Like how you might scream if someone jumps out in front of you when you aren't expecting it. They thought it was the most boring thing until he bent the Legos and it was so unexpected to them because they love building with Legos but didn't know about "illegal" building techniques before this video. I laughed because it was the silliest thing to scream about.

@@bdawg5855 yes true and I just discovered this channel I think I've watched 4 maybe 5 videos now obligatory welcome to channel from someone I'm sure.
But also I am not someone that would called certain building techniques illegal.
And also as far as illegal building techniques go.
To those in the know and the ones that are not typically what is causing the illegal building technique would be considered by Lego that is not permitted to be used in an official set since possibly could damage either right away or over time or reduce undue stress on Lego parts or could lead to eventual failure that sort of thing.
Although at one time certain techniques were allowed at least years and years ago it was a lot more common.
For example putting some play vertically between the studs of another brick!
Which what seems like eons ago would have been ok in an official set!
However nowadays it's considered a nut go by Lego themselves.
However in my mind if it works and it's not bad enough that could definitely result in damage or at least in the short-term I'm okay with it.
Besides it's a bit like saying that you can't build a certain way with Lego even though it's physically possible to do so.
Also saying that would be stifling creativity placing undue restrictions!
I'm not into our purest but I do have my limits!
But one thing I will not do is glue something together.
But yet to each his own also applies to Lego building techniques and other hobbyists like myself.
And sometimes custom stuff in my opinion ok!
Also I have spoken to a master builder at least once over-the-phone!
I actually had some questions on some things on Lego!
And they offered to connect me through to one of the Master Builders!
That does not happen very often I consider myself very fortunate!
      That was pretty cool.
To Those whom it may concern they do accept ideas for Prototype parts and suggestions and more at least nowadays.
      Just getting this out there.
So yeah pretty cool what's my first-ever real Hobby first thing is a kids really got into.
Still going for nearly forty years or so later!
You can't say that about a lot of other things you started out as a kid!
Oh and yeah there were plenty of sets that used to break those so-called rules about illegal building techniques.
Pretty much if it could stress or damage illegal part it's a no-go at least in terms of in an official Lego set.
It is not technically illegal for a hobbyist or somebody just building something Lego to use these techniques.
It's more of a cautionary or not recommended kind of thing is the way I view it.
Which I feel should be more well-known out there.
It's kind of like doing a circular structure like is done in some of these videos.
Yeah you can do it but just don't push the curve too far or you might damage or breaking one or more Lego bricks!
Yeah sure it might be fine for awhile but over time if left together under those conditions could cause permanent damage!
Which is the whole idea of Forney wash behind illegal building techniques.
Such as putting a brick or tile into clips.
However ever noticed a audiobook corsets instructions that would have a tile or plate in a minifigures hand!
Of course that is a thing has been for a long time!
But note minifigure hands are a bit more flexible than clips would be in most cases!
When somebody says illegal building technique it would be in terms of officially.
However if it works in Lego in my book it's still a building technique that could be used.
      A good demonstration of this.
And wish you could negatively affect the longevity or durability or otherwise Lego parts.
For example trying to build a ladder.
      From 1 by plates.
With the rungs of the ladder between studs.
You would notice that the side of the ladder would be would be under strain and even not necessarily straight!
Although technically a plate inserted between studs is not allowed officially.
However a a child between two studs is okay.
I cannot confirm this but from what I've heard elsewhere so jury is still out on this one!
      Happy building everyone!
Don't be afraid to try new ways of building.
I've only really recently got into snot techniques.
      AKA studs not on top.
I'm trying to learn as much as I can about unusual building techniques and stuff that's not the norm.
Also if anyone has any recommendations on books on Lego on any of this?
Also looking to see if they have any books that would information on the following.
Famous or celebrities or political for other personalities that can be built using official minifigure parts without doing anything custom printed.
There are quite a few that can be done just looking for instructions.
And yes links to videos for this as well!
Somewhere there's got to be a book that would include this.
Also there's a lot of things I've discovered that's a comment for another time

He seems to use 2 tricks a lot, one is only connecting the pieces at one end, using lots of smaller pieces because despite how good legos are the obviously don't have perfect tolerances, so if you put a bunch of pieces in a line it'll be flexible. You can test this by stacking 2x2s like 3 layers thick and just build out a decent amount, and then for the first one just connect it to a parallel identical line at one end, when you put it all together in a big build it's still so weird though.
