- I'm not much of a sim racer, but over the past year I've really been getting into the F1. So the Logitech G TRUEFORCE racing wheel gave me a great insight into being on the track. ALSO I discovered after the most recent race that DRS = Drag Reduction System. Yet more to learn but I'm getting there! Also on a sidenote I’ve been an F1 fan since 2010 and a Ricciardo fan ever since I swapped over from Ferrari in 2014. I have quite a few drivers I admire aside from him though obviously, the Ferrari heart still remains with Charles & Carlos (impossible not to love honestly), Lando, Vettel, Gasly, Ocon, Alonso to be genuinely honest I don’t really hate any of the drivers. Can’t wait to see Oscar Piastri in F1 though.
Favourite track has to be Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) though, there’s no track that has better feel and flow with undulations and road feel even outside the F1 calendar (Nords & Bathurst are awesome but I think Spa still edges them)
To learn the track you have to turn off that green/red line. It makes watching the real races more fun because you will recognize the corners and know where there are overtaking opportunities :)
Baloney.
DRS is the Drag Reduction System. If you are within 1 second of the car in front going past a certain checkpoint, you'll hear a small beep when you cross the DRS activation zone. This means you can push a button on your wheel, which opens a flap on the rear wing of the car, reducing drag down the straight, increasing your top speed. You can actually hear the beep in this video at 9:03. So yes, it kind of is like Fast and the Furious.
I looked it up after hearing it a bunch during Bahrain. Very cool.

Heysteph to get a boost like in Mario all you need to do is set up your dual clutch not to be mistaken with double dutch you probably used to play too. :D It will give you a starting advantage, not quite like in Mario but it does help. Look up some videos on setting it up on the G923 which supports it and usually is included in high end Wheels only. Your like a real life version of Vannellope von Schweetz, loved the video and humor. ;)

You might wanna change the wheel rotation in G hub. F1 2021 uses 360 degrees, default is 900, should have an easier time trying to turn after tweaking it.

It looks like you haven't got your steering 'angle of rotation' setup right. Meaning you are turning the wheel way more than it needs to be, making it very hard to drive. I'd google how to fix that specifically for the F1 game (it changes every game), usually in the Thrustmaster Control setup program. A good way to check if it's set right is to go into first person mode, and see if your wheel matches what is happening on screen. (You should usually only turn your wheel a maximum of 180degrees in an F1 car in the slow tight corners. At the moment it looks like you are driving a bus, not great for fast reactions.)
Another tip, keep your hands at 3 and 9. Don't shimmy them across the wheel, you'll get lost, and won't be able to make fast corrections. (when your wheel rotation is set up right this won't be as hard to do)
And yes, F1 drivers use their left foot to brake. So always rest both feet on the pedals. It's usually a good idea to use a chair that doesn't have roller wheels, so your driving position is always the same.

Tell logitech to get rid of the gear driven system and move onto belts like thrustmaster! TM is so much smoother and way more road textures are felt. Coming from a G29 setup TM is way better in every aspect

Haha, charming. Have you ever tried (heard of) Dirt Rally 1.0 or 2.0? Turn off all assists, take a GROUP B rally car and choose something like, Finland. 😂❤ Make it a RWD, as well.
