Paper is very easy to replace, people would just buy 100 bricks from LEGO and would create entire sets with paper from some Dunder Mifflin. People buy plastic bricks because these are sturdy, universal and you can't make them yourself, not with the precision LEGO can do it. Paper you just buy sheets and mold them as you see fit. Nobody is selling origami sets cuz one kid would just buy one, upload it on the internet and everyone could make it for free. You would go broke designing all these sets.

Yeah, mine are still only toddlers, but they love legos and can be surprisingly creative. I think my husband might find the idea interesting as well, since he loves legos too!
I haven't played with Legos since I was 12, and somehow this dude really makes me consider getting back to it just to create decorative toys. Top notch salesman energy, IMO!

This guy has done much more than just 'bring back the idea that was already made.' He actually created his own sets that were objectively more interesting and better than the official ones. Not only has he shown his own style of this type of building but he created new and exciting ways to use it beyond the set. The fashion thing and the nature blending into Lego hasn't really became popular, I myself have never seen it before, as there are nature Lego pieces. He's doing thing you wouldn't usually think of... He is created new ideas. In this day and age new ideas are extremely valuable for business and not only has he thought of them, he has made final products and prototypes as well and shown it to 11M people! He's actually already caused Lego to get more profit as now avyone who watched his video and wanted to try it will have brought more Lego and a new hole punch. That said, they now have ALOT of views on their channels and probably made quite a bit with ads :D
Then you wouldn’t be able to do singular ones for single studs. That would also kind of ruin then Lego mini figure fashion thing due to the fact it’s only one stud
if they re-release this, they should find a way to make it stud covered on one side so that you can stack bricks on them and mesure spaces between hole punches in # of brick. hell, this way, you could even stack stack several lego hole punchers together and punch many holes at once.
Or just add some short studs on the side of the puncher, so you can fit the previous hole in it to line up your next punch, allowing you to chain an indefinite amount of holes the perfect width apart...

A hanging chad- they’re actually an issue in paper ballot voting that utilizes hole punching because even if it’s fairly clear it was meant to be punched, if the chad is still partially attached (hanging chad) it isn’t counted
I found this video thinking that I'd be watching a short explanation of why the product failed. Not only was that part of the video phenomenal, there was a provided solution as well as added ideas for much more varied applications that exceeded my expectations by literal light-years. You could easily have sold this idea to Lego for a ton of money and yet here you are making it accessible to anyone with a hole punch and your stencil. Absolutely incredible!
Lego would probably pay for the idea so you couldn't share it then put it in a vault to never see the light of day. The problem is if people start extending their existing Lego sets with paper, cups and leaves then they won't need to buy the new $100 kits they put out each year. It breaks their business model.

I'd imagine that a eyelet grometting tool could be used to achieve a similar effect with fabric. That would open up a lot of possibilities as well. You probably wouldn't want to go all the way up to leather but being able to attach legos directly to your jeans certainly has potential.

Honestly, if they made a 4x4 version, or some kind of interchangeable head, they wouldn't need any other sizes, because you could just align two of the holes that have already been punched with two of the hole punching parts on the puncher so that the rest lined up

This guy sets up the table, prepares the starter, feeds them it, prepares the main, feeds them that, then clears the dishes away and says "How was it?" to the companies behind these dropped idea's and they just don't bother saying anything back. He basically just proved to me that he could own a company and produce an entire line of super successful toys in multiple industries. I'm actually in awe at the two video's I've seen so far. The production quality and effort behind the visual effects and idea's as well as solutions to problems is just jaw-dropping to say the least. If he hasn't had at least ONE offer by a big company to work as a creative lead or something, well. Sucks to be them.
Just a small shout-out to Legos partner in this, MUJI. They're great, especially for clothes, furniture, and school supplies. For people on the west coast I know they have at least one US store in Portland which is really nice, but you can also order their stuff online. At least in the tech scene I know subdued/minimal logos are popular and MUJI does no branding which is really nice.

