What if 2017 3kliksphilip released a video here in 2023? Would people notice? What would be different? And why would it be such a bad idea? See the video here: • 2017 de_thera covered ...
im almost embarassed the possibility of it being an older video completely went over my head. I just smiled and nodded as you mentioned things like pulse servers, kennys, getright etc, although it was a slightly confused smile and nod
I didn't even notice the video was from 2017. Your style's remained pretty consistent, so seeing your older content isn't jarring like it may be for similar channels.
@@floriuszzTrue but only if you are looking for it. I've been watching him since 2016/17 but I didn't notice that it was an old video. I was just thinking like "Oh cool another video from philip" and I usually enjoy the information enough that I don't notice the music or jokes, or lack thereof, much at all and only now that I know it's an old video is it obvious to me. So yeah voice, music and jokes are all things different or missing entirely but his overall style has stayed pretty consistent to the point where if you don't really watch too closely you won't notice.
I also thought it was a new video and just wondered why he didn't put it in context explaining how it's an update for a csgo map but sadly now with cs2 no one's really playing it or something xD
I'm not a very long-time viewer; I've been here for ~1,5-2 years. Your content is amazing (congratulate your brothers 2kliklsphilip and 3kliksphilip as well) and it has always been! It's more polished now with fresh new ideas. My eyes do a 360 and walk away every time I hear someone accusing you of using AI (especially for the voice and the scripts). Most people don't understand that AI is just a series of calculations, performed one after the other, that is using derivative calculations to make the final result as close to the wanted one. It doesn't posses creativity, only imitates it. Your videos contain a spark, showing your passion about the subjects and feel transparent, almost as if we can see your personality from behind the script (which we can). I feel like your videos greatly influenced the way I write and structure sentences and gave me a whole new perspective on a hellallalot of things. Thank you, Philip (all three of you) for making this year brighter for us all! :)
@@eX1st4132 UHMMM ACKSHUALLY they didn't say degrees, so it's radians, and 360 radians is around 106.5 degrees, which is just over a quarter of a circle, so they would be walking away, albeit not the complete opposite direction. Literally playable.
Philip, you have such a unique outlook on production. Not many have the thought to explain the process of their work in a behind the scenes-esque way on multiple channels, each with their own sense of identity. I absolutely love your content not only as a Counter-Strike fan, but as a regular viewer just learning more about what you have to offer. I'm proud of how far you have come over the years. I'm sorry Valve has been quite lackluster as of late on the CS front, I know 3kliks has been hurting for some good updates to cover. Stay strong, keep improving (even of it feels like you aren't, you are)
"too enthusiastic" this is too funny, that is the exact opposite reason to assume something is ai generated your content is consistent, you have mastered the way you say your scripts to a degree no other youtuber i know has, your microphone and processing on the microphone in audacity (assuming you still use that beaut) is essentially perfect, they are picking up on this as AI generated, what a great accidental compliment. never stop creating!
your videos of you talking about maps whether its a small update or entirely new map are my favorites. Santorini was a map i always saw on the workshop, but i had no idea it had an entire story tied to it. thank you for releasing it!
I listen to youtube in the background while I do other things, and that video (and this one) are no exception. I haven't played CS in years, but I still watch your content because I enjoy it, so I didn't even realize that that was an old video until I watched this one, but now I've gone back and re-watched it, and I can really see the difference in style now that it's been pointed out!
You can be informative and funny, though. My favorite joke of yours was when you discussed C shaped spawn positions and subtlety listed jumping of Vertigo as one of the possible ways to exit spawn.
I think I speak for the majority of your viewers when I say, you're one of the best content creators our niche has to offer. If it's CS or tech in general doesn't matter, I'll keep watching.
The video being from 2017 went right over my head, but that's probably because back in 2017 I had already quit playing CS and just watched your videos because I like your content, and now that I've came back to CS cause of CS2 I feel like a noob again and every CS video of yours has some novelty to it, like it used to back when I was learning the game in 2013 or so, so I think it just felt like new content to me.
Took me a bit to notice it was an older video, but once I noticed, I noticed how much better the videos have gotten since then and to that, I congratulate you as a lot of people get stuck in their ways and don’t try to improve
Your new content has really improved and I still watch after all these years despite 90% of my hours in Counter Strike being played between 2015-2017. I maybe play 20-30 hours a year at this point when I get the itch, but still watch your videos to keep up with the game. My all-time favorite CS series out of any TH-camr was your “Going Low in CSGO” series. Those videos are so entertaining and I find myself rewatching them over a decade after the fact.
