    I never considered the Triumph Rocket aesthetically pleasing. It looked even clunkier than my Street Bob. I passed on it to my lose. Looking to trade mine in on one now. It’s pretty much everything I wished my Harley was.

    i really hope Triumph provide blue color for Rocket 3 (scramble 1200 Cobalt Blue) i really thinking re-paint rocket3 to blue if i buy one.

    • @blairtaylor9552
      @blairtaylor9552 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here- I had a VTX1800 in 'illusion blue' which I loved. Later a Harley Nightrain with ugly 'vintage blue' paint, that I HAD to repaint with the same 'illusion blue'. Later Harley came out with an exact paint match to mine, that they call 'Cobalt Blue'. I won't take the hit buying brand new, but when I do find my R3 GT in a year or more, You know it's gonna transform straight to cobalt blue. Radiator shroud and a few other pieces also have to turn satin black. This bike could look great in some non-generic colors!...… You know Triumph has to be holding back with some: paint colors/touring pieces/exhaust mods/etc....

    Just rode one myself, NOT hype !!! No it's not perfect but damn it's close. Not the smoothest suspension ever, ie; not as good as an Indian but better than my Road King. So much torque coming from such a smooth engine, so little drama when you overtake and plenty of braking power when you need it. With such a big tyre front and back, the biggest surprise was its agility, more than just good. Fit and finish is top notch and it is perhaps the lack of need for anything extra that makes it good value too, apart from bags it has everything you need and enough power that only a select few will find a need to fiddle with the engine.
    Your review encouraged me to go ride one, it is light years ahead of the old model and has made it to the top of my list. I'm a die hard V twin fan and had the new Indian Darkhorse Springfield lined up as my next purchase, familiar but better, much better than my Harley but this, this is just awesome.

    Triumph does beautiful bikes; but there is something wrong with the design, as if they design an amazing concept but in the fabrication process '' ok this is too much for our lets change some parts with ugly and plain ones '' like how when before you go to a business meeting you wear the best flashy suit and then in the last minute change the cool tie and pull on a more standart one because you don't want to look too intimadating ,or flamboyant.
    I mean, look at that gorgeous bike; and than that fat standart tank? Same thing with speed triples; one of the most exotic naked bikes of all times nowadays looks all plastic and boring.

    Amazing video, listening to your concise informative narration, all while simultaneously watching your truly asshole riding habits! Around here, people like you are responsible for auto drivers hating motorcycles and trying to kill them at any turn... Try coming to Hamilton and contend with our drivers here, try to squeeze yourself through traffic gaps while the car drivers see you coming and throw blocks like they are playing football- You would have been smooshed like a bug, multiple times ! I mean American football, not your footie, they literally run you off the road to the limits that the law will allow! Just try dipsy doodling between the lanes around here!... I'm pretty sure we would have been treated to footage of your real-time being squished like a bug with a subtle 3 foot sideways drift that puts you right into the path of oncoming traffic. (can you brake fast enough to tuck yourself in behind, because the guy behind will also be riding out on the line, within his rights as a driver, and probably tailgating to not let you back in, he'll be trying to keep you out in the oncoming lane hoping to see you get smashed in a headon... yeah, you would have got totally smashed over and over again around here, the drivers you share the road with politely move over out of your way, lucky you! but I don't see that as you being in control of your destiny, I see you driving like an asshole, depending on the politeness of others to continually get out of your way, over and over and over again! Beep Beep, comin through! I see you someday coming to trouble with a driver's moment of inattention during all this politeness- he'll see you coming on the left while you quickly dodge right, then as he crushes you against the car you hoped to dodge through the gap between, you'll curse and swear at his incompetence! Great. just great!

    It's the weight of the Rocket that worries me, round my way the roads are in a shockingly bad condition with pot holes, ruts and areas of gravel and wet leaves everywhere so to cope with these hazards I ride a CCM Dual Sport which is just about the best bike available so well suited to bad roads, what with only 125Kg weight on my lightened bike and the long travel suspension with fully adjustable damping which I have set to fully soft because of the pot holes everywhere and the marvellously punchy big single cylinder engine which on my bike makes nearly 70 hp at the rear wheel and the fact that at 65 years old I can lift my Dual Sport back up on my own when I manage to fall off it and so on means that the Rocket would be the last bike you'd want to ride under these conditions, a shame because I really like them

    They've shaved off lots of weight, and the old generation Rocket already feels lighter than it has any right to. It's beautifully balanced, get any Rocket up above walking speed and it's like riding any other bike, cornering is easy and stable, they just handle very well - especially for the size. I'm not surprised this is probably even better, they did peel off quite a bit of weight - surprising amounts of it really - and they already had the balance thing down pat. The big lump of an engine is low in the frame so the center of gravity is low, so it's only when you drop it and it starts to lean that you really notice that there's a fair bit of mass involved.

      The problem I have is that the GT is just isn't touring-ish enough. I don't want to give up my big windshield, lowers and big lockable panniers. Triumph should get on with making a real tourer around this engine. Make something that is as agile as the BMW tourers and still beats the Gold Wing at its own game, built around a huge engine with all the torque.

