Small Crossover?! The EV6 is a big car! 😃 The Kia Niro EV is a medium Crossover and the Kia Soul EV is a small crossover. The EV9 is absolutely massive.
You may not be in the US, the headroom is abysmal in the front and the rear of this car and it barely can hold one bag of full golf clubs, forget two of them.
@@packetattack7437 I’m in the UK. At 4.7 metres long this is one of the bigger cars on the road. I can’t comment on headroom as I don’t have one and I am only 1.78 metres tall. My current car is an original Ioniq which I’m replacing with an Ioniq 5 next month. I’m a little worried about the sheer size of the I5, especially when manoeuvring in multistorey car parks. I did consider a Niro EV but went for the I5 because of the charging speed.
Current EV6 owner (2023 model), which I love. Nothing on the new model that I love but nothing that I really dislike either. Headlights are fine, wouldn't be a deal breaker, but prefer the current model version. Like the new infotainment system, don't care either way on the new steering wheel, great that wireless carplay will now be available.
Whooah, the new batt is sweeeet. The infotainment systems is the brains of the car so new, and different, is a big deal. That being said, I understand where you are coming from. When the 2025 Ioniq 6 comes out it will be the same situation for me and I will still be happy with my 2023.
Great video! I agree with most everything you said, although after pouring over photos and video, including the South Korean Kia website, the GT Line front end is growing on me. With all the advancements you shared, you convinced me to not go with a '24 EV6 and wait for the '25, even though there are some CRAZY incentives going on right now. I also want to wait to see what the EV4 production version looks like, especially if we get the hatchback version seen in spy shots. I have an R2 reserved, but I'm getting anxious to get a new EV and your channel is helping with my therapy! Thanks, man!
I agree 100% with your analysis of the EV6 facelift especially the part about the front headlights and the new wheels. The EV6 is very different from the other EVs in Kia's lineup which are more boxy with maybe the exception of the Kia Niro. I just hope they add more exterior color options in the GT-Line trim.
the pr-conditioning button is a game changer! WOuld allow Car play or android auto to be used with ABRP or Waze or another map app you'd like! Over the air upgrades is amazing too! THe look is polarizing. I wasn't sure at least. I think the front reminds me of something like the Alfa Romeos or some sort of fancy sport car? I like it actually, and I have always prefered the interior, and the fact the piano black is gone... Yeah! Digital mirror would be cool with this car! So, Yeah, I was looking at a new car. I was looking at 2025 model year Ioniq 5 (I had one, but its lease expired in July 2024...) Was looking at a few cars, like new Ioniq 5, EV6 (2024), and ID.4 (with its refresh, larger batter, faster charging). ID.4 was tempting, and I almost pull the trigger on that, but am glad I waited for EV6. I may look into gettin g a Light RWD EV9 or a Land trim as more of a family car that my parents can drive, but for me, I may wait for EV6.
Just bought a 2024 and believe I got a decent deal as they want to sell them before 2025s hit. Did the same thing with my G80 and at least I think I am bright by purchasing before model refreshes. I doubt it though.
The curvier new front and rear Integrate better with the curved bonnet and rear haunches. Previously there was too much a clash of angular lines and curves
I LOVE the new front end!! OTA Updates, Bigger battery, more range, what is there to hate? I would have preferred to NOT have a Start button at all like the new Chevy Equinox EV. Also the Chevy has a better self-driving mode, disappointing they can develop a better system and do away with the start button all together. I hope the US version has the turn signals where the overseas models do.
despite the new one coming out and its nearly the end of the year, dealers STILL aren't budging on their prices. one dealer has one theirs sitting on the lot for 330 days. Guess they're not interested in selling it.
I think the front of the 2025 EV6 looks good on the GT-Line, the non-GT-Line is the one I'm feeling mixed about. I do love the lack of piano black. I have the 2024, and man do the piano black scratch very easily.
