I feel like the true reason for Rodney’s low stats is making him the most realistic character. He isn’t buffed by stats with any sort of assistance you have to make due with what you have, the true essence of Rodney’s skating!
I don't remember Rodney's stats being that low although his vert stats were below average I guess but Manual, Rail and Ollie were among the best if not the best.
Rodney Mullen was always my favorite pro skater to choose in THPS2, always wondered why his stats were THAT low lol I guess in the end it didn't matter since you got to level up the stats the more you progressed 🛹
@@gbasso666 That was my literal thought.. I always thought he was the best character to start with since his stats were the best to combo with, Air tricks in thps1 and 2 were worthless. Funny considering Tony is the vert god and the game is named after him yet vert sucks ass lol.
@Matt G Mullen was the first to do a flat-ground Ollie and like 90% of the tricks used in street. He may not have made street popular but he did make it possible.
Aw, Rodney... "Thank you so much for bringing us all together" bringing the boys back, a revisit to the day. ❤️❤️ Good on all of you. Rodney bless that kind heart of yours.
When I first played THPS and knew very little about skateboarding culture or pro skateboarders, I watched the tapes of all the skaters and was so amazed, but when I got to Rodney Mullen I literally couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Then I go on to find he invented the modern day skateboard and damn near every flat ground trick there is. So I think “wow, this guy probably has every right to be prideful or full of himself for all that he’s done” and then I watch interviews of him and it’s immediately obvious that he’s one of the most selfless and humble people ever, and without a doubt in his field. Give him his flowers while he’s here, he goes up and above the title of legend and let’s be grateful that he was born in the era of film and cameras because there’s no way people would believe what he’s done otherwise.
Names that should be emblazoned on any enthusiast of the sport’s mind. These guys are the Mount Rushmore of skateboarding, and we’re missing some big names, too. Stacy Peralta probably being the most famous absentee.

Rodney Mullen is such a genuine dude. Just really authentic guy who shows his emotions honestly and as they without putting up the slightest front. Very special dude - both as a skateboarder and as a person in general.
Only by people who are completely outside skating and only know who Tony Hawk is. To anyone with even casual knowledge of skating though... No, he's definitely not under-appreciated. Rodney is widely known and revered as the superhuman he is.
When I first started playing, I had no idea who Kareem Campbell was. Once I found out the button combo to the Ghetto Bird I did it off of everything. Easily my favorite skater in game and real life.
Rodney mullen has to be one of the coolest dudes in the planet. I know Tony hawk is very humble but you know they screwed with Rodney's stats because it's the only way anyone could be better then him street skating. He's a bad ass dude and a huge inspiration for me getting into shape and picking up a skateboard again 20 years after the last time i got on one.
It's not some conspircay on Tony's half. Also Tony isn't a street skater never was. He was a vert skater and Mullen Was a flatland skater not a street skater. The two dont compare.
So good to see Rodney Mullen be so humble, wholesome, and happy. Honestly made me genuinely smile. Remember picking him in thps1 and watching his crazy trick videos in the early and mid 2000s.
Damn this is so trippy. I was 6 YEARS OLD when this game came out. They're all basically my dad's age now but their hearts are all still in the same place. Love these guys.
Keep that in mind when you see someone who is older acting goofy and playful. Living sucks the life out of you. But luckily, skateboarding and art keep you young.
I remember the first time I unlocked Rodney's video. My mind was blown. I didn't even know who he was because I wasn't in to skateboarding that much. Then to later learn that he also invented all those crazy tricks he was doing...honestly the game should have been called Rodney Mullen's Pro Skater.
LOL. Agree. I think this just shows how authentic these people are. I don't really know them , other than the game. My brother was the skater, I gave him my board (As I grew up, and put on weight, I knew gravity and physics were NOT on my side LOL). But it's him and the skaters at Miranda Fair I have to thank for telling me how to get in before it opened, so I could be front in line to meet a certain Gillian Anderson. Treasured Memory...
I hope everyone here realises how much of a genius & important figurehead in skateboarding Rodney Mullen is. Back in the day, he was like an actual wizard. He still is. Nobody could even come close to touching him. He's an extremely nice guy, & his passion has always shone through his skateboarding. Corey and tony has changed all their lives I’m sure. with the game. Given them a ton of exposure and I would guess enough money to not have to worry too much.
"the truth has been spoken"
Well when you're so good at skateboarding that you make a living from it, their satisfaction rates are off the charts. Making them infinitely chill
Rodney Mullen is amazing. Dude is all smiles and is one of the best skaters to ever exist.
Gang Starr, above the clouds reigning down. Chad is one of the coolest dudes in skating. Still have my Muska rising sun deck. Wish this was longer, I don't think people get how big of a deal this is.
RIP Guru
Muska and Mullen where my 2 favs growing up. Chad is just so chill he's hard not to like
I'm still hiding weed in my muska hi tops lmao
Hey I just turned 28 couple days ago, so not a youngin but I understand how big of a deal it is!!!! But kids younger than me... yeah. Idk maybe we need Nyjah or someone to grab a boom box during their next crook lol if he even could that was fricken gnarly
My brother got a shorty's board for christmas and my tiny self got this bigass cabalero cruiser and I wasnt happy I love it now but at the time I loved Chad muskas stuff
"The Avengers" from my childhood.
ASSEMBLE!
That's actually a really beautiful way to put it.
Nice!
I'm not even a skateboarder, but I can relate to this comment. Same goes for the Jackass crew😂.
you litereally just figured out the best way to describe how I feel about this video game series AND this video
Rodney is the nicest person to ever walk this earth. I can’t imagine that he’s ever said anything negative about anyone or anything.
He really is...his ted talk was awesome and I knew Instantly when I saw gleaming the cube that he was the stunt double during the end sequence I mean those moves are iconically his
He's the nicest guy on this planet
@@XeroFailGames Rodney was also on PhysicsGirl channel to explain how the impossible is done. He created like 80% of the tricks on street and he talks about it as if he hasn't. He changed skateboarding, loved by everyone, and still doesn't want to take credit because he is so humble that it'd take normal people another 20-100 years before we'd learn all the things Rodney brought to the table with the motivation of Daewon Song. Different styles, but helped him tons, as much as he helped others. Rodney is the Eisenstein/Schrödinger of skateboarding. Literally.

