One of the bits I love about this movie. Brian’s friends don’t abandon him when he changes. They realize he is going through something and tell him they are there for him.
Yeah, I think that's a plus for him. He was going thru a very hard time after Vinh died, he was trying to get some answers, and maybe improve on his bad boy image for Tina (Vinh's gf.). If anything, they probably thought with the short hair, and the preppy clothes, that he was going thru a phase, and he'll probably snap out of it.
God, I watched this my freshman year in 1990 when I first started skating. I was in Eureka Ca and this movie BLEW MY MIND. I would end up starting a skate company at 34 years old and the first two guys on my team were Frankie Hill and Eric Ricks. Blue Dragon Enterprises only lasted about a year, but to have my childhood heroes on my team was a dream come true.

A major thanks to whomever uploaded this. I probably watch this 1000 times in my youth. I was a daily skater. This, trashin' and rad were all we had before skate videos were accessable. This was epic in it's day.
It took a ton of courage for Brian to give himself a complete makeover like that, we all know just how powerful and overwhelming the pressure from our peers can be, especially in high school.
I think Brian was trying to prove to Tina that he wasn't all about skateboarding. He was willing to change, but couldn't fully change, as the skateboard still played a dominant role in his life.
Few more big names in there then I ever realized, Stacy Peralta (wasn't in the movie but was involved in the production) Mike valley, and I think Andy Nguyen was a skater too, pretty sure I seen that name in at least one of the Tony hawk games.
This used to come on either HBO or USA when I was a kid, made me want a skateboard, after gettin one I fell and had to get a total of 36 stitches. Thanx Christian Slater lol
@Kane Kochera I should have been more specific with the time stamp but wanted to include the entire segment. It's when he says "it's ridiculous to think there will be anything here in 30 years".
I went to see this movie when it came out,saw it being promoted on “Entertainment Tonight “, and it did not disappoint…the skateboard stunts done in this movie were phenomenal especially the curved hill stunt, the stunt gliding under the truck among others.Definitely made this movie stand out,Christian Slater played this role well. After watching this movie,my friends and I all suddenly wanted skateboards..😅
Classic it brings back so many memories as a kids growing up I was the only black kid skate boarding with my friends and Erie..PA 30 years ago 👌 best days ever !!! Bro
Erie Pennsylvania that's got that big ass park it's like you can never stop driving in it That must be fun skating over there with the park on the lake did the beach there have the sand flies that bite? you
This has been an extremely vague memory for 20 years until I just googled “skateboarders Asian brother dies” and finally found it.
Lool
Saw this in Highschool me and my friends were the only ones in the theater we were 16 they were all skaters I would film them skate
Wish I could go back in time. Miss the 90s. I know this was 1989 but close enough. Before cell phones. I'm stuck in the wrong time right now. Everyone tells me I need to let the past go, but it's hard. This movie is the shit. Brian's hair should have its own autograph.. When you're 37 and still wanna be Brian. Lol.
Same here 37 almost 38
Damn i agree so much. This era was awesome. Hes haircut is fire 🔥
And the Musik, the clothes, the girls , the Cars..... everything.
Today all bullshit.
Not my time.
I give the Rest of my living years for a live back in this time from 80 to 2000.
83 baby and I agree. Something has been lost in the last 20 years. We were the last to have real culture in our childhood. I feel terrible for kids today who don't know what they missed.
Knowing God can help you feel like your true self, like you are still young on the inside, and bot to care so much how other's want us to be/act. Besolides you r at the beginning of adulthood...u r young silly. Just wanted to say I get you. p.s. I am 60 lol
Omg!!!! I'm SO EXCITED that TH-cam has this movie for FREE!!!! I had totally forgotten about this gem.....and then saw it in someone's FB post today.
Thanks for this. I still have my Tony Hawk deck with the same Variflex trucks that I rode in the 80’s. Still ride it today with my kids.
Your welcome thanks for watching
My husband was looking for this movie everywhere! And I said “let’s check TH-cam” and BAM 💥 our friend here made it available for free!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
Awesome . Loved every minute of this in 2024. Best days 1980 -2000.
One of my Favorite Christian Slater movies❤CLASSIC So many Memories...
A major thanks to whomever uploaded this. I probably watch this 1000 times in my youth. I was a daily skater. This, trashin' and rad were all we had before skate videos were accessable. This was epic in it's day.
Always did like this movie ,I was a skater ,still am I guess just ride my blades now even at 53
35 years old now. Amazing
It took a ton of courage for Brian to give himself a complete makeover like that,
we all know just how powerful and overwhelming the pressure from our peers can be, especially in high school.
