I have exactly the opposite problem it doesn't keep idle speed and this every time I am disconnecting the battery,.any ideas about how to increase the idle speed of the engine? I was told that after battery replacement I have to drive it for a few days so ecu self learn to keep idle and operate correct.
you can tap on the idle control valve as you can see in beginning of the video, if idle increased then that’s where the issue is. If not then clean the throttle body as shown in the video, this should fix the issue
Problem fixed, thought my intake doesn't have this idle control valve as yours I cleaned the throttle body and problem fixed even if it wasn't that dirty but enough to cause problems. Thanks for youe help.
Hi, in our case, the idle speed is disturbingly high (1600 RPM) only after the engine is cold started, and when the engine is already warmed up, it is 870 RPM. In such a case, what could be the problem? Thank you very much.
@@SamuelGNight it still can be the idle control valve sticking and not returning to its original position. You can try cleaning throttle body only and see if it makes any difference? Since it’s returning to 870 Other thing you can do tab on the idle control valve several times as you can see on the video, if idle drops even slightly then that’s your problem there
I had a problem with my tachometer showing low idle. Basically around 400 rpm Hooked up the scan tool and it was showing 650 when the tach was showing 400 so basically my tachometer is not a curate as when you turn off the car the needle sits a cm before 0
@@sultanbalaqi222 thanks for the update, do you notice engine RPM is low at all? Or it’s the tachometer showing 400RPM as you mentioned? You will definitely notice it if it’s idling low
Did our Swift today. Worked like a dream!

@3rminator yes the tach shows 400 without AC when actually it's at 650
Nice
