But there will be times when your confidence takes a knock, right? It is common to feel like you wish your confidence was better. Whilst other things that are out of control may impact your confidence such as other people, it is important to know which things you are in control of and how you can prevent yourself from destroying your own confidence.

True, sometimes I find that setting the bar low helps me loosen up a little. I tend to break easily under pressure. Especially when you're a performer, it's a really tense feeling when you're chasing perfection all the time, and the nerves end up melting you. You have no idea how liberating it can be sometimes to hit the stage with an "I dont care" attitude. Haha it brings out the best in you.

People have to believe the social media comparison is so real... my friend tells me how 'social' I seem because of my posts, then I call her and start to pour out all the misfortunes I happen to be facing this month... how the icecream with the cute rabbit face she saw made her think I was living such a happy life just to tell her that it was my breakfast, lunch and dinner that day... she tells me that I am 'so motivating' for always going for a run in my stories, I tell her that after each run I succumb into depression which is supposed to feel the opposite but that's how much life had been bad on my end (I even have self-affirmation notes all over my bathroom mirror). Just went live yesterday for the first time telling my followers transparently that I was not okay and their surprising support was the reason I'm still here.
Not everything seems the way it actually is. Thank you, I had to understand it myself, too. I did not know that ruminating 24/7 was the reason of my dread.

I struggle with making meaningful conversations. All my classmates are laughing and chatting and I pretend to be on my phone cuz I dont know what to say. I feel so pressurised to talk to other teenagers my age. Lately, I've been taking other people's opinions too seriously. Ik they are joking and that's what friends do and that I have to just laugh it off. But I cant do that. I feel so embarrassed and I keep thinking abt it for the whole day. But here rn, i make a promise that I'll be my confident self. I'll be proud of who I am and acknowledge my strengths. I'll also put myself out there more often instead of gluing myself to the phone

I have found that recognizing the things you are not good at and being OK with that makes a huge difference. Because that does 2 things: accepting yourself for what you are not good at (rather than beating yourself up for not being good at everything), and recognizing the things you ARE good at and feeling better about being good at those things.

I think this is easier said than done. There's more underlying stuff going on in a person with low self-confidence. It doesn't help that we live in a society where the goodlooking, the rich, the talented, the ones with connections are most valued and prized, which contributes to the problem. You can virtue-signal all you want, but that's the real truth.

I came to watch this, as I didn't have a lot of confidence in myself, but it reminded me of a video that I'm gonna watch, and I know it will help. A lot of this, is me to a T. I'm not happy with myself. And I'm trying my best to work on it. If anyone reads this, and you're not confident in your abilities. Read this, and take it to your heart, if u want to. Give yourself some credit for once. Believe me, I have trouble with this, too. I was playing a game earlier, and a person who helps you out on your journey asks "Are you certain I'm the man for the job, sir?" And I always think, "Yes, you're uniquely qualified," and so are you! Positivity IS THE KEY to the lock that is called Mental illness. REMEMBER THAT, above all else! Being in a positive mindset really helps out, sometimes.

Because thats hard especially when your young to seem to have people just ignore you and seem to not like you or care for you. Thats too much to take mentally oon a young mind.

I'm confident, until the teachers start shaming me because of my grades.

2 years ago i met Psych2Go and at the same time i went up to the next grade on my Senior Highschool years. I had found that i'm lack of confidence, so instead of thinking about it, i went to youtube to find a solution that can maybe solve my problem. And that's the first time i met this channel. I listened one of those videos that talks about confidence problem. At first i can only relate and understand a few points, but as time goes on, i having various experiences in my life, and finally came back to this video again. I realize that now i can relate and understand almost of the points, especially the first one, where we shouldn't care too much about what other people think about us. Seeing the first point, i realize that me in the present started to not care much about what people think about me, i did the things i want to, and now can accept myself, my own weakness and my strenght. Thank you Psych2Go, i'll be back one day to watch your videos again, to check and also comparing the old self me with the new me.
    Forgive my grammar :'

This might not be seen, but I would love to see a video on the topic of confidence and ADHD. Not beingconfidence when you are neurodivergent (and have spent your childhood undiagnosed) can feel different than this list. For example, people with ADHD tend to talk a lot about what they like, and can't read social cues until someone tells them to stop, which often leads to rejection sensitivity. Also, when you are overthinking what you did or didn't do with ADHD, it can come with hyperfixating on it and when you know you are, you can't stop because this is what the brain is focused on.

Honestly, each and every point mentioned in the video is relatable. From now on I'll work on myself to build confidence. Thank you for making wonderful videos on such topics

I can relate to number 8. Sometimes I just feel like I don't deserve it and that they just say it to make me feel better. My biggest fear is getting something I don't deserve.

I compared myself a lot to others mostly after I moved to a new place and started having social Media. Which completely destroyed my self esteem. I suddenly became more quieter and less out going. First because I wasn’t familiar with the new language. But also cause I couldn’t relate with other students. It felt so different from what I was used to. School felt suffocating and I hated it as I grew up. I was signed as the quiet kid. I distracted myself with those lonely emotions through watching videos. I had no confidence in myself, without realising time quickly flew by. Suddenly in 8th grade I had find a apprenticeship. I had to find a place to work at. I had to think of what I wanted to do in the future. I had no clue what to do. At last moment I chose to go to an Art school, cause I was interested in Art and I loved drawing. After next week I am gonna finish my Art school. I have met so many great and amazing people. Whom I aspire to be. I had fun and self reflected on myself. My mindset changed a little. I became more confident in myself and I also made some amazing friend’s, who had similar goal and mindset as me. I learnt to be more grateful of those around me and care for me. Though still today I do compare myself to others and am hate myself at times. But I am trying to be better. I am trying to take time to know myself and care for myself more. I am very thankful for everyone that spent time and supported me through all the years. So I am going to try hard to reach my goals and pay them back for supporting me. I want to try to get out of my comfort zone and do all the thinks, which I hesitated and didn’t do in the past.

On number 9 about ruminating, I had a tough story where aI had a panic attack cause my dad told me that my opportunity on communicating with random female peers is right there! I dressed pretty well during my back-to school shopping, but it sucks that I missed the opportunity and replayed the negative things and saying "I've should've done this, she's not worth my time", "I'm a loser! Wahhh!" etc. It only took me anout a few minutes to understand that it's not a big deal and I should be proud of my missed opportunity because it's never too late to miss your opportunity! And this video helped me a lot on understanding that that the most confident people we know today xan be put down easily. And now I understand that I'm a human being and I'm still growing up and I got a long life ahead of me! So please ya'll if u feel the same way, don't end up to a trap that I set up.
