If you use a hair dryer on medium heat on the curved areas and gently go over the contact paper with a microfiber cloth (from flat surface towards the floor), it will help smooth the paper.
ABSOLUTELY GREAT JOB!!!! You have the best countertop paper video on TH-cam hands down!!! Very thorough and honest! Your video gives anyone that's not sure the ability to make their decision!!! Thank You!
This was an awesome video,. Juat moved into an apartment where the show apartment is much different than the actual apartemtent you move into. Thanks for the video girl. YOU DID A GREAT JOB
Poke a needle in the middle of the air bubble and press down. You won’t see the small hole and the air will escape and it’ll flatten - if you see them after everything is laid out and it’s too late to pull it back again.
Did this to my counters almost 2 years ago and nothing has came up. It all all stayed put even didnt seal at the sink. Only have a small section where the contact paper faded in a small spot where I use the counter most often. Well worth the $6 ha ha I paid for the Contactpaper ( about 15 feet small kitchen) granite look. Using the bramd name Contact Paper Im sure made all the difference. Yours looks great. Hope it has held up well like mine.
Wow two years!? That’s awesome. I’m coming up on a year and they’re still holding up great I’m happy I did it even though it was hard haha can’t beat it for 6 bucks!
Good idea to use a staple gun! I just did my counters with contact paper and had this same problem. Thank you! I'll have to try the staple gun or the duck tape! Those curved corners were HARD!
Yeah I liked the staple gun a lot better. But the tape has been holding up almost a year later! Omg Don’t even get me started on those corners!! 🤣🤣 so hard
this was super helpful! my kitchen has the opposite problem it's oldfashioned white/cream and collects everything, i want to go black marble! this helped me visualize how to do it and what i can do differently. thanks so much! Also where did you get that spice rack, that's so cute!
Thanks! So far it’s held up great! No water damage and I never put a hot pot on the counter I put use a potholder under it to be safe. But any stains like pasta etc it wipes right up. It’s very durable I highly suggest. I love it.
Did the contact paper ever get ruined when u got it wet? My worry is I wash dishes and do a lot of projects on my counters. Will the contact paper hold
Not at all!! I’m pretty rough on my counters and they’ve held up really well. I have a whole video on a six month review if you want to check it out on my channel ☺️
Hey! No, I’ve had it for six months now and it’s still in great condition! I have an updated six month review video on my channel if you want to check it out. I go over the pros and cons!
Very Durable! I’ve had it on for six months now and I’m pretty rough moving things around and it’s held us nicely. I’m going to do a six month update video soon. So be on the lookout for that!
So I read online that contact paper attracts cockroaches. Have you had this problem? There are so many people on TH-cam that use it. I want to make sure before I do my countertops.
If you researched a bit before you did this, you would have seen other vids which use a blow dryer to stretch and form the plastic around edges and rounded corners.

Wow, thank you so much. That’s very generous of you. Really appreciate it!
Blow-dryer removes air bubbles.
Or a $20 heat gun

Thank you for sharing!! This is the only video I’ve found where the backsplash and countertop are one.
No problem! Glad you found it ☺️
It's better to start in the back of the counter and move forward. You won't notice the seam as much if it's facing the wall.

I like it . I was wondering about heat ? Would it melt if I sat a hot dish on it? I have never worked with contact paper before

It looks wayyyy better even with imperfections. A small island would look great in your kitchen
Thanks so much!! Oh I would love an island! Hahah
This is great. How many rolls did you use and how long did it take you?
Thanks! I used 8 rolls but I had some left over. I bought extra just incase. I could of bought 6. It took me two days:)
My 1969 built home has the same rectangular cutout. I was told it was for a built in KitchenAid type appliance that had interchangeable parts.
Wow, that’s really cool. I never knew that!
I feel like its making more crevices & cracks to trap food & yuckys. How is that so far?
This came out amazing! Good work and thank you for sharing❣️
Thank you so much!!
Can you tell the difference in the direction of the marble print from sideways to up and down ?
Thats a built in cutting board :)
A wallpaper smoother would work better than the credit card. They are not expensive .
Hello! How has it held up so far? any fails with water or heat? Looks great!

@@shonnabell19 that’s great! Thank you 😊
Hairdryer is good to use around curves &edges .
Does it withstand knife cuts?
Something tells me that I just answered my own question
I always use a cutting board! Just to be safe
Wow you have done a excellent work.nice .love from India 🙏
Thank you so much!
I think you did amazing 👏 💖 I just wanted you to use something different for the back splash 😉
I want to do this really bad but omg my counter has 5 curves!!! So very discouraging!!!
You have a lot of counter space though. Good job! Are you from MA? I noticed your Bob's card. 😆
Haha I’m from NY
I love vantage.

Love how there's an alternative for poor folks
You did a good job
Thank you!
Your kitchen looks great but I have a question will the contact paper be ruined if water or other liquids spill on it?
Hey! No, I’ve had it for six months now and it’s still in great condition! I have an updated six month review video on my channel if you want to check it out. I go over the pros and cons!
Look beautiful with the yellow.
The yellow was nice, but my house is all light grey so it was an eyesore. But with some people’s styles it does work nicely the yellow!
Thanks for sharing ❤️
You made it a lot harder than it had to be.
Great job.
Great work, love it.
Thank you!
great job!
The overlapped area might pose a problem at cleaning time
Looks great thanks for sharing
Nice job. Where did you get the spice caddy?
Thank you. Bed bath and beyond!
How is it holding up?
Great! I actually recently did an updated video. It’s on my channel ☺️☺️
Great Job ❤I Love it 👌
Thank you!
I have the cutting board I want it off before I do mine! Lol

@@shonnabell19 what about the water when you wash dishes does it affect it because my peel off with the water ?
@@sherryannkoylass5093 not at all!! I actually have a full review on my channel if you want to watch
@@shonnabell19 oh nice where can I view the video?
Good job!
Thank you!
I have the same cabinet in my house
Using a smoothing tool, not a credit card. It's bigger and easier.
New friend here, I enjoyed the video and love the kitchen upgrade. Hope we can connect
Thanks so much!! Just subscribed ☺️
Year later... How are they holding up??
I love 70
I will be grateful if you checked your email & Instagram DM
Just did this myself it is frustrating
I hear ya!

Oh wow! No I never heard of that. I haven’t had any issues and I hope I never do😂 that would freak me out lol
That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard.
🌹💪👍😉❤
Ugh this is the best I’d hate to see the worst. The work don on the curb was horrendous.
If you researched a bit before you did this, you would have seen other vids which use a blow dryer to stretch and form the plastic around edges and rounded corners.
I did but it seemed like a lot of work lol
@Joyce Burgin all the hardware shops in my country seem to have it
@Joyce Burgin I bought it off Amazon. But I have seen it in Target too
This isn't a great job.