AWD IONIQ 5 Limited with no rear motor noise even when just using the rear motor only. Was that a RWD thing? EV6 square themed wheels are trying to transition this from a crossover to a SUV related to the EV9. I’d ok with the DRL’s but the horizontal connecting part needs to be hidden in the day and visible only when the head lights are on. Hopefully it’ll be thin as well. If the second color of the steering wheel matched the paint I’d be ok with that or atleast compliment the seating color that also compliments the exterior color. 11:57
Current, (no pun intended), 2022 FE owner here. I’m not a fan of the cosmetic upgrades outside. I do like the two-tone interior, plus the software updates. Won’t be trading though, mine is so sweet & very rare, being 1 of 211 made for the US market in Urban Yellow.
I really dislike the front of the new EV6. I’m one of those on that side of the fence. I wish they’d stuck to the current front design. Oh well, I’m now driving a new Tesla Model 3, and loving it. If I had the money, I’d get either the Ioniq 5N, or the EV6 GT (current), or the Genesis GV60 performance
As a currrent EV6 owner, I'm okay with the interior changes. The sofvtware is the most important, and it would be great if the older cars could be updated as well, The front end design is a bit off-putting. I'll have to see it in person, but I'm just not feeling it
I hold purchase EV6 month ago, awaiting face lift. Front is worse than previous. Hope they will add to Mexico spec. also front and rear DVR camera, also may be V2H fearure ? I read somwhere the coment, that noe rute from golle mps will be possible to visualise on driver dash board with turning directions.
Two things stopping me from buying an ev6. I absolutely want ventilated seats, but only the top trim has it in canada but also comes with a sunroof, which makes the headroom insufficient. Any details on this? 2nd is I loved the wheels on the top non-gt trim and the new ones are not to my liking at all. So.e manufacturers allow for choosing wheels. To bad kia/hyundai does not.
Everything is always possible regarding a software update. If it happens it likely will be done after the refresh models are out for a few months and then done quietly. This gives their salesmen the ability to say this feature is only available on the new model when they have both the new and older models in stock. They did the same thing with the ability to preheat the battery in the first year models as it was not available at all until a future software update on the AWD models since the RWD models didn't come with the ability to preheat the battery in the first year.
I like how you put it, possibly an evil mustache! I do feel the EV6 has always been a battle of designs among itself, it’s got like 3 different designs from the front, side and rear. I wish Kia would ditch the “tiger nose” but I suppose it’s objective - I think it’s a poor style staple that calls back to their days as a cheap economy car company. Impressive list of changes for a mid-cycle. I’m sure the 2028 eV6 will usher a whole new design language, or be similar to however the EV9/3 refreshes look by then.
Only you can decide. They both have their pros and cons. I would wait for the refresh on the Kia side unless you found a really great deal that you don't want to pass up on the current model.
The ride quality in my 22 Wind AWD is much better than a model 3 (pre highland refresh). EV6 to me is a more engaging drive if you use the regen paddle shifters to change the driving dynamics. The Model 3/Y is a get in sit down, drive and forget about most of the experience. My wife has a Model Y and I have an EV6. They both have pros and cons. It comes down to what you are looking for and how you use the car. Lots of long drives? Tesla in car charging navigation is leaps and bounds better than EV6. raw charge speed (if you get a working charger) the EV6 is way faster than a model 3.
pick Tesla if u want to have same looking 9/10 cars on the road... or EV6 that is unique, rare on the road with a lot personality, better driving comfortable ride, more traditional dashboard, etc.
Disappointed they didn’t add a panoramic sunroof! They should have reshaped the rooftop to add a full glass window. 1 main reason why I would pass on this one.

