I have a friend whose name is Wilson. And when he comes over to the house, I shout out, “WILLLLLLLSON” like Tom Hanks in Castaway.
He works as a bartender at the Orion Auditorium in Huntsville, Alabama. They have multiple drink alcoves around the auditorium, and people decorate their own spots. And I told him that he needed a Wilson volleyball, to sit behind the bar.
I found your video, and I followed it, and I made what I think is a pretty good replica.
I sandpapered off all of the writing and logos, except the hand print. That was an error. I had watched your video, and then bought the materials, and made the mistake of not watching the video again before I started. I was sure I saw you sandpaper off everything, but I realize now you didn’t. But I don’t think it distracted from the final product.
Also, I am going to attach two photos. The first one was the original final product. But I didn’t like the way Wilson’s fringed bangs looked too blunt and uniform, so the next day I got a pair of scissors and changed the shape and touched up the paint, And I think I’m pretty happy with the final product.
I left a message for my friend to come get it, but I have not heard back yet. But I think he will be thrilled. And I think it will look pretty cool in his bar station. Maybe attract more patrons or give him better tips. It ought to at least make his station memorable if people are trying to find him again.
At any rate, I know it’s been a couple of years since you posted this, but I wanted to show you what you inspired me to do.

I have changed the handprint a bit for mine. Because it does look a bit different when 4 years have passed and the sticks resembling his hair (I have looked it up) are actually tobacco stalks.
I actually did that with mine. Because I wanted mine to resemble the one we’re chuck escaped the island.

New Orleans cancelled Mardi Gras Parades 2021, so there’s a movement to decorate our homes as floats. We’re planning a “Castaway”theme and I’m creating a large Wilson to put up on my gable. I think they did find it. I seen on an auction thing they had the final stage Wilson that they shot the last scene with. He fetches over £60.000 now in auction
