I bought the 5610 two days ago at a O’Reilly’s automotive store and I told the salesman that the box looked like someone used it as it had dirty finger prints on it I got home it had no manual or paper work I hooked it up to our 2006 Equinox and everything looked good then I found my car listed plus a 2014 Equinox and I don’t have a 2014 so I figured this tester is used so I took it back to the store and they didn’t have another so they ordered one from their bigger store who is their supplier. I actually wanted the 5610 v2 model but this used one was a 5610 so on with the story I put it back in the box and I seen a two page pamphlet crunched up at the bottom of the box. So they ordered the new scanner and I picked it up yesterday in said on the box 5610 same model I thought but when I removed it from the box it was the newer version 5610 v2 with a rubber protective case around the scanner plus this had the protective screen cover that you peel off and it had another cord that plugs in the bottom of the scanner USB I think not sure yet it also had a fairly think manual and a case to put everything in. So far I’am happy now. I wasn’t impressed with O’Reilly’s trying to sell me a used scanner at $309.99 September 2024
I watch these scan tool reviews because im trying to learn how to fix a crank, no start vehicle. I recommend that a video needs to be done where you're actually diagnosing and using the scanner to fix a vehicle.
It uses the app repairsolutions 2. All Innova scanners use it, as well as thier knock off brand that harbor freight sells. I have the base model and when connected bluetooth to the app is give all tsb, dealer recalls, possible fixes with assumed prices and a few other things. The app expands the capability exponentially.
Great video and thank you for sharing. I'm looking to track live data on a GM transmission (2017) where I need to view the following: Transmission shift speed Torque Converter slip speed Torque Converter duty cycle. Do you know if this device will provide this info?
I have that one, i bought after i lost my Maximus 3, i struggled with that 5610 for like 2 years until a couple of months when finally Innova released the update for it, it's somewhat misleading because it advertises bi directional and different module access, it's not true for all cars, it has let me down a couple of times for e-brake resets etc. It was almost $300 for those $300 i could of bought a used MAXCRPRO which does a lot more and more efficiently based on experience. Any way the 5610 isn't aimed towards the pro.
I just ordered the 5160rs - I don’t know too much about these scanners - just wanted to get a good one that can give me information when I’m having trouble lights come on. Can I mess up the vehicle if I don’t know everything about it ?
Great video question I saw that this scan tool performed misfire test does this mean each cylinder test including injectors as well I'll wait on your response thank you

anyone can flip down and read the words and keep flipping along. The thing that helps is Explanation of what each of those things mean. In over 14 minutes, I only heard maybe 2 brief explanations. But thanks anyway. I learned more from the comments expressing dissatisfaction with the product and due to that I'll keep shopping for something else.
Wow! 😳 that is a lot someone is making a killing in Canada! I just bought the Innova Scanner 5610 v2 at a O’Reilly’s on 9-23-2024 for $309.99 Amazon had it for $345.09
What car are you using this on? If you have an older car, there may not be any special features to perform. This tool only shows what can be done on your specific model.
Far too brittle of a machine for serious wrenchers, the warranty from Innova is dreadful and without a simple on the shelf exchange policy for broken units, they simply cannot be relied on for critical projects. At over $300, the PCB and plastic housing should at least be able to withstand being unused in a tool bag side pocket. Alas, not all PCB is created equal, nor all plastics and thus goes the 5610. I'll be replacing my unit with an Autel. Even if it's triple the price or more, I'm not dealing with a company that causes me headaches. It didn't last 6 months! Good luck.
Your vids are 5 star!! your voice is perfect. you dont tell jokes. you speed up where needed. no wasted time. Thanks so much.
My 5610 came with a 120 page manual, a non slip rubber protector, and a real nice carrying case!!!
Same here. Just got mine today and it's also now using a usbc port.

Awesome vid! Very informative & well explained INNOVA 5610
Live Data Plotting? Readiness Codes Status?
If you have a DTC, does it list what repairs may be required and their probabilities of success?

I found a used one for half the price. Can you link to your phone or is it a one time use for original owner?@dancewithml
Does this scanner have the ability to activate your fuel pump so you can empty out old gas through the fuel rail valve?

Great video question I saw that this scan tool performed misfire test does this mean each cylinder test including injectors as well I'll wait on your response thank you
Does this have a misfire counter per cylinder?
Does this do EGR Reset? On and off .? What about does this do Fuel Prwssure Test ? Fuel Pump ? Does this do Spark plugs ? Compression Test ?
No scanner in the world does spark plugs or a compression test both of those must be done manually
This has the ability to read live transmission fluid temperature data like the 5510, right?
One question,,, Will this show exactly which # cylinder is causing an engine misfire, or will it just give you a "random misfire code"?
that should be on every scanner, a p0300 would be a general misfire with specific cylinders as p0301 for cylinder 1, p0302 for #2 etc.
Abs blending?
Just got my 5610 so this was a great introductory video to get started.
Hope yours lasts, mine didn't.

Over $641 plus tax of 13% in Canada. Too expensive for us!
That is expensive, but then again I don’t know what other scanners go for in Canada.

Can I service the break pads on a BMW 21 with this scanner?
Depends on the severity of the break. It should do it though.