That front end looks way better than the current one.
Im waiting for Ionic 5 refresh to hit the US market
New EV buyer here, interested in the 2025 EV6 GT-line. I've always liked the EV6 style. All the mid-cycle refresh changes are welcome in my book.
I like the look of the new EV6. I still like the looks of the Ioniq 5 and 6 better though.
Nothing on NACS or CCS port?
I like the new front end

Front end changes look good
I thought the headlights were awkward at first. But they have slowly grown on me.
I think it's an awesome update with a ton of new features. I like the design updates too. May update my current EV6 to this once it becomes available.
i don't hate the redesign but i prefer the pre-face lift. i live here in Jeju Korea so i'll get to see these next month in the wild
Hubby took me to kia car lot to look at vehicles, walked by the Kia EV6 and totally fell in love.
I love the Kia EV6 - I have the 2022 Wind AWD.
OK with the new headlights and really like the new wheels
Just bought a 2024 and believe I got a decent deal as they want to sell them before 2025s hit. Did the same thing with my G80 and at least I think I am bright by purchasing before model refreshes. I doubt it though.
I don't mind the redesign. The bigger issue for me is the small/low headspace in the back.
Exactly why I went for the Ioniq 5 instead.
According to Car Scene Korea who have just driven the EV6 facelift Kia have significantly improved the suspension comfort in urban type driving.
Didn’t like the front from the begining. But it has really grown on me. Now I think it look great. 🙂
Nice, they added all the ev9 12v drain features.
The curvier new front and rear Integrate better with the curved bonnet and rear haunches. Previously there was too much a clash of angular lines and curves
EV6 still looks great IMO.

Do you have any hope Hyundai or Kia bring new ccNc software to 2023 Ioniq 5 or 6? Because they dont update Ioniq gen5w sofware system.

Like the new contrasting alloy wheels, but too bad they didn't update that godawful rear end - Cool they added the charge preconditioning buh-in.
Will i be able to upgrade my 2024 gt line infotainment screen to the 2025 updated one via ota updates ?
no its a completely different platform
@@Cory69 OK. I will be coming back to this. comment in the future to verify your response.
Is this one getting an updated ICCU or AGM battery as standard?
None of that is known but once it gets NACS it will have a new ICCU
Will the 2025 still be 10-80% charging in 18 minutes and see higher rates then the 245 kwh rate I can get on 350 kwh EA units?

The bummer with GT-Line IMO is the loss of headroom with the sunroof. Great otherwise. BTW I am 6" tall.
Very curious for the GT updates...

Some people can’t hear the high pitch of the motor wine. But it exists in all models.
Yeah I imagine it’s very dependent on your own ears. I’m pretty sensitive to high frequency noises.

I think I need to see in person before I can decide
Will the 2025 EV6 get the 3rd new 5” HVAC that is in the EV9?
Will the headlights have better illumination at night than the ones on my 2023 GT-line which I find inadequate.
Yes it will
The us can’t use reflectors on the refresh projector only I’m upgrading to the new one when my lease is up on 2024 model
Is it safe to assume that they’ve modified the required interval for the coolant flush like they did for the 2025 Ioniq5?
The EV6 has a different cooling system than the early Ioniq 5. It doesn't require that special maintenance.

Did they fix the piss poor headlights. If so, I would get one but keep my FE. 👌
Some of these features are also in the new 2024 Kona EV.
I still cant decide between the EV6 2025 or the ID.4 2025 for my first EV car O_o
Just sold my tesla to save some money looking forward to my gt model

Not sure I like the new look. Think I prefer the actual one.

Typically peoples hesitate wth the mY, being a hatchback.
I don't hate Tesla but whenever I see it on the road, it looks so weird and fat.
I think the facelift looks ok. But the new EV6 won't get a rear wiper??
Doesn’t look it. From what I’ve gathered, EV6 owners don’t seem to think it’s as big of a deal as with Ioniq 5
As an EV6 owner for 1.5 years, I haven't missed a rear wiper. The aero does a better job of keeping the window clean.
I hope it gets a bit cheaper. The prices are still too high to be competitive to ICE cars.
Disappointed they didn’t add a panoramic sunroof! They should have reshaped the rooftop to add a full glass window. 1 main reason why I would pass on this one.
But why is the new EV6 crying?
Yep, I don't like the exterior refresh. The front fascia looks like crap. Should have left it more like the original.
Front air intake on all EVs need some work.
The front note looks Ford Focus. Not too happy
'auto-park' is not a fancy option if you have some disabilities.
Sir, mid 300's would be 350 miles.
Which is why I said approaching
I have a 23 EV6, I prefer the looks of the new one. The wheels though, yuck.
Too bad you didn't mention the price point.
Because prices outside of Korea haven’t been announced and they vary in every market
I like the new headlights Distinctive, modern. Old headlights were generic from 5 years back.
Generic? What other cars were they like?
Ioniq 6 or Kia EV 6?
Rear 👍, front 👎
Wow 15 more miles 👎