Dude Rodney looks so happy to be there, I’ve missed him so much
I feel like the true reason for Rodney’s low stats is making him the most realistic character. He isn’t buffed by stats with any sort of assistance you have to make due with what you have, the true essence of Rodney’s skating!
Balance is the most important thing for combos and Rodney has it all, since he's the king of manual tricks
Chad Muska was my best choice for thps
Mullen Stats had high, Rail Balance, Manual and Ollie, switch are the most important stats in the game...
Exactly he literally made street skating popular
@@gbasso666 That was my literal thought.. I always thought he was the best character to start with since his stats were the best to combo with, Air tricks in thps1 and 2 were worthless. Funny considering Tony is the vert god and the game is named after him yet vert sucks ass lol.
@Matt G Mullen was the first to do a flat-ground Ollie and like 90% of the tricks used in street. He may not have made street popular but he did make it possible.
This is the dopest happiest thing I’ve seen in quarantine everyone is so upbeat and excited love this shit
Yeah they're all such nice guys (and girls) and 100% authentic.
Jablinskis video is much better
Aw, Rodney... "Thank you so much for bringing us all together" bringing the boys back, a revisit to the day. ❤️❤️ Good on all of you. Rodney bless that kind heart of yours.
*Rodney* is one of those rare people that just by being near him you can't help but be in a good mood and smile.
He's like human Scooby Doo
He’s no trumptard
@obglobgablob when you dont have any personality and/or opinion yourself you have to bring something else into play? im not sure xD
Was literally saying the same to myself. Such a cool dude
obglobgablob
Aww, are you gonna cry, snowflake? 🤭
It’s crazy to think of how influential Rodney Mullen is... he basically invented street skating and yet such a humble dude.. legend
Wow, so insane actually seeing Kareem speak on film after all these years.
Kareem Campbell looks exactly the same as when the game was released and still kills it on a skateboard
You mean, extremely blurred and pixely?
@@EcnalKcin no, black

