We upgraded to PE for $400 one way from DALto AUK which felt like a no brained for 15 hours. The first row had actual foot rests. I was able to get some sleep and the food wasn't to bad. The breakfast was actually surprisingly good. All in I would say it was worth the cost to upgrade and I would gladly do it again. The biggest plus may have been the 2-3-2 arrangement on our flight so we didn't have to sit by anyone.
I don’t agree Just did round trip from San Francisco to Heathrow Never had a flight like it before Gave us a menu Nothing on the menu 8:11 available When we complained Told we were lucky to be in world traveler plus As it was a free upgrade or we used air miles Which was untrue I paid $4000 for round trip The crew member laughed when I told him how much I paid A cup of tea took 57 mins My partner waited 90 mins for dinner They were cleaning the trays away when his dinner arrived My blanket smelt of human fecal matter I wrapped it up and put it in the restroom bin I definitely think i developed nostril ring worm from the blanket Which ruined my vacation The crew reply was You lucky to be in premium economy Demeaning me at ever point
Did the last row in PE recline as much as the other rows? Deciding between bulkhead and last row. Not sure if the lavatories by the bulkhead would be annoying with people standing by them etc.
It's WORTH it! On a Boeing 787 in ECONOMY, you're going to be sitting in a 3-3-3 configuration just like a 737 with someone (maybe you) in the MIDDLE SEAT.
Thanks for the video - I fly AA a fair bit only because the cities I fly out of and to are hubs, and I'd rather have a nonstop flight than make a connection on another airline. I'm planning a Dallas to Frankfurt trip in 2025, and I' considering the premium economy. It seems that for no other reason, the better seat, leg room and recline may be worth it on an overnight flight.
Not only the leg room but think about the Boeing 787 with the 3-3-3 configuration in Economy! Someone in a middle seat for 8 or 9 hours, just like a Southwest 737!!!
It's also sometimes worth looking at business flight prices from DUB. I recently flew DUB-LHR-BOS-JFK-LAX and back for around £1590 booked via BA - all in business.
I am considering upgrading to Premium Economy for my upcoming trip between LHR and MIA. It is a 10+ hour flight. One-way tickets are a bit expensive, I paid $750 for my trip. I have flown this route before in Business Class and even once in First Class. After purchasing the ticket, I checket my AA account and I was offered an upgrade to Premium Economy for $600, which would make my total cost be $1350. As an AA Frequent Flyer, I was able to book an upgraded coach seat and I have an aisle seat with extra legroom. But, I am wondering if the $600 is better spent elsewhere on my trip or if Premium Economy is worth the price. This video makes me think not, but 10 hours in coach makes me wonder.
Good review as always :-) I don't think it feels like a very "Premium" experience on AA. Do you have plans to cover United's Premium Plus, perhaps on LHR-EWR?
Thanks. United is on the list. But so far, I think the two British carriers (BA and Virgin) are both better than their US partners (American and Delta).
Really enjoyed your video! I flew in the same cabin a few weeks ago (and in the same seat) on their LAX to MIA route, but it was sold as economy and there was no meal service. Looks like you had a decent flight, but I'm not sure the service or seat warrant the price difference between this and economy.
Certainly VS Premium is better than AA. I flew VS Premium a couple of months ago. You can find the review here: th-cam.com/video/1OBKa8XiK1Y/w-d-xo.html

Oh I will
Now, this is what you call a well-done review. Wow!! The amount of details is amazing. Please make one for every single airline and different seats😅🎉

I really enjoy your videos. You provide great detail that is most helpful.
Glad you like them! Really appreciate the feedback 🙂
Really enjoy your videos. It’s about time I made a comment. Definitely BA over American for me. Thank you for videos keep them coming
Thanks for the comment 🙏 From the experience of both Premium Economy products, I am definitely in the BA camp too!
I don’t agree
Just did round trip from San Francisco to Heathrow
Never had a flight like it before
Gave us a menu
Nothing on the menu 8:11 available
When we complained
Told we were lucky to be in world traveler plus
As it was a free upgrade or we used air miles
Which was untrue
I paid $4000 for round trip
The crew member laughed when I told him how much I paid
A cup of tea took 57 mins
My partner waited 90 mins for dinner
They were cleaning the trays away when his dinner arrived
My blanket smelt of human fecal matter
I wrapped it up and put it in the restroom bin
I definitely think i developed nostril ring worm from the blanket
Which ruined my vacation
The crew reply was
You lucky to be in premium economy
Demeaning me at ever point

bro, your channel name is hilarious
:)
BA have got flights to NYC in Club for 1600 at the moment! Thank you for the review. Seems fairly meh compared to competitors..
Thanks for the info! That's a good price!

@@GLAFly cheap as chips!

meh I travel several 14 hours flight on economy every year. you can use that money on a better hotel or a spa when you arrive :)
Enjoyed watching this video, and I’d agree….BA is a bit better.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Was that a headless woman at 5:16?

@@DoorsToAuto I would agree with that based on your reviews!
I've never. seen your videos before. I'm glad. I came across it. Very well. done and explained. I will be. subscribing.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the ride! 🙏 In a competitive market, I’d say this isn’t the best product for the price.
I heard VS has a very good PE.

If paying cash, I'm not sure why anyone would choose this over Norse Atlantic premium economy.
London Gatwick rather than London Heathrow possibly?
Services sounds like aa
Indeed. I had a similar experience last year in AA Business Class.
25 years ago this would have been plain economy...
Indeed. I think ‘Economy Plus’ might be a better name. The larger seat was the main enhancement from standard Economy.
Seems overpriced
Agreed. For the price, I would have expected a slightly more upscale product. Although fast-track security was nice.
Looked pretty unsurprising definitely think the UK carriers offer a better product in all classes.
Certainly wouldn't chose AA over BA.
Yes, I’ve come to that conclusion in both Premium Economy and Business. Definitely the codeshare on BA is better.