I look back at them now as a time capsule of a game that has much improved since then, but a game that I enjoyed so much more in its raw and unrefined form. It was so entertaining to see someone intentionally lose in the most creative ways, but especially now with derankers and smurfs being much more common. You just can’t recreate what those videos represented in these times and they are truly one of a kind.
I definitely got the sense of nostalgia from watching the video in question. Funnily enough the timing of the de_thera release really got myself thinking about the old versions again and how much has changed. I am a real sucker for mapmaking related videos and your map showcase videos (altough very few and in between) have always been one of my faves! I love that you go so deep with actually talking with the mapmakers! The NEW-OLD santorini video was like a late Xmas present! Really fun little adventure it was!
I watched the video and felt like something was very off but wow, I'm impressed on the consistency you have had Philip throughout the years. Your narration, your choice of words and video editing have been pretty much spot on from start to finish.
The first thing I did yesterday when I woke up is watch that video on my phone and I honestly didn't notice it was from 2017 until I read the comments and description. Only then I noticed the graphics were from csgo rather than cs2.
Ive followed your channeles for a while and I can tell that following your insights on situations or life you sometimes give have also helped me introspect about mine. Never take a step doubting Philip, your content and opinions as subjective as they can be at times they give a fresh insight
I've watched your videos since 2009 from the cs:source days. Cannot really compare videos from that era to now but i find myself diving to the older videos of your more lately for the nostalgia. I still watch all your new videos. Quality has gone up a lot and i will probably watch videos from this year as nostalgic in 10 15 years. Keep up the good work.
Your video about juggling that I miraculously found a couple of years ago made me learn how to juggle and I had quite a few moments of pure joy catching the colourful balls. I would be juggling up till this moment if back pain did not kick in ruining my life. Your juggling video is a gift. Re-uploading it will definitely be received well.
Having watched the Santorini video without reading the description, it makes so much more sense now. I thought the vintage pro players were there as something of a Philips joke
I have been so disconnected with Counter Strike lately that I had no idea fmpone had made another map. The video definitly gave me some weird deja vu feeling since it was an old video made by one of my oldest favourite youtubers about one of my favourite old csgo maps, which itself was made by one my oldest favourite map makers. Content has definitly improved tho
Very glad i decided to subscribe to kilksphilip and 2kliksphiliph however many years ago. Always fascinating hearing you talk about your experiences like this.
i cant lie i just watched the video in full thinking it was normal. Your old videos still serve as background noise for me so that could be the reason.
Don't listen to the haters. You're doing great. I always enjoy watching your videos and I think the quality of your content is top notch. The other day I went to 2kliksphilip to rewatch S.H.I.T advice and I think it still holds up well, even though your content quality clearly improved since then. I usually just lurk but the people commenting about you using AI or your video quality lowering are so ridiculous that I had to comment.
The AI voice part was a great laugher for me! Also, I just like listen to your voice while drawing and stuff. Please, never stop.. (maybe give AI Philip a chance...)
philip calling ME a little shit was something i never thought would happen! it was a reference to a really old video of his where he talkrd about how a first dislike was always present seconds with in upload until he started doing it himself first
Damn, I didn't even notice that video was from 2017. I just watched it and thought, yep another entertaining kliksphilip video. Glad you're consistent.
I saw the video during the height of my holiday flu and I can't overstate the amount of confusion I got from it in my feverish state (i didnt read the description of course) It DID, however, make me feel very cozy, because 2017 was the first year I started watching Philip and playing CSGO so its a very nostalgic style. great improvement phil!
i didnt even realize it was an old video, i knew something felt different but i never for a second considered that it had just been old af. Guess im an AI viewer now.
IDK if you'll read this or not but I just wanna say thank you for introducing me to your music. It has a certain calmness. I find myself at peace whenever I listen to it. In fact I listen to your music a lot when I want to feel at peace. You are one of the TH-camrs featured in my 'Creators I love' section on my channel. I dedicate that spot to creators I feel do amazing work.
I think the biggest thing that stood out for me (aside of the jarring difference between how CSGO and CS2 maps look) was your voice. Something about it being slower, especially towards the beginning? I am not English and although I think my english is pretty good for someone who isn't English, there is a lot that goes over my head. Like... I understand the words, but a lot of references are lost on me without me even realizing it. I was probably one of the few who, when watching your recent video about your vertical screen layout was like... weird flex but okay, haha. Anyways, I forgot the point I was trying to make, have a great day Philip.
