Hello, we have a 2015 rockwood 2109s that we love and took a 2 month trip from Missouri to Alaska this past summer. Rockwood are so solidly built. Since ours didn't have a tp holder I mounted one on the inside of the door under the sink. It's actually a perfect place out of the way. I put a couple extra rolls of tp, a square box of tissues and our first aid kit under the sink. I like like the floor plan of the 2205 enough for it to be our next camper. I would like a bigger shower than in the 2109s, lol. Thank you for the honest owner review. Happy camping 😊!
Hi @micheleulrich-hb2ok Thanks for your comment. We've been looking at the toilet paper holder that uses Command strips to install it in the bathroom - just like where you've got yours. That extra little space in the bathroom under the sink is one of the bonuses of our upgrades in camper. The shower is small (and the same in both of the Rockwood's we've had), no doubt! But I'll take the small shower for the kinds of camping sites we're able to get by being under 25 feet. Safe travels!
We have a 2020 2019s and put the toilet paper holder on that door also. Actually added 2 so there’s always a spare. I took the panel off and put a tension rod with a curtain to have room for the toilet paper rolls when door is shut. We probably could put some other things down there but don’t need the space.
hello , thanks for the tour. over the years we went through tents , pop ups. and several travel trailers, finally we bought a 2021 2608bs rockwood camper wtih 2 slides. we love it and we start camping again next month with out 4 boston terriers. the extra room worked out well for them. happy trails my friends and God bless. from susan and chuck b. in south Louisiana
Hi @twoblah1 - I've come back to your comment several times to re-read that it says 4 Boston Terriers! We love our 1 Boston Terrier and she's perfectly travel size for our little trailer. I can see with your multiple Bostons why you went for the second slide! Happy camping!
We just downsized from a 34ft class A and We just got the 2024 2109s and love it for the short size and I really like the 2205 like yours but wanted the smaller size . I really liked the electric fireplace and recliners but for our needs the 2109s fit us perfectly for weekend and week long trips . Enjoy your travels .
Hi @Mavric65, We really liked our 2109s and it did well for our 3 week trip to Pigeon Forge and Nashville. Our upgrade is because of heading for longer trips and it just gives us that extra storage and comforts that we'll enjoy. Happy travels to you also.
We have a '23 version of this model. Considered several other models, but just kept coming back to this one. Our interior is slightly different from yours. Couldn't be happier with our decision. We've had a couple of small issues that needed fixing, but nothing major. We pull ours with exactly the same truck and hitch system as yours, and it pulls great. One thing I wish ours had is the slam latch baggage doors. I am currently replacing the ones that came with, and installing a difital front door lock. If you ever get the chance, take the Rockwood/Flagstaff factory tour in Millersburg, Indiana. Its impressive and helpful in understanding your trailer.
Hi @poeslanding, It's always good to know what you're using your trailer for. We like our hook-ups and won't go long without power, ever. Happy camping both on and off the grid to you!
Loved your review! Am considering a FR 24' as well. Always enj seeing spaces and open draw/cabinets. Really enj'd seeing the "drop frame" area at the frt of storage. Ya' did good work; keep it up! Y'all Be Safe!
Thank you for the encouragement. We love our Rockwood and look forward to many adventures with it over the next number of years. If you have questions about anything related to it, please ask!
I have the exact same trailer the doors above the recliners mine have hinges that let the doors stay open . also you did not mention there is an internal louver in the entrance door. you did great explaining it was like you were in my trailer :)
@user-hp8yf5tl1l - I'm glad it seemed familiar! We love our trailer and have learned a lot about it since the video was created. I can leave the cabinet doors over the recliners partially open; they don't slam down in my face!
We have the 2021 version of this. Not much change. A very nice couples camper. I think it was a best seller. We have had very little trouble and probably done l5 trips. from 50 miles trips to 3 2000 mile ttrips.
Hi @robertleach3905 We've just made our summer camping reservations for the Canadian Rockies. We're pretty confident about our towing set-up but we'll be sure to do an honest review after our long haul from Ontario (near Detroit, MI) to British Columbia and from living it in for 2 months. Safe travels!
Hi @ilovetotri23 I hope that you're enjoying your new trailer. We like the second fan because it really moves the air around. We often don't have to have the A/C running because it does so well!
Not sure if it’s available to you as Canadian residents but Visable Wireless offers a very inexpensive service @ $25 per month, no contract and unlimited data. We use it to stream Netflix and Amazon then mirror to our tv. We currently have a 2021 model of the 2205s so we have to use a lighting cord adapter to HDMI for it to work but on our previous Class C we had a smart tv so mirroring was very simple. Hope you’re enjoying your new trailer.
Hi @daveburley7115! You're right, as Canadian residents we continue to find challenges for accessing an inexpensive wireless service. We appreciate the recommendation.
Would be nice to know if tongue weight is ok with our F350 pickup ….we carrry clothes, food, the usual. Pass thru stocked with chairs, rolled up carpet & things. 2 solar panels on roof. 2 reg batteries. 2205s Rockwood mini, 23’ 10”