Like the guy said, it doesn't exist, but you could make it yourself. The hardest one is 3D printer for stencil. But without it, you can easily make your own by stamping plastic or go to artsy shop and request acrylic cut. The rest is as difficult as your imagination

This is overall one of the best videos I've ever seen, the content, the pacing, the scripting, editing.... Everyone just worked perfectly and this was a random video recommended to me. Not particularly a huge Lego Geek but you have a new sub and am now binging on your back catalogue.

This solves a lot of issues with Lego plants and trees. As it was technically invented by Lego and I remember them using similar ideas on a Lego Indiana Jones Tent it should be allowed in MOC's.

this really would've benefited if Muji and Lego spent maybe more than a few hours on development because that hole punch seems very phoned in. But then again, this is kind of niche to justify a lot of R&D.
When I was like 5, I used to love lego capes so I made my own with a hole puncher and paper. Seeing this video reminded me of this and now I will never forget it

if they re-release this, they should find a way to make it stud covered on one side so that you can stack bricks on them and mesure spaces between hole punches in # of brick. hell, this way, you could even stack stack several lego hole punchers together and punch many holes at once.
Or just add some short studs on the side of the puncher, so you can fit the previous hole in it to line up your next punch, allowing you to chain an indefinite amount of holes the perfect width apart...
I am just floored by the cleverness of this idea! As a preschool teacher, you can bet I'll be integrating some of this into classroom provocations!

The amount of creativity in this video is amazing.
I found this video thinking that I'd be watching a short explanation of why the product failed.
Not only was that part of the video phenomenal, there was a provided solution as well as added ideas for much more varied applications that exceeded my expectations by literal light-years.
You could easily have sold this idea to Lego for a ton of money and yet here you are making it accessible to anyone with a hole punch and your stencil. Absolutely incredible!
Lego would probably pay for the idea so you couldn't share it then put it in a vault to never see the light of day. The problem is if people start extending their existing Lego sets with paper, cups and leaves then they won't need to buy the new $100 kits they put out each year. It breaks their business model.

I'd imagine that a eyelet grometting tool could be used to achieve a similar effect with fabric. That would open up a lot of possibilities as well. You probably wouldn't want to go all the way up to leather but being able to attach legos directly to your jeans certainly has potential.

Honestly, if they made a 4x4 version, or some kind of interchangeable head, they wouldn't need any other sizes, because you could just align two of the holes that have already been punched with two of the hole punching parts on the puncher so that the rest lined up

The pure and immense quality of this vid is actually immeasurable. Phenomenal editing as well it's amazing.
This guy sets up the table, prepares the starter, feeds them it, prepares the main, feeds them that, then clears the dishes away and says "How was it?" to the companies behind these dropped idea's and they just don't bother saying anything back.
He basically just proved to me that he could own a company and produce an entire line of super successful toys in multiple industries. I'm actually in awe at the two video's I've seen so far. The production quality and effort behind the visual effects and idea's as well as solutions to problems is just jaw-dropping to say the least. If he hasn't had at least ONE offer by a big company to work as a creative lead or something, well. Sucks to be them.

Just a small shout-out to Legos partner in this, MUJI. They're great, especially for clothes, furniture, and school supplies. For people on the west coast I know they have at least one US store in Portland which is really nice, but you can also order their stuff online. At least in the tech scene I know subdued/minimal logos are popular and MUJI does no branding which is really nice.
They have a store in NYC, too. I haven't purchased, but I was checking out their website.

Like the guy said, it doesn't exist, but you could make it yourself. The hardest one is 3D printer for stencil. But without it, you can easily make your own by stamping plastic or go to artsy shop and request acrylic cut.

This solves a lot of issues with Lego plants and trees. As it was technically invented by Lego and I remember them using similar ideas on a Lego Indiana Jones Tent it should be allowed in MOC's.

this really would've benefited if Muji and Lego spent maybe more than a few hours on development because that hole punch seems very phoned in.
