Making fire on your own is definitely a great accomplishment.

I think we have all been mentally broken at some point in our lives. It's what we do after. There is a lot of humility in this movie, I suggest everyone watch it through its entirety ❤
Well I think everyone watching this, would have already seen the movie. Part of the reason we’re here. But good advice.
Feels like today.
"the air got to it...... The air got to it!!"
When we humiliate in return we get yields of humiliation too.. fair enough...
Tom really owned that role.
The only actor who can make us cry over a volleyball 🏐
Wilson deserved a oscar for best supporting actor
It shows how the choice to live and grow was always within yourself. Beautiful movie
He made a friend to talk to which is an excellent coping skill for one who is all alone because humans are social creatures we cannot survive in absolute solitude without completely losing our sanity
💯💯
0:18 The moment Wilson was born
.😂
I saw a man trying desperately to bring fire into his life. Failure meant his death, he bleeds and finds a friend. He changes the way he makes fire.
One of the best movies I've seen.
Rumor has it that the receiver of Wilson ball is still waiting for the parcel to arrive, probably stuck in FedEx's oceanic delivery service! 🏐🌊😂
nice derrier
And his dentist is named Spaulding...😂 One of Tom Hanks excellent movies! To think he started out on the TV show, Bosom Buddies!
I was just thinking that
@@aaronblake3031 Even Mayim Balik starred in that series!!
This movie is the greatest Wilson ad campaign ever
Saudade desse grande sucesso
I was thinking during the academy awards that year, why Wilson came short of winning an oscar, for me it should have won it.
He is more worthy than will Smith
Could’ve got Oscar for best supporting actor lol
@@charliedallachie3539 he would have won, if he was black.

Wilson was sitting over there like, "You crazy, bro." After coming to life like, a few hours ago. 😆😁😄😃🤣😂🙂
The scene where Hanks' character wakes up to the waves crashing into that large piece of outhouse.
He goes out and is scared of it at first, but props it up and stares at the Easter Island face on that large panel.
That face was telling him to get off the island and how he should do that. Cool scene. Like the volleyball face.
This is me in my apartment with my carved pumpkin looking at me…
Damn, his hand healed in one day. Nice.
Salt water and air does wonders
@@TheCrustyFry That's sea water though, it's incredibly risky to clean wounds with sea water because of the natural bacteria, especially in warm water.

This film as young boy showed me to never give up
In order to successfully start a fire by rubbing sticks. One must first create an idol devoted to Wilson the Fire God otherwise it wont work.
Buzz: Sitting around the camp fire eating delicious hot schomes
Woody: They're called s'mores, Buzz
0:21 me when mom said I can’t get a Lego set 😂
3:38 🏐: alright man, fuck!
The air got to it.. THE AIR GOT TO IIIT!!! LOL
Too much air, not enuf lighter fluid😂jk
And he hesitated before blowing on it. You need to start lightly blowing right away to get it to catch.
FIRE!
0:10 Woody cuts his hand with that stick
Heart touching love
Life just said "fuck your perseverance". I think that would upset anyone
Wonderful Film.
I used a similar approach when i was a kid because i wasn’t allowed to play with matches, but no one told me that i couldn’t use pencils.
0:13 I love he lets it all out…
That and the pain of slicing his hand open. It makes me cringe every time I watch it.
This is how we’d probably behave at work if no one could ever be fired for losing our sh*t during the day in frustration😂jk but to see what this might look like skip to the office machine destruction scene in the “Office Space” movie😊jk
Wouldn't you if you cut your hand open?
@@richardpierce4908 bruh. you never stepped on legos?
Fire and shelter first priority day one when you have the energy
What about water?
@@setasan water is much more difficult in tropical settings but what he should have done was open up as many coconuts as he could and make them containers and then used the life raft as a rain water catchment. You see him doing this finally on the raft during a rain storm when he left the island. He never attempted to catch rain water when he first landed on the island.
The only other option was to hollow out a log creating a bowl and boil sea water via stone boiling. He could have used the life raft to catch the steam created from the boiling process with opened coconuts. Much more difficult but still he had all the resources to do it.
I would live on that Island.....
❤️❤️❤️Keep up the good work 🔥🔥🔥

