If anyone had told me, ten years ago "in 2024 you'll drive a Lexus but will be lusting HARD after the stuff Kia and Hyundai are producing", I would have been like "who are you and how did you get in my house?"
Tell me about it, I saw Hyundai selling Elantra buy one get one free in person in the States. Today, we have Hyundai IONIQ 5 N putting many European cars in its rear view mirror that's double the price tag.
@@CarSceneKorea Hahahhaha the good old “buy one get one free” era. But yeah it’s inspiring to see them doing so well. Now if they could just up their game in the reliability department, they’d be unstoppable.

Been driving the EV6 now for three years and must say, this is a GOOD car! every day driving is a joy and long trips too, never let me down. I like the old front light more than these, and since im buying something else now, I think its going to be a N5. But again, loved my time in the EV6, well done KIA.
I currently own a white 2022 EV6 GT-Line AWD. Best overall daily driver car I have ever owned. The only complaint I have ever had is it did not come with wireless Apple Carplay but I fixed that with a Carlinkit 5.0 from Amazon for 60 bucks (works great btw). I am glad they added wireless Apple Carplay on the 2025 model. I am still undecided about the headlight design on the facelift model. Sometimes I like it and other times it looks too busy to me compared to my 2022. Guess I will need to see it in person. Overall I am happy with the facelift but do not think it is enough for me to trade in my 2022. I have 32k miles on my 2022 and so far it has been great. I live in FL and FPL (my local electric company) has a program were they install a level 2 charger at your house and you pay $38 per month for unlimited charging and there is no upfront cost so an EV is a no brainer for me since I drive nearly 100 miles per day back and forth to my office.
Great video. I have the current EV6 looking forward to seeing the facelift version in the flesh. But also looking forward to seeing the EV3. I know it’s a lot smaller but should be as well specified. It goes on tour here in the uk at the end of August but will be interesting to know when you do the test drive how it compares to the EV6.
I actually really like the facelift on the GT-Line. It has quite the nice futuristic sports car look to it, and pre-facelift feels more modern. So I think either EV6 will age quite well, mainly for the GT-Line in my opinion though. It's nice because it doesn't scream "I'm an EV" and I like that. Oh and I appreciate it when you show the passenger seat, not everyone does it! And random question, do you know if it's possible in the future to update the infotainement system of prefacelift EV6 to look like the one in the facelift? I like the new interface.
Nothing is impossible when it comes to modifying, upgrading cars, but it boils down to the cost at the end of the day, right? I am 99.9% sure we'd be better off buying the facelift than trying to upgrade the first EV6. Infotainment system - electronics - will cost a fortune and great technician to get the job done right.
The regen thing has been out there for many years already in Kia/Huundai cars. The same is also found in many of the Niro hybrid and plug in hybrids for years already.

Thanks for this! I'm looking at the EV6 GT-Line S for our next car. Currently on a Puegeot e-208 but looking for something a bit bigger with increased range. I had no idea the facelift is going to have a larger battery while keeping the same price so if we do end up looking at buying new, we'll be hanging on til that facelift reaches the UK.
On my US 22' HI5 and GV60P, I can already pull the left paddle and it will use regen braking to slow the vehicle (even if in Auto, Level, or IPedal). It's interesting how Kia EV6 didn't have that originally (but at least the new one has it). I even added aftermarket aluminum paddle extensions because I use the left paddle all the time for regen braking.
Great review. I like all the improvements. It's too bad they didn't reconfigure the capacitance touch, dual function hvac/function bar. We are constantly hitting the Auto-AC touch control when using the volume control and changing the setting. This is not a great design. We had it in our Gen1 Chevy Volt and did not like it at all. Chevrolet listened and dropped this feature in the Gen2 Volt with explicit hvac control. In this area, Hyundai did a better job in the Ioniq5. Another thing that is not my favorite is the primary display layout. I prefer the most important information like speed, range, etc. to be in the middle, with the trip info on the sides. We find that the speed is partially clipped at times by the wheel position. This is especially important on models without the HUD. This is not to knock the car. Overall Kia has done a nice job and it sounds like a great car is now even better. One thing that would be nice is if they offered some of the great colors from their other lines. The Niro Mineral Blue (Carnival Astra Blue) is a favorite with the Sportage/K5 Everlasting Silver a second.

