  • The Enneagram Type 1 is striving to feel perfect. They see the world through right vs. wrong, good vs. bad, and what needs to be fixed. Type 1's tend to avoid any situation where they might be criticized for doing it "wrong."
The Enneagram Type 6 is striving to feel secure. When that lens is being used, they see the world through risks, threats, and what might go wrong. They tend to avoid any situation that would leave them feeling unprepared and without a plan.
These two types are common "look-alikes" that can get confused because of their preference for a good plan, their focus on the common good (vs. what's best for themselves), and their desire to "get it right."
While those behaviors might look similar, what the feeling need behind each of them is very different.
When you watch the video here you'll get additional insights into some of those key differences that include:
one right way vs. multiple ways
what it looks like to worry about doing it right
what happens when things go wrong
and the supporting and neglected type for each is that may offer clues into common challenges