That voice crack 😂
Where is Wilson now? He is a great actor.
C. NoLand....interesting name..
Ouch with Nacl and cleaned with water. Tough TOM.. :)
The volleyballs name was Wilson. The castaway character had a deep abiding connection with the character Wilson. Tom Hanks is married to actress Rita Wilson…
0:12 ouch his hand has now split open and yes he’s hurt
So his volleyball is named Wilson ?
F I R E ! ! !
Chuck talking to Wilson is now different than a child talking to a doll or a stuffed animal.
There's a funny conclusion, that much of what we do as humans, are only because of other people. Either for them, or in fear of them. Sometimes that's our strongest motivation. Else we'd live like animals and never try harder. Wilson may have been a facsimile of a person, but it gave him the motivation to try again.
Fire🔥
There You Go!!!! Light It Up Cmon!!!!!
Tom Hanks actually made the fire here. His reaction is completely real because it took him hours to do.
yeah right
Great movie to watch with your children +12
The “I have made fire!” line seems somewhere between Jim Carrey and Jerry Seinfeld
WILSON !!
😅❤
🥺👉👈
stand by Wilson
Hold on Wilson
Tom Hanks
Castaway
WILSON!!!!
The thing that cracks me up about this scene is that although he’s a very serious man with an extremely fast-paced career, he still has the tendency to act like a 10 year old at a campfire.
If only he had found a magnifying glass it maybe even a pair glasses. But has anybody ever actually started a fire rubbing wood together? lol.
The bow method is best..
Mr Hanks needs a vacation
This is the Plot of how Toy Story 5 should be
Look what I have createddd.... I... have made fire..
That feeling of achievement ❤
Great edit idea 🎉
You can have family. You may be surrounded by people everyday in your life and still be as lonely as Tom Hanks in this movie 😢
Rumor has it that the receiver of Wilson ball still waiting for parcel to arrive
He asked for a refund and wrote a big fat review about the seller 😊
Frazzledrip. Oh my God....
wir waren mit diese stayl vor Storys
he needed someone to impress
I have a Willie instead of a Wilson 😂😂😂
Imagine if he set the whole island on fire 😂
Might have attracted a ship possibly
He would be dead before he was even saved.
That was my exact thought - especially after seeing Pirates of the Caribbean. Someone would have coming looking for him
@@okjeffy6581not if he swam out
It would either be horror if he eventually burned up or action adventure as we watch Hanks run from the flames for the entire movie😂jk
It’s somewhat remarkable. The seemingly insane act of humanizing the ball helped the castaway actually maintain his sanity.
2:30 lolz imagine if the valley ball was a person saying this, “why don’t you go ahead and grab ahold of that stick, and start making fire………” then when Tom picks it up and starts scraping it back and forth the ball starts saying “yeeeaaaahhhhh………that’s it………keep workin that wood just like that……..oohhh yeeeaaahhhh……..you workin that wood real good…….we’ll have a fire in no time……..just like that……just like that…….keep rubbing that wood…….” LMFAO!!!! 😂🤣😭
🏐
There should have been a bloody thumb print on the volleyball.
Meanwhile…
Alex: shut up, Spulding.
Owen: you know what im saying. Right, mr coconut?
❤
What he is experiencing is island fever. Symptoms are depression aggression irritability
💯
Read between the lines
I am wandering it might be the similar reaction when human beings made fire for the first time
While I understand its a huge risk... shouldn't he have tried lighting a huge fire on the island in order to create the largest smoke signal possible???
I wonder how he kept infection from setting in seeing as how he obviously had no antibiotics
The ocean..salt water kills bacteria
well sonny he had salt water and fire in case of a real emergency, like a boy son, of the boy
0:11 he hit his hand with a stick
He should've made a bow drill. Would work a lot better.
Ah yes, if only he whipped out his smart phone and Googled how to make a bow drill.
Volleyball and fire?
Wow, he really lost his mind
All I could think about was Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway when Wilson (volleyball) floated away😢
Wouldn't it be funny if years later just as soon as he got off the island a whole bunch of supplies suddenly wash up on shore.
I can't find that movie plis tell what to do volleyball and fire name?
the movie is called "Castaway"
One of the best movies out there, worth the watch!
No its not dont listen to them. The movie is called Anchorman
The movie is called Wilson.
is not on Netflix...
I guess Wilson would have to be gay to let this movie be on Netflix
I was a boy scout, I am in the military, and I have done campout in both places, the fire thing is so true, you light that fire with tools from mother nature or you bring something to let you handle mother nature and you are like yes, I did it. Just remember if you are in the field light can be seen by the enemy.

DO NOT USE SEA WATER TO CLEAN WOUNDS
That would cause infections.
Not sure if it would work but I would of cleared a good space and set a jungle fire
I would say it's a better strategy to stay near the ocean to see passing ships.
Me when I bump my head
did your teacher show this to you
Yup! Played it for religion class. Was to give us an understanding of how important human connection is and what happens when we don’t have it.
Yes. He played it in Independent Living class.

Why didn’t he start a fire using the blade side of the ice skates as a reflection off of the sun and aim it on a piece of the cardboard from the box that Wilson came in
Sparks from the metal hitting a rock might've worked.
In reality, wouldn't he have gotten a bad infection putting his bleeding hand in the seawater?
No salt water heals and soothes wounds.
Salt water is a natural antibiotic.
Yes salt water prevents healing and causes pain to wounds.
Man… I’m on a rollercoaster here.