Are there more detailed specs about the new battery pack available? I'm looking for the weight compared to the current pack and the built in buffer. The current gen has a 77.4kWh usable pack with a total capacity of (I believe) ~84kWh for use as a buffer. Does the new pack's 84kWh pack have a similar design, bringing the total actual capacity closer to 90kWh?
Did they found a fix for the ICCU problem many people have? I don't have a EV6 but the Ioniq 5 and they share the same platform. I was reading so many posts from that the ICCU stops working properly. No more AC charging, which is bad but the car is still usable but also the 12V battery won't be charged anymore and the car won't start anymore or even shuts down when you are driving. My car dealer said the 2024 EV6 would get an update for wireless CarPlay, does anyone know if that's true? Because wireless CarPlay can only happen if the infotainment device can handle it so I'd find it strange it would come through an update.

i doubt the U.S. will get the deeper frunk. They didn't include it in the last version either but they did in the UK. From what i was told it's not allowed in the u.s. unless they install a quick release latch on the inside for fear of some kid getting stuck inside...which begs the question, are people really driving around putting kids in the frunk of a car?😄
Does the 2025 EV6 GT-Line no longer have the Stylish, Dynamic and Cyber settings in Active Sound Design? I saw an Active Design tab with largest, moderate, and smallest change, but no advanced custom to pick Stylish, Dynamic and Cyber.
I dont get it, we all know that having to shake the wheel to let the car know you are holding it is just stupid... How the F.... did they not implement a simple detection-method in the prefacelift... Its the one stupid thing I hate about my EV6 GT-Line the constant nagging it does telling me to hold the wheel while driving on a dead-straight with both hands on the wheel just drives me insane.. But next to that im pretty happy I own a pre-facelift, cant stand the looks of the new one, that offcenter logo.... yikes....

Just no interaction with the kia user interface for the HUD and navigation ☔☔.
My car dealer said the 2024 EV6 would get an update for wireless CarPlay, does anyone know if that's true? Because wireless CarPlay can only happen if the infotainment device can handle it so I'd find it strange it would come through an update.
The car needs to have ccNC, which early IONIQ 5 and EV6 do not have. I couldn't find any article with regard to such update.
@@CarSceneKorea thx
Ambient lighting in the doors panels. 🤔
Ambient lighting should also be in the door panels + illuminated door handle!.
That sure sounds nice 😊
I'm getting closer to the fact that I need to return the car to you.
the panel is all shiny from the sun, everything is reflected on the windshield, it is very dangerous when driving.
the seats are very uncomfortable
Nice vid of a nice car but only the GT can drift, pal ;) Besides that, they should lower prices because here in Europe this EV6 doesn’t sells very well…
Any RWD E-GMP vehicle including a RWD EV6 can easily drift with VDC off, yes, done it myself :) You can also do AWD too with a bit of effort.
Please compare with the Ioniq 5 refresh
Wish I could 🥲
I’m confused. This left paddle hold max regen has been around since the first Hyundai IONIQ 5. This isn’t new.
I found that out super late indeed. Excuse written in the pinned comment.
Ahhh don’t sweat it at all! It happens to the best of us! You make some of the best TH-cam content on our favorite brands!
At least this mistake will be very good for your comment section engagement! 😉
Although I never had the intention of doing so, it turned out to be that way lol
Great video mate but kia like the E niro have made this look fugly (a uk saying meaning funky but ugly) the old headlamps was and still look so future proofed. So glad they didn't change it too much as I'll be exchanging my 1st gen E niro for the current EV6 GTline plus 4WD. Cheers
Thanks for the explanation on fulgy, otherwise I'd have thought of another word 🤣
Change your camera settings so there’s no flicker 😅
I tried a several, none worked so just went with it 😅
thanks! What is the DC charging speed now?
Same as before given the E-GMP, 800V maximum.
Ev5 please
چه بارون قشنگی میاد اینجا که خیلی گرم ۲۹ درجه است😂
It's hot everywhere 🥵
همه جا گرمه🥵
its hud or head up display, not H.U.D.
i meant this in a help way, not a dig way.
I take every correction and knowledge from my viewers seriously and am genuinely thankful to those. No more H.U.D. from me, it'd be Hud like bud from now on :)
:)
i didnt see my comment, i was thinking, glitch/hidden/deleted one from these 3 options. so i tried a second and third time..
so i am really sorry for that.
정말 미안해요
All good, thanks for the comment!
i doubt the U.S. will get the deeper frunk. They didn't include it in the last version either but they did in the UK. From what i was told it's not allowed in the u.s. unless they install a quick release latch on the inside for fear of some kid getting stuck inside...which begs the question, are people really driving around putting kids in the frunk of a car?😄
You have a point.
Does the 2025 EV6 GT-Line no longer have the Stylish, Dynamic and Cyber settings in Active Sound Design? I saw an Active Design tab with largest, moderate, and smallest change, but no advanced custom to pick Stylish, Dynamic and Cyber.
I will check this on my next test drive.
Ev3 please
I'm looking forward to see his review too.
EV3 is not being delivered yet, will test drive it asap!
@@CarSceneKorea can't wait! 💟
But next to that im pretty happy I own a pre-facelift, cant stand the looks of the new one, that offcenter logo.... yikes....
I really love HoD indeed. My car doesn’t have it either 😭
Owner of a 2024 EV6.. I'd rather buy an Ioniq 5 than this facelift version.
New front facia is 🤢🤢🤢 Not a good redesign.
🫥
Rear end remains fugly, and I mean fugly. New front end now at least doesn't steal from Tesla.
This 430km range in 2025 is a joke. Sorry KIA...