When I watched that video, it did feel a bit more aged then your latest videos. I honestly don't mind, I also enjoy both the educational format and the goofy silly videos. Been watching for a long time, it is always a good time when I get your videos recommended. No matter if it takes a bit longer for you to upload
Axe throwing looks fun! 3:58 Can confirm: you will. As with any skill/trade out there you will improve subtly and eventually your newer stuff will seem completely different to the old. Does not mean either is worse or better, just different.
I'm watching you since 2021 and i can definitely say that you definitely gradually changed your video style and topics for better. I hope you will produce better and more better content in future!
As far as informative content vs entertainment focused content goes I subscribed to you for hammer tutorials like 15 years ago. Actually it was the fake DMM video, so, literally 15 years ago. Holy hell.
I mean releasing this video of a very old/outdated version on one of the biggest CS:GO channels, when FMPONE just released a new version of it, will probably (and has?) lead to many people confusing it with each other. So i can imagine FMPONE not being super happy about it. But maybe I am wrong. For me, I am very happy you decided to release the old video, happy new year phillip :)
I cankt believe I didn’t notice.. I just assumed that we were talking about historical events, and that they wanted to give the GO version of the map the final update before releasing the CS2 remake
Excellent video as always. It took me until halfway through to realize that you were referencing the video released on another channel instead of being perpetually about to show it. I kind of prefer them more behind the scenes stuff personally because I'm not super interested in Counter-Strike anymore, and I'm really unhappy with valves decisions on CS2 especially by making CS:GO unplayable....
i was a bit inebriated and ive been watching since probably 2017, and i had a period where i would watch older 3kliks videos multiple times, they were comfy for some reason. so it wasn't until the clips of get right on old inferno that i was like "hold on a second, a second somethings off here" lol
I love these introspective videos. I know its mostly jus pure parasociality, but I feel like I know Phil, at least enough to really feel bad for him when he gets mean comments, or I notice a video seems to not be getting as many views as it should.
I watched that video without even realising it was an old one. I only asked myself why would he update a map for CSGO. I didn't noticed because the content was quite technical and well prepared, that it was the most importat think when watching that video. The voice sound or other minor aspects of the video editing didn't matter, for me it was just the content itself, which means it was a good video.
I was really confused with the 2017 video, since the topic was so out of left field and you sounded overly cheery throughout compared to modern kliksphilip. It was still a very interesting video now that the context has kinda changed.
i understand the frustration about being accused of AI making things, and it is one of the many reasons AI "art" is such a problem, aside from all the well known and understandable issues it has itself, it's mere presence creates distrust in people. everything you do can be faked in some way, from deepfakes to AI scripts to AI voice generation and so much more, and people try to be vigilant about such stuff because being tricked into thinking it is real is not a fun feeling, and can (in certain circumstances) lead to harmful consequences, so they accuse everything slightly odd as a sign of something being wrong. a misguided paranoia maybe, but one that exists for good reason, because a lot of things have been turned into AI slop. "art" and personalities, yes, but more importantly information. many search engine results are filled with AI-generated pages full of keywords or AI-generated articles with wrong info, even physical books, written by AI and published using self-publish sites, now exist and fool people. AI is simply the newest and biggest form of scam, and that scared people i think you in particular probably has it worse than most, because you've used AI and have talked openly about AI in various ways that arent all negative, which makes people associate you with AI content in some form, so the accusations come quicker
People's fear of AI generated content is annoying to see. It seems that because many people can't tell them apart easily most of them just call anything that looks/sounds slightly off as "AI generated" when it's just like a small imperfection in visuals or audio.
Most surprising to me was how many people apparently don't read video descriptions. I mean, on channels that copy-paste the same wall of links and cruft underneath each video I can understand skipping it, but your descriptions actually have content in their content.
I just had an idea. Make a new Cluckspholop channel then reupload videos there so people can call Clucks a content thief 😂 Also thanks for your videos during this not so festive time of year for me. Your voice and content gives me a very much needed break from the problems in my life. Its peak escapism. Thanks Klicks ❤
Wouldn't it be funny if Philip specifically AI generated his voice for the lines which speak of his frustration with his work getting accused of having been AI generated? I jest, I jest. ...Unless O_O
For some reason everytime you talk about your past I think about your video where you talked about not wanting to take csgo gamble site ads with the spyro gameplay. That's one of my Philip nostalgia videos for sure
I was so confused watching that video. And I also had a thought in my mind that maybe you used AI to voice it just to mess with people. But then I read the description and it all kliked. You have definitely grown a lot with your narration, I wouldn't have watched videos like that today, but I watch basically all of your recent content.
