Wake up, play some THPS, grab my portable cd player loaded with Limp Bizkit or my cassette player with songs I'd recorded off the radio, grab my World Industries board and go skate. This was my life in the mid to late nineties.
Same for me in the early 2000's. Wake up, play THPS, watch a skate video (usually Sorry or Yeah Right), and hit up the boys to see where we were skating that day.
I can remember watching this as a kid back in 99 and me and my friends were absolutely blown away by Jeremy Wray's water tower gap at 7:11 and because we were kids, we didn't know who Jeremy Wray was or that he was a professional skater from OUR CITY and the water tower gap was done just a few miles from where we lived!
I still own this game. Remembering these nostalgic days. THPS series, Dave Mirra Freestlyle BMX, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX, Thrasher: Skate and Destroy, and Cool Boarders 2, gives me goosebumps everytime I play them!
Man thats awesome. Spent hours playing this game! And the soundtrack was unbelievable. 1 and 2 were the best... then after that... wasnt really the same.
Officer Dick's video was recorded on August 7,1999.. I can't believe that's been 20 years ago... I also honestly can't believe this game came out 20 years ago.. Still it's the greatest game ever!!!!!
These vids from the game meant so much to me because i didn’t own any skateboard vids so this was the only way I could watch Skateboarding! Besides that the Nosegrind Thomas does at 5:41 always blew me away because if you look closer you can see dust shooting out from the grind! Which means that he is powering through it with barely any wax!
Those bails were savage back then 🤣 Its sad they didnt put those videos in the remake or something. Really glad someone put them up so i can relive a bit more nostalgia 👍
Someone remember that was a TV in some skatepark showing videos and in one of that videos appears Jamie Thomas sliding in a steel just with one leg in the skateboard
@@Dee-nonamnamrson8718 I don't think it wold have gone the way of rollerblading, but it wouldn't have been shoved in the mainstream medias face like it was for most of the 2000's. It probably would have a slight increase in popularity followed by a slight decline like it has historically. I think for a lot of skaters on the individual level the media craze did some good because it brought in more revenue from corporate sponsors like energy drink companies but it had a negative impact of skater owned shoe, clothing brands. Fucking Nike ruined everything.
The Neversoft guys who edited Rowleys part...Man that is the choppiest thing i’ve ever seen. They cut so many lands all together too. Cringeworthy edit 😂🤦♂️
Yup N64 owners got screwed. I first rented and eventually got the game for the playstation on xmas '99. My neighbors had the N64 and they rented this game and I remember the "intro" was just gameplay footage of each skater put together. Also the music was butchered like "Police Truck" with missing vocals and some songs even missing like "Euro Barge".
This is honestly too much to handle I haven't seen this since I was a boy.
Its crazy the effect it has with the memory

dooope :)
best part of the videos in the games is how the neversoft devs in their own little video got better with every single game :D
I've never seen this before until now.
@@atreyuthevigilante4755 you need to complete the game with officer dick or private carrera and get all the tapes and gold medals
1:06 I remember when I was a kid my brother accidentally kicked the ps1 and this video played out of nowhere

Is it still worth buying if you own all the other games?
Totally.
On another note, Elissa Steamer's shoes looked like Jordan's lol. It was Etnies most likely I know lol.
I remember going from Super Nintendo to this and being like wow, there’s real video in a game. 21 years ago, insane.
Fucking insane man. Time flies
I’m so Fuckin proud to be a 91 baby. Didn’t know how our shit would age nostalgically, turns out it’s Fuckin great my dude.

I knew about skateboarding before I played this game because my brother skated but I didn’t really get interested in it until I played the game

That flip at the end is something I've honestly never seen before!
I still have my thps game for ps1! This game got me into skateboarding and punk music. Larger than life game and blew my mind!
The only level I haven't tried from the first game is the San Francisco level, is it good?
Yea it's a good level. Has some cool hidden areas. Loved grinding on cop cars lol
7:11 Jeremy Wray should've been in THPS 1
back when the product itself was far more important than money.. if only times were still this simple
Those bails were savage back then 🤣

6:41 Was that Mike Vallely?
Yes
6:41 is awsome
This was simply the coolest shit kick ass game I ever played...
Fuck modern. Games. This game made me believe I was a top pro skater lol
I got into music and playing drums, bc I heard Jerry was a race card driver in THPS, also I started skateboarding then 16 years ago
No Rodney Mullen on Thps1??? That’s preposterous!
6:19 - You put a smile on your face! 😝
reynolds footage was also from end or not? the clip mentioned 411vm.
I still hurt every time I watch bails like I used to back then. I just can't watch.
Dead kennedys!! Wow lol memories
0:17 so clean
What's the order of the skaters in the Bails video?
Happy Go Skateboarding Day 🛹 from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 👦🛹🎮
Does any one of you know the song at 3:10 ? Thanks
Screamer (Nothing To Me) - Speedealer
Nostalgia pura ❤
Used to watch the videos to get pumped to ride my cheap single kick my nan got for me 99” was simple
1999.. when life was uncomplicated
also caus i was 11 years old haha
6:18 - Bails.
Same thing I said about the pyramid drink.........get at me!!!!!tk
7:13 Insane Gap!!
who is the guy at 7:11 ?
Jeremy Wray doing the water tower gap.
Funny thing is that i think game affected skateboarding too
After thps, skateboarding at least quadrupled in popularity. Skateboarding would have gone the way of the rollerblade, if it wasnt for thps.
@@Dee-nonamnamrson8718 true I think the main reason most people after the year of 1999 became skaters was just because of this game
@@vicviper2005 I started skating because of Rodney Mullen's part in THPS when I was 12.