Rodney is one of the most genuine human beings on this planet.
What nobody know is that Rodney Mullen is actually Spider-Man, that is why is so friendly
That would actually explain his abilities on a skateboard. 🧐
Your Friendly Neighborhood Rodney-Man.
So we're getting Spiderman in the THPS remaster after all. 🤔
Spider-Man was Tony Hawk actually lol
Sony owns him.. 😆
The genuine mutual respect between Tony and Rodney is the best thing ever
Rodney Mullen is an absolute diamond of a person, he's always so happy and humble
Tony: Why you have the worst stats.
Rodney: That's my base form.
Btw Darkslide blew my mind back then. Still is
@Wise Man and no one likes you
@Wise Man whats wrong little guy?
@Wise Man I can tell by ur comments that you are a wise man
@Wise Man that's no way to talk about your grandmother
@Wise Manit's cute that you're letting gram gram take you on a date son. Will give me and your mother some alone time 😉
I love that this re-release is gonna introduce these legendary skater's to whole new batch of fans.
Right keeps them relevant
I'm glad the game is an incredible remaster and is a big hit
Names that should be emblazoned on any enthusiast of the sport’s mind. These guys are the Mount Rushmore of skateboarding, and we’re missing some big names, too. Stacy Peralta probably being the most famous absentee.
I don’t know if there is a more humble happier person on this planet than Rodney Mullen. This man is always in a good mood
Rodney is always the happiest person. Look at him, I just love that. He deserves it.
Kids heckling Tony to do the 900° is like people heckling musicians to play Free Bird.
hahahaha exactly
No it would be like asking musicians to play the double novelty guitar. Freebird is easier than a 900
Or Two Joints by Sublime if you play Reggae. lol
or heckling skaters to do a kickflip
Or like asking a ten year old to do a 1080...... oh wait that shit happens all the time on youtube.....
Every person hugs and thanks Tony after their interaction with him and you just know its because he's probably helped every single one of them at some point.
Jackbro82 damn dude he’s still got a lot of years left we don’t gotta talk about all that yet!
@Jackbro82 Same, he's such an amazing person.
Kareem Campbell is such a legend to me as a Black skater 🛹💪🏾 I know he inspired a lot of us seeing him in the game shredding 🙏🏾
i’m white and i play him a lot, he’s super cool👊
Crazy seeing footage of Kareem, never saw an interview of him or even heard his voice. Trip
He was always the character i'd play too.
God i wish Bob could've been there, those blue and white eś shoes hit different after the Philly x games
Adam Rodriguez same feeling
I'm wishing the same but with Bam
alright it’s time for the Brazilian actionnn
Remember Bob's backflip up down right err something lol
@Gamecore this was done before shit got bad.
Ya know, it's weird. Video games keep people inside but Tony Hawk's made me pick up a skateboard and go outside. Best childhood ever.
Dude for real.
So Blessed
Me too.
Same. and I never learned how to skateboard lol Still went back to playing THPS as much as I could until I was out of high school.
Same for the graffiti games. Good point mate. Thats really rare
Rodney Mullen is such a genuine dude. Just really authentic guy who shows his emotions honestly and as they without putting up the slightest front. Very special dude - both as a skateboarder and as a person in general.
rodney mullen might be the most under appreciated athlete of all time
Only by people who are completely outside skating and only know who Tony Hawk is.
To anyone with even casual knowledge of skating though... No, he's definitely not under-appreciated. Rodney is widely known and revered as the superhuman he is.
Kareem was underrated in the classic! Dudes dope af and his signature was raw!
I was always Kareem. I wasn’t even into skateboarding but he became my favorite skater of all time because of the game.
Same, I played the living shit outta Kareem
He like never aged
When I first started playing, I had no idea who Kareem Campbell was. Once I found out the button combo to the Ghetto Bird I did it off of everything. Easily my favorite skater in game and real life.
Rodney mullen has to be one of the coolest dudes in the planet. I know Tony hawk is very humble but you know they screwed with Rodney's stats because it's the only way anyone could be better then him street skating.
He's a bad ass dude and a huge inspiration for me getting into shape and picking up a skateboard again 20 years after the last time i got on one.
He is just a genuinely happy dude. I always see Mullen smiling and laughing, no matter what is going on.
It's not some conspircay on Tony's half. Also Tony isn't a street skater never was. He was a vert skater and Mullen Was a flatland skater not a street skater. The two dont compare.
Rodney seems like the nicest and most humble guy on earth!
“It’s louder than a Metallica concert in there, I’ve got bulletproof sidings put in, and seven screens for my DVD player.” - Chad Muska
The Chadillac Muskalade
"Muska, chilling chilling, Where Australia?!" -Also Chad Muska

I mean, what's he done? Popped down a few rails, and he's travelling the world living like a king!
Here, Merry Christmas.
Thug was my favorite game ever
Steve caballero looks more like his thps 2 model now than when he was younger.
xDDDDDDD
Thats so accurate lmao
He based his style on the character and grew into it for sure.
That interviewer looks just like Tony Hawk.
Wonder what he's up to these days
Yeah, but this guy’s name is Anthony
I dunno why but the interviewer reminds me of that one guy who rode down a full loop ramp
I thought his name was birdhouse
Why?
So good to see Rodney Mullen be so humble, wholesome, and happy. Honestly made me genuinely smile. Remember picking him in thps1 and watching his crazy trick videos in the early and mid 2000s.
Seriously Rodney is the nicest guy on the planet would love you talk to him!
I'm smiling ear to ear throughout the whole entire video
Damn this is so trippy. I was 6 YEARS OLD when this game came out. They're all basically my dad's age now but their hearts are all still in the same place. Love these guys.
And, your dad is in what age range?
Keep that in mind when you see someone who is older acting goofy and playful. Living sucks the life out of you. But luckily, skateboarding and art keep you young.
Rodney's humility just pours throughout his interview, man is such a treasure.
Watching this from my Piano, Jack hit a solid G note.
🎹
Yeah he went higher than normal lmao
That information is literally useless. So what? Which G?