Great video. Nice comparisons too. I’m curious what the inside ceiling height is? That sofa looks so comfortable and I love your foot stools. Did you buy them? Can you share a link if you did? How does that toilet work out? Looks a bit tight but I’m a big guy. Did you also look at the freedom express 192rbs? Awesome video.
Hi @bigonebikes, Thanks for checking out our video. I don't think we've measured the inside height because we're not super tall people so it didn't impact us. It certainly feels roomy enough and it does have that slightly vaulted ceiling where the centre is a couple inches higher than the sides. The new sofa is truly comfortable and one of the reasons for the upgrade. Those footstools were purchased at Canadian Tire so I can't really link those for you, but they do collapse and we've used one as our dirty laundry "hamper" and the other to store our dog food. Trailer life allows us to be creative in our storage solutions. We bought them to pair with the jackknife sofa in the 2109s and still haven't decided if they stay in this new one. You're right, the toilet area is tight. No way to sugarcoat it. Everything is functional but not comfy. The toilet is slightly angled and we leave the shower doors open so our elbows are unbruised. It's one of those things where you're gonna have to sit in one to know. We did not look at the Freedom Express, as we were sold on the quality builds by Rockwood and the two we've purchased met and exceeded our expectations. Happy travels and good luck with your trailer search.
Awesome video! We’re about to order the exact same trailer- including a 2nd solar panel and 2nd max air fan. How do the thermopane windows work? Are they the same awning style window as standard, or are they different? That’s the one option we haven’t decided on yet. Thanks!!!
Hi @trichk! The thermopane windows are still the awning style windows so they can be open during light rain. The two windows on the side of the slide are standard lift-up windows (not awning style). Good luck with your order. We're really happy with our decision.
According to Josh the RV Nerd, the thermopane windows only increase the R value a tiny bit. The greatest benefit is actually their sound-reducing aspect. They really do keep the unit quiet from outside noise. They also hinge at the top and flip out at the bottom, so they can remain open during a rainstorm to provide some airflow. They dont open very far, however. The main reason these aren't in the slide, is because if you happened to leave them open before closing the slide, things would get ugly fast. "Standard" windows don't stick out while opened They ain't cheap, so consider what your needs are.
Hi @erinhiner9114. Thanks for your question as garbage is always the issue in small trailers. We bought a small plastic garbage, possibly Rubbermaid, can with a lid and foot pedal that we place right at the end of the counter in front of the fireplace. With the furnace off, we have no problem with it there. It holds a small garbage bag which means we're tossing out every day to two days. If the furnace or fireplace is on, we have to move it up closer to the bed during the day and place it away from the furnace vent during the night.
Hi @scsurface1 Our F150 has the Coyote 5.0 Engine. It can tow up to 9400 pounds and has a payload of 1775 pounds. We did add LT tires and use a Blue Ox sway pro. My husband just ordered the 1000 pound spring bars to replace the 750 pound Blue Ox spring bars we had for our 2109s. Hope this answers your questions.
Hi @garywalter3007. Company: Discover (Innovative Battery Solutions) Brand: LITHIUM BLUE LiFePO4 Battery Model: DLB-G24-12V Ah: 100 amps Style: Drop-in place of lead acid; plug and play; suitcase style carrying handles We initially purchased two of these 100Ah lithium batteries for our 2022 2109s and then flipped them into our 2024 2205s when we purchased it. They were truly plug and play and fully compatible with the Go Power controller. The 2022 controller did not have Lithium as an option on the interface so you had to chose AGM but the 2024 controller has the option on the interface for Lithium. I'm confident any quality lithium battery from a reputable manufacturer (Dragonfly, Battleborn, Renogy etc.) will be perfectly compatible. Final thought...We did not add lithium for the purpose of boondocking. We added them for their ease of use (no checking on them, no top up with distilled water etc.) They have their own battery management system, internal heater, Bluetooth connect and app for our phone so we can check on them when we like. Oh, and they are really light. Maybe 35lbs each. My back and shoulders are much happier come the end of the season when I store them in my garage.

My husband just ordered the 1000 pound spring bars to replace the 750 pound Blue Ox spring bars we had for our 2109s. That was our first trip and it towed beautifully (even with some serious winds). Our tongue weight is heavier than our last trailer which is why we're upgrading the spring bars. We expect that with our set-up and the new spring bars that it will tow like a dream just like our 2109s did.
@ilovetotri23 We use 4 rubber chocks, 2 on each side. We use the X-Chocks, not for chocking purposes, but they seem to help with stabilization when we're set up for camp.

Thanks @AnnaO-iz2zo,
We're excited about what we can do with this new rig.
Rockwood's quality is very good, like this open floor plan too.

Exactly the trailer I’m going to get with the power package.

What brand of lithium batteries do you have and are they compatible to the go power controller.
Hi @garywalter3007.
Company: Discover (Innovative Battery Solutions)
Brand: LITHIUM BLUE LiFePO4 Battery
Model: DLB-G24-12V
Ah: 100 amps
Style: Drop-in place of lead acid; plug and play; suitcase style carrying handles
