visit, (sorry I didn't capture it on film) the quality of the build was very good. They have multiple inspectors at various stages for quality control. If anything is found that is not up to par, it is corrected immediately on the line. All units are pressurized for leaks prior to going out the door. Units are randomly selected to perform a 300-point PDI, they also will take a unit apart for an even closer look at the build quality. When a unit is ordered from a dealer with a customers name attached to it, They perform an extensive PDI prior to shipping it. When we purchased ours I talked to the mechanic who was doing the PDI, he said he loved Rockwood as there were hardly any issues, not like other manufacturers. Hope this helps in your decision making. Thanks for watching!
@@TNTRVingYou remind me - I used to handle warranties at a dealership in Northern California. While much of our inventory was built on the West Coast (mostly in Washington) we also carried Flagstaff (which is identical to and built in the same plant as Rockwood). These had to be hauled across the country, including in winter, to our dealership so they had already made a long journey to get there. Despite this the Flagstaff were not something I typically had any warranty issues with. Our service team did an outstanding job of inspecting units prior to the customer taking delivery and yet it was rare to have to have anything done with a Flagstaff unit despite that long journey they had already made. This is just one of the reasons I own one myself so I think the quality is there.
@@TNTRVing Thanks..that makes me feel a little better because I wasnt there and you were but only slightly. As a builder I can easily spot things these guys were doing incorrectly because they were rushing. The build issues in my previous camper were definitely from this hasty style work exactly as seen in the video. Another example was my water hose was kinked. My fresh water tank has never been used as a result. No way they didnt see that when they put it in same as my marker light. Its in a spot that cant easily be reached. I discovered it by using my cell phone and recording as I stuck my arm in as far as I could reach. They kinked the hose in order to turn a tight corner to get it on the pump so they knew they did it but figured screw the customer. Furnace didnt work either. Also, the screws throughout the camper were screwed into nothing. Nearly every trip we would find screws on the floor and then we would try and figure out where they fell out of. Drawers fell apart and sink fell out because they used two dabs of glue in just two corners. Have pictures of it all. Also every inch that is not living quarters was full of saw dust and contruction debris where they didnt even bother to pick up or vacuum the area when done. In your video as one example of many, he hastily spreads adhesive caulking on the frame for the floor then they proceed to throw the plywood down and drag it across the frame which scrapes it off thus defeating the purpose. It should have been placed directly on top not thrown down and slid across, so yes Rockwoods can boast their build materials but they completely fail in the execution. For the money they are now charging they need to correct the shotty execution of the build quality they are boasting. That being said, the other manufacturers use the same hasty craftsmanship only they use even worse build materials and contruction types. So we the buyers have to choose between crappy build or even crappier build. Seeing this video only confirmed what I thought based on seeing what they did it my first camper. Mine wasnt a lemon it was simply their standard approved build.
This entire video is BS! I was a rv transporter and they NEVER move this slow and are NEVER this accurate. Thye literally run everywhere and randomly nail with the airgun. Don't fall for this BS
Respectfully, your entire comment is BS. We have had several visits to this plant and other Rockwood facilities. One of our recent visits, we were up in the mezzanine watching several stations working with employees not seeing us. They move quickly and assemble thoroughly. When we were on the floor touring one on one with Mitch they move and assemble the same way. Not sure when you were a transporter, but rest assured this isn’t a staged video. This is real-time daily assembly. Try touring another manufacturer, most allow you to tour when no work is being done and everything is cleaned up. Rockwood/Flagstaff have nothing to hide. We believe they are the best built RV around. Thanks for watching!

Totally agree! Rockwood/ Flagstaff have great build quality. Glad we chose correctly from the begining. Thanks for watching!
I’m looking to purchase a Rockwood so thank you very much for this video, cheers!

We so look forward to your comments!
Totally agree! Appreciate you sharing, thanks for watching & safe travels!
Really appreciate your comment!
We will definitely review a 2614bs if we come across one. Thanks for watching & Safe Travels!
Great idea, we will try to make it happen sometime. Thanks for watching & commenting.

