I love an unconventional staircase / house design. My mum house in Southend is amazing because its a normal sized house with 5 floors (3 half floors and 2 full floors) very interesting design. And my childhood house had a lobby, then a open plan living room that connected to the toilet, kitchen, front room and the stairs that curve up and around for the upstairs, this was a 1920s / 30s house and had very high ceilings which I liked

So on the ground floor we have 5 steps that go down to a small pantry and shower, then up 8 steps you come to a landing with a toilet that is above the pantry, then up another 8 steps you come to the 2nd floor with 3 bedrooms and then up 5 steps above the toilet and stairwell is a bathroom. I really like the design of this house, its a lot easier to understand from seeing it than reading but I hope this conveys the image!
We need a followup so we can see any changes that have been made, painting or renovations. Also to see how well utilized the space is. According to the lore, you could have renovated a perfectly good room for much effort and expense.