Quick constructive point: using a quick disclaimer to contextualize the video, instead of putting it in the description, would have made it less jarring in the upload timeline. Even though I read the description, I read it after the video, spending the length of the video confused. Likewise, I think some fraction of the AI comments are some fellow confused viewers. Thus, some context on the beginning may reduce the amount of AI comments.
If in the future you find yourself reviewing sequels, it could make a fun video idea to compare how you've changed between your previous review. I often watch old reviews for games if I'm prepping to play their sequels and I rewatched your talos principle videos just last month before playing the recent sequel and it was a similar jarring experience to compare between that and your current video approach. Picking out those differences can generally be difficult, especially when the content of the video can be so drastically different as to inform what you can review in the first place. While its kinda rare, I think one of the best insights into the evolution of a creator's video production is when a reviewer is able to both review an original game and their sequel in their respective time periods. It's been cool to go back to the youtubers that have survived the time skip and watch the two reviews for both alan wake or both psychonauts games. I guess I'm saying you should play and make a review for Talos Principle 2. At the very least you'll get a different type of discussion on AI in the comments.
I thought you had purposefully made this video on the style of one of your older videos as a video to prepare for a full thera video. Until I read the description I thought it was a really meta move to show how your content and CS mapmaking has changed.
I believe the reason people call your content ai generated, is because your style of making videos and talking aren’t very different between videos. Just how ai generates anything in almost the exact same way, but personally this is the reason i like your videos, they give me a nice cozy feeling that is reassuring in a world which changes so fast.
I have to be honest, I expected this to be you reviewing some sort of message you left for yourself. I was one of the people who got some reason didn't catch on to the age of the video, and I was mildly surprised to find out that It already seen the contents of the time capsule. I't's a funny thing, I started following you in 2017, just after the end of Operation Hydra, so by happenstance I was unfamiliar with Santorini and therefore the age of the video. I figured It'd just been a map fmpone had been working on just prior to cs2, and that you were cataloguing the progress it had made before he was forced to port it. PS: it's funny to see that people still comment about "beating you" by being the first dislike on your videos instead of you. It's such a childish comment, but also such an old reference to your channel.
im almost embarassed the possibility of it being an older video completely went over my head. I just smiled and nodded as you mentioned things like pulse servers, kennys, getright etc, although it was a slightly confused smile and nod

Weird 2024 idea: Animated remakes of old videos like How to Eat Like Me, but with community fans as artists.
i was actually hoping for a video like this about the recent 3kliks upload, its cool to hear your thoughts on it. great stuff
i though it was odd i felt like i was watching an old video but it was a new post
As far as informative content vs entertainment focused content goes I subscribed to you for hammer tutorials like 15 years ago. Actually it was the fake DMM video, so, literally 15 years ago. Holy hell.
1:32 That's exactly what an AI would say!
People that say your voice is AI generated obviously havent ever heard an AI generated voice.
but even though those videos have changed I still love this channel all the same
I cankt believe I didn’t notice.. I just assumed that we were talking about historical events, and that they wanted to give the GO version of the map the final update before releasing the CS2 remake
2017 was prime time for csgo. Miss it very much
I actually did not even realize that csgo video was from 2017. I thought it was about the csgo map for some reason and just went along with it lmao
Love you philip
i was a bit inebriated and ive been watching since probably 2017, and i had a period where i would watch older 3kliks videos multiple times, they were comfy for some reason. so it wasn't until the clips of get right on old inferno that i was like "hold on a second, a second somethings off here" lol
2017 was, in fact, NOT 6 years ago and you can't convince me otherwise because the idea scares me a little.
just please never stop making videos the way you want
I didn’t even notice that the csgo video was made in 2017 I was so confused at all the outdated stuff and graphics in it
I love these introspective videos. I know its mostly jus pure parasociality, but I feel like I know Phil, at least enough to really feel bad for him when he gets mean comments, or I notice a video seems to not be getting as many views as it should.
Hmm, I wonder how many people, like me, didn't even notice the video was old...