      @@lorcro2000 Wait a while. The original Rocket came on the market relatively basic. Then the Touring came a few years later. This bike is long enough for everything you mention above. There will definately be aftermarket stuff flooding the market soon. The bike could wear a screen and still look cool. There are already 20 liter side bins for it, albeit made of pliable material and not rigid. My dealer has the TFC Rocket on show, number 380. Bought by a guy in Frankfurt. Wonderfully done and a real eye-catcher. They are offering finance on the bike for 3,5% for up to 96 months. Even without the interest, for the GT, it's still over 200 bucks per month. Not everyone who will bye this bike will like it. It's big and heavy, and if you're not experienced, fu*#ing scary. My Rocket Touring has over 380 kilos, wet weight. On the previous gen Rocket, the left hand side looks like shit. I have one of those bikes. I love it. But it looks like shit from the left. This new generation Triumph did fantastically well at making it look much better, by moving the air box way down and using it to cover the engine, and those metal intake tubes visible there makes it tie together with the other side very nicely. Great job there by the designers. If the old generation has any visual weakness, the left hand side view of the engine is probably it, I hate taking pictures of mine from the left rear, it's gag inducing. This new one - nice, especially considering what they had to work with (that honking huge engine is not easy to hide...)

    I have 400 miles on my Rocket 3 GT. Just bought it Feb, 2024. What a beast. The power is incredible. I think I will move it in my house and place on my Persion Rug. It is art. I'll purchase another one I think. Maybe the R model. I love it. My neighbor lets me ride his Busa. The Busa is slower. I have owned a lot of bikes including a Boss Hoss 502 and 350. Novelty bikes. No handling on the Boss Hoss. The 502 hurt my hips. You spread your legs like a Philippino whore to ride those bikes. Subic Bay was fun 35 years ago. I want comport. The Rocket 3 is great for day rides. Goldwing is good for trips.

    This seems like a great platform for a touring bike, yet it hasn't really happened. When I bought my Road King 10 years ago, I was impressed by the motor. the brakes and the handeling, but in the features that touring riders care about, Triumph fell short. Triumph has continued to evolve but they haven't really cracked the Gold Wing and the Electra Glide markets. I'm more curious than critical.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They did some more touring specific variants of the old rocket so perhaps they’ll do one for this bike. Or perhaps it’s just not worth it... I’m sure they’ve done their market research

    Picked up my new Rocket GT last week and put 400 miles on it. The only fly in the ointment is that the list of devices that are compatible with the $900 bluetooth module is extremely limited. The only two Android phones are the S8 and S9, both of which have been discontinued by Samsung. My headset, the Sena SRL Neotec 11, is also not compatible. The dealer, Mosites in North Versailles, PA has refunded me both the price of the bluetooth component and the labor involved in installing it. Excellent Customer Service at Mosites. Triumph After Sales in Atlanta was very supportive and coordinated with the dealer. In addition, they are going to escalate the problem with Triumph UK. Be careful if you need the bluetooth! Otherwise, its the best bike that I have ever ridden!

    Motobob., Hello my friend. Sweet looking bike, both sides klook great. They added a color to the Silver Ice and Amp. And the Storm Grey of course. I like that the suspension is fully adjustable... Most newer bikes are. Please try something for me @MotoBob Take a stock bike out off the floor (no adjustments made to suspension) take for a gd ride... Then take the time to adjust your suspension, Especially if they are just some buttons to click click click... Take for a short ride, readjust the suspension... Then see how much you can love a mototobike. The Number one thing people Never Ever Ever Ever Ever do is adjust their suspension. Baby Not... It literally takes a few minutes with hand tools, and even faster (once you learn how to use the buttons and what they do) with the electrical, configuration on the small dash. Most Track riders never have or had their bikes suspension touched. Yes they may buy new forms, and spring when in most cases people in general never touch tyheirs and they could really enjoy riding... Actually their older bikes they've had for awhile would be an all new experience and fall back in love with their bikes. Even just adjusting their handlebars or clutch lever, brake levers. Guy's Gals.. do this and you'll be so happy you did. Take Care. Thanks Motobob.

    Triumph missed a trick here - it feels punchy because of the short gearing - but it's just not that quick. Should have been 200bhp to lug all that bulk - which would have been easy with a 2.5 litre engine.

    This is kinda like what Dodge did with the Challenger name. Other than the inline 3 this bike has nothing to do with the Rocket III. It was a cruiser bike now its a sport bike. Not to mention the 10 plus grand more and it doesn't make anymore torque. But then again most people just like to hear hp numbers and.

    Had to stop watching half way through. His riding style gives me the willies, speeding in heavy traffic, splitting the lanes, constant lane changing, all speak toward the type of person that doesn't have accidents, but causes them from other people having to compensate for his poor riding skills. This is the type of rider that people shake their fists at, and give the rest of us a bad name.

  • @billymania11

    We are living in funny times. There is a certain amount of excess and this bike proves that. It is way too big and too expensive. Triumph is hoping to cash in before people come to their senses. Couple that with the fact that there are enough unusual people to sustain (at least for a limited time), a purchase of such an outlandish product.
