For those who didn’t know but if you had cast away back in the day on dvd You could pull up Tom Hanks jokingly saying that it was a solar powered waterproof satellite cell phone

It's obvious. He didn't want to open the last package because it gave him some hope that there might've been something in there that saved his life but most likely it was nothing of much use.... But it left some hope in the back of his mind.

It was a cellphone for the Woman in the country there is a cheat code on the Ps4 or 3 that tells you I did it I got from the magazine with cheat codes wasn't even looking for it but it is on the cd on Play station I did it it worked .

He was collecting packages in the hope that they would return home, and if you see the car at the end of the video, you will find that he actually did. He brought Wilson home.
The unopened package is a metaphor for "Blind Faith". When you are at the worst situation in your life, sometimes faith is all you really have to survive. Pinning your hope that it will all be alright. That your situation will improve somehow. That you will be saved. You do not know exactly how, or when, but you keep believing anyway that it will happen. In the same way we really do not know what is in the box. All that mattered was that chuck used it as a motivation for him to stay alive and somehow bring it to its rightful owner
RIP Lari White (Bettina). Sadly left us at 52 in 2018.
Those two jars would have been helpful to chuck, the glass could have been used to magnify & start a a huge fire easily which could have helped one of the rescue boats spot him, the jars could have also been used to help gather rain water much easier.
He drifted for miles and miles way outside the range of the searchers, burning the island would've just killed him.

I'd always wondered about its contents since grade school 🥺 thanks for clarifying! Even better story, upon realization! Damn good story. And I'd always assumed Chuck didn't open the last FedEx box because he was holding onto hope that he would indeed get off the island and out towards safety, small probability as that was. All things considered, I.. I'm speechless at this writing talent. Not everyone in real time gets rescued. But Chuck was one of the lucky ones, and there's a whole new life waiting for him, as if God had that planned out for him all along to be with Mrs. Bettina. This gave me goosebumps!

I like that you kept it a mystery. For years I've always wondered, for the past four years I knew the actual package had nothing after reading about it as it was a movie prop and that satisfied me for a while, but now ur video satisfied me even more. Thank you, the movie is perfect the way it is, I prefer it the way you made it but it's absolutely nice to know the "What could've/ would've been". Good thing he never opened it, it served him more as a mission as a couple jars of salsa is obviously of very little to no use to him.
P.S. That is not the way to be packaging jars of salsa, I used to work for UPS as a shipping agent so I would know. 😅

I think I’m more invested in the meaning of the package other than the contents it contains.
So, because Chuck's aeroplane crashed, Bettina's husband didn't get the package and lost the chance of getting back together? Is there an argument that the breakup is Chuck's fault? If Chuck goes down that road to meet Bettina, would she blame chuck for taking away the chance of her marriage being saved?
Interesting thoughts. I don't think the airplane going down was Chuck's fault. And I doubt that particular package would have saved Bettina and Dick's marriage, but who knows. It could have. =)
@@MoralofthisStory Ok. But could there also be a perspective that the point of the story wasn't Chuck's Arc, but the saving of Bettina from a loveless marriage? Actually, that's a bit rubbish. From that perspective, Bettina has no agency, and the events become a Deus Ex Machina.
I also wondered when I saw this if getting that package would have made a difference to Dick! But then I thought that as flippant as he was toward packages from his wife, even in advertising it to his mistress, I suspect that a little salsa and heartfelt words wouldn't have made much of a dent.

Not really! Because it wasn't Chuck's fault the plane went down. He just found the package. Bettina also sent her husband more than one package, the beginning of the movie shows her husband receive one with a pink butterfly.

actually what was in that package was; a satellite phone, variety of seeds, flare gun, waterproof matches, a hammock, compass, boat GPS tracker and.......bottle of Jack, nothing really

This reminds me of a true story. Once upon a Sunday the 21st, after seeing a pic of a yellow diamond that I never put there, some one made a mistake. They implied thered be a FedEx package by the 23rd?
It's the 26th-the end of the week. Nothing. Funny thing is that same person knows how to ensure a certain woman with a certain physique shows up followed by some other cues. All that trouble over some sexual desire that doesn't mean anything when that person seemingly has no intention of showing up.
Then on top of that, aside fron that box being stolen in 2019 with my doctorates from MIT, some crooked fed comes aling and decided they have to pretend to be my murderer who ran around free for how long? It's a smoke screen so it's ok to bully me. That same fed I don't think is going to sleep with the same women that same fed that wanted me dead slept with. That might be going too far! It's ok though to bully me around and come up with excuses for my murderer.
My stolen doctorates, my stolen money and a building with rent money has nothing to do with any of that. So someone tells me about they made a mistake. Instead of rectifying it, they feed my head some more and seem to be ok with one fed pretending to be the other who wanted me dead. I pay the price and I'm the victim.
True story! Then the proverbial storm cones where I get forced into a sting; some one goes to jail to which may or may not be real like my crooked fed who wanted me dead. Then when it's all done and said, there's every last crooked thief and murdered who's got it in for me; I get the punishment and never see a damn thing that's legally mine.
