Great vid! Though here are some corrections and comments: - The LA pillar refers to a different pillar, the one near the yellow shack. In THUG2, wallriding it will zoom the camera out and count how many times you wall-rode around it. - The Barcelona stretcher is also visible in the PSP port THUG2 Remix. The reason why it isn't visible in other versions is due to some sort of transparency bug. Pretty much any kind of moving object that's behind a transparent texture such as a window will not be shown. Another good example is some spinning blades in Boston, where you have to break the grind blockers. The blades are visible on PS2/PSP, but not other versions. - The hippo sex area is actually under the Zoo level. You can easily find it by using thugpro's freecam. The hippos arent there, they seem to only spawn when viewing through the scope. Oh yeah, and theres a tree there. There isn't even a tree in the hippo area. - The CKY graffiti could be referring to a bit of graffiti in Barcelona. Right next to the MAMO area at the OOB street, you can see graffiti saying "CKY". The SSBSTS graffiti in Suburbia is cool, too. - There is another reference to Kurt in Barcelona. In the Maremagnum area, there is a sign that says "Por favor, NO KURT en la agua" which means "Please, NO KURT in the water". Also, in the debug menu for thps4, thug and thug2, if you select "score 5 million points", you do a trick called "You cheat like Kurt". - Airshuffling was an exploit from THAW. There exist tutorials on how to do them. You pretty much make a created manual trick, do the manual in the air while off your board, ollie and repeat. Thugpro pretty much made an easier variation of it. - The andyTHPS bunker ledge is a reference to a classic video by an old clan called tXo (thugXonline). In one of these vids is a clip of Andy playing THPS3, and he manuals that exact ledge in LA. The video was made back in I believe 2002, back in the dayz of downloading 240p AVIs from websites. - There exist MANY, MANY more names that perform a similar effect to TYR. They all result in different jumbled words. I have no idea what the strings could mean. I believe they could be ciphers. I tried Ceasar, but turned up empty. Maybe it could be a different one? That or the names inputted are supposed to be a key? That's just a theory. - A little interesting tidbit about the Hookups deck in THAW: the deck is actually censored, the girl is supposed to have her middle finger up, but its edited out. The uncensored deck still exists in the game's files. - THAW also has it's own set of strange test cutscenes. THUG1 has a file called "TEST.cut" but I never managed to get it working. And in THUG1's music files, there is a piece of cutscene audio called something like "NJ Pool" or "Pool Test" where a guy tries to grind a pool but fails. - In Vancouver in THUG, the limo's license plate says "Lim0zEEn" which is yet another HSR reference. The panel messages when whacking the electrical box in THAW also include "Don't cross the streams" and "1.21 Giggawatts". - If you ollie over the dog in Tampa, it actually disappears. Forgot what the gap name was, but I think it could imply that the dog is related to Ollie the Bum. - The hidden Sk8land messages allude to other secrets. The first one mentioned is actually "The CRATE-a-skater lives". By putting in a cheat (I think it's "crate-a-skater" your skater turns into a crate. The second message hints to when going behind a specific set of bushes, you hear... farts. yup lol Aside from these, this was a great video! I never thought someone would cover a THPS iceberg. Just a small correction regarding Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure Each character has three unlockable special moves, not just one. They each get one air special, one lip special, and one manual special, and each is unlocked at random by collecting all 25 of their collectables in each level. (And on a personal note I would have much preferred a grind special over a lip special if they absolutely had to stick to just three.)
The reason hospital bed was taken out of other versions is most likely due to an ESRB review team missing it or something. I believe that they edit games rated teen based off of instances of anything contoversial or blood and gore. While it is fairly easy to ask a programmer to take out something named "gun shot" they could have seen "hospital bed" and thought nothing of it on the Ps2 version's censor team. "A hospital bed? That's not inherently bloody or gory." Along those lines.

I don't know shit about these games and just barely remember playing 2 as a SUPER little kid, but I can actually explain the woman's face on the boxes in the N64 port. You mentioned it's when the Expansion Pak is inserted, and this is why, because what the Expansion Pak does is allow for more VRAM and higher quality textures, however this can cause various bugs with games not programmed to use the Pak such as the unskippable opening to Space Station Silicon Valley not playing properly and then crashing the game. The woman's face is a texture used elsewhere that just bugged it's way onto those boxes, probably from an in-level advertisement for something, especially since the level appears to be in a mall or similar environment
@Lyla If it's only on the N64 version, it makes sense for it to be a bug. Just because there's a 100% chance of something happening under certain conditions doesn't mean it's not a bug, that's like saying the backwards long jump isn't a bug because you can consistently pull it off. It's likely that due to the changes made to the N64 version, and that most N64s have the Expansion Pak in there, that the box is just loading the wrong texture.