Thanks for sharing, we have a 2024 Flagstaff 21FBRS ordered and scheduled for production this week, we're very excited to take delivery once it arrives at the dealer to say the least!
Congratulations!
Fun times ahead, safe travels & Happy Camping. Thanks for watching..
Fast, good, and cheap. In most industries, fairly easy to achieve any two of those. Really challenging to achieve all three.
Rockwood/ Flagstaff builds them Fast, Good & inexpensive! Okay, maybe not inexpensive. but cost effective.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Tell that to Michael Jordan, fast and accurate.
So, not necessarily doing something 100 times a day doesn’t mean not quality either.
Here is there email address rockwoodcustomerservice@forestriverinc.com
There should be a bead of non sag dicor on the top edge the whole length where the gutter meets the roof, the butt joints of the gutter should have sealant as well.
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate you watching and commenting
i did notice they put glue on it but then drag plywood over it dragging it down
Yes, you are correct. There still is enough remaining glue on the stringers though. Thanks for watching & commenting.

That was so cool. Is this largely how the MiniLites are made as well? We're in the market for a MiniLite.
Yes, they are made the same way. What Mini Lite do you like so far?

I thought the same thing, he didn't check for anything.
For what it's worth I bought a Flagstaff Trailer and it's been great I just didn't think this was the best way to show off the craftsmanship
We feel that although they move quickly they are kept in check by QC.
Any issues are addressed immediately.
Sorry our video didn’t clearly show what we saw on our tour. Thanks for watching..
Yea, they look to be racing through the work.
I noticed the insulation was not all the way to the back of the floor they missed about 6 inches on the end
Is that the same roof for a 2022 2608BS? A lifetime warranty?
They changed the roof membrane for 2024 it’s a 45 mil Alpha ply TPO. Only 2024 units have the lifetime warranty. The speed they move to assemble the floor looks fast to people who work slow. Imagine how much more expensive they would be if they took their time and poked around. There is plenty of adhesive on the aluminum structure and wood to accomplish the secondary bond, even when they drag the plywood a foot or so. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@TNTRVing Thanks for the reply.
Speed brings mistakes. What about a composite floor? Coosa board works in boats so RVs would not be a problem.
The ladies and gentlemen at Rockwood/ Flagstaff do a great job. I would think laminate flooring like they use on boats would add a premium not all customers would want.

How long does it take from start to finish to build a RV?

Im extremelly particular on preventive maintenance so someone that is not would have missed many issues. Lots of exposed unprotected wiring on outside i had to had protection from flying rocks.

Why do RV makers use a membrane style roof in lieu of a fiberglass CNC cut for penetrations?
My thought is most Rv’s built have a certain amount of flex in the roof from weather/ expansion & contraction or from stresses while underway. The membrane allows for those movements without compromising the integrity of the seals. I do know that Rockwood is working on one piece fiberglass roof on the Mini Lite. Here is a look at one on a Prototype 2024 2515s. th-cam.com/video/08UO2nabh6s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GF-KA_r9Vy4_gpRn

Thanks
Jimmy

First, I’m glad I purchased a Sol by In-tech and not from on the floor and out the door like this. OMG this looks like China.
Rockwood has been around since 1974, They are celebrating 50 years this year. We feel they build a quality RV for the price point with outstanding customer service. Best of luck to you and your Sol!

CONCERNS FROM THE START FAST PACE GET THEM OUT ITS GOING TO LEAD TO MISTAKES BECAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT GETTINGTHEM OUT
Fast paced YES! Mistakes, minimal..
Best build quality and components, you guessed it, YES!
I can only imagine the human errors made on a daily basis with these guys running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Those barn doors are not ideal. And why two? Pocket doors with more usable wall space.
Agree, I don't like how they secure to the top rail. I had to help a couple put them back on track and lock them in. There is not much room to fit tools & fingers into the area. Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Being a production manager, I’m not impressed. We do sell 300k dollar trucks not 60k rigs but there’s plenty of concerning things in this one video 😂.

Why are the workers rushing so much?
They enjoy what they do so much, they do not want to waste time standing around.
I’m not too happy with the way They’re rushing around. That’s how you make mistakes
They are moving way too fast. Need to take more time would make less mistakes and align things better
@@TNTRVing Do they use plywood or OSB for the roof decking?
Water test was worthless. They make lots of profit.
Water test Helps, They make some profit! Thanks for watching :-)
@@TNTRVing Rockwood only has one good line and that's the Mini Lite, the rest are garbage. I can't remember how many i picked up that we're built so bad doors wouldn't stay closed. Ofcourse you would say they are great, you are a salesman that sells that brand.
@@Winnipeg_Jets_Fan We are not salesmen. We are owners of a Mini Lite and brand ambassadors who like to share about a quality brand we believe in.
