How deepest connection wilson through human that's called gift special heart 4years without no one just only wilson special makes everyone around the world that how deepest connection wilson left
Growing up is accepting that Wilson had to go for Chuck to truly leave the island behind and recover from his isolation. But acceptance doesn't make it hurt any less 😭
Optom Bomber yes! If only he had swam a little farther! God, I got so sad yesterday! I was playing bench ball in P.E at my high school and do you know what the brand was?! It was fudging Wilson 😪
Imagine: You’re all alone in the world. You are on an uncharted island. Nobody knows where you are, nobody knows if you’re alive or dead. Your only friend is a volleyball. This whole movie brings me to tears.
This scene is a masterpiece because it evokes the pure and innate sense of empathy and unconditional love that lies deep within the core of damn near every human being and shows us that we can all connect through it. No matter what our petty and shallow differences are and reasons for feeling divided...if you feel the unconditional love in this scene, we are one. Hats off to Tom Hanks and the producers for delivering such an authentic and moving scene.
I believe that all of us who have been touched by this scene is because at some point in our history we contemplated to give up on life for being in some much pain and never thought we'd overcome that moment...
He's also crying for everything he's been through as that was the last straw, the next scene he gets rid of the oars kinda like saying F it I die I die
Tom is a master and probably the best actor to ever exist. I lost my dog of 12 years to horrible circumstances and this scene reminds me of that day. I bawl every time I see this scene not just because of my dog but because he has so much love and compassion for a volleyball. It was his best friend, just because something doesn’t have a conscious does not mean you can’t connect on such a strong level that most people don’t understand. In his eyes, he just lost his pal and he blames himself for not waking up in time to save him. This is a perfect example of the love and compassion a person can show especially when it’s the only thing in the world you have. When my dog died I thought I was gonna die. I could have saved my dog but I didn’t because I was asleep. I still sit at her grave and tell her I’m sorry because if I would have been awake within two minutes none of it would have happened. She was viciously attacked by another dog and if I had just gotten there two minutes early she would still be here.
Sometimes I watch this movie just to let out all the sadness. Tom Hanks is an incredible actor, and he makes it very easy to connect with the character and feel so much empathy in this scene. It's funny when you think that its just a volleyball 🏐. But to him in this moment, it was all he had! I cry when I watch this and also when I listen to this masterpiece of a movie soundtrack.
People who laugh at it have no humanity. Through that relationship he was able to persevere and grow as a human being...and then having to let go is a traumatic experience because he doesnt know what’s up ahead...
Rampage Clover You’re exactly right. Wilson could probably be anybody’s friend, if they were lonely enough. Even though he wouldn’t be able to speak to them, he’d still be there for them and comfort them when they were down. I’d give anything to have Wilson with me on a deserted island any day of the week.
I know this comment will get buried in the other comments on this video but I had to share it regardless. I used to have a cat, and he got his name from this movie because I was leaving my partner alone for a week and we got him the same time. We hadn't yet decided on a name, but as I was leaving, I said to him, "Well, I guess he can be your Wilson, when you miss me. So hold him tight and think of me when you do." So the name stuck. And throughout the years, he was always there. He always wanted to sit on my lap while I did my online school. He always wanted to be near me when I did some menial thing, and above all, he always, ALWAYS, slept next to me on my bed. All I had to do was call his name and he'd be there, running up whatever stairs, jumping onto whatever pile, or sitting there next to me when I needed him. He was my one and only buddy. Now, his spot on the bed is empty. My lap is cold because I don't have the warmth of him sitting there. I hear no noise as I cook dinner because he's not there to meow at me. My Wilson was taken far too soon, and I didn't have the money to get him his operation. I couldn't afford the treatment. He died because I couldn't be there for him, and it's something I'll never forgive myself for. So when Tom Hanks' character is sobbing because he's saying "I'm sorry Wilson," It's me, saying it to my little buddy. There's not a day that I go where I don't think of him. But this moment lives inside me forever, and will always be there no matter what happens in my life. He was and will always be, my friend.
MTB with Jamie I know exactly how you feel, man. When I left Dunder Mifflin Scranton, it felt like I was leaving a whole bunch of Wilsons behind. Heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking.
The single, saddest scene in any piece of cinema ever made. Because Wilson represented everyone he'd ever known, he wasn't just losing some volleyball, it was like he was losing every friend and kin in his life all at once. It's an ingenious scene in that it touches hard on the human psyche and truly establishes what it means to innately be an incredibly social creature, which we all are.