A hidden area you didn't mention is in the Area 51 level where you can jump the fence where you 1st drop in. It only works on the right corner though and there is a hidden pit fall that keeps you from getting to the chopper. If you fall in, you can't get out and you have to restart the level. It works on both the PS1 and N64 versions but they got rid of it in the new remake.

The only thing I can remember of the top of my head is a real deep one I've never seen anybody mention because maybe it was just my version. But in the L.A. Level in THPS3 on the PS1 Version, you can ride an elevator in a building up to the secret tape. But if you touch the walls and corners of the elevator while its going up, the game glitches and you get stuck frozen mid air and you have to restart the console.
I was playing 2x on the Xbox the other day, and couldn't help but notice in the Chicago level (skate park) there's a photo of the judges.. And it appears that a few of them are holding a gun to their head.
Sk8land hidden rail/message - If you hang out in some of the bushes in the corner near the big mansion and the level exit in Beverly Hills, a fart sound effect will play. I don't remember if there was a good explanation for the other message but it might have something with the "Crate-A-Skater" secret character who is made out of boxes.
as someone who's spent many many hours in every mainline game, I definitely appreciate this video. your lines are pretty nasty too! good job man, earned a sub I'd say ^-^
In Tony Hawk's Underground if you use Moon gravity in Manhattan you can find yourself out of bounds. Where the two police are standing near the building with the face. Use Moon gravity to keep jumping up the wall to the left. This will let you jump up to building that is out bounds. There's a lot to do up there but remember to set restart or you'll have to do it again.
Just an FYI, there is no Private Carrera in the N64 port of THPS2. The only reason some people think there is, is that the old cheat websites have never been updated, and people get it confused with the PS1 version.
The Sk8land hidden rail messages refer to: a cheat (the crate-a-skater cheat turns your skater into a bunch of crates) and an Easter egg (a certain bush in Beverly Hills plays a fart noise)

At 27:14, the one on the left looks like it's the WHHA portrait of James Buchanan or the National Portrait Gallery portrait of James Monroe (the background fits more with Monroe than Buchanan) and the right one is the NPG portrait of Thomas Jefferson. The last one is most certainly George Washington (the WHHA and NPG portraits are essentially the same for him). lil jon was only unlocked if you bought the special edition of thaw. I did. There was lil jon as a character and I think 2 levels hidden behind that paywall. Most people just used a gameshark to edit the bool value to true to unlock them and more found there was more hidden levels in most of the tony hawk games not visable on level select and only accessable via gameshark codes or pc releases, and the pc releases had different levels and often made the game crash. The oddities are that school 1 was in most tony hawk games in different states of completion.
Ok hold up, there's an easter-egg hidden in the video itself, could you please tell me what are those mysterious songs you used in the last 3 bits of the iceberg?? I've never heard them before, are they from Tony Hawk games? Great video btw, enjoyed it all
Nah, those 3 songs he used aren't from Tony Hawk. You can see them in the credits at the end of the video what they are. The "Better Luck Next Time" song in the credits is from 3Xtreme, another skateboarding game, while the other 2 are from Go Go Hypergrind and Evolution Skateboarding.

Level in THPS3 on the PS1 Version, you can ride an elevator in a building up to the secret tape. But if you touch the walls and corners of the elevator while its going up, the game glitches and you get stuck frozen mid air and you have to restart the console.
That Rich Evans cameo was unexpected
Yeah
I knew most of these surprisingly and figured out even weirder stuff on my own. Damn I've put in work in this franchise over the years.
That's why you are the magnificent and got it made !
19:05 Believe it or not, most skaters would actually consider that a frontside halfcab because your body is facing forward when you're mid rotation.
The fact that the unlockable hot chick is unlocked by NAILING GAPS. There's something in that joke.
The kitchen in the little big world looks almost like the same kitchen layout used in a sega dreamcast game called toy commander
No way man thank you for using my clip at 0:41 🤘
as someone who's spent many many hours in every mainline game, I definitely appreciate this video. your lines are pretty nasty too! good job man, earned a sub I'd say ^-^
great video thank you
True
34:46 Freeway is also the name of one of Activision's much earlier games, released back on the Atari 2600
i love watching videos like this, because i literally know nothing about skating and have never played a tony hawk game
You forgot something about the Vancouver hockey thing, you can grind the goal right after scoring for an extra effect
Amazing Video! And the Pyrocynical gag at the end was the icing on the cake
1:11 BALLIN' response video ya got there
In Tony Hawk's Underground if you use Moon gravity in Manhattan you can find yourself out of bounds.
