6 incredibly strange LEGO builds

- Even I don't quite know how to process these builds--and I'm sure there are more variations to explore. I love that for most of them there isn't a LEGO stud to be seen--just endless, perfectly smooth curves.
This building technique (incomplete connections) is strangely sturdy in some ways, and very fragile in others. As one of my kids told me, many of my builds look rigid, but they're actually really flexible. These builds looks so flexible--almost like a liquid--but they're utterly rigid. All around these builds are just strange, and beautiful, and amazing. 😊

LEGO piece used: Round Half 4 x 8 plates (part #22888)
One torus (aka one LEGO donut): 189 (63 sets of 3)
The final helical curve: 480 (20 quarter curves, each containing 8 sets of 3)
Everything else: Between 200 and 600

I’m bored so I calculated:

LEGO destiny: Went to local LEGO store the day before this video dropped. Happened to notice these azure 4x8 semicircular plates on the Pick-a-Brick wall. Being mainly a builder of things that move, thought nothing of them. Then came the video in my feed.
Rushed back the next morning. Crammed 239 of them into 2 large cups. Now the proud owner of the torus -- a beautiful object -- with 50 left over to fool around with.

I wish I had this many legos, I has just a few and to make bigger builds, I needed to mix some duplo with it, my favourite thing to do was to make cars, smash them and rebuild them. your channel has inspired me to take out my lego from the attic, ima do it soon :)

I love how this channel shows off some of the more creative uses of Legos; you really can make all kinds of structures you wouldn't think bricks were capable of!
Most are illegal techniques but are fine for non-official builds, but you can do a lot of this sort of thing with legal techniques, too, all it takes is a bit of creativity and geometry knowledge. I tend to be a bit of a stickler for legal techniques in my own builds (just personal preference), but there's a lot of inspiration to be taken here. Some that I've done in the past are a spiral made out of angled liftarms (which I'm hoping to turn into a screw lift GBC module) and a perfect 12-sided polygon made from squares and triangles.
How do you organize your lego’s?
I'll do a video one day, but honestly it's not very pretty. Always too many and not enough space.
Is there any feasible way to make the centre hole a bit wider? Would be incredible to see this or a similar build with two interlocking rings :D
I assume you could simply make it wider by adding another layer of a full circle. So instead of constructing the donuts like "half circle plate, 2 half circle plates, half circle plate, 2 half circle plates" you‘d do "half circle plate, 2 half circle plates, 2 half circle plates, half circle plate, 2 half circle plates, 2 half circle plates".

The exponential growth gets me every time
The change in wardrobe (different colored sleeves and sometimes no sleeves) is likely because this took so long, it couldn’t have been restricted to one day. A real testament to the dedication and persistence needed to stick all the pieces together one by one.

I imagine it would look like an almost straight pipe with tiny ripples on its surface.
Maybe I'll make a short just of that. The ripples are hard to see from a distance, and it's a very strange texture to the touch.