I think Brian was trying to prove to Tina that he wasn't all about skateboarding. He was willing to change, but couldn't fully change, as the skateboard still played a dominant role in his life.
No. I was in high school in the early 1990's. Everyone had their own style.
I always assumed he just used it to get information from her
Thank you for uploading this movie! I was in 4th grade when this came out. This was one of my favorite movies. I miss 80s
Watch the intro like 500,00 times. Loved the 80's. mis the 'decades' years
And I'm just realizing that the kid that worked at Pizza Hut is freaking Tony Hawk. That's awesome.
Same here, watched this movie more times than I could ever count and never realized that
Few more big names in there then I ever realized, Stacy Peralta (wasn't in the movie but was involved in the production) Mike valley, and I think Andy Nguyen was a skater too, pretty sure I seen that name in at least one of the Tony hawk games.
@@G00gLe_was_my_idea989Rodney Mullen too...
Basically the best movie ever.. Even better than Water World
Nothing is better than water world. Unless it’s the highlander.
Street dreams is better than both
Don't forget breakin'
Wow when movies and life had purpose-)
The best skateboarding movie ever created 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
you just made my entire morning, currently drinking coffee and smoking a fat one to re live this classic GEM. thank you for this!
Smoking gives you cancer

@@Andy-Aims at least I’ll make it past the age of 40
Corvette dude was a bro if there ever was one...
To this day, I still don't know why I like this film.
I'm not even a skateboarder.
You like it because it's fun, has a care-free aura and because of its nostalgia. Same reason we all like it! 😎
I'm not a superhero yet I like the Batman movies.
I still answer the phone with "Bolsa Video, may I help you?" when an unknown number calls. 😂
After all these years this movie still makes me happy :)
This used to come on either HBO or USA when I was a kid, made me want a skateboard, after gettin one I fell and had to get a total of 36 stitches. Thanx Christian Slater lol
HBO
Am born in 95 but this I 1 of the best movies i have seen it is in my top 10 + I don't even board just to amazing
This was one of those films when you saw it on tv you just had to watch.
I just told my 12 year old son about this movie. Thank you for this. We will be watching this movie very soon
It's been 30 years since I last watched this movies... Long live the 80s!
13:52 - yes, that's how we thought...
@Kane Kochera I should have been more specific with the time stamp but wanted to include the entire segment. It's when he says "it's ridiculous to think there will be anything here in 30 years".
Went down the 80s rabbit hole so cool 😎!!’
Christian is gorgeous 🤗
meat sweats
I was an 80s kid and never saw this movie until now 2024. Pretty cool movie 😄
I started skating off this movie 🍿🎥
I love this movie😎 I watched it as a kid , now I’m watching it with my youngest son 😎🛹
My Boss assigned this movie to me as homework :D I love this
You guys hiring?
I went to see this movie when it came out,saw it being promoted on “Entertainment Tonight “, and it did not disappoint…the skateboard stunts done in this movie were phenomenal especially the curved hill stunt, the stunt gliding under the truck among others.Definitely made this movie stand out,Christian Slater played this role well. I being a skateboard guy myself always enjoyed watching this film,I appreciate that this movie has a loyal following of fans around the country and throughout the world as well.
Somehow... I just knew this movie was in youtube. Christian slater was my idol when I was 10 😂
Thanks for the upload. Awesome movie. One of my favorites growing up. Had to have watched it 100 times. Great movie, great plot. during a great time period late 80's.
Yea I hear you I miss it
Have not watched this since it was on HBO , seen it first at the theaters when i was 14 ( thank you nana for taking us ) i always dreamed of skating this way , but since i have always been a big guy i just could not get any tricks down , but the feeling of just skating in the warm summer weather in Chicago was liberating , back then that was all the therapy we needed to get through any hard times we were facing. 48 now and this just took me back to my Hs days thank you , and to all my fellow skaters who don't skate no more cause health insurance is to high now and we cant afford to break a bone ..SKATE OR DIE for EVER !!!
The end Chase action sequences fantastic
Me and my friends used to gather at my house after school and watch movies like this and the Coreys, and Police Academy movies.
It really was a different time.
I was 12 when this came out & my moms immediately said “Don’t even ask for a skateboard”🤦🏾♂️🤣
😂😂😂
What a cool mum 😄👍🏾
Cool cool... I'm an 80's kid that enjoyed skateboarding in the 90's and I think it's crazy I never saw this after watching it on a whim in my 40's
One of my favorites! Thanks for the upload 💗