Thanks for that! The DS game was great. I didnt like any other THPS games other than the PS1 and DS games.
I think an under rated interview with an edge of reality dev
i fucking love this video, even if i knew most of the stuff, the production is just great, it's so fun to watch, i even watch it out of boredom, probably the only iceberg video i'll like
great vid. love me some tony hawk and there were actually things i didnt know included here. ive been playing the games ever since THPS 2 was released
Mad props for including C-Wizzy in your BALLLLIIIIIN video
I still can’t believe they made tony hawk a real person
Loved the pyro meme at the end
Oddheader asked a dev about the bloody strencher disappear on other consoles the dev said tha it was most likely just a bug.
Let's be real. The remake of 1 and 2 is great, but a remake of 3 and 4 is what we all need.
As a little kid the creepy cut scenes with monsters and stuff scared me so bad
Lmao yuup. I was 8 when tony hawks underground came out and I skipped that opening video with CHUD in it literally every single time
@@hopdon9115 I remember when I was little I put the disc in my PS2 and fell asleep. I woke up to that cut scene and cried so hard I puked. I was like 6
Love the vid but the music during the Below the Surface is super annoying as the dial sounds like my flats intercom
this is one hell of a high effort video! good job my dude
Literally thought of this this morning and now it’s in my recommendation
My response to this?
"That was siiiiiick!"
Despite me never playing any of these games, this was an incredibly fun and interesting video to watch.
In terms of the politicians, they are all US Presidents. The first one seen in the video (at 27:08) is the White House Historical Association portrait of Harry S. Truman.
I used this as a source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portraits_of_presidents_of_the_United_States
36:03 RIP Ollies Skatepark in Florence, KY
Thank you for explaining my favorite game and showing the secrets
I've been waiting for someone to make this video!
When I think of Tony Hawk it always starts with sound tracks and usually ends with Easter eggs, secret characters, and other mysterious things
28:28 the 3Xtreme menu music. I haven’t played that game in years. I played that game before THPS.
I wouldn't say the iceberg stuff was a meme, more just a trend. A template for delivering indepth information on any given topic in an easily understood way.
I’m playing thug 2 on the Boston level right now while watching this and I had no idea about the Star Wars kid Easter egg. I had to check it out myself, pretty cool lol.
Just watched my first iceberg video and had to find a thps one. Good stuff!
Iggy Van Zandt gotta be one of my favorite characters in the Tony Hawk franchise
Congrats on your video blowing up! Good content, keep it up man!
lil jon was only unlocked if you bought the special edition of thaw. The oddities are that school 1 was in most tony hawk games in different states of completion.
you can unlock lil jon on other ports of THAW. Ive unlocked him on both Xbox and Xbox 360. 80's hawk and 70's alva were collector's edition exclusive
the dead body is also visible on the psp version of underground 2
A T posing Phil in his underwear was all I needed to see in life.
Hahaha I love the chad warden clip
PS triple Chad warden don’t give a fuuuck Ight I’ll give you $600 to shut the hell up nigga
Very nice video and how you broke it down made it way more interesting for some reason
I've barely played the Tony Hawk series, but this was still an enjoyable time.
Wonderful video, but curious about the main backing track you used (with the breakbeats and the wonderful choir) during the Into the Abyss section
BEST ICEBERG EVA!!!!!
Great video!! Timeline at the end blew my mind lol
theres a glitch in thps 3 on ps1 that me and my friend found when we was little. when you go to airport on 2 player mode and in the beginning in the right theres a baggage carousel, and when you grind right before the "hole where the bags go :D" you get in to a black void where you can grind and if you jump out of it u just stay in the air. (im from finland so english is not my main language)
Great video! But yo there are a few other things to mention about THUG 2. Like the create a goal- NJ glitch for Thug 2 (let's you play half of New Jersey from THUG 1) and complete out of bounds in Los Angeles (THPS3 classic level).
Getting out of bounds in th games is fairly easy ,
I needed this! Was maybe expecting AndyTHPS to possibly do it, but im glad it was done regardless!
7:47 I cannot understand what you said
lmao