The best part of this video is seeing the love and respect Mullen has for Tony.
I remember the first time I unlocked Rodney's video. My mind was blown. I didn't even know who he was because I wasn't in to skateboarding that much. Then to later learn that he also invented all those crazy tricks he was doing...honestly the game should have been called Rodney Mullen's Pro Skater.
I love Rodney Mullen! So chill, humble and always so happy. Such a big genius in such a happy and shiny personality!
Joshua Cruz He’s a devout Christian, I wondered why he wore a cross necklace
Seeing Tony and Kareem together again took me back to the days where I use to play the hell out of the THPS demo.
This the first time I'm hearing Kareem Campbell speak EVER in my life
Dude sure looks young for 46
Matt Nelson Forreal, man looks great for his age, he popped up and I was like holy shit that can’t be Kareem dude looks way too young
All these guys look pretty good for their age let's be honest
And you know what they say
"Black don't crack" lol
Must not be a dgk fan 🤷♂️
Damn, Rodney almost made me cry with how wholesome he is! I remember seeing his videos and being in awe
They remastered it for their kids college tuitions lmao respect for the honesty.
This is true 😂😂😂😂
LOL.
Rodney is just so humble, Chad is just so playfully funny, Eric is irrationally realistic. Man I miss these guys 😂
I’m assuming SpiderMan was too busy to show? What a shame

Well he is probably in hiding after Mysterio outed him in Far From Home.
He’s there, he just didn’t bring the outfit...
@@badreligion1231 rey mysterio did what?
Did you not hear Tony Hawk say he was Spider-man? He showed up.
I still think it's awesome how Rodney Mullen and Physics Girl got together to try and explain how awesome he was. Just a humble man.
everytime i see Rodney, I just can't help but smile immensely. such an amazing soul & pioneer of the whole skate scene. THANK YOU
Nobody else think that this probably means Jack Black will be a bonus character on THPS?
Are you meaning to tell me that Jack wasn't Officer Dick in THPS 2?
He wasn't in the original right. I can't remember
@@rubenalvarado3640 Yeah, had to get all the tapes on one character though if I remember correctly
I could see him having a song in there
@@TwistedThrill44 had to get all tapes with Bob burnquest I'm pretty sure
Rodney just looks so appreciative being there, man gives off such a positive vibe
I hope everyone here realises how much of a genius & important figurehead in skateboarding Rodney Mullen is. Back in the day, he was like an actual wizard. He still is. Nobody could even come close to touching him. He's an extremely nice guy, & his passion has always shone through his skateboarding. To see him still being so nice & passionate, considering he is literally the father of street skating, is so wholesome & really reminds you that, if you can find your real true calling in life, you can always be happy.
I missed Andrew, Geoff, Bob, Jamie, Rune and Bucky. They should be there.
@Dario Hall lol omg that made me laugh and brought me nostalgia. I miss my teenage years :(
I beleve they were invited.
What if Bob is in Brazil, Geoff is in the UK and Rune is in Denmark and due to current situation they just cant travel to the US. But where was Bucky, Jamie and The Boss?
Wasn't Bam Margera on this?

When THPS first came out... my internet searches consisted of Jessica Alba and Rodney Mullen. LOL
Your house had internet?
Damn internet was to expensive for us, we had to do with drawing pictures of Jessica Alba that looked like a crooked Rodney Mullen.

I want old friends to tangibly appreciate me the way these guys appreciate Tony. changed each of their lives forever
Crazy seeing Kareem speak I been a fan for 25 years and that’s was a first
Hell yeah, I used to have this page from Thrasher magazine hanging on my wall that had him going hard and said Kareem The Dream in big letters, I would hang that up again today if I still had it
Jimbo P yes I was obsessed with MeNaCe skateboards as a kid!! The original DGK

Rodney Mullen immediately became my role model when I first saw his "I Love Skateboarding" video on THPS3. And he has been my role model ever since. The nicest, most talented, most important man in skating.
Heartily agreed, bro! He was always my first character to play through the career modes with in every one of the THPS games... most likely because I was hoping that I would get anther super sick video of him tricking out haha.
all the way, the single most important skater to exist. Tony gets #2 tho lol :p
@@alovely4478 Totally! I have watched so many Rodney docs and clips and I just love how he basically reinvented modern skateboarding..! He basically melded freestyle with the "new" street style in a way that nobody else likely could've.
As a lot of the pros have said, "yeah that trick..? oh yeah, he created that one. Oh that other trick..? yep, he created that too." lol. Just brilliant- I could watch him for hours. Not to mention the most humble of human beings....... Nothing but a top notch person.
And Tony gets a pass for whatever he wants just for bringing all of this shit together. I wouldn't even know what real and modern skateboarding was without him, so he's definitely also the man haha
