I use the exact method to upgrade my trinity from RGH 2 to RGH 3 and the boot times are so much better. Highly recommend anyone who is still using RGH 2 to do this upgrade. Great video and btw you forgot to blur out the CPU key at 11:15
Good looking out! Absolutely on the upgrade, another worthwhile upgrade if you want to keep the chip is to RGH 1.2, however I just opted to remove the chip entirely.
My first attempt to convert RGH1 to RGH3 did not got so well. After removing the chip the Trinity had no lights at all, not even power to USB controller. I tried the original dump, nothing. I gave it one last inspection, I noticed via pad FT4R2 was lifted from the old wiring. I did some searching and found a post that talked about jumping C5R11 and R4D4 to fix this. After hunting down some pictures my trinity is back up and running, RGH3 boots great.
if i had a slim id totally try this, but my rgh 1.2 jasper instaboots everytime, however like you said only 1 in 10 or maybe like 1 in 50 times it just doesnt boot, its kinda weird and makes me get up to reach the power button on the console itself
Mr.Mario i did this and it worked i get better boot times (5-6sec) better than AceV3 my board is Corona with post fix adaptor thank you so much much love
I actually find removing the top and bottom pieces that you say are the hardest part for you very easy. I guess maybe it's because I've done it so many times. Getting the two halves apart, on the other hand, I find much harder, at least until recently when I saw how you do it.
Hey @MrMario2011 i am planning on getting my self an Xbox 360 Falcon version that already has an RGH and i would love to know if you have any videos that are focused on un-RGH-ing Xbox-es, as of now i don't have any OG backup files from the OG owner/modder and i am worried if i decide to do an RGH V3 mod that I'll brick the system or even worse kill the Xbox 360😟😟😟😟

So what happens if I already have a modded 360E console with Aurora and games already installed on the HDD. What happens with those games? Will I loose those? Do i need to set up a clean instalation of Aurora? Or the glitch does'n affect the existing Aurora distribution & games?
Hey, thanks MrMario. My RGH2 trinity was often taking 10 minutes to boot. I used your tutorial to convert to RGH3 without a nand flasher. Now it boots in 6 seconds consistently. And I am happy that I did an extremely clean job with my soldering. I forgot to clear my flux though. Will that cause problems or I could just leave it for the next 3-4 years and then clean it with my next thermal paste change?
Congrats! Wonderful feeling, right? As for flux - best practice is to clean it up, plenty of people will tell you what could go wrong, especially if you used something corrosive like plumbers flux! However in my own experiences, I've forgotten to clean flux a handful of times and left it for years. It will look messy, but has still worked later on. I'd lean more towards spending another 20-30 minutes to get it ripped apart and cleaned up properly. Peace of mind that way!
@@MrMario2011 it is indeed nice to have an xbox booting in 6 seconds than usually waiting severel minutes. Yeah, i should probably clean the flux. It has been occupying my mind for a few days now. You don't seem to have a video on this.
Didn't have any plans for that, however if you need to do that: only do so with a NAND programmer you can solder in. Dump NAND, make sure you have CPU key, then build an image as "Retail" with "Clean SMC" checked.
@@MrMario2011 Thats the thing i don't have the cpu key, lets say you brought an rgh'd xbox but it won't boot so you need to go retail first in order to diagnose

Hello. I have glitch chip installed just like you (wired) and I want to completely remove it and get back to stock. Do I need to repair NAND as well or what is the procedure in this case? Kind regards
Hi Mario, i have xbox 360 corona running rgh 2 and dashboard version is 2.0.16xxxx, i tried updating but getting error, would like to ask if i follow the same steps mentioned in the video where i jrunner we are selecting the latesh firmware will it upgrade my dashboard automatically? if not then how can i update the dashboard becuase when i try to update i am getting below error: 3f4b 4497 1301 0300 c800 0036
If my current corona rgh is having boot issues and freezing issues after about 10 minutes sitting on the dashboard would upgrading to rgh3 help those issues at all?
So i just confuse about which version of xbox 360 rgh to choose. Can you give a recommendation for which version of xbox 360 rgh is the best? I mean it about which one is easy to use and more durable and last long
Hey Mario, this is a very nice tutorial but I gotta ask something. How come this is a RGH 3 conversion instead of a RGH 1.2 conversion? You would only need to change one I2C wire to PLL, remove the other I2C wire, and reprogram the glitch chip. It would be a lot less work than converting to RGH3.
It was fun to do and I've had this question several times from folks wanting to upgrade to RGH3. Amount of work would have been about the same either way since I would still have to scrape PLL, rewire chip, reflash the chip, and update the NAND for SMC+
@@MrMario2011 In fact, not by my own efforts: before the previous owner decided to test his strength in soldering. All I have to do is run licensed games and no more
They rarely break, but if it is broken? If the console works fine with stock NAND and your wiring and joints are all good, the glitch chip could be the problem.
