The dynamic lighting in Iceland is really impressive, it looks like they've taken a lot of inspiration from Skyrim in their level design. They could perhaps do with a bit more foliage and to clear up the in-game currency though.
hello!!! i am an icelander thank you so much for visiting our country :D i am so glad you enjoyed your stay and iceland's hospitality (and ritz crackers!)
I'm from Iceland. When I went to Germany to meet my girlfriends family I spent hours just staring at the sheer amount of forests along the autobahn. And I may have seemed crazy but the first thing I wanted to do was to go into the forest behind their house. Once they visited Iceland I'm sure they understood.
You were in Iceland at the exact same time I was! It’s surreal to see locations in this that I visited a day or two if not same day I saw it. It’s like revisiting! Glad you shared the sentiments I did about the country! Absolutely breathtaking
I used to date a girl who studied nordic languages and cultures at university, fell love with Icelandic language, then moved there and has been living there for like 8 years. I've heard it's a wonderful place.
I've always wanted to go to there, it's always been a place I've been fascinated with They seem like a really cool people, if I could move to anywhere in Europe, then I'd probably choose there :o
@@sandwich2473 you have the means to do pretty much anything. Me and my family got stopped by the 2010 eruption when we were supposed to go home to Sweden after vacation in Thailand. We flew for a tiny bit and then had to most of it by buss, we did get to stay for free in Greece for a few days which was kinda cool, before we got to continue on the busses untill the skies were clear enough for us to quickly fly over the Baltic sea.
When were you there? I almost just got back from Iceland, I was there from the 3rd to the 8th and saw a bunch of the same stuff you did and even lived RIGHT next to the indoor swimming pool you visited in Reykjavík.
@@kliksphilipthis is such a coincidence dude, I am in Iceland right now, I am coming back today but I arrived on the 10th. Such a fantastic country and Reykjavík is a wonderful place. Highly recommended for all to visit, in either the winter to see the stunning frozen waterfalls and glaciers or in the summer to see what lies beneath the snow and ice. The lava caves were a real highlight and the local food tours.

Always wondered why the Icelandic people we met on a walk were impressed by the trees height. All the foliage and wildlife in Dorset seemed extremely mid-tier/unnoteworthy to me, they weren't exactly giant redwoods, so was definitely confusing at the time.
As someone from Iceland, kinda nodding that you mentioned the dangers are explained (mainly for the beach), yet people aren't going after them, I think 2-3+ people died in 2019? Wave swallowed them and couldn't rescue them/too dangerous and yes, they were tourists, definitely got the 'where is the best place to see the northern lights?' question dozen of times in the winter when I worked at a gas station
Actually, Iceland used to be covered with trees. 25% to 40% covered in trees. Then humans happened. They didn't use it to build houses because they used it all for building boats and turning into charcoal. And sometimes just removed it to make room for more livestock. Unfortunately the whole deforestation thing has by now caused huge amounts of topsoil to erode away.
I got back from my holiday in Iceland today. Was wondering why they use so much corrugated metal on their buildings. Did you do the south coast tour as well as the golden circle?
The corrugated metal is used to protect the buildings for water leakage and is probably the best protection for the heavy rainy storms every winter, it can sometimes rain non-stop for 12 months. Snow is rare in the south part of Iceland.
The dynamic lighting in Iceland is really impressive, it looks like they've taken a lot of inspiration from Skyrim in their level design. They could perhaps do with a bit more foliage and to clear up the in-game currency though.
The game only runs in 1080p and it's extremely laggy running at only 20-25 fps. It also has no story which is bad in my opinion
Good joke yes yes