I thought this video was the time capsule and thought I was going insane when you started talking about AI like it was the current thing in 2017
kliksphilip lore do be getting deep
Never thought mr kliks would be a fellow b1m fan :D
Honestly i did not read description but YES the video did feel old and... kind of cozy in some way.. For some reason.
Truly Evergreen content
I watched that video without even realising it was an old one. I only asked myself why would he update a map for CSGO. I didn't noticed because the content was quite technical and well prepared, that it was the most importat think when watching that video. The voice sound or other minor aspects of the video editing didn't matter, for me it was just the content itself, which means it was a good video.
It's crazy how 2017 was over 6 years ago
I was really confused with the 2017 video, since the topic was so out of left field and you sounded overly cheery throughout compared to modern kliksphilip. It was still a very interesting video now that the context has kinda changed.
man i love you philip
2:16 great soundtrack.
youre on my top 3 youtuber list
i understand the frustration about being accused of AI making things, and it is one of the many reasons AI "art" is such a problem, aside from all the well known and understandable issues it has itself, it's mere presence creates distrust in people.
everything you do can be faked in some way, from deepfakes to AI scripts to AI voice generation and so much more, and people try to be vigilant about such stuff because being tricked into thinking it is real is not a fun feeling, and can (in certain circumstances) lead to harmful consequences, so they accuse everything slightly odd as a sign of something being wrong. a misguided paranoia maybe, but one that exists for good reason, because a lot of things have been turned into AI slop. "art" and personalities, yes, but more importantly information. many search engine results are filled with AI-generated pages full of keywords or AI-generated articles with wrong info, even physical books, written by AI and published using self-publish sites, now exist and fool people. AI is simply the newest and biggest form of scam, and that scared people
i think you in particular probably has it worse than most, because you've used AI and have talked openly about AI in various ways that arent all negative, which makes people associate you with AI content in some form, so the accusations come quicker
So that's why I thought I've seen that video before...
calling that random commentor "a little shit" with so much venom really caught me off guard
People's fear of AI generated content is annoying to see.
It seems that because many people can't tell them apart easily most of them just call anything that looks/sounds slightly off as "AI generated" when it's just like a small imperfection in visuals or audio.
This is what failing a perception check looks like irl
I bloomin love the song at 2:45
Hahah I love how people are soooo confident. "It's fmp-one" when it absolutely isn't.
Most surprising to me was how many people apparently don't read video descriptions. I mean, on channels that copy-paste the same wall of links and cruft underneath each video I can understand skipping it, but your descriptions actually have content in their content.
I still think Old Phil looks like Bootleg Sean Connery
I just had an idea. Make a new Cluckspholop channel then reupload videos there so people can call Clucks a content thief 😂 Also thanks for your videos during this not so festive time of year for me. Your voice and content gives me a very much needed break from the problems in my life. Its peak escapism. Thanks Klicks ❤
Wouldn't it be funny if Philip specifically AI generated his voice for the lines which speak of his frustration with his work getting accused of having been AI generated?
I jest, I jest.
...Unless O_O
Good idea
I hope these channels stand the test of time, especially with how CS2 is performing atm
For some reason everytime you talk about your past I think about your video where you talked about not wanting to take csgo gamble site ads with the spyro gameplay. That's one of my Philip nostalgia videos for sure
everything is AI cleary
even the subscribe button and like button
I was so confused watching that video. And I also had a thought in my mind that maybe you used AI to voice it just to mess with people. But then I read the description and it all kliked. You have definitely grown a lot with your narration, I wouldn't have watched videos like that today, but I watch basically all of your recent content.
why does everyone think everything is AI generated :(
Luv u big Phil keep doin what you're doin xx
I thought it was a satirical video that was made to feel like it was old on purpose lol
I thought you had purposefully made this video on the style of one of your older videos as a video to prepare for a full thera video. Until I read the description I thought it was a really meta move to show how your content and CS mapmaking has changed.
I actually also thought I had seen this video before
I love your videos, please never let peoples words who call your lovely work AI generated get too close to you
I believe the reason people call your content ai generated, is because your style of making videos and talking aren’t very different between videos. Just how ai generates anything in almost the exact same way, but personally this is the reason i like your videos, they give me a nice cozy feeling that is reassuring in a world which changes so fast.
people calling everything AI is the new 2020s equivalent of people calling everything CGI back then.
3:30 TV channels put out old stuff all the time
i am now a micro youtube comment celebrity 👌🔥💯
