  • LAWLESS is available now on Digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD.
They were brothers who became outlaws, and outlaws who became heroes... The three Bondurant boys (Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke), along with their sultry new hire (Jessica Chastain), command the most lucrative bootlegging operation in Franklin County, Virginia. The locals consider them “indestructible.” But the law-in the form of a corrupt special deputy (Guy Pearce)-wants a cut of their action, at any cost. When youngest brother Jack (LaBeouf) gets a taste of power with a deadly gangster (Gary Oldman) the whole business blows sky high. Based on the astonishing true story, the Bondurant brotherhood is the stuff of legend.
Directed by John Hillcoat. Written by Nick Cave. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman.

Tom Hardy is a cinematic god with a line as simple as "have you met Howard" and the slowness in which he raised his coffee cup so much of the story is conveyed. Hardy the Daniell Day-Lewis of our time, had DDL been willing to take a multitude of roles.

Greatest movie about the back woods bootleggers ever produced. Tom Hardy nailed his part, the calmness and the staring into your eyes like he was looking directly through your skull. The mild tone of his voice with the stare was what I also perfected in life crossing the paths of individuals not so likely to be of the friendly nature and they always seemed to back down. Now that I am 60 years of age, I have perfected it being there are so many punks thinking they are "King-of-the-Hill" when in actuality they find out after crossing paths with me they have a much high hill to climb to even get close to the top. I've always enjoyed confronting punks and always will. In my neck of the woods, it's how the successful stay successful.

Tom Hardy is a top shelf actor! He has this presence and aura around him that shouts out to you, but in silence if you know what I mean! The rest of the cast is also very strong with excellent actors like Guy Pierce and the come of age Shia Lebouef. They both command attention and can hold a audience as well. Imagined being in that era and having to do whatever it takes to survive must've been a tough life! Life expectancies back then was about 50yrs old for the majority. Harsh environments make harsh people!

I'm not sure if the life expectancy was that old. There are still people and places around the country that aren't much different today then what it was back then.

Not even enemies. Just different sides of the law. The sheriff could come by for gas later as long as he behaved himself.

Tom Hardy is one of my favourite actors. This is one of his best characters IMO. The best character he plays is Alfie Solomons from Peaky Blinders. Dudes a brilliant actor