I have a little companion like Wilson, he's a PAW Patrol pup plush (Chase). Three years ago I was on a UK trip and on the eve of the last day, my little Chase fell out of my backpack. Despite searching for hours, I never found him. That night, next morning, on the flight back home, and at home I couldn't stop myself from crying like this. Even now I'm crying as it all comes flooding back after seeing this, and the recently released PAW Patrol movie.
This part is so sad 😭😭😭😭. While I was watching it alone, I cried loudly like Tom Hanks character. I was watching it by myself so it was a perfect time to cry out loud.
How about a mentally challenged man losing the closest friend he ever had, and the mother of his child? How about a gay man who was wrongfully fired from his job after it was revealed he had AIDS and was dying? How about a Death Row guard who couldn't bear the thought of killing an innocent man with the gift of healing people in a world that treated him horribly? How about a cop who lost his partner in the line of duty, even though he was a stinky, smelly, nasty dog? Tom Hanks is a legend who could crush our hearts, and we'd always love him.
This has to be one of the saddest scenes Ive watched in a movie… shows of loneliness, friendship, heart break, resilience, loss, hope, love, all rolled into this one scene.. (Wilson lost but never forgotten…. 😢
Wilson had sense that cargo ship will be around soon ... And that's why he leave Chuck on his raft 😭 " We been together for 4 years. You are safe now. They will coming for you. Take care buddy" - Wilson 😭😭😭
God it's been 5 minutes of crying since the video ended, and i don't think i'm crying over the volleyball or the music (although they clearly help), but the desperation of tom hanks, triggered a desperation within me, and those i've lost.
Before someone says this scene is weird, you have to remember Wilson was the only thing keeping chuck sane on the island for 4 years. That was his only friend and thing he loved, well besides Kelly of course
What makes this scene sadder is that while Chuck is crying on his raft, it sounds like he's still trying to say "I'm sorry." This movie broke me, I swear...
EVERYTIME! I cry everytime I see this scene. Probably one of the saddest scene in history of Cinema. It hits on another level when we can relate it to our lives
My husband didn’t really care for Tom Hanks or his movies. But after watching Castaway, he started appreciating and loving him. Apparently it took Tom, by himself, and his relationship with a volleyball to change his mind.
There are scenes that are so touching, so well done, so emotive... We can all no doubt list many of them. Anyone who watches this movie and this particular scene and sits untouched, unmoved... well, have a heart; get one. At all cost, in any way.
This scene is like actually one of the most heartbreaking scenes in cinematic history, very few beat this one. I cry just thinking about this scene too hard
This really does hurt, especially from 1.09 where the scene of the ocean is black and white, the impressive and emotional Alan Silvestri music is playing and Tom Hanks sobbing.
I always cry on this scene and if you think about it…. It’s just an object, a volleyball. But when you are so heavily isolated the way Chuck was - a volleyball is your only form of communication to anything other than yourself. And yes it’s an object yet look at the way Tom really made Chuck’s character near perfection. His acting was insane, amazing, raw, emotional, and real. Just epic. Admittedly my favorite character he has ever played in every one of his movies and easily the best Tom Hanks movie as well. Amazing job, Tom. Amazing acting. So intense.
I'm not crying... I just got something my eyes... 🥺😥😢😭😭😭 To think a volleyball can make so many people cry, makes this a masterpiece. Great actor, great plot with one of the most heartbreaking twists ever. Poor Wilson. And poor guy. Now they are both all alone in the ocean. Wilson cried too. It's hard to say farewell to your friend.
I watch this scene regularly as it Relates the family I loved and lost , I wake up every day hoping that the pain will go away , and also hoping I don’t wake up agsin this is a horrible world I was born into 😞
Do not weep my child, for I am in a better place 🙏🏽

@@87steaksThis is how most people reacted when they noticed the value of their homes drifting away during the subprime meltdown.
On paper, that would be the dumbest thing in motion picture history, but the execution is what makes it so heartbreaking.
And when Chuck got emotional and told off Wilson, he just took it and listened to him. A good therapy friend for sure
When Toms laying on the raft weeping. It just breaks my heart.
Wilson was his motivation to stay alive
@@krtlkid actually he wasn’t. It was Kelly. Wilson just kept him from feeling alone.

i think this clip should be shown in every psychology students presentation to show what the effects of lonliness and isolation does to an individual
Wilson was the one who accompanied him in his loneliness for 4 years. He didn't lose a volleyball, he lost his only friend.
